While the Frozen musical on Disney+ is technically very well done, and, generally speaking, a pretty good show, the decision to use the West End/National Tour version was... poor.

That is not me saying that the acting or singing was bad at all! Because everything on stage was beautiful and beautifully done. But! Having seen both the Broadway (pre-covid) and National Tour productions, I vastly preferred the b-way version and think that it works better as a show than the changes they did for the tour/west end.

From shortening/re-arrainging songs (I.e. what do you know about love, wdykal reprise, hygge, etc) to cutting True Love, and changing First Time in Forever Reprise, I think the pacing of the show and story take a big hit. Everything happens so fast, characters barely get time to interact, and the emotional beats of the show get lost. I felt like I was watching the show one 1.5 speed, and that important parts of the show were sacrificed for time, which kinda sucks. :/

the frozen proshot is genuinely really good

being extremely normal about "true love" being cut from the frozen proshot (true love and monster are two sides of the same coin and colder by the minute completely hinges on both of those songs so cutting true love weakens not only colder by the minute's true love motif but also its monster motif and thus weakens the climax as a whole)

legit tho do you guys remember how goddamn hardcore the phineas and ferb movie went. they were like "oh yeah we're making a movie for this happy episodic lil comedy show. in this movie they travel to another dimension where they're under a despotism and the main villain physically mutilated and enslaved his nemesis years ago and the happy optimist character's counterpart is terrified to go outside and the teenage girl whose main personality trait in the mainline is 'getting her brothers in trouble' is now the leader of a resistance at 15 and doing everything in her power to keep her brothers safe including sacrificing our heroes if need be. half the characters' friendships are broken and the other half don't know each other. at one point everyone is almost fed to a monster over a pit of lava. also we are now playing baseball with platypus tails" and 11yo me was just like "neat"

since we’ve gotten more stacy and ginger in this season, i’d love to see some more stuff regarding their culture as japanese american. we’ve gotten mexican jewish moments for isabella, bollywood and other indian inspired songs for baljeet, and even references to buford being dutch. the last thing we got was “j-pop” in “summer belongs to you” and that didn’t even include stacy directly

Imagine if you will Perry dealing with Doof but it's taking a lot longer than usual. He doesn't want his family to get worried, so he quickly sends Stacy a text asking her to cover for him which she agrees too. Naturally, Perry assumes she'll just call Candace and tell her something like Perry's wandered on over to her house and not to worry.

Cue Perry's utter shock and horror when he finally gets home and sees Stacy in a full human-sized Perry the Platypus costume sitting beside the family as they all eat dinner together, except for Candace who's been staring intently at Stacy in horrid confusion the moment she wandered up to the backyard making Perry's usual noises after Phineas asked 'Hey, where's Perry?'.
