So that is all to say, I do think with some certainty, that I am now, officially, the first human being who has come this close to seeing the boogie man in real life, and survived. He unfolded himself through that door frame like a poorly made origami crane from hell.

I have a theory that the box RedCanary stole from the institute back in episode 1 contained Jonah Magnus' eyes. There were suspicious blood stains on the floor, and the box was covered in weird occult (probably alchemical) symbols. The last thing we hear about the removed image is "are those eyes?"

Well, something just got released from the basement of the institute. I wonder if its Jonah coming for his eyes.

With the inclusion of a tape recorder at The Magnus Institute, I need to amend my previous theory about Celia.

Though it would be incredibly cool for her to be from the og universe, it is now more likely that she worked for The Magnus Institute in this world, but is catching on to multiversal travel bits.

Though that still doesn't explain how she recognizes John's voice ...

So my theory is now that Celia somehow took John's spot. That Johnathan Simms got eaten by the book at age 8 and replaced with Celia from another universe, or somesuch like that. Im sure it's absolute crack, but she knows more than she should, has a special interest in the Mulriverse, and is friends with Georgie. She recognizes John's voice, and has knowledge of both TMA's tape recorders and smirkes 14.

Also, I hope Colin is ok.

Actually, I think this was an appearance of Starkwall, the private military contractors that were mentioned in conjunction with the Magnus Protocol back in like episode 4 or 5.

Though in another universe, they would have simply become avatars of the Slaughter

the way the mysterious men in black dealt with the "volunteers" in today's magprotocol episode reminded me of how avatars would sometimes sabotage each other's rituals, as well as how hunt avatars often operated, and it makes me wonder whether, in the universe of protocol, those who would have likely become servants of the dread powers in tma are more likely to be drawn to those kinds of professions and positions of authority where they can exert a similar kind of effect on others through fear and violence. and whether they might feel inexplicably challenged by these new monsters and compelled to seek them out and put them down.

I mean ... I'd hardly call that a crack theory. There's plenty of evidence for it in the series.

In the first episode, he speaks directly to the computer, saying he knows that "you're" listening. Whether that's the computers, something else in the computers/cameras ALA the eye, or us is unclear.

And he has made a clear effort to keep all electronics out of his work area, even going so far as to smash Sam's phone.

And with Johnny's writing, we know that it can get very meta.

hold on what if the reason why colin banned external electronics and refuses to go near cameras could be because he knows he'll be watched? like how in tma the audience can be interpreted as a metaphorical (or literal) part of the eye, the audience of tmagp watches the o.i.a.r team through technology (phone recordings, the computers, cctv footage)

maybe thats why colin has much less screen time than the others?

Yes, absolutely. That is the rift between worlds that the fears (and John, Martin, and possibly Jonah) get pulled through at the end of the series. But that means that it almost certainly exists in other universes.

And Celia likely did so. The fact that she recognizes John's voice, references tape recorders, and references smirkes 14, when none of that has been referenced or known in the Tmagp universe basically confirms that shes from the original series, or is at least more familiar with it.

Honestly, I wonder if she isn't a universe hopping fan.

I am relistening to TMA again and hit EP 114: Cracked Foundation and screaming crying throwing up because they told us what was going to happen in the climax years before it happened and also answers our questions about Celia.

The episode is about a house cleaner who goes to Hilltop and in the basement finds a crack. Spider legs pull her in, and she wakes up in a different timeline. People are not sure how she knew them, and familiar landmarks have disappeared or changed.

This gives so much insight on Celia - DOES THIS MEAN that people can hop through the Hilltop crack? Can she travel to and from the timelines? Can other people?

Please tell me your thoughts on this I can't stop thinking about it

Ah, I see where the confusion is: I've got a two-book contract, the first of which is for a book about the London underground, the second of which is about ????? (haven't fully decided yet). Not saying it's an impossibility that it is also about the underground (god knows I've experienced enough horror down there for two!) but I guess we'll have to wait and see.
