Hi. I’m bored and since we’re all quarantined, here’s a list of shows/documentaries and my favourite character/ship from them.

Most of the original synopsis’ for these shows (the ones off google) were far too long so enjoy me trying to sum the show up in 2-3 sentences.

Legacies

Follows Hope Mikaelson and the other students of the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted. A spin-off of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals.

I Am Not Okay With This

Follows Sydney Novak as she tries to figure out her feelings for her best friend and navigate her weird new powers. She’s also struggling with a big change in her household.

Queer Eye

Now I know damn well y’all know what this is. If you don’t, you better learn.

9-1-1

Follows first responders - Bobby Nash, Athena Grant, Evan Buckley, Edmundo Diaz, Maddie Buckley, Howie Han and Henrietta Wilson - and their personal lives as well as the crazy calls they go on in Los Angeles, California. Characters that struggle with addiction, loss of family, domestic abuse, police brutality, etcetera.

Favourite Character: Evan “Buck” Buckley

Elite

Follows Samu and his friends (and frenemies? I guess) as they solve the murder of a fellow classmate. Also shows the snobby (or not) rich kids vs the innocent (or not) lower-class kids.

Favourite Character: Ander

Favourite Ship: Ander & Omar

Living Undocumented

Follows multiple stories of undocumented immigrants who have come to the US. You see families from Mexico, Colombia, Honduras, Israel, Laos and Mauritania as they share why they left their countries and came here, the lives they’ve built in America, and the reasons they may not be citizens. I cried a lot watching this.

9-1-1: Lone Star

A spin-off of 9-1-1 that follows Owen Strand, Tyler Kennedy Strand, Michelle Blake, Carlos Reyes, Paul Strickland, Mateo Chavez, Marjan Marwani, Grace Ryder and Judd Ryder and their lives as well as the calls they go on in Austin, Texas. Characters that struggle with cancer, addiction, being undocumented, being transgender, etcetera.

On My Block

Follows Ruby Martinez, Monse Finnie, Jamal Turner and Cesar Diaz and living in a neighbourhood with two rival gangs, the Santos and the Prophets.

Shadowhunters

Follows Clary Fray after her mother is kidnapped and she learns of her true nature as a Shadowhunter. Her friends Jace, Izzy, Simon and eventually Alec help her through.

Jane the Virgin

Jane is a writer who is in a happy relationship with a man named Michael when she learns that her boss is Rafael, a man who she shared a moment with a while back. As the title suggests, she’s a virgin, swearing to her abuela that she wouldn’t have sex before marriage and have a kid at sixteen like her mother did. Then she gets accidentally artificially inseminated with Rafael’s sperm. Yikes.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

A spin-offish of Riverdale, this follows Sabrina Spellman as she has to choose between witch life and mortal life (she’s half-mortal half-witch). She doesn’t know if she can leave behind her boyfriend Harvey and her friends Roz and Theo.

The 100

Follows Clarke Griffin and Bellamy Blake as well as many others (too many to name, they’re seemingly the main two…or not idk) while they finally come down to earth. 100 youth prisoners sent down to test whether humans can live on earth again after an essential apocalypse long ago. The people on The Ark essentially said ‘f*ck them kids’.

Shameless

Crackheadery at it’s finest. Based off of a British show of the same name (I think), you see the Gallagher’s - Frank, Fiona, Lip, Ian, Debbie, Carl, and Liam (and hella others) - and all of the people and shite they deal with on the daily.

Favourite Character: Mickey Milkovich

One Day At A Time

Follows The Alvarez’s, a Cuban-American family, and their everyday lives. Lydia Riera, the grandmother (played by the queen herself, Rita Moreno) came to America when she was 14 with her siblings, except her sister who was 19 and too old for the ‘Pedro Pan program’. Penelope is a veteran and single mother living with her mother, Lydia, and her two kids, Elena and Alex. Elena is a lesbian activist. Alex is…..Alex.

Teen Wolf

Follows Scott McCall and his best friend Stiles Stilinski as well as many other characters while they navigate the supernatural world they didn’t know about until a night in the woods led to Scott becoming a werewolf himself.

Reign

Follows Mary Stuart, the queen of Scotland, as she is sent to marry Francis, soon King of France. She has to marry him to make an alliance between the two nations but the pair also have feelings for one another. They’re adorable childhood friends. We love them on this blog.

The Originals

Follows the original vampire (and hybrid) family, the Mikaelsons, and their reign over the quarter in New Orleans. Also follows all their close friends (and enemies I guess lol).

Sex Education

Follows Otis as he and his friend are paid by students to give out sex advice to students because shocker the sex education system in their school sucks. His mum is a sex therapist which is why he knows so much. He has his own awkward sexual encounters.

Favourite Character: Jackson (I literally have no reason why he just is)

Favourite Ship: Eric & Rahim (or Eric & Adam, idk)

Riverdale

I’m pretty sure everyone has heard about this wack ass show but - Follows Archie Andres (ew), Veronica Lodge, Betty Cooper, Jughead Jones, Cheryl Blossom, and many other background characters who deserve much more time. The first season is them worrying about normal teen stuff as well as solving the murder of Jason Blossom. Now? Hella gangs, a cult, Chad Michael Murray, the mob, parents that act like they’re five, jingle jangle, Griffins and gargoyles or something, serial killer, etcetera. CRACKHEADISM at it’s finest.

New Girl

Follows Jess who moves into a loft with Nick, Schmidt and Winston (and Coach) after her boyfriend cheats on her. It’s really funny and cute and you’ll most likely love all of the main characters.
