hey, so I need to say something y'all aren’t gonna like to hear. I know that the news coming out of Activision/Blizzard today is shocking to many, and it’s all certainly some appalling stuff. But as someone who worked in the industry please understand that my reaction to reading the entire findings of the investigation was, “yeah, of course. That happens everywhere. This is just how it is.”

like, some of y'all are about to be real mad at me, but I feel the need to point out that for many people who work in it, this is what the video game industry is like. this doesn’t even pass for uncommonly bad. every game studio that you think is different? it’s not. they’re all like this. your favorite game studio, the one that makes the best game you’ve ever played? the likelihood is, this is what the culture is there too.

please start giving a shit about the people - specifically the people of color, women, and queer folks - who make the games you love. chances are, they are working in an environment this toxic every day to make it happen. please stop defending… literally any game studio. they’re literally guilty until proven innocent at this point.

Genn is an old crusty monarch who can't even rule his own people but that is not even that bad. I have nothing against furries, but I genuinely cannot get used to worgens at all. They are to werewolves what all-fondant gender reveal cakes are to normal cakes

my beef with genn is that they set him up as this like martyr figure as a king and then hit you with the “oh yeah he let a good chunk of the population get eaten by zombies and then not only did he singlehandedly cause the worgen outbreak but he had the worgen cure for a very long time after he got bit and only used it for himself” like maybe sylvanas had a point about trying to shoot him with poison arrows
