16 Sure Routes to Success
Good day everyone, today I’m going to discuss 16 sure routes to success which I personally arrived at by reviewing what other people have said about success and including what I believe were possible inadvertent omissions.                             In order for anybody to succeed in any lawful endeavour in this life, I believe that they must:  1.      Seek God and His righteousness first. Why? Because it is said in Matthew 6:33 – “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness and all these things shall be added on to you”. If you believe that the Bible was an inspiration from God, then, you must not joke with this route to success. How do we seek God and His righteousness? We seek God and His righteousness by reading the Bible, reading tracts issued by Christian organizations, listening to sermons in church or Christian audios , pursuing courses in Theology and obeying His instructions or commandments in the Bible etc. There is an old hymn titled – Trust and Obey which goes like this:
Trust and obey,
For there is no other way,
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.
2.      Develop Yourself – Self Development (Jim Rohn) – Make Yourself a Person of Value (The Late Dr. Myles Monroe). If you want to be successful, then you must be willing to develop yourself mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.  Learn all you can about your area of discipline or niche, take the courses that are offered in your subject area. Listen to podcasts or videos, read text books pertaining to your area of specialty. The above, admonishes us to get an education. Remember, education could be defined as ‘the acquisition of knowledge, skills and values. This means that those who went to colleges and universities and acquired knowledge are as educated as those who only acquired skills and values elsewhere. For example, a carpenter or a welder is educated.   Jim Rohn said, ‘in order for us to be successful, we need to apply our knowledge. In other words, if we don’t apply our knowledge, skills and values, we will wind up broke even if we graduated Magna Cum Laden.’ The late Dr. Myles Monroe said “You are not paid for how hard you work, or what you do, but for what you know. He mentioned that ‘International Capital’ (our intellect) is really a commodity. By being a commodity, it means it could be bought and sold.
3.      Pursue Ideas on How to be Successful If you’re reading this right now, or listening or watching this video, you are already pursuing ideas of success. Many successful people have written their success stories in detail. Others have allowed other people to write about their success stories but laziness and procrastination have often deprived many people from reading them and becoming successful. Where can you find ideas on how to be successful? You can find such ideas in text books, motivational speeches on You Tube, blogs, websites of successful people and   organizations. You can also find ideas by asking and knocking the doors of successful people. The Bible says in Matthew 7: 7 – 8 “Ask and ye shall receive, seek and ye shall find, knock and the door shall be opened on to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him that knocks, the door shall be opened. Notice that the Bible did not say only Christians who ask, seek or knock but everyone. So, it does not matter if you are a Christian or not. In addition, you can get ideas form God during your quiet moments .Furthermore, there are autobiographies and biographies of successful people which are available on Fame TV and other channels and websites. You also have powerful motivational speakers on You Tube like the late Dr. Myles Monroe, Jim Rohn, Earl Nightingale, Brian Tracy, Tony Robins etc. from whom you can get brilliant ideas. When you pursue ideas assiduously, I believe that you will find them.
4.      Fast and Pray
“Fasting is a great opportunity to offer a sacrifice on behalf of an intention. Consider offering your fast for something very particular. This will give you particular motivation and strengthen your resolve.” Stephen Barany (June 5, 2019).Whenever you get an idea from your pursuit or search for it, pray and fast about it.     When the disciples had difficulty casting out a certain demon from a little boy, they later went in private and asked, “Why could we not cast it out?” So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; For assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” Matthew 17:14-21.This simply means that in order to solve certain problems in our lives, we would need to pray and fast about them. King David said, “I humble my soul with fasting” Psalm 69:10.
5. Take Action
After praying and fasting about an idea that can work for you, take immediate action on that idea or go to work on that idea. In order words, implement a plan that will help you succeed with that idea. For example, assuming you listened to a motivational speech or watched a video on “How to get capital without a dime” and you convinced.  What do you think any rational human being, should do afterwards? Naturally, you will expect them to take immediate action on those ideas. Remember, the Bible says “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” James 2: 26.
6.  Be Discipline - Self-discipline
According to the Oxford Languages Dictionary online, discipline is ‘the practice of training people to obey rules or a code of behaviour, using punishment to correct disobedience.’ Ibid. Self-discipline is ‘the ability to control one’s feelings and overcome one’s weaknesses. If you are self-disciplined, you will not procrastinate when your mind says get up and do something.  In order for one to succeed in anything, they need to be self-disciplined. One of the most powerful attributes of successful people is self-discipline. They hate procrastination. They take action on every lawful and/or positive thought.
7.      Apply Genesis 1:28 According to the Late Dr. Myles Monroe’s Revelation
Genesis 1:28 King James Version “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”  Now, most people believe that God was telling man (man and woman), to give birth to many children, replenish and subdue the earth.  According to the late Dr. Myles Monroe’s revelation, God was telling man (man and woman), to go into the world and
- produce something (fruits)
- multiply what they have produced
- distribute what they have produced and
- dominate the market
8.  Save your gains for future Investments
As you continue to apply Genesis 1:28 according to the late Dr. Myles Monroe’s revelation, you will notice that money will start coming your way. Ensure that you save a huge chunk of that money in order to invest in the nearest future. Do not begin to spend that money on luxury items like fanciful properties like cars, yachts etc. but save it for future investments. This is what some motivational speakers refer to as delayed gratification.
9.  Invest your savings
Before I begin to explain how to invest your savings, I need to tell you some facts about investments.
1.      All investments have some percentage of risk attached to them. Only those who are willing to take those risks succeed. That is why entrepreneurs succeed because they are always will to take such risks.
2.      You cannot be wealthy by living pay cheque-to-pay cheque (Robert Kiyosaki). My friends, over time, the money you save by applying the late Dr. Monroe’s revelation will grow to something substantial. Instead of keeping it in banks, invest it in real estates, US Treasury Bonds, US Bank stocks through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and Gold Exchange-traded Funds (ETFs). According to Seeking Alphaα, these “are versatile investment securities offering a wide range of benefits for investors”. The returns on your investments will make you become a millionaire in a short period of time.
10. Endurance/Perseverance/Patience
According to Google, “the key difference between endurance and perseverance is that while endurance suggests mere tolerance of hardships in life, perseverance suggests going against these very hardships to succeed.” According to https://wikidiff.com>persevers>endure “As verbs the difference between persevere and endure is that persevere is to persist steadfastly in pursuit of an undertaking, task, journey or goal, even if hindered by distraction, difficulty, obstacle or discouragement while endure is to continue or carry on, despite obstacles or hardships.
According to the Oxford Languages Dictionary online, patience is “the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious.”
Most investments would not yield dividend immediately. Therefore, one would need to endure/persevere or be patient until the investment(s) begin to yield fruits.
11. Pay your complete tithe and maintain your relationship with God
According to Topwebanswers, “a tithe is a portion (10%) of your income given as an offering to your local church.”
In the Book of Luke chapter 16 verses 10 and 11, it is said 10“Whoever is faithful with very little will also be faithful with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. 11So if you have not been faithful with worldly wealth, who will entrust you with true riches?”
According to the late Dr. Myles Monroe by paying our correct tithe, we give an indication to God that we are trust worthy. From the above, one could clearly see that tithing is necessary for success.
12.      Give back to Society
In Acts 20:35, it is said “It is more blessed to give than to receive.
In 2 Corinthians 9:6 – 8, it is said “Each of you should give what you have decided in   your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.      Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed. Proverbs 19:17      Give, and it will be given you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Luke 6:38According to https://www,kent-teach.com, the 5 benefits of giving are:·
Giving makes us feel happy...…·
Giving is good for health...….·
Giving helps social connections...…..·
Giving evokes gratitude...…..·
Giving is contagious...….. (28/11/2017).
From the above, one could see that giving brings back rewards to the giver. Giving back to society make your wealth continue to revolve.
13.  Maintain Interest or Enthusiasm in your area of interest (investment) This is what most motivational speakers will call paying attention to your niche. At this stage of following these routes, some of you would have known that it could work for anyone who perseveres with it. Most successful people in the world today have discovered their niche or passion and they have specialized in utilizing them for their benefit. They don’t confuse themselves with many activities. They simply concentrate on what they have mastered. Successful people learn all they could about their passions, work, or jobs.
14.  Build your library of books or journals In order to learn about their passions, work or jobs, successful people build their library of books and/or journals and refer to them as and when necessary. They take notes on anything important or pertinent to their niche.
15.  Avoid Procrastination Successful people are masters of decision making. They have overcome the weakness of procrastination. Procrastination has caused many businesses to fail.Through reading, watching videos or during your quiet moments, some of you might have come across very good ideas that have the potential to change your lives but procrastination has left you the same. Whenever you find something that works, take massive action to ensure that it works for you. Don’t be lazy.  According to https://bloggersforthekingdom.com, ‘procrastination is when you keep putting off which you should be doing now – to another time. There are a lot of reasons people procrastinate: fear, anxiety or an unwillingness to face change...Maybe even a fear of success.” In Proverbs 6:9-11, it is said, 9“How long will you lie there, you sluggard? 10A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest – 11and poverty will come to you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.
16.  Avoid Negativity/Avoid making negative statements Especially when they are directed at you, do your best to avoid or encourage anybody making negative statements about you. The Bible says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:21. I could remember vividly that when I was growing up, I made two negative statements that have come to pass in my life.  First, one day, my former girlfriend and I were walking towards their home at a place called ‘Ashobi corner’ in my country. Near their house were the Massaquoi family, who had two smart guys who were already in college. I had always thought that they would one day snatch my girlfriend from me. So, on that day, as we approached the Massaquoi family home, I told my girlfriend that I dreamt her got married to somebody whose surname was Massaquoi. Ten years later, she got married to somebody who is a Massaquoi but not from that family. Second, in 2001, I went for a job interview but I was feeling sick and my mind kept telling me that I will not live beyond 2007. So, during the interview, somebody asked me if I was willing to work for the organization. In my reply, I said that I don’t think I would work for more than seven years. I started working for the organization on 14th February 2002 and on the 15th of April 2009, something dramatic happened which led to my resignation from that organization. Because it has happened to me twice, I can now confirm that it is not good to make negative statements.
