What headcanons do you have in regards to Levi and physical affection, like cuddles, hugs, headpats, massages, etc. ?

i feel like it would take him a while to warm up to physical affection. but if you gave him a little head pat or booped his nose or something, he’d let it happen. probably wouldn’t crack a smile, but the fact that he wouldn’t pull away would say it all.

i don’t know why, but i always picture him as really enjoying resting his head on your chest when you’re in bed. like he just kinda does it, like a cat hahaha. not the most cuddly ever, but just enough.

also i feel like he’d give amazing massages because he’s so precise and doesn’t half-ass anything. but he’d be so pragmatic about it, like “i noticed you rubbing your neck earlier. it’s sore. come here.” and then he’d give the best massage ever like it was nothing.

lowkey could also see him getting into a bubble bath. but if YOU were in it first and you asked him to join. hahahaha

last thing i’m going to say about that post because i feel bad blowing up people’s feeds with it or unwillingly being some source of chaos and drama:

this because it opened up a HUGE can of worms i wasn’t anticipating. i haven’t been that active lately so i didn’t even know this was a ‘hot topic.’ i also didn’t know it’s a topic that’s been discussed to death. i haven’t been in the fandom for years, so AOT is still pretty new and exciting to me—i don’t have opinions that formed years ago like everyone else.

i also feel the need to clarify that the purpose of my post was pure meta and character analysis—i’ve done a couple other posts like that on various topics, this just happened to be one of them! that is really all there was to it from me. i didn’t know people would be “sick of hearing about it” because i was trying to be analytical, not petty.

and like all of my other metas, it’s just me sharing the things i’ve picked up on and how i interpreted the source material. it’s something i enjoy doing because the characters and their stories are so complex. it wasn’t meant to be interpreted as me defending or advocating for a specific “x reader” pov and looking down on others. i support everyone writing and reading what they want, i always have. i’ve seen plenty of other people argue the complete opposite of me and i’ve never said a combative word to them because i know everyone is different!

i haven’t even written fics in a while because i mostly was doing it because it seemed to make other people happy, which was cool. analysis has always been what i really love doing, so it’s just a little disheartening that people seem to take it extremely personally when it was always framed as my opinion on just another topic. i probably won’t be sharing anything like that again anytime soon because i want this to be a positive space and not one of hostility and arguing. we are all supposedly fans of the same thing, but it doesn’t really feel like it most of the time, especially when sharing one opinion makes people send hate.

thank you! i appreciate this. i was genuinely worried to post that because i knew this would happen—but also didn’t want to let that stop me from sharing my thoughts on my own blog. i thought i made it super clear that i wasn’t coming for anyone or trying to claim anything as canonical. i feel like a broken record, but i’d never try to stop people from writing and reading whatever types of fics/headcanons that they enjoy. and i’d never try and force someone to agree with me. but people seemed to skim over those disclaimers, i guess.

reading people’s metas is one of my favorite things about being on here, and i’ve posted a couple other ones before on different topics, but those weren’t about levi’s view on intimacy so of course no one took offense. oh well!

While we’re on the subject, I like to think a part of Levi was relieved when he lost his Ackerman abilities because he no longer had to bear the burden of being humanity’s strongest. Obviously it would be a difficult transition, but in the end, I like to think he starts to see himself as more than a weapon! (Just my interpretation though)

i’ve always thought this too! i think it would be a huge weight off of his shoulders—no longer being needed in that way, no longer being a weapon. i like to think that he felt like he could finally just breathe and not have to think about what was lurking around the corner or what terrible thing was going to happen next.

also it was probably good to know in the back of his head that in case something ever happened, no one would ever ask him to fight again.

in my mind, he opens up a little tea shop and lives out a quiet, peaceful life that he enjoys and deserves :)

I have this crazy AU idea wherein Ackermans can awaken titan powers by drinking titan serum. The effect is (relatively) mild and temporary, but can also include healing and regeneration for some time. I got this weird idea about Hange asking Levi to do experiments on him by having him to sample different spinal fluids, but I don't know if Levi would turn it down because the idea of being "experimented on" even by someone he trusts is ick, or maybe he himself is curious about the results and might participate just to find out. I kinda ship LeviHan and do wonder about a relationship wherein Hange wants to investigate the Ackerman bloodline especially after finding out it comes from titan powers. Hange wondering if Levi is a weird type of titan is funny but also kinda might push Levi's boundaries.

i 100% think hange would LOVE if that was possible. and would definitely be so curious about the ackermans and want to find out everything about them. truly makes me so, so sad that hange never got to explore the world beyond paradis and marley.

i think levi would be like “ugh” but maybe begrudgingly allow a simple experiment—and would probably be super specific and controlling about it. i mean, he was down with eren being experimented on, so maaaaybe he’d have that same energy toward himself? i think it’d take some convincing but hange could probably pester him into it hahahaha

i’m not sure how me responding to people who come to me, first, with defensive and harsh energy is me being combative. also never said i am a victim—don’t think that at all. i just think that this fandom can be extremely emotionally volatile when someone expresses a take that isn’t the same as theirs. but if someone accuses me of shaming, policing, or shoving an opinion down their throat when i objectively didn’t, i’m not going to just say “sorry you’re right.” you’ll probably disagree, but i don’t think that it’s ‘nasty’ of me to be baffled by the things people have said—particularly how they claim to be anti-shame while then shaming entire other groups of people that i’m not even in. but i will stand up for those groups because i actually believe in not shaming people. i don’t just say that when someone’s character analysis makes me upset. if anyone has been “needlessly combative” it’s the people who have taken extreme, unchecked offense to me posting a character analysis prefaced with the fact that it is my opinion and not something anyone else needs to agree with. i don’t know how many times i can express that i don’t care what other people write about in their fics or headcanons.

I wonder if there is a correlation with fans who hate the idea of an "emasculated" Levi and those that said the ending of AoT sucked because Eren was "emasculated" at the end when he revealed he didn't know what he was doing and his fascy chad persona was a lie.

i would say there is highly likely an overlap in that venn diagram!

it’s the people who think that levi’s character lost all appeal/worth/purpose the second he became injured and disabled. they only liked him because they saw him as powerful, angry, violent, strong, untouchable. because that, to them, is masculine. it’s really disheartening when people think that his physical capabilities were what made him an incredible, interesting character. and it’s really unsettling when people don’t like the thought of levi as someone who needs to use a wheelchair and see that as “weak”. it’s such a disservice to his entire storyline and complexities. he’s not as simple of a character as a lot of people think.

it really is similar to people who were disappointed when eren revealed he’s just a “garden variety idiot” like the 19 year old he is and that he didn’t have control over his own fate the way he wanted to. because, again that’s not strong and masculine, that’s “weak.” again, does a total disservice to his whole arc and who he was. he’s an incredibly complex character.

those people just have very, very narrow views of masculinity and what it means to be strong and worthy. they see any physical or mental weakness as emasculating even though it genuinely is not. and they want characters to fit into neat little boxes and tropes because otherwise they can’t understand them in their little pea brains

Heres a thought i’ve had myself.

Levi had that time where he nearly starved to death as a kid, and nutrition likely would have been piss poor down in the underground, especially after Kenny went to get milk for about 20 years or so. Often cultures around the world tend to favor chonk after years of starvation. Do you think Levi, if given the space to chill a little after the rumbling, or semilarly, might find himself appreciating extra storage deposits? A little extra on the sides, someone extra soft?

dunno, just think tall and kinds chubby with a maternal vibe would get him all sorts of fucked up if he’s in the right (or wrong) state of mind.

i've never really thought about his "type" from a physical standpoint before! i've only ever thought of it from like a personality/mind stance. so this is fun to think about. he could for sure handle someone who's got some extra cushion for the pushiiiin
