I talk about crafts, cannabis, and chronic pain I’m friendly, but my pain can make it difficult to communicate so please be patient

“Normal” test results are not the relief people think they are. When you wake up in pain and continue to be in pain for hours every day and your tests come back normal you don’t stop being in pain.

My friend was not on board, thank the universe. But she lost friends and coaches in the crash. Fucking devastating

Not really in the mood to talk about the three C’s today. Waiting to find out if my friend was on the plane that went down at Reagan. Team USA and Russian figure skaters were aboard. I don’t think she was, but I can’t be sure until I hear from her. I haven’t heard back from any of her family members, probably because they’re very busy people, but every news article I see about there being no survivors makes my stomach drop.

My pain has been too bad to crochet, but I got some work done on writing the pattern. It looks bonkers right now because my brain comprehends coordinates better than a traditional pattern but I plan to translate it into proper rows as I go.

I completely frogged The Big One *gasp* It’s fine though. I changed my mind on a few things and wanted to reset before getting too far in. Unfortunately that’s all I had in me for today before my pain got too bad. I tried to write my pattern but every time I read a line back, it would be wildly inaccurate. Cannabis has made the pain flare more bearable, but I am still stuck in bed for this evening.

I’ve been absolutely obsessed with this project. It’s the first thing I think of in the morning and the last thing I think about before I fall asleep. The planning itself is addicting. I decided to change up my color palette a bit. I’m going for brown instead of black, with a dark greens for the foliage, and red for details. Might throw some yellow in there too.
Should I continue to include the image I’m recreating when talking about The Big One? It adds context but I also don’t want to clog the tags with the same image over and over again.

My today my pain has been bad and my toddler has been ornery so I only got one row done on The Big One. Tomorrow I get to add another color on the fourth row, a single black stitch. Yippee! It should actually get interesting after that.

I don’t have a tape measure big enough to demonstrate the size of The Big One, but I can tell you it’s coming in at a solid 12-13 feet long. I’ve completed the foundation chain and two rows. One more 682 stitch row of white and I can start bringing in the black. I’ll include the image I’m recreating below.

I’m starting a tapestry. 682 chains to start, planning on 482 rows. That’s approximately 300,000 single crochet stitches. My arms may fall off.

Made a big roll of plarn to turn into plastic sleeping mats and tote bags! These items will be waterproof, insulating, and don’t carry the same risk of bedbugs or mold as fabric items.

My relatives sent me several boxes of scrap and spare yarn for my newest endeavors. I got some good work done yesterday 😁

I made a start crocheting a beanie using some beautiful forest green baby alpaca. It’s a bit scratchy but very warm.
I think I’ll also make some plastic totes or sleeping mats as well. I wish I hadn’t gotten rid of my stash of plarn. We went grocery shopping today and I collected some bags to convert.
