In December 1969, 10 years before the Islamic Revolution, the fashion photographer Henry Clarke took a series of photos in Iran, from Shiraz to Isfahan and Tehran. Featuring models Marisa Berenson, Lauren Hutton and Cynthia Korman with the amazing colors and beautiful architecture of iranian mosques. He photographed his models in mosques and palaces in Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz and Persepolis. History and unique landscape made the series a unique moment of fashion. The charming girls, the colors and the artistic talent of Clarke made the photos extremely poetic and historical. The pictures were published in Vogue on December 1969.This issue of Vogue also includes a picture of Queen Farah Diba in a dress inspired by Baluch tradition of “Souzandoozi”, an advertisement for Iran Air promoting its flight service from London to Tehran, and some pictures of Vida ZahediA’s chic Tehran store “Number One Avenue Sanieddoleh” on Vogue’s regular Boutique page.
