I’ve been revisiting these guys recently.  The best thing is that you find videos you didn’t know existed.  I’ll post their masterpiece song, but for now, this is pretty good, a track from my very favorite of their albums.  That let me sleep by the mirror song.  It’s strangely calming for how bonkers the lyrics are.

6 years ago, we started this journey.   Through a trial and error process, then getting assigned a co-writer, then having to wait till Covid settled down, we finally get to announce the first issue dropping on July 7!

It’s been a long and fun ride.  You all will get 12 jam packed issues of this book, and for me it’s like a dream come true.  I’ve wanted to write comics since I was a teen.  It was always something I wanted to do, I even drew and wrote my own, it was also a sci fi comedy.  It’s always been in my blood, now it’s bled out into reality.   This article has the first 10 pages of issue one.  So, you can try before you buy.

Addicted to anger

On a podcast I regularly listen to there was a fascinating revelation about anger.  It’s an addiction and I think I’m somewhat of a hothead and have found myself criticizing or condemning people and things purely out of spite or jealousy.  A recent bout on the other social media platform that torments me minute by minute is where I just shut down, not wanting to give someone their platform to say mean and angry, resentful, hate filled things.  So, I axed it.  I axed it, and I’m moving on from anger.  I know I went off on poor 3J earlier, but I think I can lick this problem.  I just know that if you spout negativity, you will attract negativity.  To be a harbor of that stuff just sickens me.  I want to not focus on that and move forward.  It’s what’s best.  It truly gets you nowhere.  I almost wrote Knowhere.  hahha

The Jesus & Mary Chain- Up Too High

This might be the first ever demo from a genius band.  I love it, it reeks of early cure and Bauhaus kind of.  More dreamy than dark though, especially cause where this band goes is extraordinary.  Darklands, man.  I love Psychocandy too.  It’s like harsh goodness.  Like awful tasting medicine that tastes terrible but you know you need.

Danielson : Bloodbook On The Halfshell

A song about reading.  I am a book fiend, so this song really gets to me, also this is a hell of an album with Deerhoof and Danielson Family combined.  I was posting in another place, whatever songs struck my fancy for the day but I almost feel like I do it too much on there.  It’s better here, I get it out of my system and i’m not clogging up the works somewhere.  Also I hate facebook with a passion, I am on there too much getting soaked up by everyone’s drama.  My last couple posts have been awful negative and for that I apologize but sometimes you just need to get the poison out and let the darkness subside.  It can’t be all sunny days and rainshowers.

3J

Okay bit of a negative rant here but fuck it.  I can’t post this complaint on twitter since the actual actor might read my comments.  Ya never know!  So, I’m pretty much on the last season of family matters and there’s this very annoying character, 3J. I mean his name is fuckin 3J???  Richie was pretty annoying since he’s a little kid with Michael Jackson hair who thinks he’s MJ and clearly is not even close, and all the little ladies love him, I mean that’s irritating sure, but I can look past it but this 3J, oh my shit I hate him so much.  If you don’t believe me or think I’m overreacting just watch the episode where he and Urkel become Bruce Lee.  Trust me he sucks.

Fuckin 3J!  What a dumb name, what a dumb little kid.  He thinks he’s a gangster but he’s fuckin 7.  Oh man, he sucks.  Way to ruin my enjoyment of family matters you little shit!

A letter to steely dan

It started so simply.  I think I heard one song and liked them as a kid.  But it wasn’t till I was an adult and had lost a lot in life till I truly became a Steely Dan.

“I cried when I wrote this song, sue me if I play too long.”

Those are the fuckin’ lyrics.  honestly it’s a helluva song.  You don’t have to appreciate any other songs.  You don’t have to be impressed that Chevy Chase was their drummer in college.  All you need to know is it’s jazz, it’s freewheeling blues, it’s onery.  It’s just that.  Very steely.  A friend of mine hates them, he said it was like ghosts playing instruments, but honestly, isn’t that pretty cool?  I’d say hell yes.  That’s a frozen hell, mind you.
