Something (very) personal

Seven months ago, I stopped being on the pill which I had been for about eight years.

I had many reasons to stop taking it, one of them being that I don't need its main effect right now and for sure I don't need its side effects.

I am not a doctor and I don't and won't tell you to do the same. I just want to tell you what happened to me.

My menstruation stopped or did not take place for three months. Then I had one and bled a lot. The next one took place two months afterwards. The one after that as well.

I did not get more break outs in the face. However, I got more blackheads in the cleveage and on my back. At the moment, I try to get over them by using a fruit acid peeling every other week. It helps a bit.

I don't think I gained weight or lost any.

I did not have any mood swings, however, I was always wondering if and when my menstruations will begin again.

At the moment, I don't know if I want to be on the pill again. Nevertheless I can say that I want to be off of it for at least two years. I want to get to know my body without all these superfluous hormones.

Does that sound weird?
