Yume Directors getting caught Acting: A series 8
Master Likes a Mystery
Homare hummed along to himself as he made his way to the lounge to grab a nice cup of tea to accompany him in his writing endeavors. He was pleasantly surprised to see both directors there and very nearly greeted them, but was forcibly shushed by Hisoka, who came out of - seemingly - nowhere and placed a hand over his mouth before he could get a word out.
Homare looked at him rather indignantly. Hisoka just looked over at the directors.
“Sagishima,” Mira said, without looking up from the work they were doing, “A cup of tea, would you?” They asked. Yubi bowed slightly, their stance reminiscent of how Homare held himself during rehearsal.
“Of course, Shiki-sama.” They said, before heading into the kitchen. Mira continued to stay seated at the table, scribbling something down on the paper in front of them. Homare was confused. He understood that they were acting as the Leads in the new Winter play, but what he didn’t understand was why. More specifically, why they were practicing in this way. He could understand the directors asking himself and Hisoka to participate in this kind of acting exercise. So why were they doing this?
“Oh? Guests?” Mira asked, looking up and noticing them. “Ah, Mikage-san, Arisugawa-san, what business do you have here?” They leaned back in their chair and regarded them with the confidence that Shiki should have. It was strange to see, Homare could not lie. Of course, he didn’t get to see them act very much. “Would you like a cup of tea?”
“If you’ll have us.” Hisoka said, walking over to the table and taking a seat. Homare followed him, deciding to take up his position as his butler instead of trying to act like an equal. He caught Mira’s eye, who raised a brow slightly at him, but it was subtle enough that he could have imagined it.
“Sagishima, we need an extra cup.” Mira said a little bit louder. Yubi came from the kitchen with a tray with a teapot and two cups on it shortly after. They set it on the table. “Oh, that was quick.” Mira said, genuinely surprised. “It’s almost like you were aware we’d be having guests.”
“I am not omniscient, my lord.” They said, with a small smile. Homare watched as they poured the tea into the cups. Their movements were refined, as if they had practiced the movements a million times. “Though I may have seen them hovering by the door.” They added after a moment.
“And yet you didn’t think to notify me? How rude you’ve made me out to seem.” Mira said with faux offense.
“Two sugars or one?” Yubi asked Hisoka as they presented him with his tea.
“Three.” He said.
“Hisoka-san, that is a tad excessive.” Homare chastised him. Hisoka looked at him. Yubi put three in anyway, an easy smile on their face. “You need not indulge him.”
“Your butler is quite uptight, Mikage-san.” Mira commented. Hisoka shook his head and sighed.
“He’s the best I’ve had, I can put up with it.” They shared a smile. “We interrupted your work, didn’t we? May I ask what it is you were doing?” Mira looked down at the paper in front of them before sighing, sitting back, and taking a sip of tea.
“The budget.” They said, sounding more tired. “My father decided it was high time I could do this kind of work on my own.” Homare wasn’t sure if they were still in character or if they had been referring to Sakyo. Hisoka nodded regardless.
“My lord, perhaps it is time for a well-deserved break so you may catch up with your friend.” Yubi suggested. Mira looked at them and smiled.
“Excellent suggestion.” They said, setting their cup on the table. There was a moment of silence before Homare couldn’t bear it any more.
“What is the point of you two doing this exercise?” He asked. Both directors looked at him in surprise before laughing and looking at each other.
“It’s to help us better understand the characters.” Yubi explained.
“It’s also really fun. Don’t worry, I didn’t force them to do this with me.” Mira assured them, their posture looking a little more natural. “I felt really bad ordering them around, so I only asked them for a few things.”
“I liked doing those things.” Yubi said, sitting down. Homare looked at them and then had an idea.
“I’ll get some more cups. We can’t let this tea go to waste.” He told them, heading into the kitchen. “Also, was it necessary to give Hisoka-kun three sugars?” He asked. Yubi laughed nervously.
“Indulging is okay sometimes…?” They offered as a reason.
“Okay, but, we’re talking about the marshmallow fiend.” Mira had an amused smirk as they said those words. Hisoka didn’t react, just sipping his tea. “He indulges all the time.”
“Fair…” Yubi deflated slightly. Homare returned with the tea cups and poured the tea out for himself and Yubi, before presenting their cup to them with a flourish.

Yume Directors getting caught Acting: A series 7
The Stranger
It was late afternoon, the sun hanging low in the sky, but not yet setting. Omi had thought it would be nice to take pictures of the sky, so he and Taichi were outside on the second floor overlooking the courtyard.
“Omi-kun, isn’t that Mira-san?” Taichi asked, grabbing Omi’s attention that was previously on the clouds. He looked down and saw Mira, his classmate and director, standing near the middle of the courtyard. They were looking around, and their expression was, well, a little frightening. It reminded Omi of when they were annoyed with something. “Is she looking for something?” Taichi leaned on the railing and peered down.
“I don’t know. Do you want to see if we can help?” Omi suggested, but Taichi shook his head.
“Nah! We’re up here to get pictures! It would be awful if we missed the perfect shot.” Omi chuckled and fiddled with his camera.
“Wolf!” Omi fumbled with his camera, glad that the strap was around his neck since it dropped from his hands. He looked around and eventually spotted Yubi running towards Mira. Mira turned to face them, their expression unreadable.
“Zero.” They said, their tone indicating that they weren’t all that happy to see them. Yubi stopped next to them, breathing a little heavy but grinning widely at them.
“Why’d you run off like that?” Yubi’s smile fell into a sort of pout. “I could have been abducted and you wouldn’t have even known.” Mira looked around again.
“I made sure that area was secure, if you had just stayed there-“
“I didn’t want to stay there alone!” Yubi protested. “Take me with you next time!” The grin was back. Mira turned around and Omi was surprised to still see a neutral to angry expression on their face.
“There’s no telling how dangerous it could be, and you still want me to take you with me?” They turned around, pointing a finger gun at Yubi’s forehead. “Are you sure you don’t want to die?” The way they so easily said that line sent chills down his spine. He wasn’t used to seeing the many sides they seemed to have.
Yubi swatted their hand out of their face easily, seemingly unperturbed.
“Of course not! But we’re all each other have! If something happened to you while I was just sitting somewhere safe I-“ Mira sighed heavily and started walking away. “At least listen to me!”
“Are you going to keep talking or are you coming with me?” Mira asked, looking over their shoulder. Yubi paused before laughing, sounding a little like how Taichi laughed, and hurrying to their side to walk in step with them.
Omi and Taichi watched them go into the hallway, before looking at each other.
“Is this going to be a regular thing?” Taichi wondered out loud. Omi chuckled and shrugged, adjusting his camera’s settings.
“I hope so.” He said, having enjoyed seeing the character they usually played being played by someone else for a change. He looked up and saw the most beautiful sky. “Look.” He said, pointing up, before lifting his camera. Taichi made a noise of amazement as Omi’s camera shutter sounded, capturing the sky filled with hues of pink and blue.

Yume Directors getting caught Acting: A series 6
The Great Sardine Search
Pausing on his way home, Yuki thought he’d heard someone familiar. He’d been out shopping for materials, so no one was with him, and he didn’t have a schedule to keep necessarily… But did he really want to be bothered?
He heard the voice again and registered it as his Director. But… they were speaking a little weird. He followed the voice and eventually found out where they were. He frowned when he realized they weren’t alone. Kazunari and Mira were with them.
“-Nyat have ta talk like dis?” Yubi asked, though Yuki hadn’t heard the first part.
“Only if you want to really get into character.” Kazunari told them. Yubi sighed and made a face. But they eventually shook their head, a sure sign of defeat.
“I’ll talk like dis but I’m nyat gonna like it.” They said with a pout. Mira chuckled and pat their head lightly.
“It’s okay, Shiro. It’s your charm point.” Yubi glared at the other director.
“I do nyat wanna hear dat from yous.” They said. “And stahp treatin’ me like a kid!” They huffed, crossing their arms and pouting lightly. Mira laughed good-naturedly.
“Sorry, sorry. I couldn’t help it.” They said. “I’ll be on my best behavior! Promise.”
“You betta be.” Yubi huffed, their position relaxing. Yuki had seen enough.
“I can’t believe you are doing this outside of the dorm now.” He said as he walked over.
“Ah! Yukki!” Kazunari greeted him. “What’re you doing here?” Yuki looked at the directors who seemed less off put by his comment than his sudden appearance.
“I had some shopping to do.” He said shortly, gesturing to the bags.
“We were just… exploring the characters.” Mira said, offering a weak excuse. Yuki crossed his arms.
“Outside the dorm.”
“Well, da sardines aren’t gonna be in da dorms. We had ta come outside ta make it real.” Yubi was still, apparently, in character despite the words they were saying. “Nyuthin’ we coulda done.” They shrugged. Yuki found that amusing, his mouth twitching upwards just a bit.
“Maybe we should call the adventure off for today and go home?” Mira suggested.
“Don’t let me stop you.” Yuki said, dismissively waving his hand as he headed back towards the path home.
“Nyope, we’re gonna go home togetha.” Yubi said, hurrying up to Yuki’s side and falling into step with him.
“Not if you keep talking like that.” He deadpanned. Yubi looked at him with a confused gaze. “Nyope?” He asked, his amusement showing on his face. Yubi’s cheeks flushed slightly.
“Ah, oh nyo- Ah! I did it again!” They shouted, flustered. Kazunari and Mira laughed behind them and followed at a short distance. The way home wasn’t so bad.

Yume Directors getting caught Acting: A series 5
Alex in Wonderland
Masumi was walking out into the courtyard when he spotted the Directors sitting under one of the trees. He redirected his path towards them before someone grabbed his arm. He turned sharply to glare at whoever had stopped him. It was Itaru, who ignored his glare and shifted his gaze towards the directors.
“Just listen.” He said, cryptically. Masumi huffed, trying to free his arm. Itaru let him go easily, but Masumi did stay and observed the directors. Mira was reading a book, and Yubi looked to just be lounging.
“How many nonsensical things can you say at one time?” Mira asked Yubi, with a hint of annoyance. Yubi twirled a leaf around, rubbing it between their fingers.
“Why do the things I say have to be nonsensical? Maybe it is you who says things that don’t make sense.” Yubi said back. Mira huffed, turning a page in their book.
“That wouldn’t make sense.” They retorted. “‘The only things you can see and understand are the things which can only be seen.’ That is obvious. Why would you say it like it means something else?”
“Perhaps you should stop being so serious, then.” Yubi suggested. “Maybe then you’ll see the meaning that is right under your nose.” They swept the leaf under Mira’s face, which resulted in their face scrunching up in discomfort as it tickled their nose.
Masumi realized that they were trying to act as Alex and the Mad Hatter in their new play.
“She’s playing my part again.” Masumi said, feeling warm. Itaru nodded.
“They’ve been at it for a while, I’m surprised they’ve lasted this long. I think Yubi’s taken inspiration from our resident nonsensical poet.” He hummed, an amused smile appearing on his face. It annoyed Masumi. It couldn’t mean anything good. “Maybe I should ask Homare-san for some tips.”
“Don’t.” Masumi said flatly. The directors bantered back and forth for a short while longer until Mira snapped their book shut.
“I think that’s good.” They said. Yubi looked at them.
“What do you mean?” They asked. Mira looked at them. “What’s good? The tea?” Mira gave them a flat look. Yubi laughed at their own antics, which caused Mira to laugh with them. “Alright, alright, I was having too much fun.”
“That’s fine.” Mira assured. “It was fun to do something like that, I agree.”
“You’re still talking like you’re in character too.” Yubi pointed out. Mira paused. Yubi laughed at their slightly disturbed expression.
“Sorry, I guess I shouldn’t be such a hypocrite then.” They said sheepishly.
“She’s so cute.” Masumi said. Itaru groaned next to him.

I’mma do this before I decide I shouldn’t - Hi. My self-insert/a3 Oc is Izumi’s younger sister/sibling because I had a fascination with the family name Tachibana for a long time and had an OC named Mira Tachibana a long time ago so when first playing A3 it felt like fate (cheesy corny I know). So depending on how I feel either they are - A director; helping out with the company; just a fan - I have a history of being an Assistant Director, and also I was a ‘business student’ (Accounting Major) so I stuck them in Yosei Uni so they could meet both Tsuzuru and Omi.  My ‘blorbos’ (I never use that word forgive me) Are Omi, Hisoka, and Misumi (With a splash of Tasuku and Tsuzuru) and my boy is Taichi. If they are just a fan, then Taichi is the focus - not romantically, I’m just literally a huge fan of Taichi. But if they are a director, they’re the Spring and Autumn director (With my best friend’s being Summer and Winter) - and are in many of the same classes as Omi since they are in the same Major and the same age. I am a writer, so they become fast friends with Tsuzuru. Misumi, Hisoka, and Tasuku are specifically tied to being involved with the Mankai Company in some way shape or form, however. I kinda wish I had something more interesting to share, like ‘They’re a badass ex-gangster who knew Omi back in his gang days’ or ‘They’re from the organization and were teamed up with April August and December’ Buuuuuuuut I love A3 for its found family troupe so putting angst into my comfort material is only okay if its a little bit.
I... I have a yume canon timeline with my best friend for our yume characters and have written a lot but not enough. Slow burn, Mira doesn't get with their blorbos until year 2 during the story for Misoshiosa Island.
im curious for those of u who have a3 ocs/self inserts or if u just daydream about being in the mankai-verse
how do u end up friends/dating/whatevs w ur chosen blorbo??
pls reblog n tell me i literally would love 2 know

Yume Directors getting caught Acting: A series 4
Sympathy for the Angel
Tsumugi was heading to the practice room early with Tasuku to get some extra rehearsal in when he realized the light to the room was already on. Curious, he silently signaled to Tasuku. Tasuku looked at the room with a slightly guarded expression and went ahead. Tsumugi assumed it was in case of a potential intruder.
Tasuku looked into the window of the door before gesturing for Tsumugi to come to him. Tsumugi peered into the window and saw the two directors talking with each other, but the movements they were doing looked very familiar. Tsumugi pressed a finger to his lips and then opened the door slightly. Their voices filtered out into the hall.
“...There’s no need for you to remain in the Human World, Michael.” Mira was reciting one of Tasuku’s, Raphael’s, lines. It didn’t sound like they were just reading from the script or saying the words just to help someone rehearse. It sounded like they were trying to be Raphael. There was a look of concern on Mira’s face as they looked at their best friend.
“...But… Raphael… Her name is still on the list. I… want to watch over her until the end.” Tsumugi’s gaze swept over to Yubi, who was looking down, kneeling, like they were looking into the human world. The emotion in their voice reminded him of how he usually spoke the line, but there was a subtle difference. He couldn’t place what it was just yet.
“If you want to watch over her, you can do so from Heaven.” Mira said, and a moment passed before he saw their expression morph into one of desperation. “If you stay in the human world any longer, you won’t be able to return!” Yubi didn’t even look up, and Tsumugi could see that emotion was coursing through Mira.
“Even so… I want to stay by her side, Raphael.” Yubi spoke so softly, yet clearly able to be heard. Tsumugi’s eyes widened slightly and he realized that Yubi’s expression was one of love. It was a painful kind of love, one that could never work, and one that Michael was aware of.
“Suit yourself, Idiot!” Mira said, angrily, exhibiting the exact anger that Tasuku used during rehearsal. As Mira stormed off, Yubi sighed and stared longingly into the human world, before looking up to watch their friend’s back. They smiled a very sad smile before looking back down.
    “Perhaps… I am an idiot.”
Tsumugi and Tasuku watched, and Tsumugi hoped they would continue. Eventually he got his wish as Yubi shifted and Mira spun around, fear on their face now.
“Michael!” They shouted, rushing forward to ‘catch’ their ‘falling’ friend. “I warned you! You’re such a f-fool Micheal.” Tsumugi’s heart twisted at the very real feeling of anguish coming from their voice. Yubi reached up a hand to touch Mira’s face, as if their vision was starting to go and they wanted to know who it was.
“Raphael…? You came for me…?” Tsumugi noted the slight change of the line, feeling like it added a lot to the moment.
“Yes, that’s right… I’m… carrying your soul.” It almost seemed to Tsumugi that Mira was getting choked up.
“Did… did her name…?” Yubi spoke with some difficulty, not even finishing the line, but Mira nodded anyway.
“It’s off the list. You’re… You’re an absolute fool.” Mira hiccuped and Tsumugi realized that they were actually crying.
“Don’t cry… Raphael… I’m not miserable.” Yubi wiped Mira’s face gently. Mira shook their head.
“You’re such a fool…!” They reiterated, bowing their head even further. Yubi chuckled weakly.
“Please stop… calling me a fool.” They paused, continuing to wipe Mira’s face. “Thank you, Raphael… You went through… so much trouble.” A sob wracked through Mira’s body.
“If you had- if only you’d listened to me-!” Mira said, lifting their head to look at their friend. They were angry, but they were much more sad. “You can’t- You know you can’t return to being an angel. You’re…” They had to pause as they cried. “Your existence is going to dis-disappear… forever…” They held Yubi closer as they said that.
“...Even so. I was… able to protect my first love.” Yubi said, softly like they were trying to console their friend. “And my good friend is seeing my soul off. I’m happy…” Mira’s grip on Yubi tightened visibly.
“You-” They struggled to get the line out. “You’re not a fool. I'll take it back! You’re admirable for- for protecting the person you loved. …Unlike me.” They weren’t actively crying anymore, sniffling here and there. “B-but still! Falling in love with a human will never bring happiness… I lost…” They choked up, having to take a moment. “I lost the person I loved, and my good friend.” They sniffled, tears falling down their face. Yubi had dropped their hand in the middle of the soliloquy and had their eyes closed. “Right, Michael…?” After Mira said that line, Yubi smiled gently, like they were content. Mira’s expression changed, they were holding back tears, as they acted out laying Yubi down on the ground, and then watching as ‘Michael’ faded away, floating up into the sky and disappearing into nothingness. Mira clasped their hands together and openly cried for a moment, curling into themself. That is, until Yubi got up from the floor and placed a hand on their back, looking at them with concern.
“...Was that too tough for you?” They asked, to which Mira shook their head, having a hard time stopping their tears. “It’s okay, take your time.”
“I don’t think we should be watching this.” Tasuku said quietly to Tsumugi, snapping Tsumugi out of it. “...Tsumu, you’re crying.” Tsumugi lifted a hand up to his face to feel a few tears coming from his eyes.
“Oh, I am…” He commented, wiping his face. “That was quite the performance, wasn’t it?” He asked with a small laugh. Tasuku nodded, looking back into the room. Tsumugi looked too, seeing that Mira had calmed down.
“...Sorry.” They apologized to Yubi. Yubi shook their head.
“Don’t be.” They said. “You got really into character.” They chuckled lightly. Mira huffed out a laugh, looking much better already.
“It was so much easier getting into character this time than all the others.” They said, standing. Yubi stood too, brushing off their clothes. “I wonder why that is…?” Yubi hummed with a small smile.
“I was afraid this scene would be a little too real for you.” Mira shook their head.
“No, don’t worry about that.” They said with a small laugh. “Gosh, I’m tired now.” They stretched while Yubi laughed.
“We should probably go down to the lounge. I’ve still got some time until Winter Troupe’s rehearsal, so we can talk for a bit.” Mira looked at them with a grateful smile. Tsumugi realized they were walking towards the door.
Tsumugi didn’t know what to do. He didn’t think the directors would have wanted to be watched. He didn’t have time to figure out what to do because Tasuku opened the door and walked in.
“Oh! Takato-san.” Yubi greeted him. “Did you just get here?” Tsumugi figured he should walk in behind him.
“We did.” Tasuku answered, lying. Tsumugi saw a relieved smile on Yubi’s face.
“We’ll get out of your way then. Extra practice, right?” They asked with a small laugh. Tsumugi nodded with a slightly guilty smile.
“We got some inspiration for a scene. We’ll run it by you later.” He told them. Yubi nodded with a smile as they ushered their friend out.
“Have fun! I’ll see you at rehearsal time.” They left the room and closed the door.
“...Do you think we should have lied to them?” Tsumugi asked Tasuku. Tasuku nodded. Tsumugi still wanted to say something. “We’ll have to tell them if we use anything we just saw.”
“Not necessarily.” Tasuku gruffed, shaking out his limbs a little, preparing to get into character. Tsumugi looked at his childhood friend and then back at the door where the directors had just gone. “I don’t think I can cry on stage.” Tasuku said, as if reading Tsumugi’s mind.
“That’s too bad.” Tsumugi said with a slightly joking tone.

Yume Directors getting caught Acting: A series 3
How Wonderfully Picaresque
“Oi, Lansky, get yer ugly mug over here.” Banri had just opened the door to the rehearsal room, his mouth open to say something, Juza right behind, but he paused when he heard Yubi, in a tone of voice he’d never heard them use, say one of his lines. Or, what sounded like one of his lines.
“Ya wanna say that again?” Mira said with about as much vitriol as Juza usually used with him.
“Get. Yer ugly mug. Over here.” Yubi said, their words holding venom they’d never seen before. Mira stood from where they had been sitting in a chair and got in Yubi’s space, but Yubi didn’t flinch, didn’t move, just glared right back at their friend.
“Now say that to my face. I dare you.” Banri saw Yubi smirk.
“It’s not a secret that yer ugly.” What happened next surprised both Banri and Juza, given that the other tried to move past him in response. Mira grabbed the collar of Yubi’s shirt.
“You better watch your mouth if you know what’s good for you.” Mira warned, voice low and threatening.
“Should we do something?” Taichi asked, making Banri look behind himself to see the rest of the troupe. “I mean! We need to get Sakyo-san right?!” He looked antsy. He couldn’t blame the kid, this was an unsettling sight given that those two were best friends. Taichi started hurrying down the hall
“I’m right here Nanao.” Sakyo said from his spot next to Omi. To Taichi’s credit, he probably didn’t see him there.
“You’re right there! Do something!” Taichi pointed towards the directors who were still in character, but a few feet away from each other now.
“You need me, Lansky. You can’t deny that.” Cocky Yubi was pretty cool, Banri couldn’t lie.
“I don’t need you.” Mira spat. “Yer just going to get in my way.” Yubi shrugged in a way that Banri recognized as how he usually shrugged, not how he shrugged as Luciano.
“Say what you want, but yer stuck with me. The boss’s orders.”
“They’ve strayed off script…” Sakyo murmured.
“I think they weren’t even on script to begin with.” Banri added. He had memorized the whole thing, and he didn’t recognize a single one of these lines. “It’s like they’re just trying to get into the character’s heads.”
The directors had said a few more things that Banri hadn’t been paying attention enough to catch before the atmosphere became lighter.
“Thank you so much for doing this for me, Yubi.” Mira thanked their friend with an easy smile. Yubi smiled back, their usual tone back in their voice.
“Of course! I hope that helped you understand the direction you should guide them in.” Mira nodded, picking the script up off the table. “Though, not using the script was pretty tough for me.” They laughed.
“Sorry. I wanted to try it street act style to see if that got me out of the mindset of their mannerisms being set in stone.” Mira apologized, laughing a little too. They looked towards the clock. “Is it really…?” Banri locked eyes with them and they paled.
“Oh! How long have you guys been standing there?” Yubi asked, looking a bit nervous. Banri shrugged.
“A while.” He said with a smirk. He walked into the room, the rest following him. “Seeing you two look about ready to fight each other was-”
    “So scary!” Taichi interrupted.
“It was very convincing.” Omi added with a small chuckle.
“It could use some work. The line delivery was a bit awkward.” Sakyo criticized. Yubi laughed as they moved past the Autumn Troupe.
“I’m not as familiar with the characters, so that might be why. Anyway, I’ll see you guys later. Have fun in rehearsal~.” They said before closing the door. Banri looked back at their director and realized that they had their script on their face.
“What, you embarrassed or something?” Banri asked them, lowering their script. They glared up at him with a pout.
“You guys could have said something! You let us cut into our precious practice time!” They said indignantly.
“Can I grab Settsu like that during the play?” Juza asked, looking at the script.
“Ah… I’d rather you didn’t…” Mira said, but Banri turned to him and smirked. He was going to change how he acted based on how he’d see how casually Yubi had played Luciano, why couldn’t Juza do the same?
“I say do it.” He told him. Juza glared at him before nodding resolutely.
“Please… why?” Mira bemoaned, putting their script back on their face.

Yume Directors getting caught Acting: A Series 2
Water Me!
“O-Oi!” Tenma stopped short when he heard one of the directors yell inside the rehearsal room he was about to go into. “Th-the tale you- wait. That’s not right…” he peered inside, seeing both directors standing there with scripts in their hands.
Yubi patiently waited for Mira to collect themself, because they seemed frazzled.
“Oi, Hack, why’re you just standing there?” Yuki asked, coming up behind him. Tenma looked back, about to indignantly reply.
“Here, how about we try going off script?” Yubi suggested inside the room. “I know comedy is kinda hard for you.”
“Maybe…” Mira sounded unsure. Tenma looked back in the room, watching Yubi as they took the script out of Mira’s hand.
“Just follow my lead.” They said as they placed the scripts down on the table. They then cleared their throat and turned back towards their friend.
“Today I will weave you a tale, a tale of a young boy who wet his bed-“
“Oi! Didn’t I tell you not to bring that up again?” Despite the awkward lilt to their voice at having to jump straight into character, they managed to deliver. Yubi chuckled, amused.
“Then how about one of a young lad who tripped over his own two feet?” They asked, waiting for Mira’s reaction.
“You best not be talking about me!” They said, crossing their arms and huffing.
“You’re acting more like Tenma-kun than Alibaba.” Yubi said gently, breaking character. Mira sighed, running a hand through their hair.
“I know… It’s just- Tsuzuru-san wrote the characters specifically for them, right? I thought maybe using that knowledge would help.” Yubi laughed lightly.
“Just change up your speech pattern and mannerisms. Tenma-kun plays Alibaba very loosely, he doesn’t cross his arms. He instead will put hands on his hips.” Yubi was in full director mode. It was a little weird to see the directors interacting this way.
“...Their difference in skill level is super apparent.” Yuki said behind Tenma. Tenma looked at him but said nothing. There wasn’t anything he could say, he didn’t want to flat out agree with him, but he was right.
“Can we try again?” Mira asked.
“Of course.” Yubi said with a smile as Tenma turned his attention back to the scene.
“Why are we all standing out here~?” Misumi asked as the rest of the Troupe walked up. Tenma shushed them and quickly looked back inside the room.
“-about a young lad who tripped over his own feet?” Yubi asked again.
“I don’t know who you’re talking about.” Mira said indignantly, placing their hands on their hips. “It better not be me.”
“Who said it was? Not everything I say is about you.” Yubi said, keeping their expression neutral now. Mira sputtered slightly.
“W-well, then who is it about?” They asked, recovering. Or, rather, doing well in acting flustered.
“Oh? Are you interested in listening to me now? I thought you only cared for legends and myths.” Yubi placed a hand on their hip.
“...” Mira was quiet for a moment. “I like your stories.” They said quietly. Yubi blinked, surprised.
“What?” They asked. Mira turned away from them.
“I said ‘I like the glory.’” They turned back around, a confident smirk on their face. “What, have you talked so much you’ve lost your ability to listen?”
The delivery of the line was a little harsh, but if done right, Tenma could see it being comedic. It didn’t really come across that way, however, and Mira knew it. They slouched. “... That didn’t come out the way I meant it to.” Yubi laughed.
“That’s okay. Comedy takes as much practice as any other acting. I was surprised you wanted to try it.” They said walking over to their friend to pat their shoulder. Mira just sighed and looked towards the clock, but saw Tenma instead.
“Uh.” They made a noise, and Tenma dipped back behind the wall.
“Why are you hiding?” Yuki asked, raising a brow. Tenma didn’t really know, and couldn’t really answer.
Yubi poked their head out the door the next moment.
“Oh! You’re all here!” They said, surprised. “Uh… how long have you been here?” They asked, looking a little nervous.
“Not long-“ Tenma tried to say, but Yuki cut him off.
“Since before you guys went off script.” He said. Yubi’s smile became tight.
“I see. Well, we should get rehearsal started. I didn’t realize what time it was, that’s my bad.” They said, gesturing for them to come into the room. Tenma walked in, looking at Mira, who was standing in one of the corners with their head against the wall.
“What’s wrong with her?” Muku asked out of concern. Mira waved their hand.
“I’m fine.” They said. “Let me crumble away over here for a moment.”
Tenma decided to disregard them entirely, giving them their wish of being ignored. They couldn’t afford to have a director like them. He looked at Yubi, and then nodded to himself.
Yubi was a much better director.

Yume Directors getting caught Acting: A series 1
Romeo and Julius
“Let's go on a journey together, Julius. Let's run out of this cramped town and travel around the world.” Sakuya, who had just been about to enter the rehearsal room, stopped just short of the door. It was open, and he could hear Director Kyuki saying his lines.
“Sakuya-kun, why’d you stop?” Tsuzuru asked, walking up. Sakuya turned to look at him and put a finger to his lips. Behind Tsuzuru was Masumi and Citron.
“Romeo, you have strength, and I have wisdom. Together, I'm sure we can accomplish anything.” Sakuya peered into the room and saw both directors standing face to face, with smiles displayed across their faces. They walked in the same direction, but Yubi turned around to walk back into the center of the room, acting like they were walking with someone else. Sakuya watched, aware of the others also trying to look in behind him.
Mira turned shortly after, their expression becoming one of disbelief.
“Romeo... Are you Romeo Montague? You've got to be lying. Are you really Romeo from the Montague family?” Yubi turned around, to face their friend, their easy expression falling into a troubled one. “Romeo, why must you be Romeo Montague?!” The inflection Mira put into the line made it feel even more like a real betrayal.
“Be it your family or name, throw it all away, Julius. We have an ever bigger dream than that!” Yubi said, copying some of the moves Sakuya put in. “Don’t let our families get in the way of what we want!” The adlib was said with the same energy that Mira had sent their way.
“I…” Mira backed up, hesitating. They swallowed and shook their head, before their expression hardened and they glared at Yubi. “No. I can’t throw away my family.”
“Julius!” Yubi shouted as Mira turned around sharply.
“Montagues and Capulets are enemies.” Mira said without turning around. They started walking, Yubi shouting out Julius’ name once more.
“Wow,” Itaru said, making Sakuya jump as he hadn’t realized that he’d gotten there, “Didn’t know they could act like that.”
“Oh, there you guys are.” Yubi said, noticing them. Sakuya looked back to see Mira with their face in their hands. “I hope you guys are ready for your final rehearsal before the dress rehearsal.”
“Have you two been holding back on us?” Tsuzuru asked, walking into the room.
“I’m going to perform just like you did.” Masumi said, walking over to the director who had played his part. They looked at him, and Sakuya finally saw that they were red in the face.
“Don’t! It was garbage!” They protested. “Just, do it how we’ve rehearsed please.”
Sakuya was definitely going to take some notes from what he’d just seen, no matter what they said.

Misumi will always have a place in my heart.
The night that the Sky Pirates event ended two years ago, was the night I left an abusive relationship. It was the first event I tried to whale for, I got a bloomed Sky, and cried about it. My first A3 oshi, thank you Misumi.

How the A3! characters address my Yume Character
Because I’m feeling down and need to get a boost.
Spring:
Sakuya- When they first meet, he only uses director to address both of them, but eventually will start using Mira’s name when they aren’t in rehearsal. [Mira-san]
Masumi- He will only refer to her as director and no one else. He also heeds to her request of never speaking her name. [Director]
Tsuzuru- At first, he’s very formal, calling her Tachibana-san and Director only. But, as they go to school together and start to get closer, he eventually uses her name. [Tachibana-san, Director, Mira-san]
Itaru- Before they realize they both play video games, he only calls her director. After they play video games together, however, he will sometimes use her gamertag, and her name [Mira-san]
Citron- Again, will first call her director, but will come up with many nicknames for her as time goes on. Eventually, with the introduction of Kazunari, he adapts the nickname Mimi for her. [Mimi, Mira, Director]
Chikage- Their relationship is rocky, but he interchangeably uses Mira-san and Director. [Mira-san, Director]
Summer:
Tenma- Like Sakuya, he uses director, however that is dropped quickly as the directors figure out where they fit. Mira tells the Summer Troupe to just use her name. [Mira-san]
Yuki- N o one can escape his nicknames. I think he’d take one look at what she wears everyday and call her a blueberry. It sounds cute, but it’s pointing out that she only wears blue. [Mira-san, Blueberry(Subject to change)]
Muku- He’d take a while to get used to her name, but he would eventually use it. [Mira-san, Mira-chan]
Misumi- Straight up just uses her name and a the nickname Kazunari gives her. [Mira, Mimi]
Kazunari- It’s been said before, but [Mimi]
Kumon- See, this is where it gets different. Kumon would see how Juza and Mira interact, hear Juza call her Mira-nee, and try to adapt it. Yes, Mira has a sibling type relationship with the Hyodo’s. [Mira-san, Onee-san]
Autumn:
Banri- Despite having a sibling type relationship, he usually just calls her by her name. [Mira-san]
Juza- As stated with Kumon, Juza has used Mira-nee. [Director, Mira-san, Mira-nee]
Taichi- After their debut he is on the friendliest of terms with Mira, and calls her as such. [Director, Mira-san, Mira-chan]
Omi- The evolution of their relationship is much like Tsuzuru’s, as they met in class (Both of them are business majors, I didn’t even know he was until recently) so he calls her Tachibana-san for a while, and Director. But they become closer in year 2. [Tachibana-san, Director, Mira-san, Mira]
Sakyo- He calls her Tachibana until her sister starts helping out with the company, which is around the same time as the Autumn Troupe Debut. So he calls her Director Tachibana when Izumi is around, and switches to just Tachibana when she isn’t. Eventually, he will call her a brat, and that’ll be how he addresses her at times (But honestly, he calls everyone that). [Tachibana, Director Tachibana.]
Azami- Of course, he’ll start out not referring to her at all, using phrases like “The other director” or “The louder one” if asked. So when he joins the Autumn Troupe, he starts calling her Director, and later Mira-san, because almost everyone else does. [Director, Mira-san]
Winter:
Tsumugi- Despite Mira not being his director, he still refers to her as Director Tachibana for a while, until he gets the okay to call her by her name. [Director Tachibana, Mira-san, Mira-chan]
Tasuku: He also refers to her as Director Tachibana, until he is able to drop the title. Of course, through their relationship, he eventually uses her name. [Director Tachibana, Tachibana, Mira] (He refers to Izumi as Izumi-san)
Hisoka- Another one who adopted the nickname Kazunari gave her. [Mira-san, Mimi]
Homare- He’s the one who comes up with the Equinox and Solstice director names, so that is how he refers to them for a short while. Specifically for Mira, he will call her Tachibana-kun, and Mira-kun. [Equinox Director, Tachibana-kun, Mira-kun]
Azuma- He quickly adapts the Equinox and Solstice director names, finding them endearing. However, as that fades, he does start referring to her by name. [Equinox Director, Mira-san, Mira-chan]
Guy- He only uses her last name, and refers to Izumi as Izumi-san. [Tachibana]
Bonus? How my Yume character addresses them? (Formality level is important, it shows the progression of relationships- These are grouped up but they’re all used at different times for different reasons.)
Sakuya- [Sakuma-kun, Sakuya-kun, Saku] Masumi- [Masumi, or his full name if he’s in trouble] Tsuzuru- [Tsuzuru-san, Tsuzuru-kun, Tsuzu] Itaru- [Chigasaki-san, Chigasaki, Itaru-san, Taruchi] Citron- [Citron, Birthday buddy] Chikage- [Utsuki-san, Utsuki, Cabbage] Tenma- [Sumeragi-san, Tenma-kun] Yuki- [Rurikawa-kun, Yuki-kun] Muku- [Muku, Mukkun] Misumi [Ikaruga-san, Misumi-san, Misumi] Kazunari- [Miyoshi-san, Kazunari-kun, Kazu, Kaz] Kumon- [Kumon-kun, Kumon] Banri- [Settsu, Banri-kun] Juza- [Juza-kun, Sweets] Taichi- [Taichi-kun, Taicchan] Omi- [Fushimi-san, Fushimi-kun, Omi-san, Omi-kun, Omi] Sakyo- [Furuichi-san, Sakyo-san] Azami- [Azami-kun] Tsumugi- [Tsukioka-san, Tsumugi-san] Tasuku- [Takato, Tasuku] Hisoka- [Hisoka-kun, HIsoka] Homare [Arisugawa, Homare-san] Azuma- [Yukishiro, Azuma-san] Guy [Guy-san]
Did that give me a boost? Not really. But it was nice.

This my art. I drew this. Me. I drew this real fast. It’s my Yume Character, who looks almost exactly like me, btw. (The black part is a shadow from me taking a picture of my note book, because I do traditional and transfer it to digital to color. But I’m definitely picturing someone standing there.)

A Little About Me, Mira
My Yume character, Tachibana Mira, I mean. (But also me)
The first few things you need to know, if you’re even interested, is that in Yume Canon, Mira is 20 starting out. She has the same birthday as Citron (May 15th!) because it is My Actual Birthday. She and her Best Friend (of 8 years) Kyuki Yubi (They/them) start out co-directing the Mankai Company. Eventually, they end up directing the Spring and Autumn Troupes (Equinox) and Summer and Winter Troupes (Solstice) respectfully. Mira is the same height as Taichi (172cm)
She is Tachibana Izumi’s Younger Sister, and Izumi is 24 chasing her curry dreams and working at a curry restaurant hoping to one day open her own. She does make appearances frequently at the Mankai Company Dorm.
A few things you don’t need to know, but should be aware of are: Mira is Me and I am Mira. That is my name. Kyuki Yubi is the yume character for my IRL Best Friend of 10 years. I got their permission to talk about Yubi as much as I please ^~^. We got into A3! at the same time. I also use Yume as a way to cope, and a lot of what I write is very personal and this is my way of pushing my boundaries. If you don’t like it, just don’t interact. I am also American. It’s unfortunate.
More lighthearted things that can be treated as fun facts~: Mira starts out with She/Her pronouns but eventually will go by Any of them, so in works that happen after act 2 begins (somewhere in there) the pronouns used will change. I’m only kinda sorry if its confusing. | I actively dislike Utsuki Chikage (for personal reasons) and that is explored in writing. | Tasuku is the character I mainly write for but I’m in denial about liking. | Taichi is my favorite Character and Autumn is my favorite Troupe. This is very apparent in my writing.
There are also Yume Ships, obviously. However, if poly isn’t your cup of tea, feel free to leave. The door is right there.
The Sankaku Senshi consists of Misumi, Hisoka, and Omi, and Translates to Triangle Warriors. This is the ship name for the open relationship that Mira and them share (they do have other relationships). However, The Sankaku Senshi is actually the name of the group the three of them make in Act 2, suggested by Hisoka. Tasuku eventually joins (Unfortunately). | FuyuFairies is the ship name for Fuyupoly and Yubi. | I actually ship FuyuFairies and they actually ship Sankaku Senshi. My best friend made little discord emotes for them too and it’s great. | FuyuFairies happens first in the timeline. FuyuFairies is adorable and sweet and very very very good I personally enjoy this very much, but that might just be because I just want my best friend to be happy and Winter Troupe brings them so much joy. I don’t know if I’ll post much of my Fuyufairies writing because I write those things for my best friend, but they will be mentioned and implied and stated in many other things.

This lovely artwork was made by my best friend and Solstice Director @rabid-kantoku-kun! It was a Valentine’s Day gift~ I am forever grateful to have a best friend who will feed me.
*The outfit that I’m wearing in this is my Winter Outfit that won’t appear in early installments of my writing, until I reach the point in the story where Omi has this sweater*
-Fun fact, on EN my username was Omi’s Sweater. I love this sweater, not just because it’s Omi’s, but because I want this sweater. Excuse me, sir, can I have it?/j
