Rage
(WARNING, STRONG LANGUAGE)
“-what did you call me…?”
The Houndoom stopped in her tracks, slowly turning her head around to glare menacingly at the large, blue canine Pokemon, who had just a moment ago spoken in her direction. She hesitated for a moment, trying to stare a hole directly into the skull of the Lucario, but their expression never changed. In a stern voice, the Lucario told her,
“I said you’re arrogant. You act on the first thought that comes to your mind and all you care about is whatever will make you better off than the other creatures you carelessly toss aside like garbage.” her authoritative stare kept focused on the smaller dog. “you believe nobody else’s opinions except your own and you could never admit to yourself that you’re wrong most if not every single time you-”
She was cut off by an aggressive bark from the large fire-type, “I’m not the one who’s wrong you braindead piece of trash-”
They were huddled in the basement, three of them; the Houndoom, the Lucario, and then the Luxray, who was being shielded by the larger canine, the bandage on his leg torn and exposing an open wound. He had a glint of fear in his eyes, even as he tried to toughen up he could never hide the fact that the hellhound genuinely frightened him, his freshly-gotten wound only causing him to be more afraid.
The Houndoom turned her gaze towards him, staring him dead in the eyes, “”-he thinks he can say whatever his little smart ass wants and that I’ll just take it without trying to slash his weak little neck.” The electric feline flinched a small bit as she said those last words, preparing for her to suddenly lunge at him again as she had done moments before. She had only stopped because the larger Pokemon intervened almost immediately, like she had sensed it happening before it even began. She couldn’t, however, stop the claws that raked across his leg as he tried to dive away from the attack, injuring an old wound that burned with searing pain. He couldn’t believe how much it hurt, like fire had entered into his bloodstream from her claws and was burning him from the inside out.
The Lucario replied, “You should know by now that I’m not only more intelligent than you, Val, but more reasonable.” The anger in Val’s eyes grew even bigger, her lips curling into a snarl at the slanderous words being thrown at her. “And I only say that because it’s the truth, because any sensible person would understand that you cannot assault a member of your own team just because they criticize the way in which you battle…” She gestured towards the large cat sitting behind her. ”He was honestly trying to help more than insult your intelligence, that’s how you learn, but based on how you continue to act you’ve essentially proven to me that you aren’t willing to do any learning whatsoever.”
They had competed earlier that week, a monthly competition held at the nearby event center. It cost only a small amount of money to enter into the ladder and the prizes given out were incredibly tempting for any aspiring trainer. They had entered in, all 6 of their team members, and got fairly far in the matches against the other opponents. As with all teams, however, there was a single weak link in their group, and because of his lack of strength he was unable to keep up with the rest of the competition. His matches were called off when it started looking to be too much for him. It’s a learning experience after all, he needed the practice more than anything, but it caused a guaranteed loss every time he battled.
The other time they lost, however, was when Valentia the Houndoom entered the arena, using her style of mindless brawling and raw, uncontrolled power to barrel forwards at her opponents with as much force as flaming freight train. She never listened to any commands, and she almost never landed a single hit on the enemy, as they would skillfully dodge out of the way and send her either into a wall or tumbling on the ground. She never tried to change her approach, she never tried any kind of tactics, she just kept doing this display of brute force that had won her so many scraps back home, but could never work in an actual, professional battle. Her past opponents had no training, every battle was either over food or to defend themselves, and she carried that knowledge with her ever since she was cast out to wander the earth.
These opponents, however, were completely trained to battle in a competitive environment such as this, and all they had to do was memorize Val’s attack patterns and counter them each and every time, causing her to lose even when she had the type advantage. It was enough to boot their group from the competition, not even reaching the top 10 trainer list. In all honesty the loss was no big deal, the time they had was a barrel of laughs and it got the team noticed by some of the more impressive members of the tournament community.
But Valentia could never let it go.
It burned hotter than her own summoned fire, she would sometimes grasp the claw marks that were slashed across her eye and writhe on the floor in pain, she became more aggressive and distant from the others, she would refuse to eat and even sometimes violently throw food across the room, smashing into the opposite wall leaving a splatter of debris. She couldn’t understand it, her mind couldn’t process it at all. She was the most powerful creature at that entire event, she had beaten so many others before her that she couldn’t even count them, but she had never experienced so many consecutive losses in her entire life. The Luxray had argued with her, saying it was her own fault that she had failed. He said she didn’t know how to fight and, because she was too stubborn to listen to her trainer, she would never be strong enough.
She remembered her then, she couldn’t get her out of her head, she consumed every waking thought and invaded her in her nightmares. She was haunted by the one, the only one, that she had cared for the most out of every single person in her entire life, who helped her brawl her way to the top to reap the rewards of the weak.
She remembered her betrayal, she remembered the sudden pain she felt in her right eye, falling from the top of the large rock they rested upon. The pain of losing, of failure, of everything she’s ever held onto being stripped away from her in an instant, just because she wasn’t strong enough.
She felt that same pain even now as her entire face was contorted with explosive rage, it flared and pulsed with burning as she held an expression of pure hatred. As she snarled, liquid fire began to drip from her fangs like ignited gasoline, forming small, flaming puddles on the floor that quickly fizzled out. The Lucario looked as if she wanted to say something, but she was cut off again by a loud and aggressive, “Que te den!,” from the now completely enraged Valentia. “You’ve got no idea what I know about fighting and you never will, because I know that you weren’t born out there like me.” She continued, pacing back and forth slowly while never taking her eyes off the Lucario. “I worked so, hard, for my entire fucking life just to survive, so I never had to worry about whether or not I’d even have a meal the next day.”
She stopped pacing, looking at the ground for a moment, “It was my own personal Hell…” then she looked back at the both of them as her face twisted into a sinister-looking grin, baring her fangs as she spoke.
“-And I crawled my way out of there on my own sharpened claws, past the pathetically useless pieces of shit that didn’t do anything but take up space, just sat around and fought over crumbs.” She then casually sighed, her anger almost seeming to disappear, her gaze drifting into space as she smiled. “As a kid I learned that you can’t listen to nothing and nobody, not if it it didn’t come from your own brain, and that’s how I got what I wanted, and after all that strength training it wasn’t even that hard...” She got closer to the two and then stopped, the aggressive tone returning almost immediately. “And that feeling... that power... is something that you will never experience in your useless, weak, pathetic lives, lo entiendes?”
The two sat in silence for a moment, the Luxray bracing himself for what looked like an upcoming attack, but the Lucario held herself strong, not budging an inch, replying, "but now look at what happened to you." This pissed off the already-angered Pokemon even more, her pupils dilating in aggression, but the Lucario was not impressed. She kept her calm demeanor and simply said, “go take a walk, Valentia, you need time to cool yourself off.”
This made the large cat snicker for a brief moment before his gaze was drawn back to the pissed-off hellhound, almost foaming at the mouth by this point. Valentia was about to unleash her unbridled fury before she looked back up at the Lucario, as she noticed that she had been channelling concentrated aura into her left palm. The action was subtle and gradual but still it grew powerful enough to give off a bright glow that glared in the Houndoom’s eyes. The right eye socket of the psychic hound was glowing as well, a color not unlike that of the aura she held in her paw, releasing a small amount of bluish haze into the room that trailed up above it’s point of origin for several inches before dissipating. She was warning Val, daring her to try anything, narrowing her eyes as if to say, “leave, now.”
And so Val’s snarl grew into a soft growl, and she said nothing as she stormed out of the room, bolting out of the house and down the street. She knew she couldn’t go far, not with that thing keeping track of her, that could capture her again so fiendishly. She wanted nothing more than to break free of her surroundings, to go back to the life she once had, to finally get her revenge that she lusted for so desperately in every waking moment of her existence. She stopped for a moment, clutching her scar with her paw, feeling the burning sensation flare up again.
The Lucario, Iris, she claimed to know more about her than even she did. Valentia knew she was lying through her teeth, she couldn’t possibly know a single thing about what she’s had to go through, what she had to endure. “She thinks she’s trying to help me,” Val muttered to no one, “if she really wanted to help me she’d get me the hell outta here and stay out of my way…”
Valentia ran off into the night, knowing full well she’d have no choice but to return sometime, but she didn’t care. At that moment in time, she just wanted to feel free.

Here’s the cast of characters so far! Their names and several general grammatical errors will be changed and updated in the future so pardon me if it doesn’t look as good as it probably should
*Breathes in*
Okay! So, I’ve been talking about having Pokemon OCs for a while now, but I’ve never really had the chance to show them to the outside world before. This is the literal first time I have ever done this, and I’m scared that people won’t actually like them or that they won’t be accepted by the community or something like that, but I’ve been told by all of my truly wonderful friends that they’re actually really well made and I should just go ahead put them out there so fuck it here we go…
Also no I didn’t give them nicknames because based on what I’ve seen from the anime they don’t really have any nicknames, plus I never named them in the game so lol I did not bother
Warning this is long as fuck:
