Am curious and ur boob cactus post reminded me-- why are the cacti they sell in stores so small? Do they just need time to grow, bc I feel like every one I've had has stayed at like six inches?? If I want a chunky boy do I just need to wait or is it gonn have to be a Big Purchase
Yeah, many cacti grow very slowly when kept in pots but also, most larger cacti tend to be very delicate and hard to ship to plant shops in the usual fashion for varying reasons (some are fragile, they're heavy, they are... spikey) so also do end up being very expensive.
My cacti mostly take their sweet time growing and only grow at all in a really narrow window of time every year which I don't mind so much because I have far too many. My euphorbia, on the other hand, do what they want.
#this makes me feel better#Logan doesn't grow much and I'm always kinda scared I'm watering a corpse#it's good to know that they just don't grow quickly

2nd march 2020
Imagine when I have time to make a TRIPLE plant hanger for that far right spot? 👌🏻🤤 It will be like a tetris installation
#I'd love to do something like that with some of mine!#I'm saving that idea of hanging plants from the curtain rod

Caddy is flowering! The flowers are pretty small right now but it's really cool to see the little yellow flowers peaking out on the tips.

As testy as succulents can be to grow, I’m glad they’re hearty little things, especially in winter time. Due to a dip in my mental health, I didn’t really take care of them for almost a full month (bad, I know), and I’m very glad that it’s winter so most of my plants were going into hibernation around that time anyways as they all seem to be doing fine despite my lapse in care.
Anyways, I’m back now and should be able to maintain a mostly regular schedule again. I’m hoping having them to take care of will help me get out of this bad mental space.
#ace chats#my children#I mean Caddy is a little smelly but everyone else is doing fine#and winter is Caddy's growing season anyways so it's expected that they're gonna complain about my lack of care for them#personal life has gone downhill for the past three weeks and I neglected the children out of that#but it's no excuse for being a bad plarent#I'll try to get updated photos of them tomorrow but they don't look like they've changed much#besides Logan having his dirt shifted around to be able to stand up more instead of leaning like he wants to#I really need to get some of them bigger/different pots but that's something to work on later

I don’t play The Sims at all but I’ve gotten back into watching a lot of Sims 4 YouTuber and building content lately and there was a new update to the game that added a lot more plant décor. I’m living for this, all the items are really pretty and I’m having fun seeing which plants I recognize or can name (I audibly gasped when someone put down a string of pearls light because it’s so pretty) and there are a few that’s on the edge of my memory but I just can’t name. Maybe someone else will name it in a video.
