I bring a sort of "well what do you want me to do about it? Just tell me what you need me to do to fix this and I'll do it" vibe to the conversation that people who just want to vent their feelings out don't really emotionally benefit from.

what is badgers lore

so badger is the biological son of my characters. sunseeker, his mom, is a Nightwing who's mother moved to the sandwing kingdom to get away from the Nightwing island. she didn't want to raise her daughter choking on smoke and hate.

badgers father is a sandwing named tarantula who was about sunseeker's age when her and her mother moved in upstairs to his dad's bakery.

badger has three brothers. one full brother named scythe (selectively mute. the oldest), a half brother named dingo (second oldest. tarantula cheated on sunseeker.) and an adopted brother named Hailcrusher (youngest. orphan night/ice their mom took in)

dingo isn't super involved in their lives. they know about him but things are just a little awkward between them because of their parents. they get along though.

scythe spends most of his time shadowing their father around town. his father is a debt collector.

badger is the second youngest of the brothers, only beaten by hail who he looks up to the most despite him being the baby of the family.

badger is also his father's biggest disappointment. he tried to get involved with the work like scythe did, but it didn't work out. badger tried his best but was incapable of being intimidating. word travels fast in active communities like theirs and badgers reputation was already a goofball screwup with a dud tail. (his tail has a barb but no venom. hit does rattle when he shakes it though because of how it formed in the egg.)

at some point badger convinced hail to help him collect some money from a guy who owed their dad. he thought if they got the job done, his dad would have to see that he was just as capable as scythe. somehow they end up straight up killing the guy (on accident) but word gets back to their dad before they do. their dad ends up reluctantly admitting he was surprised by badgers commitment and proud of him for taking things into his own hands.

tarantula finally decides to give badger a job and makes him a sort of bounty hunter. his job is to go to the people who've run out of chances, and get what's owed them one way or another.

badger, having never purposefully killed before, asks hail for help since he's an animus. hail doesn't use his powers much if at all and feels even less inclined when it's going to be used for killing someone, but badger points out that he'll never have another chance like this and promises to split the earnings 50/50 since badger handles names, locations, and amounts while hail handles accidentally inventing landmines (filling a basket with dragon flame cacti covered with a cloth he enchanted to ignite when touched by their first target)

as time went on they got better about it but always relied on hails magic to never really get their hands dirty.

eventually they have a falling out. hail is tired of being used when he'd rather be woodcarving by himself somewhere quiet. hail decides he needs a place of his own and sets up a little shack by the river just outside of town and stayed there while badger is left to explain to their dad why he suddenly can't do his job anymore.

I'll post more later but here's about the first half maybe?
