Creative Media Training in Norwich
Access to Music Norwich launches its Creative Media Diploma this year and the next couple of weeks are your last opportunity to apply to join us. So, if you, or someone you know, has an interest in media and would like to learn more about; video production; presenting; TV production; blogging; or how to get the most out of social media platforms such as YouTube, please read on for more information.
What’s it all about?
This Creative Media course has been designed with a focus on the ever-evolving world of new and online media, while also incorporating more traditional disciplines - such as how to present to camera or sound design for film or TV. Tutors and industry professionals will guide you through many exciting media processes, including training in the use of modern devices and software for media, over a period of 1-2 years while you complete it. On completion you will have gained an Advanced National Diploma in Creative Media Production - BTEC L3 (equivalent to 3 A-levels and worth up to 420 UCAS points depending on your grade). This qualification will take you to the next level - whether you decide to go directly into work, or on to higher education.
Where is it?
Access to Music College Norwich is based in a former Anglia Television centre, now operating as an independent TV studio and music venue. So, as soon as you begin with us, you will find yourself immersed in an exciting music/media environment. By the time you leave us, you will be armed with a ‘concept to completion’ understanding of essential media production and marketing processes, based on theory and real-world experiences of the media sector in practice.
Subjects taught on the Norwich Creative Media course include:
Videography and editing (including music video production) Digital media marketing (including social media for promotion) Producing and publishing your own video blog TV Studio production (including presenting) Working as a freelancer in the Creative Media sector
Who else is involved?
We are incredibly lucky to have some very highly esteemed partners involved with our Creative Media course in Norwich. Alongside Access to Music tutors, students will also benefit from our existing relationships with associate teachers and guest speakers, such as Eugene Riecansky (Rockstar) and Nicola & Sam Chapman (Pixiwoo). We are also very excited about working with The Blogger Programme on various projects over the coming months.
You will be given opportunities to take part in Q&As with industry professionals, work to briefs set by them and receive their expert feedback and career advice while you are with us.
How much will it cost?
It’s free to those between 16-18, though there is a voluntary contribution (£95) which helps us to pay for your involvement in activities such as festivals and masterclasses etc. Limited funded places are also available for those aged 19-23. Loans are available for those aged 24+
Entry requirements?
4 x GCSEs above C and a keen interest in media. However, those who can demonstrate their passion for media at interview and examples of their work, will be considered on individual merit.
