Honestly atp any ask I get saying its a palestinian wanting donations Im assuming its a scam bcuz why are you sending asks to random tumblrs?

To be fair, a few legit Ghazzans have contacted me in this way. There's no foolproof way to immediately identify a real Palestinian urgently looking for help VS. A scammer; that is unless you speak Arabic and specifically Palestinian Arabic. Then you can speak with them directly and identify their dialect or lack thereof, but more importantly if they can actually respond to your questions with the requested proof.

This is why I emphasize people go through me, as I've volunteered to do the vetting for folks in case I think someone's legit. Cuz y'all can't do that and you don't have the permission of other Palestinians to be doing this shit.

This campaign is relatively new but I have it on very good authority that it is legitimate.

Hussam needs to evacuate 13 of his family members from Gaza, including his sister who gave birth in February and now has an infant to care for as well as a young daughter. He’s already lost more than 18 of his family members, and now his remaining family are spread out in refugee camps across southern Gaza.

Any donation makes a difference. Sincerely, if everyone who sees this gives $5 that’s already a great step forward.

While we're at it: using language that downplays genocide is a form of genocide denial.

Joe Biden isn't doing a bad job, Joe Biden is providing material support for genocide.

Israel isn't handling the situation badly, Israel is committing genocide.

Employing euphemisms minimizes the reality of this genocide. It's disrespectful and dangerous.

If you are more uncomfortable with the word genocide than you are with the reality of genocide, then you are not prepared to be part of any serious discussion. Work on that on your own time.

I know white people especially struggle with this concept but like when a Palestinian, or any other group of Black or brown people are calling you in and making a general statement about the state of the allyship for our causes, and making criticism of common behaviours or whatever else, that is NOT an invitation for you to confess your own shortcomings or your journey of self-improvement. Especially not under our posts. Make your own post if you really feel like it. But we don't need to hear your personal story of how you ignored our long-standing genocide until you saw enough people doing the right thing and you decided to follow. Keep that to yourself.

These posts are meant for you to REFLECT ON YOURSELF! BY YOURSELF! QUIETLY! And decide on your OWN what part of your behaviours you can identify being criticized in these posts and fix them!! There is no possible reality where this is in any way capable of being passed off as self-defense. It was never self-defense. It is, and always has been, a genocide.

Maternity kits, medical threads and scissors, water testing kits, anesthetics, mobile desalination units, etc do you see the pattern? Israel is not only starving the people of Gaza but it also wants to ensure the spread of disease through contaminated water and surgical tools, as well as ensuring injured Palestinians suffer through horrendous pain.

It's beyond sickening.
