i know beginner artists are annoyed at the word ‘practice’ being thrown at them by every other artist but i honestly think some of you need to understand the harsh truth. practice is really the only way to improve your art. there are no shortcuts, no tips, no nothing that can turn you into that artist you wanna be. i’m still learning but i knew that frustration well a few months ago. but i had to learn the hard way that i wasn’t going anywhere if i didn’t work. you 👏will👏not👏get👏better👏with👏out👏practice👏 !!!! you will not magically turn into a ‘good’ artist overnight. start working. look up references. study anatomy. practice poses and expressions. PRACTISE

i think a lot about the fact that shiro is so ready to fight his abusers and captors when he’s all suited up and yet… when he’s not in uniform it’s far more triggering and personal for him (with sendak in s1 and how he jumped headfirst into fighting him in the suit but when he was out of it and alone with him… he was super triggered)

it just makes me think that while he knows his trauma doesn’t define him, no matter how guilty it might make him feel… putting on that paladin armour and fighting for the good of the galaxy.. putting an end to the abuse and torture the galra inflict on others just like him. i just…

the suit gives shiro strength, confidence and motivation to carry on and confront the people who manipulated, tortured and mutilated him.

doesn’t matter if you hate shiro, because he loves and would fight for you

Everything coming out about the new Death Note shows how much they’re missing the point of Death Note.

Light is not a weird loner kid. He’s a top of his class, “that kid’s going places” type. People admire him. He stays beneath suspicion until L enters the fray by seeming so perfectly straitlaced and normal that no one thinks he could ever be a serial killer. The idea of Light having a locker sign saying “normal people scare me” is ridiculous, Light would probably mock the kind of person who’d put that in their locker. Light is handsome, confident, and while his ego is horrendous and his god complex ends up going to sociopath levels eventually, he has great charisma. He’s great at talking people into things and getting them to trust him.

Light is not an outcast. He is not a punk or a rebel in any way.

If you were committed to doing “Death Note but in the USA” Light would be an all-American boy, the local sheriff’s son who plays sports and gets good grades and  just seems oh-so wholesome. That was why back when I was in high school and people floated Zak Effron as the casting for an American Death Note I thought it was a great idea since Light would probably be a Troy Bolton type in the USA, albeit with a bit more focus on his academics than sports.

Light is not an outcast. He is the sort of boy where if he was American and was accused of a crime you’d have two thirds of the town online going “that good boy would never do such a thing.”

Just…where did this idea of “punk” Light even come from? Where in any version of Death Note has Light ever done anything remotely teenage-rebellion-ish? Just…where did this even spring from?

what she means: honestly the idea that pidge unequivocally hates traditionally girly things is in no way supported by the canon of the series, and is actually somewhat rejected when you consider how upset she seemed to cut her hair and take on a disguise. while it's possible after being stuck in space for a while with one (1) set of clothes she's grown to appreciate her current look, the idea that she hated having long hair and wearing dresses is kind of strange and seems to exist only to turn pidge into a bland stock character when she's actually a really interesting, layered kid. she can like computers and piloting and be sporty and stuff while also not being disgusted by the mere idea of femininity. if i have to read another gotdam fic where she moans about how boring/gross traditionally feminine habits/activities are i am gonna launch myself into the astral plane i s2g
