Five’s a team

A little self indulgent oc x canon thing I wrote for my oc Aurora and @starstainedtea’s oc Lakan. Mutual pining. Omen and Aurora being each other’s wingmen. Hilarity ensues.

Another trip to Ascent. Aurora detested the thought. Despite being glad she was assigned to this mission, particularly because she knew someone else of interest would be there, Aurora is deathly afraid of heights. The thought comforted her, however, that possibly, by chance of fate, a strong Russian hunter would be there to catch her.

Aurora was not the only one absorbed in her thoughts. Beside her was Omen, staring intensely at the seats opposite of them. Lakan and Chamber were engrossed in conversation. The both of them seemingly firing away at the first thought that sparked into their brain. Aurora noticed the grip on Omen’s arm tighten, the shadowy pulsing expanding and retracting rapidly.

“I have never seen you so upset, my friend.” Aurora teased.

Omen did not look up, but responded nonetheless. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Oh, my dear, I think you do.” Aurora gently lifted Omen’s head with a dismembered hand of light, he shooed it away and turned to face the chuckling woman.

“You’re a child.” Omen’s slits retracted, but then dilated again, almost as if he was smirking.

Aurora was confused, until she felt a heavy hand be placed on her shoulder. “We land soon. Are you prepared?”

Sova must have left the cockpit only moments ago. Aurora’s face tuned a bright blooming red. “Ah! Of course! We are prepared. Wholly. Totally.”

Sova gave Aurora a gentle smile. She turned back to Omen, who was quietly laughing to himself. “And you have the audacity to snicker at me.”

“Oh hush. Be ready for the drop.”

The defense lineup went as follows: Chamber was to watch mid into B main. Aurora and Lakan doubled their defenses on B as they were anticipating the attack to most likely be there. Omen watched A main while Sova kept himself on catwalk. It was a perfectly formulated plan.

Lakan wiped the scope of their rifle with their sleeve. “Do you think the boys can handle themselves without us?”

“No.” Aurora chuckled. “We’ll just have to come to their rescue—,”

“—again.” Lakan and Aurora shared a moment of laughter. “Still though, I worry for Omen. True to your word that you think he will be alright?”

Aurora smirked for a minute moment but forced it away. “He’s probably on the other side worried about you. You know he talks of you constantly, yes?”

“Very funny, Aurora.” Lakan gave her a light push on the shoulder. “I dont think he’d spare a passing glance to me.”

“He doesn’t have eyes, my love, how could you tell?”

Lakan laughed. “Well, can you?”

“No, but what I do know is that Omen has a way with words. He speaks of you constantly when we train together. ‘Lakan has the most alluring eyes.’ ‘Have you seen the way Lakan performed in combat today?’ ‘Where is Lakan? I need to give them something.’ On and on, this goes.”

“Well, why doesn’t he tell me these things?” Lakan pondered.

“He thinks you have an eye for Monsieur Chamber.” Aurora winked.

“Hah! No, no. Nothing of the sort. I have known Chamber for a very long time, I value his friendship, but for me to call him a significant other, heh, no.”

To be truthful, this answer had surprised Aurora, as she was also under the impression Lakan and Chamber were an item, she was eager to tell Omen of this newfound information, until…

*step step step*

“They’re here.”

Sova and Omen waited for hours on A, nothing of concern ever reaching their site.

“No enemies A.” Omen spoke into his communicator.

“Mid is clear.” Chambers voice responded from the static.

Aurora spoke next. “Nothing B either. Keep your eyes open, they could be here any minute now.”

Sova nodded, examining the finer details of his bow. “Good to hear thank you.”

Omen looked away from main for a moment to see Sova looking up dreamily after hearing the sound of Aurora’s voice on the intercom.

“You know if you like hearing her talk you can simply talk to her more often.” Omen said.

Sova let out a pathetic sigh. “I am nothing in comparison to Aurora. What do I have to offer her?”

“You. That’s all she wants.”

Sova shook his head. “I believe Chamber has already occupied most of Aurora’s time.” The thought upset Sova greatly. The times he’s seen Chamber kissing the back of Aurora’s hand, offering her his arm at formal events, etc. Sova wanted to be in Chamber’s shoes, he detested the thought of Aurora being with someone else. But in his own retrospect, Sova believed they were perfect for each other. Both leading lavish and opulent lives, Chamber could give Aurora something he couldn’t.

Sova snapped out of his thoughts to hear a strange sound. It was Omen. Was.. he.. laughing? Like… genuinely laughing? “Что (what?)”

“I’d never thought I’d meet someone this foolish.” Omen continued laughing, condescendingly. “Aurora talks of you ceaselessly. It’s as if every word in her mouth is consumed at the prospect of you. Her eyes light up everytime you walk into her line of sight. She yearns to be close to you everytime you are near. Sova, Aurora adores you. And I think I would know better than anyone else.”

Sova stayed quiet for a long period of time. He was going to retort something back, but both his and Omen’s communicators went off.

“They’re here.”

Bloodied from the battle, the 3 gentlemen + Aurora and Lakan were ready to fall into the drop ship. Aurora and Lakan sustained the worst injuries, being carried in by their compatriots.

Aurora, for a moment, lost her balance and tripped over the side of the ship’s ramp, letting out a terrified scream, Sova immediately grabbed her by the waist and pulled her to the safety of his chest.

“Careful, любимый (dear). Are you alright?” Sova looked down at a very embarrassed and very red Aurora.

“Dziękuję Ci (thank you).” Sova ushered her into the drop ship where she sat in the copilot seat next to him on the flight home.

If Omen could smile he could, until he heard the shallow breathing of Lakan beside him. Their head starting to lower as they attempted to keep themself awake.

Omen took a moment of courage to urge their head onto his shoulder. He wrapped his arm around Lakan’s neck and his head found its place on top of theirs. Lakan melted into the touch. They wrapped their arms around his torso, drinking in the feeling of the shadowy revenant. This wordless act of caring had the two asleep in minutes.

It would go on like this for a while. Moments of mutual pining, a 3rd party recognizing feelings while the two themselves are oblivious. They love each other, but they are not ready. Until then, Aurora will tell Omen of the one she dearly calls Sova, and Omen will tell Aurora of the powerful yet gentle Lakan. Until another day.

- Aurora may not entirely support Lakan’s bloodthirsty habits, but she can understand where they come from

- Oh yeah, her best friend and her teacher duo? Aurora is your #1 stan

- The absolute beef Noura would have with Lakan at first

Nuniq's Relationship with Lakan (@flooficandii's / chamberstannie69fucker's OC)

I write with them a lot so expect a bit of pieces missing because I'll probably make a mega post just about the two of them because I can and I said so. HI Floofi, pspspspspspspspspspsps c'mere bestie, *readies the nunq trap*

Mush these two together and you get dysfunctional siblings.

No, I mean it, that's their dynamic, basically. Lakan's also an Amaruq figure in her life, if Amaruq was Asian, unhinged, bloodthirsty and a "bit of a" manwhore.

Oh yeah, Nuniq took a while to get adjusted with the fact that Lakan acts like they're dating half the team when they are in fact, not.

Lakan was put into Valorant's "welcoming team" (Viper pretends it doesn't exist) after Nuniq, they made her change her mind in under ten minutes and had her pack her bags and join the team.

They gossiped on the way back to base. And yes, they gossip a lot, and Lakan absolutely would paint her nails while they do. But they're usually painted already, Astra's responsible for th-

Something about being a genuine and kind person changes their perception on someone easily, and they really love how she's a strong-willed youth. Makes them feel comfortable around her.

Yes, they treat her the same way they treated their younger cousins, they'd go to her room at random hours of the day just to go,

"Do you want merienda? I made kwek kwek and cheese sticks..."

They also steal her dog a lot. Like, not even borrow it, they WILL go to her room and they WILL go "Aputi! Aputi, baby, come here!" and Aput will follow, leaving Nuniq glaring while they close the door and leaving with Aput.

...They call her Niq/Niq-Niq but bet she'd think it's a little stupid. You know when your siblings/family members call you something stupid in front of others? Yeah.

Lakan doesn't like telling Nuniq about their struggles, but they do notice hers. They will always, always listen if ever she wants to talk because they know that to anyone with a life in the protocol has lost a lot to be there.

On a lighter note, they wingman for her. She's a dysfunctional mess around Astra or any pretty woman (they sometimes have her watch over the Tres Marias while they're busy and come back to her being cradled by pretty ghost women) and they know it so they want to help her.

Uh, she doesn't trust Chamber, and meanwhile, Lakan is obviously close to him. Even starts dating him, and she doesn't say much but she hopes that he gets kicked in the balls. How can a corporate fuckwad even be with a genuine guy like them?

Oh bestie, wait until they find out about how it was Chamber who destroyed the LRC. Big problems.

Lakan's Dialogues for her

"I saw your mail, Nuniq! No, I'm not giving Aput back, he loves it in my room. May binili pa kong bagong tulugan niya, so I'm kindly telling you to fuck off." (I even bought him a new sleeping bag.)

"Nuniq, you don't have to be everyone's savior, alright? Be careful first. Please."

"You, Niq-niq, yeah, if you find any of my sigbins playing with Aput, try not to kick their face in or scream."

"Ay, did Astra kiss you? Not yet? Damn, you suck at this, a'ight-"

(Nuniq, sitting down and holding Aput and Astra) "Damn, it's really quiet today."

(Loud, wooden footsteps of Lakan's bakya while Nuniq prepares for today's subjection of torture) "I spoke too soon."

(Lakan literally punching her door open, rabid as ever) "NUNIQ- Oh hi Astra, hi Aput! YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE WHAT I SAW EARLIER IN THE PANTRY."

Maligno's relationship with Lakan (@saltedcandy's / fellowfilipinowithcomplicatedlovehaterelationshiponafrenchman's OC) We get brain rots often too, these two are fruity as hell.

Where can we begin with this?

They're very fruity, you see. Though their backstories would conflict a bit if we squish them together, we can work a way around it.

They have interesting interactions with each other, as Lakan can control the supernatural, while Maligno is a part of the supernatural. How fun!

Both are Filipinos, would usually talk in their native tongue and are very casual as long as neither are scheming or being serious.

Maligno and Lakan are aggressive when playing together. A little rough housing and you'd see Maligno with his claws out while Lakan's choking the shit out of him and they'd just go, "Oh we're playing."

Brimstone has to have at least someone make sure neither of them get too carried away. These two agents are powerful with their bloodlust and that's what makes them terrifying, and especially when they're with each other.

They can act and look a bit like a domestic couple? Lakan has a lot of relationships with people, close, intimate friendships that all have a different basis.

I guess Maligno gives them a sense of familiarity. A fellow Filipino with a heart of gold despite their circumstances in their lives. They feel strangely at peace with each other, even if everyone else just sees monsters. (A bit like Lakan's relationship with Omen in a way?)

Man, Lakan would always take care of Maligno and ease him from a mission high just to make sure he's safe and stable.

They probably have the capability to overpower Maligno, his radiance could be his downfall if Lakan ever decides to dislike him to an extent and take his life away but, no, that's not in the table for them. They won't do that.

They both died in their prime because they spoke up against people of power, so that's another thing they'll have to bond over. They're both very strong-willed and hard-headed, so be wary of them if you act like a target to them.

Okay but head canon here, Maligno and Lakan help each other cook a lot. Like, their favorite foods when they were younger and stuff!

*PUNCHES CHAMBER* IT HAS OCCURED TO ME THAT CHAMBER WOULD BE STUCK IN BETWEEN THEM SOMETIMES AND MY BRAIN HAS ASCENDED TO A HIGHER LEVEL.

Maligno and Lakan share a talent for music too, you can trust them to jam out together and end up in a little fiesta. It's cute.

Whenever I think of Maligno and Lakan, I think of two domestic people, they'd get married to each other just for marriage buffs. Just two radiants who can rock your shit if you hurt the other and you'd be confused if you find out they're besties. Are they besties or are they lovers?

No, they're domestic.

They can also be VERY loud and cuss a lot when speaking Tagalog, it sounds like they're about to break in a fight but that's just Filipino culture for you.

I'm too shy to interact with xem but melon is so sweet and Ukiyo is so adorable, I love everything!

Lakan was a college professor. Now, Lakan's basically a spirit overlord. Ukiyo's younger than them. Ukiyo can summon spirits. You know what that means-

Lakan would treat her as a student, they'd teach her whatever she needs/wants so that they'd see her flourish and grow.

They want her to use her radiance for the better, but they also won't burden her by speaking of that choice, they just want her to be careful about what she does.

Spirits can take a toll on you, so be careful with how you treat them, that's what they'll teach her. (Also in general be careful w practices that involve spirits or anything supernatural to any practices that require these... you know, things)

It's like, they would always help her find out more about her radiance, branching it out so she'll be stronger, not just for the sake of power, but for her to protect herself, and to an extent, anyone who cares for her!

It's also that one teacher who's like a parent (or that professor who's like, strangely attractive or whatever)! I can imagine when she asks for help on something (it can be academic or if she's just curious about something) they'd always help her out (same for other agents) and eat piyayas with her.

They also make sure she's safe whenever she's out on a date with Yoru. They just want the two of them to have fun, and appreciate the fact that they make each other happy.

They're an unhinged professor but they also care for the younger agents so what happens is basically, she gets to have radiant training with a guy who knows what they're doing with their radiants except she has to deal with them sometimes accidentally summoning the wrong spirit so it turns to a mini mission to babysit tikbalangs or benevolent elemental spirits.

They'd summon the bakunawa and allow her to give it a piggyback ride or whatever. A powerful, serpentine dragon that loves to eat the moon but Lakan would just go, "Haha it's a lil guy, you can totally give him head pats."

Overall VERY wholesome relationship between them, plus they would absolutely wear dresses with her. She can buy them anything and they'd wear it and make it a fashion statement and no you can't talk shit about it or they will plummet you to the ground.

Also they definitely buy her enamel pins/talismans, cute ones too. *Heart hands*

Honestly, they'll be very chill and supportive with the fact she's dating Yoru, they were surprised, yes, but like? Honestly? They care for Yoru too, he needs someone to care for him, he obviously needs it.

They call her kikay but as a compliment, I'm sorry I don't make the rules. It's their nickname for her now.

Overall very... father-like figure? I could say they act like a professor but even if they're a professor they can also make you feel like you're coming home to a dad. Or an uncle. A mildly insane uncle but it counts.

Could I beat the Valorant agents in a fight if they were radiantless?

No guns, no powers, just ye-old fistfight. I would consider myself a little athletic, like I played sports in high school and work out regularly so I think I’ve got a fair shot at at least SOME of them. Scaled from 0-10. Here we go!

Astra: 7/10 I could probably do it, she doesn’t look that heavy so knocking her over doesn’t look like it takes a lot. That metal arm could rock my shit though.

Breach: 4/10 Get his arms out of the picture and it’s fairly easy to knock him down. But if I get hit by his arms it’s fucking game over dude.

Brimstone: 6/10 I’d have to get lucky. Yes he has military training but he’s also an old fucking man. There’s literally a voiceline during a game where he says his knees are gonna kill after this. I would catch him post mission and go for a roundhouse kick only to watch him disintegrate at the sight of me.

Viper: 2/10 This woman has been WAITING for the day to rock someone’s shit. Would stab me with a syringe of unknown origins while I’m down.

Omen: 0/10 He’s too sexy for me to ever harm. Also can and would knit me into a meat scarf.

Killjoy: 10/10 She’ll probably trip over her shoelaces during the fight. I’d take her glasses and spit on them

Cypher: 6/10 All I have to do is name one person in his family and then absolutely decimate this man. If we have a preexisting relationship though he would’ve read up on me and could do the same. Only reason it’s in my favor is because Cypher is also just An Old Guyᵀᴹ

Sova: 1/10 Literally the only way I could win is if I take out his good eye. But Sova is Russian and built like an iceberg he would sink my titanic bitchass.

Sage: 8/10 Physically I feel like I would be stronger however Sage def has some pent up rage that she needs to release. I’d walk away the winner but with like a broken leg. She’d put up a good fight.

Phoenix: 100000/10 He’s British. I’m American. We’ve all seen this one before.

Jett: 8/10 Jett would fight dirty as hell, but I get her off of her feet and she’s done for. Would be a long ass fight just because she’d be that fucking annoying to deal with.

Reyna: ?/10 The fight would turn into something sexual so we’d stop and just go fuck.

Raze: 5/10 Only reason this isn’t higher is because y’all have seen the Raze cinematic. Girl is agile as HELL. It’d be like that fight scene from despicable me 3 where she’s just fucking breakdancing on my corpse. Would come down to who can land the most hits.

Skye: 3/10 Skye would refuse to fight me making me the victor by default. However, if she DID fight me the fight would be over embarrassingly quick.

Yoru: 9/10 I would ROCK this twink’s shit. What is he gonna do? Pull out the comb?

Kay/O: 1/10 Only successful scenario is where I ask Kay/O to divide by zero but that just feels like cheating. Anyways yeah Kay/O would roll me like sushi and I’d enjoy it

Chamber: 8/10 Chamber may be an assassin but his specialty is shooting. I feel like as long as I play low and maybe get a hold of his glasses I win. Also he’s rich i would eat him and his expensive watch alive.

Oooo boy time for some backstory! Here’s Noura’s mother, with a bit of lore snipits and mini fics: (art by @lemonssoda as always)

Noura’s mother was Dr. Ilanya Mora. She was a doctor specializing in trauma patients, she goes by Anya for short.

Anya was an upstanding citizen of Cairo, Egypt. She traveled all around North Africa doing emergency service work, which eventually led her to Morocco to meet Aamir Akram.

One night, when walking back to the hospital, Anya sees a man slumped over in an alleyway, bloodied and bruised, a bronze eye emblem stitched onto his breastpocket.

Laws in Morocco were quite strict, telling the hospital who they could and could not serve based on numerous factors, one of them being a criminal record

Aamir was no clean man, and Anya got that impression from first glimpse. She could not treat him at the hospital.

So she does what every good doctor does and helps Aamir with the tools she had available to her at home, 🌈Illegally!🌈

Upon regaining consciousness Aamir is upset that someone had found him so vulnerable, and with his face exposed no le— oh my god that is a gorgeous woman

Forgets all about his injuries and straight up starts flirting with the doctor who saved his dumbass life

In any other scenario, Aamir would’ve murdered the person who saw him unmasked and fled the scene, however, he was so intrigued by his savior. The fact that an ordinary woman would save his life despite all of the laws in place against it, who would commit such a generous act?

Anya. Her name was Anya.

“And who do I owe the pleasure of meeting?”

“You’re losing a lot of blood, please try to lay still.” Anya scoffed.

Aamir laughed a cat’s laugh, and looked more at his rescuer. She had long dark hair she wore up in a bun, dark rimmed glasses sat on the tip of her nose, shielding two dark brown eyes. Never in his life did Aamir see such a lovely woman.

“Ah, thank you.” Aamir looked up at his savior as she gently bandaged his hand. “How can I repay the beautiful woman standing before me?” Aamir held Anya’s hand in his bandaged one and brought it up to his lips. She was soft, and a bit cold.

“By staying out of trouble.” Anya took her hand back and tapped the tip of Aamir’s nose. “Now, do you have anymore wounds that I must tend to?”

“Yes, right here.” Aamir tapped his cheek.

Anya sighed. “You may stay until you feel better. Please, try to rest and don’t exhaust yourself with taking.” She pulled a chair up next to the couch she had laid him down on.

Aamir chuckled. “All this fuss over me and you still won’t tell me your name.”

She looked down at the man, and tucked him under the covers. “Anya.”

Aamir would constantly come visit Anya in secret, sneaking into her office/home with some sort of gift or gesture. Anya was a bit annoyed at first, but Aamir’s charm grew on her. He was gentle towards her, devilishly handsome, and had that little bit of mystery to him that just grabs a lady’s attention.

Anya was naïve, incredibly so. She believed in good of all people which enabled her to give Aamir a chance. Soon enough, they fell in love, and Dr Mora became Dr Akram.

Aamir was a dutiful husband, loving the time he got to spend with his wife despite the risky aspect of his job. Anya, on multiple occasions, would plead Aamir to drop the double faced acts, but it was the only life Cypher knew, he couldn’t drop it all for his wife.

This all changed when Noura was born.

Even in youth, Noura was a force to be reckoned with. A rowdy and rambunctious child, Aamir and Anya could barely keep up. Aamir loved his little girl, spoiling her at every chance he got.

Aamir knew with a family, his risk filled life could not go on any further. He took on many names to cover up his old life. They were able to find some solace for a couple of years, but Aamir’s past would soon catch up to him.

Old enemies, maybe a gang or group that Aamir had wronged before, they came. Their home was burned to the ground. Anya didn’t know what had happened, she didn’t care, where was her daughter? Her husband? Who were those people? Were they coming back?

Anya found Noura, but in all of her efforts of seeing the wreckage, she could not find her husband. Scared, hurt, and alone, Anya took Noura far far away, in hopes of finding somewhere safe.

Anya and Noura went back to Cairo, where Anya was born. Anya was still a part of a hospital, so it wasn’t too hard for her to support her daughter financially.

No, the real issue was the toll on Anya’s mental state. The people that attacked her family were never found. Her husband was dead, and she had a little girl that she was in no way qualified to protect.

She did her best though, making sure Noura continued with her education, keeping food on the table, and keeping a sane look on her face. She’s broken a few times though.

“Mama?” Noura walked into the kitchen. The lights were off, but Noura heard a silent sob come from underneath the counter. “Ma? Are you okay?”

The sight made Noura’s heart drop. Anya was huddled underneath the table, knees tucked to her chest, and crying. She looked up to see her daughter, curious and alarmed. Anya looked at her daughter with a wide eyed expression. Noura opened her arms and tucked herself into her mother’s embrace. Anya reciprocated the hug, holding her daughter close, and she cried.

“I’m sorry. I’m sorry.” She repeated the phrase like a mantra. Noura said nothing, and hugged her mother tighter and tighter. They had no one but each other.

Anya’s paranoia only got worse as Noura grew older, knowing that one day Anya could not protect her daughter and something would come for her that she could not stop.

They never got to that point though, as another attack came from Aamir’s old enemies. Anya was in no condition to fight off these attackers. They took her away, leaving Noura alone. Anya is presumed dead, but nothing is confirmed.

All her life, Noura had blamed herself for the death of her parents. However, when Noura finds Aamir again? Oh boy. She’s mad.

“You were, alive? This whole time?” Noura’s hands balled into fists. “This… this whole time I thought you were dead! And it was my fault!”

Cypher looked at her daughter. She was filled with pain and anguish.

“Do you know what happened to her, baba?” Noura looked back at the man standing before her. “She’s gone, probably dead. And this whole time I lived my life thinking it was my fault.”

“Habibti, of course it wasn’t your fault—”

“You’re right, it’s yours.” Noura stared at her father through tear filled eyes. “And until I get her back, I don’t forgive you.”

in the storyline where we mush up all our ocs together, lakan is the one that convinces nuniq to join the protocol

nuniq saw the kingdom logo on brim's pauldron and immediately decided these people were not worth listening to

soOOOO naturally youre gonna wanna bring out the radiant professor who spent the past few years being a sore in kingdom's neck

lakan and nuniq have pretty similar experiences. they're part of the "kingdom fucked up my home" club

although nuniq was still wary and standoffish to the rest of the protocol at first, she and lakan got along really quick

she trusts them enough to take her blood even after seeing them on the field lmaO

lakan is sorta like an older brother figure to her. they're like an unhinged version of her old friend amaruq

they steal her dog sometimes. it annoys her but she can't do anything about it because aput loVES lakan

overall they have a very deep trust and they both emphasize with eachother. theres so much lore to go over with both of them but i'll shorten it for the sake of this post hHFJDJGK

if lakan is an older sibling to nuniq, tefnut is sorta like a little sister

...a little cousin, more of

their radiants are interconnected (tefnut to water, nuniq to snow) so i like to imagine they help eachother develop their skills

they play this little game where tefnut tries to turn a snowball into liquid, passes it, and nuniq tries to freeze the water blob

its like .. liquid tennis

eventually it gets bigger and bigger , cleo for example would send a wave towards her and nuniq would turn it into a thin sheet of ice

clean, just like that

unfortunately tefnut is a duelist SOOOO theres a bit of babysitting involved /j

especially when it involves yoru

cleo will sneak back into the base from a late night out with him and theres nuniq in the lobby picking tangles out of aput's fur

cairo on the other hand, treats nuniq the way she wished she was treated

theyre both people who knows what it feels like to look after/worry about a team, except shatter is much more experienced whereas nuniq was forced to take on that role

shatter helps nuniq feel at ease during missions. this is a competent and capable woman who knows when to call the shots

as for noura herself, nuniq is surprised at how.. different noura is from cypher

if cyphers conniving and secretive noura is very bouncy and peppy

its almost funny

but there are a few similarities, like their wits, info-gathering and maybe even their laugh

(yes this is a suggestion to give noura and cypher the same laugh haha wink wink nudge nudge)

from her abilities and personality i take it that noura can be a little . brash in battle lmaO so that means nuniq would have to keep a very close eye on her

it pays off though, sometimes it takes brute strength to reinforce a tight defense

i think these two would get along!! noura might (lovingly) annoy nuniq but she cares for her. on a mission nuniq might try to protect noura specifically because cypher's already lost his family once, and she'll try to stop that from happening again.

nuniq had noone to turn to when she was still figuring out her radiance so most of it is self-taught, but aurora could possibly give her some wisdom that she could never grasp on her own

if ever she hears about how aurora acquired her radiance she'd be so.. surprised

after something so scary and life-altering it's amazing to see how composed she is

she has the experience of a school teacher and the radiant mastery of a goddess

she FEARS this woman. in a good way

i think the closest comparison i could make is with astra?

both astra and aurora have the capacity to fuck up the world as we know it but they're on the good side. thank god

any kind of radiance that involves things not immediately visible to the eye (such as astra's cosmic powers, or spiritual/otherworldly interference) catches nuniq's attention

i think nuniq does believe in a few spiritual things herself, mostly from inuit mythology

so for ukiyo to bridge the gap between the dead and the living,,,,a scary power, but an amazing one when used correctly and put in the right hands

that being said i'm not entirely sure nuniq would trust in her abilities yet

she'd rather have ukiyo train her radiance first, or keep watch on her if ever she has to go into the field

so as much as she doesn't want to, she'll be a bit strict around her

its for her safety mostly, its one thing to be given radiance– another thing to be in charge of literal spirits

canonically...there might be a bit of wariness/hostility because of chameleons history as a kingdom scientist

as with all kingdom employees it will take quite a while for nuniq to trust her

especially considering chameleon hasn't shown any clear resistance to kingdom, and was only taken in after her radianite exposure

in fact, nuniq wonders if shes aware of all the atrocities kingdom has done

viper acknowledges her faults as a kingdom chemist, brim wears their symbol almost as an act of rebellion (in my headcanon at least) but chameleon hasn't shown any remorse whatsoever for what kingdom has done. either she's naive to their actions or she directly helped in them, which nuniq fears

her being childhood friends with chamber unfortunately does not help the case ,,,,,

as much as nuniq wants to trust her friendly face her gut instincts make it difficult to do so. she'll respect her as a colleague but she'll try to keep her distance

It's about 10 o' clock. Most of the agents are back in their rooms and that includes you, except that you're currently in a certain phantom's room.

Nothing but the shuffling of the covers are heard as you try to fall asleep. There's a big mission tomorrow and you want some good shuteye. Omen sits silently beside your mildly thrashing form as he knits a (f/c) scarf.

You finally give up on falling asleep as you sit up and lay your head on his shoulder. Upon the contact, he stops knitting and sets aside his needles. A claw, though usually covered in blood when in combat, sharp and dangerous as it apears, softly slides down your arm and carefully slots it into your hand.

A smile, genuine and loving tugs at your face. You bring your hands up to press a chaste kiss on the back of his. The smoke that makes up his body flows excitedly for a split second while he looks down to hide his bashfulness. How you make him feel this way is still a mystery but he welcomes the feeling wholeheartedly.

You gently tug on his arm and sink down into the bed. He gets the message and lifts the blanket before slipping under properly. Both pairs of legs get tangled as you pull yourself closer to his chest, wanting to feel a sense of security that he is still here with you and not disappearing to anywhere else.

His presence and the reassurance that he is here to stay is all you need to fall asleep peacefully. Your head rests under his form's chin and you relax into his hold, eyes fluttering to a close.

The wraith himself feels the warmth of your body slowly lulling him to a rest. At least this time when he sleeps, he'll have you in his arms to wake up to if he meets some nightmares.
