Do you think Gilear and Fig thought she just had some sleep disorder when she didn't trance normally? When her horns come in, it clicks for Gilear what that disorder really was (sleep) but it takes Fig a while before it clicks.

it's just really funny to me to imagine Fabian actually being a great big brother honorable nemesis.
like, putting a nemesis ward on the nursery with aelwyn's help since "it won't do if they die before their eighteenth birthday, will it?" (aelwyn, deeply sarcastic: "well of course, that is exactly why I put the ward on adaine's room." fabian, too deep in denial for sarcasm: "see? you get it")
gifting them a battle sheet baby blanket since they should start preparing for their battle early on (and yes it's extra fluffy, it's for a baby stop laughing everybody)
generally trying to teach them everything he knows "so their battle to the death will be a fair one"
giving their adventuring party the same lecture on tactics that the bad kids got from his papa
hunting down chungledown bim and any other nemesis so his sibling is the only one who could get a piece of his fund (he just wants it to stay in the family, shut up)
just. fabian being an amazing big brother but also if you call him that to his face he will cut you

i see kipperlilly (and the rat grinders in general) being super polarizing figures in the fandom and truly guys i know it's not always easy but could we collectively chill for a second ? this is a comedy show about teenagers and there's truly no reason to yell at each other on a website about how evil/dumb you have to be to hate or love or write about fictional characters (especially ones that are built with a meta commentary in mind).... most of us come here for a nice time so let's keep it that way !! not trying to police anyone but just begging people to hold space for others' nuances

Did the other Rat Grinders tell Buddy Dawn that he was gonna have this rage option? Did they explain "Hey, if you eat this and say you worship an unnamed God then it doesn't really count and Helio won't know?". Or was it a complete shock?

You guys know these fictional characters are fictional, right? Yes, they're children, but they're also fictional. It's ok to be anti the antagonists, even if in a different story they wouldn't be antagonists.

Penelope and Dayne were kids who were manipulated by a trusted adult and got sent to hell for eternity. Penelope was even convinced to sacrifice her best friend. Where's the discourse on that?

guys ive become so so attached to a sympathetic but incompetent jace stardiamond who failed to save those kids in the mountains but was too cowardly to choose death. and is now forced to lead them all to their doom
jace becoming a fucked up guardian for the rat grinders as the only adult who knows what happened to them and who is helping them with the larger plan with ankarna. while navigating his own guilt and the kids’ bitterness over how he failed them. he wasn’t strong enough to protect them but maybe now he can stick it out with them. softlaunching a new fhsy doomed tragic dynamic for me to go crazy over: student and teacher.
so badly want a jace stardiamond that puts the pathetic in sympathetic ❤️ i am beaming visions into past brennan’s brain i simply think this could be sooo much more interesting than your classic “evil and manipulative from the start” type villain

There's another universe where Kipperlilly figured out Penelope's plan and followed her around desperate to get trapped in a gem.

Other than the tragedy porn bit KL reminds me of me so much (anger issues, somewhat excluded from her own friend group, controlling or attempting to be). And I've always said I would have hated going to school with me

Sandra Lynn's taste in partner's actually makes perfect sense:
Bobby Dawn - she was an extremely young and impressionable adventurer who (presumably) received "acceptance" and "guidance" from an older accomplished adventurer in an environment when she was probably somewhat excluded. This was grooming. She was then kicked out of that group and blacklisted due to the influence of this very powerful individual.
Spiralling, probably slept around a bit as she tried to cope with her life completely changing from her original plans.
Gilear - Finds a kind, stable individual who helps her. Honestly, Gilear reminds me a lot of Tracker, someone who is there for another person who went through a lot of romance/sexuality related trauma and was kind of neglected to an extent because they were busy being the person leaned on.
Gorthalax - wants some excitement. While I truly believe she loved Gilear and the stability, this simple life wasn't the life she planned when she left high school. Gorthalax was fun and open to doing fun stuff.
Jawbone - Kind, stable individual who helps her. Better prepared at the helping side than Gilear. Gilear was a life vest that stopped her drowning. Jawbone gave her the tools to get back to safety.
Garthy - wants some excitement. She loves Jawbone and the stability but wants some new experiences. She is scared that those new experiences will lead to spiralling, though, which is why she asked Jawbone to be monogamous. But when she's drunk her self destructive behaviour comes out and she gets with someone who is fun and open to doing fun stuff.
It's a really sad story of someone trying to heal from past trauma and experiences that only made it harder.

Was looking at the word "stark". The two definitions I knew (complete and bare in appearance or outline) didn't really make sense for Baron's stark father.
But the word stark is Germanic in origin and, in Old English, the word (stearc) meant "unyielding, severe" which much more accurately describes the Nightmare King.
The word is also related to the German "stark" meaning strong.
There's also an "archaic/literary" definition: "stiff, ridged, incapable of movement". I found that interesting considering Cassandra's current state.

I love the idea that Bobby Dawn isn't actually involved in anything, the Bad Kids just kill him because he's a piece of shit.

kipperlilly: having a tragic family backstory is an unfair advantage against people with regular parents!
*cut to The Seven who all have the normalest parents and family ever and yet they all still became a prominent and popular and successful adventuring party*

"How could Sandra Lynn like someone with kids her own age?"
Do we have to explain grooming? Really?
She would have been mature for her age, and the way she fights shows that she's not like other girls her age and one time she heals him in a private moment and he confesses that she gets him more than his wife ever could.
