alright i couldn't help but share my thoughts about this

shortly: no, it wasn't intentional LOL. When I was rereading Inkspell, I had already came up with a design for Basta which included the flower, so I was a bit dumbfounded when the red anemone had THAT kind of symbolism in the book. but I figured out it was interesting so I kept it that way

the reason i picked the anemone out of all the red flowers was because of its meaning of like, warding off evil and bad luck, which is Basta's whole thing

back on my bullshit again. there you go, more Basta sketches thank you

I just gotta say, I’ve been DEEPLY interested in Basta for… maybe going on like 8 years now?? I’ve always loved him and been chagrined by how little fanart there is of him, especially the specific way I imagine him, and have always been to shy to draw my own — long winded way of saying THANK YOU for the art you’ve been posting of him lately, I’m utterly overjoyed I’ve just been coming back and staring at them repeatedly!! You draw him amazingly I’m so happy yay yayyy
