Bessmert
This is something that was pointed out to me on the official discord server. So I'm going to talk about it here as well. Spoilers for Notes on Shuòrì and a tiny bit on Theft of the Rimet Cup under the read more.
As I said, someone on the discord server pointed out to me that Bessmert sounds exactly the same as the ??? lady that shows up in Theft of the Rimet Cup. I know cn people and those that follow it probably knew for a bit but let me have this for a moment. Which leads to a bit more interesting things about her character. In Theft of the Rimet Cup she signs off in the first chapter as "-The Friend from Afar" which directly lines up with a couple of messages in the mail that we have gotten in game.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first one was from the start of the game, and the second one being from the ending of the Revival! The Uluru Games, the other events have a similar messages I'm pretty sure, I'm not going to try and sift through all of them. The interesting thing is this means that Vertin is in contact with Bessmert in some way as each one is with the sender being "A Friend from Afar."
The really interesting thing to come from them sounding the exact same comes from the end of Theft of the Rimet Cup, where Bessmert writes a bit more. This time directly addressing "readers of UTTU." Now this either means she works for UTTU or close to the group. Which could explain on why Tommy at the start of Rimet Cup seemingly recognized her

Reverse: 1999 : Disabled Characters
The game doesn't stray too far on the neurodivergent allegory for the arcanists themselves. But at the same time, there are also inclusions of other characters who are very much known to be disabled. So for this post I'll delve into that, just a bit.
Now, there are 10 characters that I want to put in the spotlight. These mostly lean towards being canon, but a part of these are also researched upon and shortened so the post doesn’t become way too long.
Cristallo, Rabies, Erick : Chronic Illness
It's quite self explanatory that Cristallo herself has a chronic illness. She was born prematurely, with an added condition that makes her physically fragile. As seen in the game, she needs a life-support system to maintain her health when she's outside. It's also implied that her condition may be a recurrent cancer, as her arcane abilities are tied to a machine that provides cobalt therapy, a known advancement in radiotherapy in the post-WWII era.
Rabies is an odd case. In his stories, it's noted that Adam cured Alicia through unknown means at the cost of contracting rabies himself. However, instead of the virus being acute and guaranteed to be fatal, it becomes a chronic illness to Rabies due to the abundance and use of arcanum. And since the rabies virus attacks the brain, his cognitive capabilities and ability to recall things before the present had been impaired, making him rather docile and animal-like in nature as a result.
Erick, as revealed in her anecdote, has a hereditary blood condition that came with her arcane skill. With her arcane skill making her physically powerful, overusing it will accelerate the effects of her blood condition to the point that it can become fatal. To prevent this, she also inherited an armband from her grandfather, Harald. The armband suppresses one's ability to use arcane skills, but by extension it also prevents Erick's condition getting worse.
Shamane : Amputee
Shamane's circumstances are also self-explanatory. He lost his arm for unknown reasons, but after having lived without it for 20 years, it doesn't bother him anymore. However as we know, he crafted his prosthetic arm as a means to avoid scaring kids. (which I think is quite cool in itself)
Ms. Radio, Bessmert : Blindness
Ms. Radio and our new friend, Bessmert, are both canonically blind. Ms. Radio has stated that she cannot see, and asks Vertin to left in places where she can feel temperatures to make her feel at peace.
And as we know, Yenisei (or in other words, Yenisei's VA) has stated in the 1.6 livestream that Bessmert is known to be blind, but even with that, she's a great researcher and guide to her.
Mesmer Jr. : OCD [Content Warning: Mentions of Self Harm and Suicide.]
Mesmer Jr.'s character has heavily implied throughout the main story and her own to have OCD as a result of the traumatic experiences she had gone through from her field of work and her family’s history in it. She identifies that she has "incurable" anxiety, which causes her to think differently about arcanists and act a little irrationally from our own perspective. This anxiety results in double checking everything and having a slightly intensive routine.
This routine is created as a means to maintain herself and her own sanity, but an imbalance or interruption can greatly upset her. As a result, she has conflicting ideals, experiences hallucinations and panic attacks, has suicidal thoughts, and actively inflicts self harm as a means to cope with her anxiety. However, she’s calmer and at peace with herself when she's left alone in a quieter and clean space, away from others, and where nature is heard more than constant buzzing. In short, Mesmer Jr.’s mental health is really complex and would be better if it's explored in a separate post.
Baby Blue : Alice in Wonderland syndrome
It's no secret that Baby Blue has Alice in Wonderland syndrome, or in other words dysmetropsia. This affects her perception of reality and her ability to recall, but this in turn makes her arcane abilities all the more powerful. As a result, she doesn't realize that she's growing up, yet it seems she doesn't mind that much. This doesn't seem to affect her physically either; In fact, it has a heavy influence on how she displays her arcane skills.
Poltergeist : Social Anxiety
Poltergeist has been known to be anxious in social settings which conflicts with her people-pleasing tendencies. She's also insecure about herself which adds up to her not wanting to be directly perceived. At the same time, she doesn't like being left alone as a result of having been ignored and forgotten post mortem. Poltergeist is also elaborate (i.e. not wanting to be looked at for too long) yet awkward at the same time when communicating them.
However, I'm not sure how to describe Poltergeist's case quite well, but the idea of her having social anxiety resonates greatly in my mind, so it can be treated as a partial headcanon.
Balloon Party : Autism and Speech Impairment
Balloon Party as a child had contracted an illness that caused her to have a persistent high fever. In the end, she awakened her arcane skill this way, with her being able to cough up balloons that can be harmful or a cure to anything.
However, it might have also affected her speech because of the physical strain that comes from coughing, it results to BP's speech being a bit slow and having abnormal pauses before she speaks again. Though, this also might be a sign of her possibly also having autism, where rigid and uneven language development is a common pattern in how autism affects one's ability in communication. Her speech also has a pattern of echolalia, having a flat tone, and lack of control of it.
However, speech impediment isn't everything about autism, and there's a lot more about BP's character that also connects with it such as her special interests. I can better explore this in a different post, which will be explained below.
Last Notes
These are the characters I’ve written down, most of these are less headcanon and more of observations I’ve found when looking into these characters. Some people from the lore chat have also added their own insights on some of them. (Thank you lupjo for beta-reading through it and helping me out)
Of course, there are a few more characters I want to discuss because of the implications of them having autism / ADHD, but these will be written in another post in the future because I still need to research and gather other information. Additionally, it would be an opportunity to talk about the connections between an arcanist’s and neurodivergent person’s relationships with modern society.
Congrats for reaching the bottom of this post, and feel free to add your own ideas or headcanons about the characters here and/or any other ones.

Most of these are probably not directly cannon as they are used to represent a part of a story, but they exist so I'm putting them all there.

The trashbag is Matilda, and once again they are using characters in place for enemies but you could take the "Head of _" as maybe as character traits. I still find it wild they put Cristallo as the Head of Temptation.

This set has to probably do with what their number means, interesting thing to note is all of the ones we see are ones that are alive at the time. Having survived the storm with context. The only one that doesn't fit this is Newbabel who we don't know if she did or not.

These are more overall descriptions of the character themselves. Another one for Diggers making 4 giving him the most unique descriptions.

Report in The Star and its info on the Storm
This is a second post about this info on the Storm from the 1.4 update. A link to the first post will be at the bottom of this one. Spoilers under the keep reading button. I know this late as hell, I kinda forgot about this and only now got back to it. Hopefully post more soon.
A quick timeline of the report in this mini chapter, it is written by Greta Hoffman and mainly is set in 1985-1987. She talks a bit about 37's mother and Sophia's father in it but it does give a tiny bit more info about the storm. The text in game will be bolded and in quotes.
"That was 1985, a gloomy, miserable night compared to that peaceful morning in 1996, when we were only bothered by confusion.
We didn’t expect time to be reversed again, nor did we understand the consequence.
Even now, I still remember Paulina’s desperate cry.  One of her hands was already inside the safe area when she fell at the entrance to the headquarters, and that was the only part of her left to us the next second.
The only legacies we found were an engagement ring on that hand and her favorite blue polka dot scarf, which we used to wrap her remains in the end."
While we did already have the dates this does give us another piece of information, if someone/something is only partially in the field only the bit that is in the safe area is going to be safe.
"In 1986, I was assigned to the office in Egypt.  All my friends came to the doc to see me off …"
This leads us into the main portion of the report, the next few bits are about Greta's time on the ship to the new place where she meets 37's mother and Sophia's father. As of now I'll be skipping those and going to where there is more info on the storm.
"After that, I spent more than half a year in the Egypt office.  Things were even worse than I expected.
Some have gone missing after the “Storm”: the people who were supposed to be in the Egypt office, according to the member list stored in the headquarters in 1985, were not there when I arrived."
As of now, I can't make much of the missing people that are supposed to be in the office. In the end its most likely not completely storm related. The bit of text also advances the year a bit.
"Before the disagreement was settled, the “Storm” in 1987 was predicted.  We were ordered to return to the headquarters 24 hours before its arrival.
But the prediction was not accomplished by Laplace.  A captive from Manus Vindictae named the precise date of that “Storm.”
Our enemy, those lunatic xenophobes valuing only pure blood, made it further than we did.
Yes, we built observation stations, we made countless deductions, we developed multiple simulation models …
We made efforts, we sacrificed life, we did whatever we could …
Yet, the result that we didn’t find any other regions immune to the “Storm” except the headquarters and another one in North America.
In the end, 95% of the branch members were reversed, 87.9% of the equipment was destroyed, and 100% of our predictions failed."
This gives us the exact year that this storm takes place, this gap of time was 1985 to 1987. This also sets the president that while the Foundation is better off in human tech and science the Manus are really ahead in understanding the storm than them. One other thing this gives us is a tiny bit more info on where is safe from the storm. The foundation headquarters, a branch in North America, Aperion, wherever the Manus set up, and the suitcase are outright stated places to be immune to the storm.
"On the same day, the first and only Timekeeper who just took office, the twelve-year-old child, returned alone from the “Storm.”
She told us the time in the outside world at that point.
And that is how I knew she was right.
“It is right in front of you.”
But, if there is a god, why are you playing such a prank on us, after we had suffered from the collapse of all existing orders and the failures of all the great laws?
If this is what she called the glimpse of the supreme existence, the moment of afflatus, do you have to present it in such a cruel way?
The last two digits in the number of the year after that “Storm” were exactly the name … and her number.
77."
The ending bit of the report gives us a key piece of information, this is the year that Vertin became timekeeper. Which also means that this is the storm depicted in the flashback portion of chapter 3. The one where the kids ran out into the storm and turned into shapes, and the same one where 37's mother and Sophia's father died to the storm. Turning into shapes.
Just like in the prologue where people turned into statues, other living things turning into comic book like drawings, and the world melting into a colorful comic book like ink, and in chapter 2 where people started to eat gold thinking it was food while they saw normal food as trash. It seems like people turning into geometry may have to do with something of that time period. As in the 1960s was the age of pop, and 1929 was the start of the great depression (even if the manus started it early) both storms seems to have something to do with the year that it takes place. Forget Me Not also mentions people's veins turned into cables in one of the 1990s storms, now I cant exactly say if this is the 1999 storm or the 1996 storm (I'm placing my bets on 1999.

Hello my r1999 soldiers. I am looking for people able to help me with the making of a website that'll contain the story logs. Writing them down one by one is going to take me thirteen years if I do that, so may I ask, are any of you willing to help with providing the logs? Including the branching dialogue options? Something along these lines:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you wanna help, please feel free to dm me here with the info, or message me on discord at friedfishforsale.
Currently am focusing on writing the main story, specifically with the This is Tomorrow (prologue) and In Our Time.

These all are actual things, or close to the real thing that is in Pythagoreanism. The two that I have the hardest tell if they are actually real is 6 and 9. Its hard to find references at the moment, the one I do know the most about is the first rule. "Abstain from beans." Its hard to find exactly what's going on with this rule but it was a thing in Pythagoreanism. Pythagoras specifically prohibited the consumption of Fava Beans, alongside the meat of a non-sacrificial animal. (There are also sources that say otherwise, but with the game going with not eating beans I'ma continue like its true.) The reasons I have found on why this was a thing was either they contain the spirits of the dead, another probable cause is Favism, a result with someone who has G6PD or "Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency" consumes Fava Beans. He may have made a connection with eating beans and getting sick so as a way round solution he banned beans.
Also Swallows were associated with Aphrodite, and White Roosters may have to do with Alectryomancy (A form of divination). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alectryomancy
Apeiron's Ancient Rules/Taboos
Oh, don't mind me! I'm just gonna list down all of the ancient rules the Apeirons should follow. This was recorded by Ms. Radio, so if you're having trouble remembering, I can give you a help!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Abstain from beans.
Do not pick up what has fallen.
Touch not a white rooster.
Do not poke the fire with swords.
Do not jump over a crossbar.
Do not cut wood on a main road.
Do not enter the hall in new garments. Enter the hall from the right and leave from the left.
Do not keep swallows around your house.
Do not sleep on a grave.
Make the bed as soon as you wake up, leaving no imprint of your body.
I never been taught or researched much about Pythagoreanism, so if anyone knows history, leave a comment on what these rules are referenced!

Apeiron's Numerical Categorization
All screenshots are from Villenthessis on Youtube and all web event results are from me and the members of Reverse 1999 server
Ahem! So I wanna try something new today, and it's about how the Apeiron's categorizes arcanists and humans with numerical meanings with the help of lorechat members. This was explained by 37. Remember, these categorization are not determined by one's lineage. Let's go read, shall we?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Integers are living example of virtues."
I'm guessing Integers are categorized for arcanists that possesses great knowledge or seen as someone who you can look up to as an example. Sonetto, Vertin, and APPLe are the examples of this.
Tumblr media
"You are well-behaved, proactive, have excellent morals, and work hard to expand your set"
2. "Fractions can be understood through specific means."
This one line really piqued my interest because Lilya and Ms. Radio are categorized as Fractions. I was enlightened that you have to have a way of thinking to truly understand why Fractions act the way they are! No wonder Lilya has never been bothered by Abraxases or are ignored by the Apeirons while she wanders around.
Tumblr media
"You are internally stable, confident, skilled in everything, and have your own set of behavioral logic"
3. "Irrational numbers are free spirits,"
Like it said, Irrational numbers are free spirits. They follow their own rules and most likely stubborn. Regulus is the only prime example of this because she broke 2 rules in the main story and got fucking wiped. Poor girl haha! XD
Tumblr media
"You are spontaneous, free and "untraceable", with an unruly heart that follows its own rules."
4. "while imaginary numbers are the existence which doesn't belong to this dimension of the number axis."
Tumblr media
So, to put it simply, imaginary numbers are just ordinary people. Humans. They don't care about us. That's it. :P
Ahh... It's been a while I ramble something more "productive", let's say haha! It's thanks to the lorechat members of the server I'm able to make this post. You wanna join the server? then go to #1999-story-spoiler when you're verified!
wanna overanalyze your faves? wanna constantly go off topic? wanna talk about your insane low rarity ship without being stoned by #help-question for not using meta? join lorechat today!

Chapter 5 New Storm Info
With 1.4 we got some more info about the "Storm." Below the read more will be spoilers to chapter 5.
Starting with what 37 has about the storm, at first we learn what knows it as and what they think of it. As Apeiron is immune to the storm and isolated from the world they have different information and thoughts on it.
Tumblr media
Pneuma is a Greek word for "breath", but if used in a religious context it can mean "soul." (I don't know what to make of this myself.)
They put the current year as 2007, as it would be that year if the storm never happened. So that means the storm has been around for 7ish years.
Later on we learn more about the dates and the fact that 37 and her mother predicted the years it happened.
Tumblr media
The years on the monitor are 1999 - 1996 2000 - 1985 2003 - 1977 2004 - 1930s 2006 - 1912 2007 - 1966 1930s is taken from dialog, and 1977 is brought up in the report in The Star.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This tells us a few key things, first off that, excluding the latest storm there is a pattern that was able to be used to predict future storms. The monitor doesn't have the 1966 to 1929 or the 1929 to 1913 storms, tho the latter was messed with the Manus so it may break the pattern. Other key points it gives is the years of previous storms and the fact that the storm does not just move back in time, it also can jump forward as with the 1912 to 1966 storm. It could be inferred from the Green Lake event, but not directly stated. (Side note, 37 says 7 storms, the monitor shows 6, and adding the 1929 to 1913 storm it makes a total of 8.)

I just now noticed that Vertin's model in the Three Doors has a strange marking on her back. We know that she has some sort of scar or brand that's moon-shaped, but the supposed "eye" is missing so I'm not sure if it's supposed to be the same thing Arcana saw in the orange scene... It could be something completely different for all I know haha (I haven't been listening to the narrator very closely)

About the watch
When I first played this event I was really confused by how Vertin's watch looked but I think I figured out how it works kinda. Stuff under the read more.
Both have Roman Numerals on them. The first time we see Vertins watch it has I IX I IV which is 1914, the current year that the story is at.
Tumblr media
The second time we see it its after 37 "Fixed" the watch. Changing it to the time of Apeiron which is uninfected by the storm. It has II N N VII, now N can be used as 0 as its the first letter of Nulla. A Latin word meaning none or nothing. Tho N is is unofficial. This makes means the Roman Numerals are 2007, the year 37 says it is.
Tumblr media
The way you would read the year on it would go from Right, Top, Bottom, Left.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They most likely use the watch as an on hand way of keeping track of time as time has gotten pretty chaotic with the whole "storm" going around messing it all up. This could also be a Vertin item or a field person item as they most likely need to keep track of it a bit more due to not being in a safe building constantly.

the rain.
(content warning: vague description of overstimulation; sensory overload)
its loud. even though its only ever the light rain from the windows. the room is locked; so are the windows, covered with a curtain. but it's all the same. the droplets hitting the ground, the thunder that roars above. the light in the room humming and buzzing. loud pounding of a heartbeat.
it all gets louder, and louder. my stomach turned, chest heaving. i grabbed at my ears as if i'd fall if i let go. i could not utter a cry as much as my mind desperately wanted to. only feeling the burning tears fall and the goosebumps prickling at my skin.
the only thing i could think of is that night. shapes rising, clothes falling, the clinking of rings, thunder and rainfall, black and white in a hazy gaze, and the pounding heartbeat.
for a while i wished i could hide somewhere dark and quiet. not like the guardhouse, where the shamir worms ate away at my skin when i slept. but just a simple, dark, and quiet place. to feel the ease in my body and the mind to be silent. it would've let me forget about the rainfall, and the trauma that can never be changed. let me forget about the pain and grief that my heart carries.
i hated the rain, for a while. but now its a noise i can never escape, one i've come to conclude i have to live with. a noise i equate to the ringing of funeral bells. humming, buzzing. pitter-patter, roaring, pounding. all until it became a painful ringing that would never end. not until i fix it. not until the rain falls from the sky again.
