What is even happening?

A small gift for my love. <3 I tried to prove to myself that I can draw anything other than sketches. It didn’t work out the way I planned, it’sn’t perfect and it’s crooked in some places, but I tried very hard. It looks like I’m trying to jump above my head. It is too early for me to go into a similar style, I have to think of something simpler.

Gabriel laughs, though it holds little to no actual mirth to it. Love? A useless emotion that while could make one stronger, it would also, eventually, lead to one’s downfall. Gabriel knows all too well about that one. Reaper? Not so much.

Useless.

Love is useless, just like dreams, the wraith tells himself. Dreams are something he hasn’t had in so many years that he forgot they even existed at this point- and yet, here they were being thrown back into his face. All those years that he had hoped- dreamt- for things to get better, for things to better themselves... They were a waste of time.

He makes it a point to glance upwards as dramatically as he possibly can, red eyes meeting the murky blue of the sky, before the dark grey clouds of an incoming storm crowd his vision. The pitter-patter of the rain starts off slow, before it picks up and hammers down on the two men standing near each other.

He’s always loved the feeling of rain pouring down on him, today is no different, he concludes.

He hums curiously then, arms crossed and a single digit tapping at his forearm, and lowers his gaze back to level with Jack’s. Though the red glow of his eyes passes through his mask’s eye sockets, the nostalgia that would be so clearly visible is, fortunately, hidden away from the sight of prying eyes.

“... But a lot has changed.” Gabriel muses, voice quiet and barely audible over the hammering of rain onto the concrete floor he stands on. “Nothing is the same as it was back then. Not you. Not I. Not the world.”
