Y’all, I think I’m gonna take another week or so just to get my head straight. It’s been super hectic here and my muse is all but gone at the mo. I do really want to write though so just lettin’ y’all know what’s what.

I know activity’s been sporadic lately. Quarantine here’s slowly lifting and i finally got a chance to see one of my best friends and her newborn, esp. because i was absolutely gutted that i missed the chance to visit the day she was born. been spending a lot of my time with their fam and just other social stuff online.

though her reply was NOT as expected. hitting, yelling, insults were all expected. not questions that held such melancholy within them. melancholy that HE caused, & could never take back no matter how much he wanted to.

Hearing her name spoken so softly to her, her heart began to ache. Both it and the spirit within her almost reached for him, searching for that familiar comfort. It was hard to ignore the amplification of love she felt whenever the spirit would react to him. It remembered the love that they shared and so, it always kept her tethered to him whenever he was nearby. Gods, but that made it harder to avoid the man — or to remain angry at him. 

Oh no.

She felt his touch and her hands clenched, she still could not bear to face him just yet. That kind of touch, he never shared with others. Not in Kirkwall, and not in the tavern. All the things she had seen him do with others, they were never that gentle and calculated, never that affectionate. That was a touch saved for her. Gods, how she missed it. She would have been lying if she said that she did not wish for it every time he had come to see her.

Finally finding it in her to look at him, she slowly turned and met his eyes with her own glossy blues. Her face almost leaned into the touch briefly, before her face contorted into anger. “Gods—” Cecelia shoved him away with her hands, “—damn you, Hawke, what on earth do I do with that?” she asked, a tear falling freely. She stepped forward and slammed her hands against him again, though it was more to strike his chest than to push. “I waited, gods damn it, I waited, I— if I’d known the truth, I would have burned my way to you and I would have found you right away. I would have...” She struck his chest again out of frustration before wrapping her arms around him tightly and burying her face into the crook of his neck. 

“I could have found you.”

Feeling a bit under the weather today. I’ve drafted the new stuff I owe and have written as much as I can for now, I’ll be back to it later im just gonna try to get some sleep and see how I end up.

Standing over her reagents and supplies, Cecelia put down the rag that was in her hand and took a quiet breath. Her fingertips pressed against the empty spaces of the table in front of her as she shut her eyes and attempted to exhale without a stagger. 

They stood in her little healer’s quarters in the fort. She had been cleaning up after taking care of yet another one of Hawke’s wounds. Ever since their rocky reunion, he had been by her station more times than she could count. She had given up trying to get him to stop. It was particularly hard to even try once the flowers started showing up on her desk. There was usually nothing she couldn’t handle, until she heard those particular words, with that soft and gentle voice of his. She could not turn to look at him. If he looked at her with no smile or grin, her heart would sink and she could not bear it.

Opening her eyes and bringing herself back, she remained as she was, still facing away from him as her voice gently rose. “Would you have come back?” she asked just before her heart sank a little. The dark part of her mind wondered in agony if it had all finally been enough for him. “Or would you have avoided it altogether, right from the start?”

With a faint hum in agreement, the elf absentmindedly relied on her staff for comfort. Held upright from the ground, it was grasped close to her body with both hands. Past the concern displayed on her face, she glanced at Carver and attempted some form of reassurance.

“Though along the way, you’ll still find those who are willing to help you face them,” she reasoned, a hand motioning behind her toward the door that lead to the rest of Skyhold. “Not to mention the fact that facing those monsters has yet to turn you into one. That’s got to count for something, Commander,” she added with a wink, a small smile breaking through the worry briefly.
