“I’d come back to haunt you.” - Lili
Adalicia couldn’t help but to laugh, trying not to choke on the smoothie she just drank. “Promise?” Her brows rose as she continued to joke with her friend. Though it always seemed like a friend wasn’t a good way of describing her. She’s like a sister doesn’t do anything either. No, Lili is Ada’s soulmate, only in the sense of truly believing that they’d grow old together. Never stop being there for one another. Perhaps soulmates weren’t just about being in love with someone but someone that will never leave your side.
“If your grand plan of escape works - I’ll miss you. If there was one thing about this stupid island…at least it brought us closer together.” She offered Lili a slight smile, only a small part of her that her plan never worked and they were trapped on the island. No more royal duties to worry about anymore and she got to stay close she wasn’t able to be when they were here.

Fabien:
Fabien chuckled at that. “I tried to put up a good fight” he admitted. “But I could see I was outnumbered.” He’d been taken by several pirates, and once he’d realized there was no escape, he’d gone along with their orders. He figured he’d live longer that way. “A few days ago. The one upside of all of this is I’m able to see you again.” He’d missed his cousins and been strangely pleased when he’d run into them. Not because he was happy they were here, but because he’d spent so long thinking they were dead. “Who else is here?” he asked. He’d already run into several of his friends and wondered if she’d done the same.
No matter what happened, she was just glad Fabien was okay - at least on the surface. “Well, apparently pirates are a lot smarter than they look if they took you in numbers.” There was always that fear of seeing someone she knew, it either being a family member or a friend, being on the island but taken to the infirmary because of a fight they put up to not be kidnapped. However, her dear cousin is right - the upside to being here was seeing family and friends you’d normally only see once in a Blue Moon. “I have missed you Fabien and the others but I also can’t lie and say that I wish you weren’t here either.” Just for the simple fact of knowing he wasn’t kidnapped. “Casimir and Liam are here.” She started. “I’m not sure if you remember them but, childhood friends of mine, Wren Warwick and Vasilia Orlov are both here as well. There are more royals here that you probably know that I don’t though.” Then again, she hasn’t been the most social person in the world.

Lorne:
Lorne chuckled. “Depends on the thing you’re trying” he said dryly. He could think of many things that would be bad to try. “Well, thanks for sharing something you like so much with me.” She seemed like a sweet girl and he hoped she’d come through this situation relatively unharmed. “That’s a better reason than the one I have. I learned to cook in university to impress my dates.” He smiled at the memory. “Oh yeah? That almost sounds like a challenge. Maybe you’d be interested in sharing one of your grandmama’s recipes.” Lorne loved cooking almost as much as he did eating. He took another sip of his drink, enjoying it even more than the first.
“True, suppose if you were to try to eat a cockroach it’ll be really bad, but at least you’d be getting protein.” Though she stands true to what she said. Try things you either like or don’t, it’ll be bad or good but whatever the outcome - at least you still tried it. Laughing at him admitting why he learned to cook, “I am pretty sure they’d be impressed just by you. Though do have to admit - it is pretty impressive when a guy knows how to cook and actually likes to do it.” She commented, shrugging before saying, “At least you know how to cook, or so you say you can.” She teased. “It wasn’t at first, but it can be a challenge. Name anything and I’m sure I can make it the best.” Ada is rather confident in her cooking....baking, confident enough to really put it to the test. “I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you.” It wasn’t a secret family recipe, it was just her and her grandma having fun and bounding - though where was the competition in just letting people know her recipes.

Wren:
“Tell me about it” Wren said. “I’ve already lost track of how many days I’ve been here.” One seemed to blur into the next. She knew her parents had to been worried about her, the same way they were when Wendy disappeared. Probably worse, because now they were down both daughters. Shaking her head, she said “I was too scared to kick up any trouble on the way over here.” Once she’d realized she wasn’t going to escape, she’d done everything the pirates had ordered her to. Which made her feel like a coward. “Maybe I should have fought harder.”
This was something Ada was sure just about everyone could relate to - losing track of time because every day seems like it’s just one long...long day. Though by now, she just gave up on trying to figure out how long she’s been here herself. “Trust me it’s a common thing around here. I think everyone just stopped guessing what day it is and how long we’ve been here.” She offered her friend a smile. “There was absolutely nothing you could have done. They would have gotten you on the island one way or another, so, it is smarter to save your strength rather than waste it in an attempt of getting away.” Though she understood where the other was coming from. Feeling weak and not fighting back...it made you really believe that you really could have had a chance of getting away.
Thinking it best to change the subject, Ada stepped to the side a bit. “I was going to the Sun Hall - you can tag along and I can make you something to drink? I am rather good...not to brag or anything...”

Mina:
Her job was fun, sure. It got her out of the villa for a while. And she got to see people which was also fun. But well…she had some concerns. She was looking at her hands, turning them over and looking critically at her nails. “Are my fingers stained red?” She flipped them over once more. “So many people want strawberries in their smoothies and cutting them all has turned my fingers red. I think.”
"They’re stained but they aren’t that bad,” Ada said once she looked over at Mina’s hands. “Nothing some hot water, soap and a lot of scrubbing couldn’t cure.” The Dutch princess knew where the other was coming from - she was sure that she has made enough drinks with strawberries to feed an entire village or 5. Not that she was complaining really - she had an easy job. However, she could use a break from strawberry everything. “Why didn’t you ask me to help cut them?” Really Ada had half the mind to just pre-cut them just knowing they’ll be more drinks to make with the popular berries.

Matt:
Matt laid there, feeling lazy and pretty content with it all but their conversation caused him to eye Ada for a bit. There was something very specific about this entire thing and how she broke it down to him made him wonder what kind of shit she’s seen or had happen. He had his fair share of crap but he also lived a dangerous life, doing and saying things that end up with him bloodied or cut or black and blue. Not that he cared. At least the pain made him feel alive.
“Uh, sure?” he said when she asked about food. It came out of nowhere and Matt’s stomach was pretty bottomless with the amount of shit he did on a daily basis. “Make whatever you’re feeling. I’ll eat it.” He said, wanting to give Ada whatever space she wanted to get her thoughts together. “You can have another drink if you want.” He called out to her. Hell, maybe that’ll help take the edge off. Though as he laid there he thought about what she said. Was he being naive with keeping people from getting close to him? He considered it being more of a guarded thing because once people know what can actually hurt you then they seek out to do just that.
Being born the third Ferdinand, her importance to the throne wasn’t that...big - at least not as important as Liam and Casimir is to the Netherlands’ throne - or at least was. Thus, Ada and her younger sister were often times pushed into the corner. They still had their own studies to do and had to attend all royal gatherings - however it was usually her brothers the main talk of her country. To which, made her observant towards people and their behaviors. She’s been reading people since she could remember and even though she couldn’t read some people, like Matt, she was still good at recognizing the behaviors and habits of distant people.
That and she’s seen it once or twice - even been through it herself. So, it’s easy to recognize the distant type of people. Distant because of something.
This didn’t mean she was going to pretend as if she knows her watcher...she doesn’t, not even in the slightest. Sure, she’s picked up a few things about him but when you live in an enclosed space with someone...you are bound to pick some things up, at least to those who pay attention.
Pulling out a few things, Ada busied herself with making something she’s been craving, Lahmacun Turkish Pizza. Some things were already prepped for the pizza, she just needed to add a few more things and put it in the oven. So, once the bazil and peppers were on the thin dough and meat - she slid it in the oven for 30 minutes. While she waits - she poured herself and Matt another drink. “I’m not sure if you’ll like it but, I’m making a Middle Eastern’s version of pizza.” She said handing him the drink. “It should be ready in a few minutes.”

Matt:
“True. True, true, true. And I guess if you want to ask things then I miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight be up front about it. Or make up some bullshit story and act like it’s the truth. You know, being vulnerable and shit isn’t exactly something I like to feel.” He said, thinking about the whole thing with the picture. Matt thought that being vulnerable caused people to look at him differently and he hated it. HATED it!
Matt was in the living room, already stretched out on the couch and ready to get the movie going when Frada came in with the popcorn bowl. “Sure did. Once your butt’s on the cushion I’m pressing start. And where did you learn to make popcorn like that? It’s like one of those things you’d find in a gourmet popcorn shop.” The most he ever did was add caramel or parmesan cheese.
His finger tapped on the button and the movie started. It’d been such a long time since he last saw this film but he had a feeling that he’ll throw out quotes because it really has some great one-liners.
Adalicia only shot him a disbelieving kind of look - she didn’t want to ask him a question if he wasn’t going to tell her the truth. Don’t get her wrong, not wanting to open up to someone - especially someone that you don’t know is something she understands. Hell, she hardly opened up to her closest friends...her own brothers at times. She couldn’t blame Matt for not wanting to talk about his life with her, but she also didn’t want it to be a lie when he does talk to her either.
It probably would have been better if she had gotten two bowls so they both could have their own but she was excited and wasn’t thinking. Nor was she about to get another one and run the risk of missing the movie. Thus, she placed the bowl on the stand that was between them. “I’m sure my grandma would be proud I made it right then. She was a genius when it came to sweets, and all foods.” More like just in general, she has learned so much from her grandma both in food/sweets and in life.
Though she turned her attention to the movie once it began. Realizing it was the first time she was watching it with someone other than Stephanie, which was weird but was also - nice. Deep down....way deep down, Ada does care about Matt so, doing something that might cheer him up and take his mind off of some negative memory of the past...made her more happy than weirded out.
“Wayne’s World made my girlfriend and I want to do that - sit on the hood of a car in front of an airport and watch....feel the airplane fly over us.” She spoke up when Garth starting talking about Bugs Bunny. The memory of them planning to do it, made her smile. “Both frightening and exhilarating.”

Alex:
ALEXANDRA IS NOT USED TO hugs, so all of it is weird to her. But if it makes Ada happy then she’d be more than okay to hugs her back. A small smile appeared on her face as they both walked toward the direction of her villa. ❛ Tell something new. ❜ Since it has been in a while that both of them haven’t seen each other, now is time to catch up. ❛ New crushes? ❜
Still, Ada had to get used to the idea that Alex really doesn’t like people touching her. Though it was just in the Dutch’s DNA to hug people. She’s a hugger. At the very least Alex didn’t push her away completely whenever she does hug her. “Crushes? ....” Yes! Major and here was the kicker - it was more than just one person she did have a crush on. However, one of them only reminded Ada that there is a secret she knew she has yet told the other. One where her first relationship was with a girl and that she is just as attracted to girls as she is to guys. “Actually - I do.” Her burrows pinned together as she glanced over at Alex. “They’re a pirate though...something I’m sure all royal families would disapprove of, including a few of my own.” However, for the sake of someone may or may not be able to hear, she’d keep the name...s to herself once they were inside the villa.
“What about you? I haven’t seen you in a while and considering this island is small. That’s saying a lot.” She lightly teased her. “So, who else was keeping your time if it wasn’t for your favorite person?”

Lili:
“I think it was the drinks I use to mix you that really had that effect, I mean it’s no secret that I make a pretty strong cocktail,” she giggled, wishing she could mix up a few drinks for them now and just relive those fun memories when they were younger. Or even be back home, drinking and reliving them there, that would be the dream. “But not to worry, I’ve perfected my hangover cure smoothie, so now it not only helps you recover, but it doesn’t taste as bad this time.” Her previous mixture did help but it tasted terrible. She rolled her eyes jokingly at her friend, “Oh please, I won’t be getting hurt beyond this while I’m here. And in all fairness, I didn’t technically get hurt here in the first place, I was hurt back in Russia, but happened to show up here just after.”
“I’m always right,” she teased and stuck out her tongue at Ada. This wasn’t exactly true, but Lili was very good at twisting things and making it seem that way. Surely when they returned home there would be a period where the two wouldn’t be in as much contact with each other, as their families asked questions and prepared a huge banquet to celebrate their return, but after that there was no doubt Vasilia would be taking more trips to see her friend, and maybe even work on a future for herself. “Trust me, you will see me so much, you’ll grow tired of me.”
“I made one for you and Nikki when the news first came in about you two missing. I don’t have it with me, obviously, but when we get back I’ll give it to you,” the blonde grinned.
It was well known that both the Dutch and Russian princesses were trouble makers when together and what a mess they did make time and time again, but through it all they still continued their silly ways. “When do you think my parents always left when we were together? My mama was convinced we were devils at work together, and you know how she was,” Lili explained and rolled her eyes annoyed when mentioning her own mother’s actions. Her mother was extremely religious, so much so that she’s lock both children up when punished and force them to read through the Bible time and time again. Though Lili never stayed in a punishment long due to dramatic illnesses or simply convincing her parents otherwise. Her older sister, Nikita, was the one who received the worst of punishments, being locked up for days with only her bible.
Lili’s cocktails were strong, but they were also really good. Then again, she knew she had it coming wanting to drink with a Russian. If any could hold hard liquor it was definitely Russians. “My tolerance level for liquor is a lot lower than yours. Which is the only reason why I say they are strong.” However, she’d be lying if she said she wouldn’t want one now, either. There had been times when she made herself a smoothie and wanted vodka to spike it. “Thank god - because there were a few times where I would have accepted the hangover rather than your rotten egg smoothie.” She said lightly mocking her friend but was also telling the truth about the taste. Actually, there were lots of ways of getting hurt on the island but she didn’t want to dwell on that. Thus she allowed her friend to have the final say about the matter. Lili is alive - that’s all that matters. Broken bones can heal.
Nudging the other after she stuck her tongue at Ada, the feeling of them being teens again washed over her. It was easy to get wrapped up in a moment, but then forcing yourself to come to terms with reality again... - deep down, Ada truly wanted to convince herself that this was just a vacation. An extended, weird, messed up vacation. “I’m pretty sure that’s impossible.” She scrunched her nose, returning to reality, as she faced Lili. “Nice try though - you are never getting rid of me.”
Ada wasn’t sure what her family was doing...or if they were even looking for her and her brothers. Maybe when Liam had gone missing they did but did they look for them when it was just herself and Casimir MIA? It was her siblings she was close to, her cousins - not her parents. “I - would actually love that.” Even though she already knew she’d be crushed, leaving her best friend, even if it wasn’t her fault, she would still feel horrid for leaving the Spare Princess of Russia.
At what the she said of what her mother had thought of them when they were together, she couldn’t help but laugh. Yes, they got into trouble a lot but it wasn’t always mischevious things they got themselves into. Well, outside of making their parent's life just that much more difficult. Really it was Vasilia that showed Ada her artistic side...allowed her to be her dummy to practice ‘special effects’ on. As much as they were mischevious, they were still...angels in the light of always being there for the other and supporting the other - no matter what it was they wanted to do. “Now, I know why she always touched her cross when I came in the room.”

🌕 - Who makes them laugh the most?
There are a lot of people who can make her laugh a lot, but probably be between her oldest brother, Liam and her best friend, Lili. They just know how to make her laugh even when she doesn’t want to.

🍻+ “ do you believe in true love ?”
“For myself - no. For everyone else…..yes.” Ada truly believed her love already passed and her time for love was over but how could she say no entirely when she looked to her brothers and saw how in love they were with their betrothals? It’s a simple question but apparently difficult for her to answer.

🌖 - Are they happy? If not, what would make them happy?
As happy as she can be. Though she wouldn’t say she wouldn’t want to spend some more time with Liam and Casimir. Making gingerbread houses with them, or some other stupid family holiday tradition.

Lorne:
Lorne had been intrigued when the princess had told him about her favorite drink. Enough that he’d taken her up on the offer to come back to her room and try it. “I suppose it won’t hurt to try it” said Lorne skeptically. He wasn’t sure he believed peppermint and mocha went together. Peppermint usually reminded him of toothpaste. Still, he took a small sip. And was pleasantly surprised by the taste. After taking another larger sip, he said “That’s actually pretty good.” He would have preferred marshmallows or whipped cream on top, but the peppermint wasn’t bad. “Where did you discover this?”
Ada has only seen Lorne in passing whenever she would go see Alex at his villa. Though working her shift at Salle De Soleil is when she offered to make him her Peppermint Mocha hot cocoa. She didn’t know how, but when he admitted it was good - her smile brightened. “See! Trying new things is a good thing." She said only to lightly mock him. However, she turned to her own cup and brought her knees up to her chest, just something she normally did when it was getting cold. “My grandmama and I would experiment with sweets, she knew how much I love mocha and peppermint and so she just decided to mix them.” She shrugged, the smile never fading. “Anything I make food, beverage, or sweets wise would be because I learned it from my grandmama.” Ada still did miss her grandma though talking about her was more of a happier subject than a sad one.
“If we really wanted to have a sweet tooth night, I can make the best sweets you’ll ever taste.”

Wren:
Wren was sitting on the couch in the royal common room. She was watching whatever was on the TV in the room, not really paying attention because she was lost in thought. But she was startled out of her daydream when she felt someone call her name. Glancing up, she spotted a familiar face. “Ada?” she said in surprise. “I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever” she said as she returned the other princess’s hug. “I’ve been so worried about you.” She’d been worried about all of the missing royals, but her family and friends especially.
Pulling away, the excited smile never disappeared. Somehow Ada believed with more and more royals going missing - there would have been more security being put on them, or go into hiding? Maybe some did and maybe the pirates were a lot smarter than what she, then what most royals gave them credit for. Either way she was happy to see her friend, even under these circumstances. “I know how you feel. Time has a way of going by really fast and slow all at the same time.” Wren was like Lili, one of her best friends from back home. Someone that knows a lot about her. “Well, now it should be me worrying about you. Did you get hurt?”
