Healing from the Pain: Coping with the Physical and Mental Aftermath of Abortion
Abortion can be a difficult and complex decision for many women. While it may seem like the right decision at the moment, it can also lead to various physical and mental health issues. In this blog, we'll discuss the potential aftermath of abortion and ways to cope and heal from the pain.
Tumblr media
Understanding the Physical Aftermath
Cramping and bleeding: It is common to experience cramping and bleeding after an abortion, similar to a heavy menstrual period. This can last for a few days to a couple of weeks.
Infection: There is a small risk of infection after an abortion, especially if proper care and hygiene are not maintained. Symptoms include fever, foul-smelling discharge, and abdominal pain.
Long-term complications: In rare cases, an abortion can lead to long-term complications such as damage to the cervix or uterus or an incomplete abortion.
Navigating the Emotional Turmoil
Grief and loss: It is normal to experience grief and loss after an abortion. These feelings can be overwhelming and include sadness, guilt, and regret.
Post-abortion syndrome: Some women may experience a condition known as a post-abortion syndrome, which includes symptoms such as depression, anxiety, and flashbacks.
Stigma and isolation: The societal stigma surrounding abortion can contribute to feelings of isolation and shame.
 Coping and Healing Strategies
Counseling: Seeking professional counseling can be an effective way to process the emotions and feelings that come with an abortion.
Support groups: Joining a support group for women who have had abortions can provide a safe and non-judgmental space for healing and sharing experiences.
Self-care: Taking care of yourself physically and emotionally is crucial for healing. This can include exercising, getting enough sleep, and engaging in activities that bring you joy.
Forgiveness: Forgiving oneself for the decision can be a big part of the healing process.
Abortion can significantly impact a woman's physical and mental health. It is important to understand the potential aftermath and find ways to cope and heal from the pain. Seeking professional help, joining support groups, and practicing self-care are all effective strategies for healing. Remember that healing takes time, and taking the time you need is ok. If you ever need professional help, you should consult the panel of doctors at Dr. Rupali's Abortion Center. They are experts in their field and will be able to provide you with the support and guidance you need during this difficult time.

Understanding the potential side effects of surgical abortion.
Surgical abortion is a safe and effective method for ending a pregnancy. However, as with any medical procedure, it is essential to be aware of potential side effects. In this blog, we will explore some possible side effects of surgical abortion and discuss how to manage them.
Tumblr media
Common side effects of surgical abortion
The most common side effects of surgical abortion are mild and temporary and may include cramping, bleeding, and spotting. These symptoms are usually similar to those experienced during a menstrual period and can be managed with over-the-counter pain medications and by taking it easy.
 Rare and severe side effects
While rare, there is a small risk of severe complications from surgical abortion. These may include infection, heavy bleeding, and damage to the uterus or cervix. If you experience any of the following symptoms after a surgical abortion, it is essential to contact your healthcare provider immediately:
Fever of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher
Severe abdominal pain or cramping
Heavy bleeding (soaking through more than two pads per hour for two consecutive hours)
Foul-smelling discharge
In conclusion, surgical abortion is a safe and effective method for ending a pregnancy. While there are potential side effects, they are usually mild and temporary.
If you are queries related to surgical abortion or for consultation, feel free to contact us or visit our site Dr. Rupali's Abortion Centre.

The Continuing Stigma of Abortion in India
In this article, we are going to talk about why it is important to end stigma around abortion in India. It’s a very popular topic, especially these days with so many women having unsafe abortions because of shame or lack of knowledge.
Click here if you’re looking for an Abortion in India
Many people believe that terminating a pregnancy is wrong. This belief comes from cultural stereotypes about what qualities a person should have and how a woman who doesn’t want to be a parent shouldn’t feel bad for it. Some cultures even consider it a shameful action.
This attitude towards abortion can contribute to maternal mortality. Since most deaths due to abortion occur within two weeks of conception, doctors may not identify the cause as an illegal procedure until after the fact. Sometimes mothers don’t get adequate care at the hospital afterward either.
Abortion isn’t just morally questionable, but also potentially deadly for those involved. Medical professionals must address underlying mental health conditions like depression before performing terminations, but stigma often keeps patients silent. Even when suicide does not play a part, silence can make it hard for someone seeking help to find it.
It is essential to break down this taboo if we want to see change. Healthcare providers must learn how to respond to difficult questions about termination with compassion and understanding instead of judgment.
We need to acknowledge that some pregnancies will not work out and offer supportive services to anyone who might need them.
Social reasons
Tumblr media

Many people believe that abortion is wrong because it goes against social norms. These beliefs are very strong, even when the person performing or witnessing the abortion is not involved directly with the woman’s family.
Don’t feel shy if you’re unmarried and want to get an abortion. Click on the link to know more about Unmarried Abortion in Delhi
There are many examples of this throughout history. For instance, during the Victorian era, most cultures believed that women should accept their place as wives and mothers and enjoy their marriage and motherhood for the rest of their lives. Society now knows this to be false — what an individual woman chooses to do with her body is her own business.
Abortion isn’t just socially unacceptable, but also morally questionable. Some argue that killing an unborn child is equivalent to murder, which is illegal.
However, these arguments don’t hold up for two main reasons. First, there’s no medical consensus that says having an abortion will cause death (or even infertility). Second, even if there was, we would still have to weigh whether letting someone die is right. This is especially true given that early abortions can be done painlessly today.
Religious reasons
Tumblr media
Photo by Sharath G. on Pexels
Many people believe that abortion is wrong because of religion. Some religious groups consider it murder, or at least morally wrong. Others believe that life begins at conception, so terminating a pregnancy is equivalent to killing an infant.
These beliefs often seem contradictory to what most people think about when they hear the word “abortion.” Most people associate the term with taking away a baby’s life, which is definitely not okay.
However, there are several medical procedures that can be used before babies even exist, making this argument irrelevant. What about condoms? People argue that abortions could be prevented if men were more careful about contraception, but quite frankly, many women feel like men get enough advice about sex education as it is!
Abortions have been performed for centuries all over the world, including in countries with very strong religions. So although some may find them moral, other people don’t. It is important to understand that your opinion doesn’t matter much unless you try to impose it on others.
Hemorrhages usually start as light vaginal bleeding and then become heavier and longer lasting.
Lack of awareness
Tumblr media

In fact, many people believe that abortion is illegal in our country! Many more do not know what procedures are available or where they can get an abortion done.
Dr Rupali’s Abortion Centre is also known for its Safe and Legal Abortion in Delhi
This lack of knowledge about abortions has created a stigma around them. Some feel that seeking an abortion means you will be unable to fulfill your dreams, and thus start looking for ways to cause a miscarriage.
Many parents don’t understand why pregnant women need to go out during their first trimester. They may even make comments like “Why doesn’t she just have her baby now?” Or “At least she could give birth at home instead of going through all this trouble.” This only adds to the stigma surrounding pregnancies.
Abortion isn’t always easy to come by either. Most private clinics won’t offer early medical terminations unless you are under eighteen, so most young girls cannot access safe, legal abortions.
There are also restrictions when it comes time to re-enter the workforce. Since most employers require a document confirming that a woman is no longer breastfeeding, women who want an abortion must find a way to deal with that.
It is important to remember that there is never reason to put pressure on someone to end their own pregnancy, nor should anyone criticize someone for wanting an abortion. It is totally personal choice.
Personal reasons
Tumblr media
Many people feel that abortion is morally wrong because of their religious beliefs. Some believe that life begins at conception, so killing an embryo is equivalent to killing a human being. Others think it is physically or psychologically harmful for women’s health.
Some men believe they are not responsible for contraception due to gender stereotypes about what Women should be doing with their bodies. They, therefore, assume responsibility for any pregnancies caused by irresponsible sex.
People also worry that if left alone, social pressures will promote illegal abortions which can result in death for both patient and provider.
These fears sometimes lead people to commit acts of violence against others who undergo late-term abortions. Because of this stigma, many patients do not seek help after learning about their options, rendering them vulnerable to complications.
The government has failed to enforce laws
Tumblr media
Photo by shalender kumar on Pexels
More than half of all abortions are done under illegal procedures, due to the stigma attached to them in our country. Even when performed legally, there is still much shame associated with it.
Looking for Painless abortion in Delhi?
Legal abortion can be expensive — up to 2,000 rupees (about 30 USD) for a primary procedure and 1,500 rupees (22 USD) for a secondary one. Some hospitals even bill you upfront for “confirmation” that an abortion was conducted!
Abortion providers must undergo criminal background checks as well as medical exams to verify their qualifications before they are allowed to work. But many don’t, and those who do face harassment and intimidation from authorities and patients alike.
Illegal abortions are far less costly because doctors often offer free services or at least very low-cost ones, but they are also not guaranteed safety. Infections are common since women may lack clean instruments and proper anesthesia, and some drugs are used in ways that hurt instead of helping relax the patient.
Anti-abortion activists
Tumblr media
Photo by Lerone Pieters on Pexels
In fact, there are many groups that actively work against women’s access to safe abortion care. These include not only anti-choice religious organizations like the Catholic Church but also secular political ideologies like fascism.
Both of these have similar strategies which involve creating a stigma around abortions by portraying them as deadly or morally wrong.
By making it socially acceptable to discuss how “horrible” an abortion is, they create a space where people feel comfortable when having one. At the same time, telling people that abortions will result in their death can make people fear seeking one even more.
Furthermore, since most countries don’t legally recognize third-trimester abortions, doctors may be limited in what services they offer. This could mean pregnant individuals traveling across the country for (and paying large amounts of money for) medical attention.
It can also prevent those with financial means from accessing appropriate healthcare, as certain hospitals won’t perform late-term procedures.

When Should You Get An Abortion?
Many people believe that abortion is only allowed in cases of rape, to protect your health or prevent birth due to serious fetal defects, but this is not true! There are many other reasons women get abortions, including for financial reasons. It is important to know the timing limits on when you can get an abortion depending on why you want to do it.
Click Here if you’re looking for Painless Abortion in Delhi
There is no state where pregnant women must receive permission from their doctor before they have an abortion. However, most states require that you wait at least 24 hours after going through either a medical or surgical procedure before having an abortion. This is because pregnancy involves changing levels of hormones and the body processes of pregnancy occur over time.
So, if you’re planning on getting an abortion soon there are some ways to make sure your surgery is legal. First, you should talk with your doctor about whether earlier intervention is needed so that you don’t have to go through with the procedure later. Some things that could indicate a need for early intervention include symptoms such as heavy bleeding, pain, or cramping.
You are approximately 9 weeks pregnant

At this stage, you can get an abortion either doing it yourself or with help of a doctor. Some clinics offer early pregnancy testing to confirm your pregnancy, so that you don’t have to come in for a procedure right away if you aren’t sure.
If you’re looking for 20–24 weeks abortion in Delhi visit Dr Rupali’s abortion centre as they are approved registered centre for the termination of pregnancy up to 20 weeks from the Govt. of NCT of Delhi. The Centre is also registered as per the new Amendment in the MTP Act, 2021 to terminate up to 24 weeks in case of any congenital abnormalities found in the foetus.
Most women are able to have an abortion at around 6–8 weeks past their last period (this is what we call “early medical abortion”). This is because most women’s bodies start producing enough hormones to prevent fertilized eggs from attaching to the uterus during that time.
But some women may be unable to safely do a medication abortion until they are more advanced in her pregnancy. This is completely normal!
It is important to remember that while later abortions are definitely needed for moral reasons, many people view earlier abortions as morally acceptable. Many religions even promote early abortions when the baby would likely not survive birth.
So although getting an abortion later might feel easier, it probably doesn’t make society look any better.
You are approximately 5 weeks pregnant
Tumblr media

Most women can have an abortion at about five (5) weeks into their pregnancy, also known as first-trimester abortion. This is typically done through either of two main types of procedures: surgical evacuation or medication induction.
Surgical evacuation is usually performed in a doctor’s office under local anesthesia. A suction device is used to remove the fetus and fragments of uterine tissue.
Medication abortions are often completed using a drug called mifepristone and misoprostol. Mifepristone causes the uterus to contract and empty so that fetal death occurs around 10 days later, when most pregnancies reach day 12.
The timing and length of your treatment will depend on your specific situation. Your provider may recommend performing both medications within a few hours of each other, with one medicine being administered up to 72 hours before the procedure.
Some doctors perform a second dose of medication several days after the initial visit to make sure the process works.
You are approximately 3 months pregnant

Most women can have an abortion at around three months of pregnancy, this is called a first trimester abortion. Some people call it early miscarriage or very early pregnancy loss.
It is important to know that most medical abortions can be done in either the second or third trimesters. This means that you don’t need to wait until your baby is fully developed before getting rid of it!
Many health clinics perform a test called hCG which helps determine if there has been enough time for the medication to work.
You will be asked to come back after taking the pill so that they can check your blood hCG levels. It is normal to feel tired or nauseous while taking the pills but these symptoms should only last for a few days.
If you are feeling ill or unwell go and see your doctor as soon as possible. Make sure to tell them about any worries or concerns you may have. Your healthcare provider will discuss all appropriate steps for you.

You may not know all of your choices yet! It’s important to understand that most women have a choice whether they want to keep their baby or not. For some it can mean deciding between saving their life or having a child, while for others it means making a decision to terminate a pregnancy that they were thinking about before this happened.
Many people feel that once you tell someone you plan on getting an abortion, then they try to convince you to change your mind. This is untrue- most people never really offer support unless you ask for it.
There are many ways to get an abortion. Some are more difficult than others depending on how early into pregnancy you go. But no matter which one you choose, remember that you will always be able to refer to this as a medical procedure.
You were not aware you were pregnant
Tumblr media
Photo by RODNAE Productions on Pexels
Sometimes, before you know it, you are surprised to find yourself with a baby. This is very common way to discover that you are expecting! Before you know it, you are thinking about what to do next while also trying to figure out when your pregnancy would be confirmed.
Many times people don’t realize they are pregnant until they are already experiencing some symptoms or their partner/spouse becomes aware of them.
You can get a few days (or even weeks) warning before you actually recognize that you are carrying someone else’s child. So, if you are feeling confident that you aren’t pregnant and then suddenly you feel like you might be, try to remember the things you should have been doing during the last couple of days to see if there is any connection.
It’s totally normal to worry about whether you’re really pregnant after something seems off, but don’t assume anything just because you feel this way. Check out our tips for spotting early signs of pregnancy.
Once you realize you are indeed preggo, talk to your doctor about timing of abortion.
The pregnancy was caused by a rape
Tumblr media
Photo by Kat Smith on Pexels
If you are pregnant as a result of sexual assault, you have a right to get an abortion at any stage of your pregnancy. It is important to know that most medical professionals will not ask about whether you were raped or if you wanted the pregnancy because it does not affect how early you can obtain an abortion.
Some doctors do require proof of the assault in order to give you an official diagnosis for your condition, but this is only done after you go into detail with them and they agree that you are serious enough about your decision to have an abortion.
It is very difficult to determine exactly when a person becomes pregnant from a sexual assault so there may be times where it is impossible to tell whether you are already pregnant or if you are still fertile. This is why it is best to come as soon as possible!
Many women feel more comfortable coming forward later in their pregnancies due to having gone through the process before and being able to talk to other people who had similar experiences. Even though it might make things more difficult now, talking about what you want can help others learn about their options and help you work through your feelings.
The pregnancy was caused by a medical condition
Tumblr media

If you are thinking about getting an abortion due to a wanted baby because of a disease or physical condition, you may be able to do so later in your pregnancy.
Some pregnancies occur when there is a need for IVF (or infertility treatment) to conceive before they can get an abortion. This is because it takes time to work with your own eggs to conceive naturally, and sometimes this process doesn’t succeed.
With these treatments, if it does not work after several cycles, many doctors will recommend doing something else — such as adoption instead.
It is important to remember that most people feel very strong and supportive towards parents who choose to have children even if they cannot. Adoption gives your child a home, while also helping you to find happiness and self-confidence as a parent.

Abortion: Women's Integral Right
Many people believe that abortion is morally wrong, but they may not know where to start in discussing why it is okay when done for medical reasons or because the woman wants one. Medical abortions are sometimes called “medical procedures” even though no surgery takes place! They are safe, effective ways to end an early pregnancy.
Many people also believe that women should be able to make their own health care decisions, including whether or not to have an abortion. The opposite of this belief is what we refer to as coerced abortion.
When someone coerces you into doing something, it can feel very uncomfortable. For example, if a friend tells you that nothing much matters unless you and your partner agree to have a baby together, then she might convince you that you need to get an abortion.
Abortion is often framed as a moral choice, but it is actually about choices that affect other people. It is important to recognize that, while there will always be people who think that abortion is immoral, there will never be a time when everyone thinks the same way.
What are some good places to begin talking about abortion? Let us look at some ideas here.
Topic and bullet point pairings: What are our values?; Why do most people think that abortion is wrong?
So let us take a look at some different points of views on abortion. These could include reasons why abortion is safe, medical benefits, ethical arguments, etc.

Legal status of abortion
Tumblr media
Photo by Karolina Grabowska on Pexels
Recent developments in America’s pro-choice movement have come in the form of new legislation and court cases that challenge the legality or moral legitimacy of abortions. These legal challenges are typically framed as an argument about “life,” but they really boil down to whether you consider the developing fetus to be alive or not.
Many people confuse the word “pro-life” with “anti-abortion,” but this is like saying that someone who likes vegetables must also hate fruits. A person who believes strongly in both concepts should probably try eating just one vegetable per month! (I recommend broccoli.)
There are several ways to describe these trends, so let’s review them. First, we will discuss the basic medical fact that most early abortions are performed before pregnancy even reaches the second trimester.
Second, we will look at some less common arguments against having abortions later in gestation. Some of these criticisms seem plausible, while others do not. We will talk more about why certain beliefs about when life begins belong in the realm of fiction.
Third, we will address objections which claim that allowing late term abortions is morally acceptable because it is sometimes necessary to save a woman’s life. While this is undeniably true, it is extremely rare.

Psychological risks of abortion
Tumblr media
Photo by Engin Akyurt on Pexels
There are many myths about what happens to your body after an abortion. We’ve discussed some before, but it is important to know that there is no evidence that show mental health effects due to differences in hormonal levels or changes in depression or anxiety symptoms.
There have been studies looking at the connection between abortions and changes in depressive or anxious symptoms, but these typically ask patients whether they had an abortion recently and if so, how long ago. They were not actually done comparing those who had an abortion to those who did not!
Researchers also tend to use self-reported data for their findings which may be influenced by social desirability bias, where people feel pressured to say nothing bad happened to them. This does not mean there is no link, but we cannot make any firm conclusions from such studies.
It is very common to experience mood swings and stress related hormones during times like pregnancy, when women realize they are pregnant. It can be difficult deciding whether this is because you are overthinking about the future or whether something has changed with your life, but most definitely tiring.
Abortion can be psychologically taxing, but it is mostly due to your own internal thoughts and feelings. Stress can cause hormonal shifts, but having an abortion can reduce stress and help you relax.
Religious views on abortion
Tumblr media
Photo by Michael Morse on Pexels
Many religions have varying opinions about when it is acceptable to perform an abortion. Some are totally against it, while others view it as morally wrong, but not necessarily illegal.
Some religious groups believe that life begins at conception, which makes performing an early abortion impossible without breaking the law. Other religions believe that abortions can be performed up until a fetus becomes viable (able to survive outside of the womb) or possible miscarriage.
The Catholic Church teaches that abortion is always immoral because it takes away a human life. No one is allowed to take another person’s life except in cases of self-defense or if they are incompetent due to illness or injury.
Abortion is never necessary to save a woman’s life, so this belief goes beyond moral issues into legal ones. According to the laws in place, there is no exception for when an abortion is needed to preserve a women’s health.
Reasons people get abortion
Tumblr media
Photo by olia danilevich on Pexels
There are several reasons why someone may choose to have an abortion. For some, it is due to a pregnancy they decided was not wanted. This could be because of a change in their life that made having a child impossible or because they did not want this baby. Some people prefer Painless Abortion in Delhi
For others, it is due to a poor health condition of the mother. If you find out about your partner’s sickness after conception, there is nothing wrong with seeking an abortion.
Some women decide to abort her unborn child when she finds out she has suffered a miscarriage. All of these situations should be respected as everyone’s choice to live their lives this way.
There is also a stigma attached to how most consider abortions to be moral decisions. Some claim that by choosing to terminate a fetus, one is deciding to kill a human being. What very few realize is that many believe that the body does not need another person involved in its death process.
Abortion can also be done for financial reasons. Women who cannot afford to raise a child sometimes opt to end their pregnancies. Given the expensive nature of raising a child, this makes sense.
Lastly, some women feel that they do not love themselves enough to bring a child into this world. A lot of times, women think they like children, but actually don’t. They only like the idea of children, not anything related to owning a kid.
Reasons people choose to keep their baby
youtube
One of the biggest reasons why women decide to abort their babies is because they believe that having children is not in their plan at this time. People are different, and different things mean different things to different individuals.
Some may feel that they do not have enough money saved up for a child or might not want a parent role. Or maybe they believe that they will never meet the right person and it is better to start looking now than to stay single longer.
Whatever the reason, this does not justify abortion. It is important to understand that abortions can hurt your emotional well-being as well as physical health.
Abortions are very expensive. What I mean by that is not only does the doctor perform the procedure, but there are also medical costs for you to handle yourself.
Routine checkups after an abortion can cost anywhere from $50 to $100 per visit.
Abortions and mental health
Tumblr media
Many people believe that getting an abortion will have a negative effect on your mental health, but this isn’t true. In fact, research shows that when performed under appropriate conditions, having an abortion can be a very helpful experience.
Some individuals feel uncomfortable talking about their own experiences with abortion, so it is important to understand what statistics say about the relation between abortions and mental health.
It is also worth mentioning that most women recover from an abortion within two weeks. So, while some people may try to talk you out of doing something, there are no long-term effects.
This article will go into more detail about how common misconceptions about abortion negatively affect mental health. But first, let us look at why some people struggle with emotional stability after they have an abortion.
Why might someone be reluctant to pursue romantic relationships or work following an abortion?
Mostly, these individuals worry that other people will find them to be “less than” because they made a choice to end another person's life.
They may fear being judged for choosing to terminate a pregnancy, or feeling bad about themselves if they were unable to overcome their desire to do so.
Furthermore, they may worry that others will view them as less of a person if they choose not to have children later in life. All of these things can contribute to social anxiety or depression.
These feelings are normal and usually pass once we get past a certain point.

Abortions and physical health
Many people believe that terminating your pregnancy will reduce your chance of getting sick or death due to childbirth. This is not true! Having an abortion can increase your risk of disease, especially for women in their early twenties.
There are many theories about why this might happen. Some say that aborting early reduces the amount of blood circulating in the body, which sometimes makes it harder to fight off infectious diseases such as bacteria or viruses.
Another theory suggests that when you abort your baby, your body doesn’t produce enough growth hormones, so you don't get as strong of a feeling after giving birth. Both of these situations may make it more difficult to feel like yourself and recover from the birth process.
We know that having an abortion can be emotionally challenging, but staying healthy during and soon after the procedure can help you feel better. It's important to eat well, exercise, and cope with stressors properly. You also need to sleep to restore your energy levels.

Considering an abortion? Here are some facts covered
Many people believe that abortion is only allowed in cases of rape, or to protect the health of the fetus. This is not true! The most common reasons women obtain abortions are due to financial difficulties, relationship issues, or stress.
If you want to know more about Abortion in India click here!!
Abortion can be an expensive option, especially when performed early on. Some clinics will even charge for their services depending on how far into pregnancy you go. For example, some will add a fee per day beyondyour initial appointment.
Many doctors will recommend waiting until later in gestation to perform the procedure because they want to make sure there is no risk to the patient’s physical health before doing so. A more affordable alternative is to get pregnant quickly and see what happens!
There are many ways to achieve this. By planning ahead, you have time to save money while still getting the same result. It is totally safe for women to practice self-managed contraception after having an abortion.
Medical professionals agree thatlate term abortions pose little to no threat to a woman’s well being. In fact, studies show that the vast majority of women experience very few symptoms following an evacuation up to 24 weeks.
D&D (dilation and dilatation)
Tumblr media
Photo by Nadezhda Moryak on Pexels
During dilation and dilatation, your doctor will use a hand-held device to gently stretch out the closed cervix so that you can access the uterus. This is typically done several times a week until the embryo or fetus dies or drops off naturally. Some women are able to get through pregnancy without this procedure because their bodies respond to the growing baby by developing strong contractions.
Know more about Legal and Safe Abortion
Many doctors also perform suctioning, in which they draw fluid and dead tissues from the womb using a thin tube. Sometimes this is done as part of the dilation and dilatation process, but it may be done separately depending on what kind of result you’re looking for.
Most people are aware of abortions performed via hysterotomy, a surgical incision into the top of the uterus to gain full view. However, there are other ways to do an abortion if you don’t want to go that route. For instance, you could have a vacuum aspiration (also called “vacuum curettage”), medical incineration, chemical medication, or induction.
Hysterotomy is one of the most common methods used during early stages of gestation. Many women choose this approach at around five months due to timing constraints. At six weeks, some women feel that they need more time to prepare themselves for motherhood, and thus elect to undergo hysterotomy.
What happens if I am pregnant?
Tumblr media
Photo by RODNAE Productions on Pexels
The next step is to confirm your pregnancy. This is typically done by taking a very simple test called an hcg test, which is usually free at most hospitals or clinics. If you do not know what that means, then don’t worry about it! Most people are able to tell when they are pregnant due to certain symptoms (nausea, light-headedness, fatigue).
Want to do Termination of Pregnancy?
However, some women have false positive results with this test so be sure to check out our tips for how to tell if the result is negative. For more information on confirming pregnancies, see our article: How To Tell When You Are Pregnant And Why It Is Important.
Some women experience nausea and vomiting during their first few weeks of being preggo, but that is totally normal. Nausea can go away in both morning and evening, making it difficult to determine whether you are feeling better because you ate earlier or because you just didn’t feel like eating anymore.
This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t eat though, as we will talk about that later! Hormonal changes also cause mood swings, irritability, and other shifts in emotions. All of these are completely normal and will pass after you give birth.
Consider adoption
Tumblr media
While many people feel that abortion is an easy choice, there are actually serious consequences to this decision. Not only can having an abortion be emotionally difficult, but also physically. You may not know it, but your pregnancy could have potential health risks for you or your baby.
Some of these possible complications include:
Bleeding
Infection
Placenta abruption (where the placenta comes away from the wall of the uterus)
Embryo death due to miscarriage
Premature birth
Low oxygen in the blood caused by poor circulation
Heart defects
Certain cancers such as uterine cancer
It’s important to remember that even if you choose to keep the child, it doesn’t guarantee that everything will work out fine! Having an abortion can pose some risk to your overall health.
Abortion isn't always a totally safe option, which is why we urge everyone to consider both options before making any decisions. If you do decide to go through with an abortion, make sure you discuss all the possibilities clearly and honestly with your doctor.
You should speak to your doctor about what medical tests you need after your procedure and how long you must remain still and/or rested until you can walk properly. Your doctor will advise you on whether there is an opportunity to re-enter the clinic for further treatment later on, depending on how well you responded to initial care at the first facility.
Is it illegal to have an abortion?

Having an early abortion is not illegal in most situations, nor are doctors who perform abortions liable for prosecution. It is very important to know that although having an abortion may be legal, there can still be serious complications due to miscarriage or childbirth.
Many women’s health clinics offer services such as counseling before and after an abortion to help you feel more prepared. Medical professionals also go through rigorous training to ensure proper performance of these procedures.
Some countries make it difficult to obtain an abortion by placing undue restrictions on where patients can get one done. In some cases, pregnant individuals must travel long distances to find appropriate care. This can put stress on young people seeking medical attention and prevent them from getting the needed help they need.
Is it safe?

The safety of abortion has improved dramatically since the early days when many women did not have access to reliable information or proper care. Now, with better medical technology and more education for physicians, patients are able to receive higher quality, safer abortions every time.
Before the advent of safe, legal abortion, many practitioners were unsafe. Some practiced illegal procedures or used outdated techniques that could be harmful. Others didn’t inform patients about potential complications or gave only the most optimistic risk estimates. And even if they did tell their patients how dangerous abortion can be, few doctors offer referral services so patients may get no additional help in finding a provider who is right for them-or vice versa.
Fortunately, due to advances in both medicine and public awareness, deaths from unintended pregnancy and miscarriage have dropped by over 90 percent since 1970, when 1 out of 100 pregnancies resulted in death. At the same time, serious complication rates have dropped too.
Today, around 0.3% of all legally performed abortions result in death of the patient.
What happens to my fetus?

After pregnancy, your baby will go through stages of development depending on how far along you are in your pregnancy. Some things may be able to feel pain at this stage while others don’t.
At around 6-8 weeks into a pregnancy, your baby feels movement for the first time. This is called embryonic motion or pulsation. By 9 weeks most babies can sense light and dark so they will begin moving towards brighter lights and shutting off their senses as darkness gets closer.
Some people notice changes in skin tone and texture at this stage which come from the embryo developing blood vessels. Yours may look slightly reddish due to the developing red bone marrow.
By 10 weeks some babies can move their hands and feet (called fetal movements). These usually occur daily and seem to increase in frequency as the week goes on!
These are very special times because not only do you have a little person inside you, but you get to watch them develop every day!
Legal abortions in Singapore happen before 24 weeks when the foetus has a chance to experience embryonic life and birth. Beyond that, there are medical procedures available to help with the rest of the termination.
