chaemin-jeon:
Chaemin was developing a bit of a bad habit it seemed. He really shouldn’t be frequenting the bar as much as he was but it wasn’t as if he would do anything about it. No one cared much about him enough to make any intervention and it wasn’t as if he would live long enough to see the biological drawbacks of all the drinking. Not with the life he was living. He snorted into his drink at the thought. It was a slow day it seemed. Only the depressed drinking their thoughts away. It was boring Chaemin a bit and honestly he was about a few minutes away from continuing his drinking fest at home instead of these peasant’s presence when he heard the voice. He turned to eye the man who had cried out the impromptu card game. He was attractive, that was his first thought and that alone was enough to interest him to join him. He stood from the stool and made his way over with a smile. “Sure. I’m not exactly the best but it has to be more interesting than what anyone else is offering here.”

rubyrednightingale:
Another game was afoot. The very moment her phone screen lit up with the darkened memo, she’d gotten right to work. Riddles had never been her forte, but she’d be even worse of not trying at all. After all, there was always that sliver of a chance. She’d taken the time with both of her roommates being out to spread across the small living room space.
Multiple poster boards scribbled upon, pictures printed – the room itself looked like something of a movie scene. One of cops going rampant to put the pieces of the puzzle together - to catch the murderer. One poster in particular reciting the lines that had appeared on the small screen: “Did you miss me?” “I have the key, can you find me?” big and bold, she’d stared at those few words for hours, waiting for it to click with what little information was given.
Hardly even concerned with the key, Ruby was more concerned with finding out ANSWERS. She wanted to find whoever this was, whoever was behind this, and put it all away once and for all. Believing that with those answers this could all come to an end – for herself at least. Tired of living on edge.
What a wild goose chase it seemed to be, pouring over the initial click of BELL TOLLS, Metallica?? Pirates?? It hardly made sense. What she needed was a second eye, someone who was better at this than she. Right on cue came the KNOCK! to the door. Slamming her computer shut, it was safe to assume it wasn’t one of her roommates given the knock, she peered through the eye hold curiously before opening up wide eyed as he launched into his pitch.
Tumblr media
Not a word was said wedged between the door and its frame until he was finished speaking. His honesty caused a twitch of a smile to cross her lips. “Oddly enough, I understand completely.” she admitted, given her own less than stellar job situation. Glancing back in the room, she hesitated before turning her head back with a bright smile. “Do you … wanna come in? I can’t promise I’ll buy a new vacuum, but you look like you could use a break, and admittedly so could I.” last words more muttered under her breath as she pushed the door open in full. “I’ve gotta check on that vacuum anyways, though spoiler alert, I don’t think we actually have one.”
Alex let out a sigh of relief. “Phew. Boy that same speech over and over again  is EXHAUSTING.” At the idea of actually getting a sit down, he sprung at the opportunity. “Boy would I!” he said hysterically. To be fair he did not particularly care about selling this damn vacuum any more, though it could be a bonus. “Well I mean you’d be helping a desperate old man out. I mean I am just empty of pockets-” Aleks fumbled into his pockets, turning them inside out, forgetting that deep inside there was a few couple hundred notes stashed inside, and they scattered to the ground. “Ah.” Aleks stared down at the money. “Pretend you never saw that.” Aleks bent down to pick up the money and stuffing them back in the pocket before stepping inside the other’s place happily.
Tumblr media
“Nice place you got here though,” he commented. Though to be fair he’d only seen the hallway. Still, it was making conversation. “Thanks for allowing me in. I’ve not had a moments break since 5am this morning. You had a busy day too, huh?” Remembering her mention of needing a break.

This city was far too big. He’d only been around this place six months so he supposed it was still expected. Hell, he was hardly fluent in Romanian either and boy was he thankful if he bumped into someone that actually spoke Russian. Hell also, he couldn’t even remember the street name he was trying to get to. You know what - he really was going to quit his job this time. Just when a taxi was approaching, he heard another guy commenting on his actions. Rude.
“Problem?”  Taxi rides are FUN! - Mom! Are we there yet?” He mimicked the last part in a girly childish tone before smiling innocently. “How else would one get around Bucharest - tube? All those sweaty men pressing their armpits into your face. Hm, just how I like ‘em. Hot and sweaty.”  No thanks, the tube just made him nauseous. A bike was one other option, but he had the money for a taxi - so why the hell not?

Sights set || Dorian & Aleks
@aceofaleks
Dorian wasn’t one to let a game play out for far too long, or else he’d get bored, but from the looks of this one, it’s been played for quite some time. Many attempts had been made on his targets life, but all in all if anyone is putting a bullet through the man’s heart, it was going to be Dorian. The man was wanted, but wanted dead.  That didn’t mean he couldn’t mess with the guy, after all, his target didn’t even know who the hell was hunting him. All in due time when this one would meet his end. However for now, he’d just have to see what entertainment he could provide, just for amusement. It wasn’t like Dorian to actually engage with his target, it was mostly bullet in the head, kill the family, however they wanted it done, it would be. A fucking gem, worth a shit load.
His eyes had already followed him as Aleks was walking along the road, asking for a Taxi, trying to get more acquainted with the city, this guy stood out like fucking loser. Dorian had been here six years now, and he knew this city well, this one just looked real sad. Taking a cigarette as he walked down along with the crowd, he stopped right at the curb like Aleks was doing. “Taxi, really?” his voice was pleasant, but still held a boredom in it. After all he wasn’t at all amused by this.

Pretend you saw nothing || Aleks + Talia
@onlyhumanxtalia
Car? That was too mainstream. Besides, the traffic in the capital city of Romania just was not worth the money. He had better things to do with his illegal wealth - like doing his door-to-door sales job on his bike. Fuck yeah, he could pull of cycling in a suit real well. In fact The Ace looked far too chuffed with himself whenever he went out riding on it with his head up high and a smile on his face.
Well, his day was going absolutely bike brilliant until he took a glimpse at some guy walking on the pavement beside him that reminded him so much of his ex-boyfriend he thought he was hallucinating. One way to give himself a fright of his life. By the time he tore his gaze away to pay attention to where he was going, it was too late. The Ace made a very sudden, forceful intimacy with a lamppost on his way down a cobbled-street. When the front wheel collided with the solid frame his body launched forward, his forehead smashing against the lamppost before his bike tumbled sideways, taking him along with it. “... Ow.” Alex moved his body so that he was sitting on the ground normally, laying his back to the post with his bike in a heap underneath his legs, attempting to wipe any dirt from his suit trousers ferociously with his hands. Well this was embarrassing. How many witnessed that?
Tumblr media
Apparently a fair few. Everyone was staring directly at him, snickering  a little or laughing with their friends before walking away and LEAVING HIM. I mean he could have a concussion. Well that was very unlikely. He probably only had a few scratches and a couple bruises. Ugh, some people. But his suit. Aleks glanced around, wondering if that twin of his ex was still haunting him. Phew. No sign. Maybe he should reenact that scene from Family Guy where Peter falls and hurts his knee. Alex groaned, taking a deep hissing inhale before exhaling “Aaaah,” clutching his knee in the process.
He was only doing that once. Alex simply sat against the post after that, smiling and chilling when he noticed a young woman approach him. “Hey there!” he said loudly. “Please say you never witnessed what just happened,” he muttered. “Wonderful day to use this... beautiful lamppost as a wall and... look up at the clouds and cloud gaze - and get a little tan on this cold February day, isn’t it?” He gave a smile.

victorconstantin:
Victor stubbed out the end of his cigarette on the paved stairway and grabbe the sign. He was already regretting this offer - his mentor had once said to never do for free, what people will pay you for. Perhaps ending his cabin fever was considered a payment of sorts, but he hardly trusted the suited man before him to cure his boredom. He looked like your typical salaryman - office job, young family, et cetera. Then again, in this city, nobody was quite as typical as they seemed. Given how serious Victor took his career, it was unlikely that his clients would assume about his less savoury side job.
Tumblr media
“Whatever you want,” he shrugged, pushing into the door with the side of his shoulder and stepping inside. “No portraits of your kids, though. Can’t risk getting sued when I accidentally draw your offspring as a potato.”
The artist fell into his seat, exasperated. People were fucking strange. “You consider your dog akin to your boyfriend? I’m well aware of the man’s closest companion thing, but I don’t think that’s what it means. Like I said, though, whatever you want.” Victor nodded and reached for a pad of tracing paper. “I’m sure I will,” he responded, though hardly convinced.
“Boy I don’t have any kids, never plan on it - don’t need to worry about that.” Alex laughed at the thought. At the mention of his dog he gave a wide grin, “You have no idea. I ditched my boyfriend for my dog in less than three minutes-” he paused “but that’s another story to tell another day.”
“So,” he began. “I was chilling at this casino, minding my own fucking business, right? And well, I guess some people are pretty damn jealous but I can’t help it if I’m so damn lucky.” Not to mention nearly all the time he rigged it, and was a complete king of being the trickster. However, he was lucky, that was apparent by the story he was about to tell. “I leave the casino after winning thousands, again - so yeah I was pretty happy, singing a tune walking down the street with my head up high. And then!” Alex started to increase the loudness of his tone as he got further into the story. “I saw this penny and like -dude - I was so going to pick up that penny. Like ‘ooooh! Shiny! Good luck!’”
“And just when I bend down-” he mimicked the incident by bending his knees, reaching for an invisible penny on the ground in front of them both “Then bang-smash!”  Alex stood back on his feet, using his hands to emphasise a window smashing. “A fucking gun-shot, I could actually feel it shoot past my head, like the hairs on my head moved it was so close to me. The window smashed in the shop next to me. And if I never picked up that penny my head would have a bullet hole through it.” Alex exhaled, he started to pace back and forth for a few seconds before he stood still again, staring at the other guy as he continued the story. “It came from above me on a nearby roof top but I never stopped to peer at the guy. I fucking bolted for it. Y’know zig zags. Trying to make it harder for the assassin to target.”
Tumblr media
“I escaped through a semi open window and through the back and a bunch of bushes. My beautiful suit was ruined,” Alex attempted to bring fake tears to his eyes, but his acting was atrocious - making it more like he was straining. “So okay, I recovered from that - but there was more. A few months later I was in the casino again. Minding my own business, I mean literally I went to go take a piss in the men’s room. And this GUY! Next to me. At least it could have been a guy, the creep had a fuck tone of layers I mean surely it wasn’t that cold - and he covered this face so I couldn’t see anything but the eyes. Anyway - he, or she, they, took out this knife.” Alex knew this one probably wouldn’t believe his story, but that was more than fine to him - better. He didn’t need everyone to know he had a bounty on his head and he was supposed to be undercover - although already he was wanting to give up with that idea. Fuck being a salesperson - he needed danger, excitement, the casino, the cheating. “They hired a fucking cut-throat. ME? What did I do to DESERVE such a thing? I mean I’m a nice guy. ” Alex grimaced, staring off blankly at the ground for a few minutes.Minus all the times he cheated people of their money and killed a couple who found out. “I barely made it out of there alive. I mean I’m not much of a fighter, but at the thought of me losing my life to some peasant hiding under this black mask- Something just sparked. This adrenaline pumped through my veins and my desire to LIVE was stronger than this guy’s pathetic attempt at slicing open my trachea." He sighed.
“I cheated death twice - three times. But let’s leave that for now. How about THAT for a headline?” Alex looked at the other with a wide eyed gaze, beaming intently at his fascinating story. I mean if he didn’t find that fascinating, he didn’t know what would - because that was a pretty fucking incredible one. How many cheated a paid assassin three times?

sofiavasile:
“It was a woman screaming,” the brunette specified, voice barely above a whisper as if being too loud would attract whatever had caused that woman to scream, and honestly, in this neighborhood it was probably entirely possible to stumble upon something that wasn’t meant for anyone else’s eyes. “I think so, yeah, but … I’m not sure.” With the panic that had suddenly taken hold of her, Sofia couldn’t be sure if the scream had really come from where the man was now pointing.
Tumblr media
Her lungs filled with cold air as she breathed in deeply, nodding, taking a few steps forward. She felt silly, like a scared child who was about to check her closet for monsters, but this guy was right. They should probably take a look just in case there was a woman who needed help.
“Oh boy.” Aleks held his breath, edging closer to the corner of the street before peering his body around to have a look. For what he could see, there was nothing out of the ordinary. In fact nothing at all. He turned his head behind him, cautioning the other to stay there while he investigated further. Alex did not want to put the girl at risk. “Stay here for a second, I’ll check it out.” So, naturally,Aleks decided to completely make himself known, with his hands in his pockets walking down the dark street. “Heel-loh-ho!” Aleks almost sung as he called out. “Anybody home?" The ace clearly had no sense of fear - except he did, but he was simply feeling lucky today. “Is the big bad wolf eating little miss riding hood here?”
Tumblr media
Aleks paused in his tracks, trying to focus on his hearing in case there was a woman that had been injured further down, unable to call for help clearly. He could have sworn he heard mumbling in the distant, a woman’s voice. Shit - this was no longer a time to be half-joking. “I hear someone!” he desperately shouted.
Alex started into a light jog, and then a run - making his way to the end of the street before glancing in both directions hastily and looking down upon the snow covered street. Blood. Droplets of red scattered across the white, leaving a trail to the left of the street. Before he turned the corner into the direction the blood was going he pulled out his cell from his pocket and immediately called the emergency services. In a hushed but solemn tone he spoke as he started to walk at a faster pace, following the trail of blood that seemed to thicken. Then he saw a body. “Hello I need an ambulance and the police at -” he looked up to find a street address, but found none. This was a dead end road. “We’re uh. At the back of a few buildings, there’s a street just off of... George Enescu,” he recalled. “There’s a lot of blood. I believe a woman has been fatally injured and needs immediate medical assistance.” Aleks hung up the phone.
Tumblr media
The creepiest part however, was there was no clear way of the killer to escape. A shiver crawled down his spine. Was the woman that he bumped into still by the brightly lit street, or was he just behind him?” Aleks glanced at the woman ahead of him still lying on the ground and then back from where he came. “Shit.”  He started to break a sweat, wondering if he should run and assist the injured lady or check that the other was just behind him.

My baseline’s pretty good, I think, aside from a few pretty intense anxiety hiccups over my life. I wouldn’t say I’m quantifiably happier now than I was when I lived in my shithole studio apartment on Wilcox in Hollywood. I’m also old enough to understand what’s an illusion and what’s real, and that it’s foolish to try to think that I can control anything from here on out.

“I’m really sorry, I don’t normally run into people like that, it’s just, this neighborhood has me a bit jumpy, and then I heard a noise that definitely wasn’t a good noise-” She realized she was rumbling and softened her lips together, stopping more words from tumbling out uncontrollably. Flinching slightly as the stranger helped her up, she forced herself to maintain a polite smile, chestnut eyes studying the man as if to make sure he wasn’t going to hurt her. Of course, she was the absolute worst judge of that, she could never tell if people had good or bad intentions until her skin was aching from the abuse.
Tumblr media
“Oh no, they’re fine, I’m not hurt.” She pulled her pale hands back, rubbing them together against the cold, a bit of warmth forming between her palms. “This is embarrassing, I swear I usually look where I’m going,” Sofia mumbled.
“Not to worry. Happens to the best of us,” he reassured her with a smile. The best, he meant himself. “No need to be embarrassed.” Noise. Oh boy, he wasn’t one to believe in ghosts but if some supernatural creature popped around the corner to jump scare him he was going to scream like a girl again.  “Uh... from - there?” he pointed to where she was running from. He leaned his head in and attempted to peer down the street which he could not see from this angle. Could have been someone being murdered, wouldn’t surprise him in this city.
Tumblr media
“Let’s have a look shall we,” he declared, seeming way too happy about going down the street where it could have been anything. Maybe it was a pigeon. A loud, disturbing pigeon.

« THE ACE »                                ❝ THIS ACE, JUST ACED THE ACE ❞
LAST NAME, FIRST NAME: Volkov, Aleksandr (Alex) AGE: 34 HOUSE OF CHOICE/INDIVIDUAL ACTIVITY/N/A: Unaffiliated OCCUPATION AND/OR LEVEL: Salesperson FACE CLAIM: Ryan Reynolds NATIONALITY: Russian ETHNICITY: Slavic, Caucasian
CONNECTIONS:
THE MATRIARCH - This lady was under the impression he was going to come quietly. Well he had different plans. He could smell her intent from a mile away, and he had enough trouble on his plate without getting involved in Famine. Whatever that meant. He was hardly starving, he was rolling in the money - and she was just jealous.  The Ace has been avoiding her ever since their first encounter, but he always feels like he is being watched.
THE HELLHOUND - The bounty hunter. Like a fly on a wall, or an itch to his neck - he felt like someone was targeting him ever since he moved to Bucharest, Romania. He had moved here to escape that feeling - but even here he had started to experience the feeling that someone was watching his every move. What made him break a sweat was the fact they still hadn’t attempted to end his life despite, no doubt, a very high price on his head. They were waiting on the opportune moment.
____(Member of Death)- An assassin that failed to assassinate either at the first, second, or third attempt - and they had now entered Romania to track him down, and kill him for good.  Aleks of course, was not going to let that happen. It seemed he had the Gods at his side, even the god of Death himself by the amount of times he has escaped it. Whoever it was, they had competition. Lots of it.
____ (The Ex Boyfriend) - The Ace wasn’t known to be filled with love. After all his label wasn’t The King of Hearts (Or rather Queen because that seems so much more badass) now was it? He was the black spades. Spade, because he dug up graves for anyone that found out his secrets. Sure, he found the guy attractive and he was his sweet cheeks for a bit - but he easily left him there with nothing but a note saying “Goodbye, Sweet Cheeks. Don’t try to find me - I’ll be long gone. P.S I’m taking my other boyfriend Benji with me. God just think of the insurance I’ll have to pay taking this guy. (The Dog).”
OPEN TO CONNECTIONS YOU MAY WANT/THINK OF.

Selling the Answer || Alex & Ruby
@rubyrednightingale
“Hey there! My name is Alex, I live in the neighbourhood and I was wondering if you were interested in-” Aleks held up a flyer advertising a new catalog which included everything from houseware to hardware with a bright expression on his face. And of course he was trying to sell the ‘new’ steam vacuum cleaner. God, he needed a new job. He just needed the work experience to achieve a new career in car sales.
However, the door was immediately slammed shut in his face. Aleks gave a fake closed smile in annoyance before he chimed with a passive aggressive tone, “OooKAY. Fuck you too.” Alex nodded once to the closed door and turned on his heels toward the next household along. “Right Alex - one more rude client and you are dramatically going to throw your red tie down the nearest drain,” he muttered to himself.
He chapped on the door twice, waiting patiently for the other to answer. In fact he kind of hoped no one did answer so he could quit this dead end sales job straight away. Unfortunately, he heard foot steps and the door opening, revealing a young woman standing at the door way.
“Hey, how are you doing this afternoon? Well firstly my name is Aleksandr, but you can call me Alex if you’d like. I live in the neighbourhood, and I was wondering what vacuum cleaner you currently use, if any?” He signed, “Look uh- I’m just like you people, I promise I’m not some manipulative ass-hole.” Well that was a lie now that he thought on it. “I’m just told to sell this bullshit so I can make some sort of living like anyone else,” by the end of the speech he was already so fucking sick of door-to-door sales work.

“Boy! You’re on.” It was his day off, and instead of doing anything productive he ended walking about aimlessly - seeing if there was anyone he could con. However, a free tattoo in exchange for a story, and he had lots of them, would work too. Aleks loved telling stories, especially the one’s involving how lucky he was at avoiding death. Wait, on second thought - probably wasn’t a good idea to mention that. But hey, there was plenty people with a bounty on their head. No harm done. So long as he never mentioned who he was or what he had done to a stranger - his cover would not be blown.
“Wait- what would I get?” Aleks furrowed his brows, thinking deeply on the design he wanted. This was entire impulsive but it was free, even if he regretted the tattoo afterwards. Something he wouldn’t regret... His dog. “Can you tattoo a name on my forearm? - it’s not a boyfriend’s name” he laughed “God no - not that stupid. Well. I mean he is - kind of... my boyfriend. I sleep with him. I mean-” Aleks face palmed. “I’m not into bestiality.”
“Forget that. Listen up. You’re going to love this story. "
Tumblr media
Victor sat on the stoop of The Armoury, half-smoked Pall Mall dangling from the indent of his lips. In front of him, a cardboard scrap donning scrawly handwriting. Free tattoo in exchange for a good story.
He’d never been so incredibly bored. His clients had been asking for the most mind-numbing designs - hearts, birds and their favourite song lyrics in cursive script. His other clients were buying their share and repaying debts on time. Things had been monotonous and bland for weeks. Victor was growing restless, what with no art or senseless violence to throw his energy into. He needed something, a muse, or whatever.
“Hey.” Victor nodded at a passerby, not looking up from his lap. “See the sign?” He paused for a few seconds, pondering how much he’d later regret this commitment. After all, he’d never really been one for small talk or… people, in general. “Promise it won’t look like shit.”

“who just carries a stack of cards with them wherever they go?” was the question of the moment, a tumble of words as she plopped herself on the bar stool next to the man. she’d been half watching him, curious as to why his hand hadn’t left his pocket for the past twenty minutes or so but deemed it no threat when his hand pulled out a stack of cards. no threat for the time being, at least. everyone has hiding places and no one could be too careful around strangers. at least, she should think that but careful wasn’t a word to describe the girl ( reckless was more of a fit than anything ). part of her wondered if they were trick cards or weaponized in some way- if so she wanted them for herself.
“if you think you can play with me, i’d love to play a game.” something dark twinkled in her eyes as she leaned in toward him, eyebrows raised in a bit of a playful wiggle as she spoke. “come on, i’m bored and you’re the most interesting thing to happen to me tonight. at least so far.” another giggle, she leans back out of his personal space and gives him a look ( well, are we going to play? ).
“You never know when you might find yourself in a situation where you just have to play a game of poker." Alex gave a fake smile with his lips closed together. “You ever had those moments?” he asked.  No, probably not.
The look she gave was somewhat unsettling. Alex loosened his collar and cleared his throat. “You’re on, Lady!” This girl had the look that could kill in an instant - but he was not going to back down on the offer. He headed over to an empty table and placed the pack face down before he started to fake shuffle. Little did the other know that only one of the aces were in the pack. Alex already had a trick up his sleeve - literally. The cards were there, and he knew how to play magician. He dealt two cards to start with for both of them. “How much you betting?” he asked while he handed out the cards. Once he was done and saw his cards he pulled out five leu note to start. and placed it in the center with the pile of cards beside it. He had a queen of hearts and a jack of clubs. Not the best of deals but definitely not the worst and he had many ways around it.

The tension in this bar was killing him. How do these people have a good time sitting by the bar feeling sorry for themselves? Half of them weren’t even talking to anyone - and that was just plain depressing. Well, if no one else was going to save the night Aleks would certainly take up on the offer.  Aleks has been waiting for the prime moment to whip out his cards from his pocket, which he had been caressing for the past twenty minutes within his jacket. Avoiding the casinos, he spent his time at the bar which only made him feel like he was spiralling into a wave of misery and self pity like these sorry lot were - nope - couldn’t do it. Bad habits die hard.
Proposing to have a game of poker wouldn’t exactly scream The Ace that fled Russia. This was harmless - at least that is what he keeps telling himself. If he was going to die, he was going to live first. Besides, like hell he was going to let assassins stop him from being him. This was how he gained his title, his fame, his money, and apparently... hatred. Oh come on, why do people loathe him so much anyway? Jealousy made people do some craaaazy things it seemed. In fact - he even blurted out in the middle of the bar “Fuck it!” Which is the time he truly meant fuck it to those that are after him. He was The Ace - not a coward (does running for one’s life count as being smart or cowardly?) and although the name will not be used around publicly for just anyone to here, because he wasn’t stupid, he will still be him despite the fake identity. Dramatically he pulled out his deck and declared a game of poker for all the sorry lots sitting on their asses wishing they could do something with their lives instead of just doing it. “We got any volunteers? Who’s feelin’ lucky?”

Finally - his work day was over. By now, it was already evening and the sun had set. Sure he was persuasive, all he needed to do was give big doe eyes and a big smile and look like he was about to burst into tears if they said no but was it exhausting. Not to mention the amount of rude clients he received. Sales jobs are the worst.  He missed his days of the ace where all he had to do was sit in a casino and cheat his way into winning big. An easy way to gain give times the money in a night - but he had to keep a low profile. At least for now. He only just recently moved here, five months, and if he suddenly made himself known to the world, knowing that The Ace from Russia had just fled the country - well he was a dead man. If the bounty hunters were desperate enough, they’d be hunting him down - right now - as he walked. Hurrying up the street he never expected someone to suddenly appear in front of him from the left. Before he could swerve the girl had knocked right into him - Aleks gave a high pitched squeal. “Lady!” Lucky he hadn’t had a coffee in his hand because that would have been the classic’ bump into the man with the business suit and ruin it’ type shenanigan.
Once he had managed to stop himself sliding and falling on his ass just to add to his evening, he looked down at the girl that hand fallen on the snow. “Jeez.” Alex grimaced, feeling somewhat bad for the lady. Immediately he bent over and reached his hands out to her biceps to help her onto her feet. “Don’t apologise, lady. My suit is still in pristine condition. Lucky you had the snow as padding. Let’s see your hands, are they cut at all?” Alex started his crash course in Romanian before, and as soon as he entered the country he had started to learn seriously. However, five months did not quite give him the language skills required for fluency by any means - and there was strong accident in his voice that he tried to cover up as best as he could.

Sofia was in a part of Bucharest she wasn’t familiar with, a poor neighborhood that, with its run-down buildings, was the kind of place that made her jumpy after sunset. Too many dark corners, dimly lit alleys that led nowhere, dark figures glaring at her in passing by, making her regret coming here at this time all by herself. Cold fingers swiped across the screen of her phone, something to cling to, a small map of the area in front of her. She’d taken a wrong turn, ended up at a dead end - again. How ironic. A scream tore through the night, made her wheel around and backtrack quickly, unsure where it had come from or what it meant. Maybe it was … no, it was nothing. It was probably nothing. Breathing elevated, the girl rounded the corner, collided with someone, a gasp slipping out as she lost balance, landing on the sidewalk that was covered in a thin layer of powdery snow.
“Sorry- I’m so sorry!”
