OMG YES YES YES to Taylor-Johnson!! 😍😍😍
Jonathan Lipnicki has too much of a baby face in my opinion, but we know it’s not only about looks, a skilled actor would summon the right attitude. ❤️
Hear me out….
Ian Somerhalder as EUSTASS
They have like very similar expressions, it’s the smirk and the pissy face for me. So have this shitty edit I did in 45 mins

Ahh I love Ian but that man is 45 years old!

So cool! Kid looks older than he is tho, so in a way it works for me.
I’ve been thinking about live action Eustass Kid (if they even make it that far) and the only guy that came to my mind that maaaay resemble him is Robert Pattison? Although I know they would choose a relatively unknown actor (and I’m fine with that).

Sorry it’s early but you really can’t use fanfiction terms in a non fanfiction context like if someone is trying to sell me a book to read and they tell me there’s an enemy to lovers I would be annoyed because why are you spoiling the story lol

May I ask you in which sbs Oda talked about Killer's training for the New World? I mean which number, I'm curious😅
I have no idea. I hope it was an SBS and I hope I didn't make it up, but I have this memory.
If you ever find it, let me know.

Speaking of Emperors, since law said he would probably be leaving to train; What about douya? do you think she would leave as young as him or stick around with kidd and birdie
SPOILER FOR EMPERORS BELOW!
Doruya will leave soon. There's no way she'll accept being held back when Law is allowed to go on his own adventure. She won't go immediately because she's too young (they are 14), and her aim is different from Law's: he is going on a safe place, among trusted people, to train. Doruya wants to put a crew together and take the sea, so Kid & birdie won't allow her to go immediately, she'll have to be 17. But there will be a compromise, you'll see.

Kid and Killer are so muscular and beefy 👀😏🤩 do they workout daily or is it just because of the metal and blades they're almost permanently wearing?
For Kid, I replied here.
Killer does work out regularly. Oda stated in the SBS that he specifically focused on training his body for the New World, that's how he got so beefy during the timeskip.

kid attracts metal, that's his power but what happens if during so one of the metals going to him accidentaly hits birdie? how would both react in the situation??
I wrote a scene based on this concept on my story Small. (even though Kid had trouble controlling his powers and emotions because he was in his child form there, courtesy of Bonney's abilities).
Aside from that, I think it depends on how much birdie gets hurt. There's a scene in Captive where the crew shows scars from getting caught in Kid's metal frenzy, so I would say... Kid is pretty liberal with his tornado of scraps. 😅 So if birdie isn't seriously injured, nothing would happen.
Honestly, I can't see Kid accidentally hitting birdie in a serious manner. For him to lose control of his power to that extent and her not being able to move out of the way, it would have to be an extreme situation, so getting out alive would be the priority. Obviously Kid would be upset, it would make old guilt about hurting her/being bad for her resurface, but nothing both can't get over with.

Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month: Nonfiction Recommendations
Speak, Okinawa by Elizabeth Miki Brina
Elizabeth’s mother was working on U.S.-occupied Okinawa when she met the American soldier who would become her husband. The language barrier and power imbalance defining their early relationship followed them to the predominantly white, upstate New York suburb where they moved to raise their daughter. There, Elizabeth grew up with the trappings of a typical American childhood, while feeling almost no connection to her mother’s distant home and out of place among her peers. This account is a heartfelt exploration of identity and what it means to be an American.
Asian American Histories of the United States by Catherine Ceniza Choy
Original and expansive, this volume is a nearly 200-year history of Asian migration, labor, and community formation in the U.S. Reckoning with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and the surge in anti-Asian hate and violence, historian Catherine Ceniza Choy presents an urgent social history of the fastest growing group of Americans. The book features the lived experiences and diverse voices of immigrants, refugees, US-born Asian Americans, multiracial Americans, and workers from industries spanning agriculture to healthcare.
Seeing Ghosts by Kat Chow
Born two years after her parents’ only son died just hours after his birth, Kat Chow became unusually fixated with death. She worried constantly about her parents dying - especially her mother. Four years later when her mother dies unexpectedly from cancer, Kat, her two older sisters, and their father are plunged into a debilitating, lonely grief. In this memoir, Kat weaves together what is part ghost story and part excavation of her family’s history of loss spanning three generations and their immigration from China and Hong Kong to America and Cuba.
Rise by Jeff Yang, Phil Yu, & Philip Wang
In this intimate, eye-opening, and frequently hilarious guided tour through the pop-cultural touchstones and sociopolitical shifts of the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and beyond, authors Yang, Yu, and Wang chronicle how we’ve arrived at today’s unprecedented diversity of Asian American cultural representation through engaging, interactive graphics, charts, graphic essays from major AAPI artists, exclusive roundtables with Asian American cultural icons, and more.

Do you ever feel like you have to wrestle with your own characters?
Birdie and I had a serious disagreement in the latest chapter of Bonds. She really wanted to spat something out loud that would have side-tracked the entire final scene.
Eventually I convinced her to keep her mouth shut but she did so begrudgingly. In return, I cannot stifle her anymore for the rest of the story. With Onigashima coming up, I’m not sure what bullshit she might get into anymore.
Keep your fingers crossed for your homegirl. 🤞
