Hello! My name is Aaron Elric. I'm 17 years old and the oldest child of Edward and Winry Elric. I come from a pretty big family--having 4 younger siblings I'm always looking out for. I'm currently a high school student, studying as an alchemist. I hope to one day work at the State Alchemy Research Center in Central City, created by my dad and Uncle Al, along with the help of Fuhrer Mustang. "What kind of stories?" Aaron asked, raising an eyebrow in interest. It wasn't that he was trying to pry or anything like that--he was simply curious and was always one to enjoy hearing a good story or two.
"Ah, I see," Aaron said blinking, before offering a smile. "Well, there's nothing wrong with being on the smaller side. I've got plenty of friends who are way shorter than I am--but they're all great just the way they are," he laughed a little before adding, "though being tall has it's perks as well."
“Yeah,” Aaron said, smiling. “He’s pretty well known—especially around Central; so I guess it’s not too surprising that you know him,” he laughed a little, “especially with Mr. Mustang being your older brother.”
He raised his eyebrows. “Wow. Premature, then? It must have been scary for your parents—your brother too,” he said, frowning just the slightest. He knew how risky premature births could be—they could even cause all type of problems later in life too. He then offered a smile. “But at least you’re okay now, right?”

"If you're interested then I would be more than willing to show you around the canyon trails sometime--if you'd like, that is," he offered, smiling. It wasn't typical of him to  just invite people on hiking trips with him--but well, he enjoyed the company, and Catherine seemed like a girl he would enjoy getting know a little bit better.
At her comment he blinked a few times--slightly surprised at her reaction. Was she blushing? He laughed before rubbing the back of his head. "Ah, thank you! I'm glad it shows--I guess that just means I'm working hard, right?"
As he watched her settle down from her previous comment, he directed his finger tot he symbols printed into the book. "These are the ones that you're going to want to memorize--it's called the fundamentals for a reason, after all; it's stuff that you've got to know," He said, pulling out a piece of paper as he traced a circle on the surface of it. "Not exactly," he started, looking down at his own circle. "It's not necessary for it to be spot on--though you shouldn't have something that looks nothing like a circle either," he said before smiling. "You just have to get as close to perfect as you can--and if you can't, then you just keep working on it."

"Yeah," Aaron started, his smile softening. "She means a lot to me.... Maybe she's a little crazy at times but well," he said, a light blush crossing his cheeks as he rubbed the back of his head, "I wouldn't want her to be any other way," he laughed.
Upon hearing his father's sigh, Aaron quickly looked back up, his attention focused on him as he frowned. "I'm not sure. It's... shocking, to say the least. But I mean, mom knows a lot about human anatomy--if anything, maybe she could help you."
“Yes, I do,” Aaron said, straightening out. “Her name is Isabelle Lowe—I got to school with her,” he explained. “She’s a bright girl, but has a ton of energy. I swear, she bounces off the walls at times.”
He figured that his father would have been curious about his girlfriend. Well, it was obvious just by the look on his face and the tone in his voice—even if he tried to hide it. But he couldn’t blame him, he supposed it was sort of a big deal when your first born started dating.
“We’ve been dating for about two years now,” he continued, rubbing his head before smiling. “And don’t worry—you and mom know about it.”

“That’s right,” Aaron agreed, laughing lightly as he adjusted the strap of his bag hanging over his shoulder. “I’ll try to make into a better habit,” he said, offering a smile.
“Oh, yes,” he responded quickly—he was used to this question by now. “He’s my father,” he grinned.
He raised his eyebrows in surprise at the mention of the name Mustang. “Ah, no way. Really?” he asked, blinking. “I wasn’t aware that Mr. Mustang had a younger sister—how much younger are you than him?” Well, this was certainly surprising news to him. You learn something new everyday, he supposed.

He laughed a little as he leaned back in his chair, turning his head towards the window. "You could say I have pretty good focus. I'm able to get myself absorbed in a book once I pick it up," he remarked, offering a smile before returning his gaze to the valley. "Actually yeah. I do quite a bit of hiking and rock climbing. I love nature and being outdoors--and to go along with that, it puts me in pretty good shape; so it's sort of a win-win," he chuckled lightly before leaning back towards the table.
He noticed the hesitant look in Catherine's eyes as she stared at the book in front of her. It's not like alchemy was anything scary, but he could understand why it was a rather intimidating topic. "Of course!" He said, grinning. "You can do anything if you try hard and give your all into what you want to do. I know you can do this," he said in attempt to encourage her a bit.

He blinked at her mention of alchemy. “Ah, I see,” he said, raising his eyebrows. “So you have some interest in alchemy then?” he asked, smiling politely. “What made you pick up on alchemy? Your brother?”
He paused upon realizing he hadn’t introduced himself yet. Jeeze, he really wasn’t paying attention today. “Oh, I’m Aaron. Aaron Elric,” he smiled, holding out a hand. “It’s a  pleasure to meet you, Emma.”

"Yeah," Aaron laughed, pulling out a chair as he took a seat next to Catherine. "A lot of there windows give a really great view of the valley too--it's really quite breath taking," he said, turning his gaze toward the open window. He really had to go another camping trip sometime soon--he could use it.
He sighed, smiling as he bent down, pulling a few books from his bag. "Alright, let's start here," he said, flipping the book open to the first page. "This volume basically covers the fundamentals. It may seem a little hard at first--but after a while you'll get into the swing of things."

I decided to stay home since I had some studying I wanted to get done myself—but I’ve also got a hiking trip planned with my girlfriend for tomorrow,” he said, rubbing his head. “Though I may need to cancel on her now that you seem to have a… head injury.”

Aaron watched his father carefully, studying his every move. His mind simply couldn’t help but wander—what had happened to him? Had he learned or seen something he wasn’t supposed to? Or was he simply in the wrong place at the wrong time? Either way… it wasn’t going to be easy to explain to everyone else.
“Yeah, a few days early, actually,” Aaron said, pulling a book from the shelf, flipping through it carefully. “You headed off to Central on Monday and we weren’t expecting you home until Sunday—two days from now. You were visiting with Uncle Al and the fuhrer to go over some new plans you had for the State Alchemy program.”

"Maybe I know them," Aaron said, smiling. "After all, Resembool is one of those towns where it seems like everyone knows everyone." It was true, really. Aaron felt like he knew just about everyone there--and he didn't even really live there anymore. He supposed that it helped seeing as his parents were relatively well known.
Aaron picked up the book laying in front of him so that she could see the cover. "Well, I'm mainly focused on the basics. I've master the fundamentals--though I still feel as if I have so much more to learn," he sighed, leaning back. "Though I've also taken an interest in alkahestry lately as well."

“Alright, that sounds fair enough,” Aaron complied, laughing just the slightest. He hadn’t been totally sure who’s fault it was at either—perhaps it was the both of their faults. Well, either way, it didn’t make a difference not.
He smiled, watching her shift from left to right. “That’s exactly where my train of thought was,” he said sheepishly. “I picked up this book on alkahestry at the library,” he said, raising the book in his hand. “And well, I got a little distracted.”

"It sounds like you're taking it well, lieutenant," Aaron said, smiling sympathetically. He knew it must have been difficult--but well, it really did seem as though Havoc was being strong and pulling through within all of this. That was what counted above anything else. "I hope the best for you," he said, offering a smile.
He let out a sigh as he felt Havoc's hand against his shoulder. He was right. He shouldn't let stress get the better of him. He just had to focus on improving and making himself the best he could be.
"Yeah, you're right," he laughed lightly. "I'll just focus on improving. I mean, that's part of the reason I'm in Central right now anyways," he said, scratching his head.
