Itâs hard to talk about PNES with people that donât have them. I have a hard time telling someone that i had a seizure because they worry, and then I have to deal with their reaction and explain that Iâm totally fine (even to people that have been around for a while). Part of me feels like even talking about PNES is attention seeking and wrong because itâs not âthat bad.â At the same time, I want to be able to tell someone that I donât feel great and having them be supportive of that.

Pseudoseizures are a vicious cycle
You have a seizure cause you're stressed or anxious
Seizures are a stressful and scary experience, leading to more anxiety
Before you know it you're bedridden for three days because you were having seizures all day and your body is exhausted

I may not understand psychosomatic disorders, but damn, people definitely should stop stigmatizing them. Like, why the fuck it's called pseudo just because it has mental origin? You wouldn't call someone depression pseudo, so why the fuck you're calling functional symptoms pseudo?
Guys with FND/Conversion disorder/Idk, whatever you call it, you're completely valid. I genuinely don't care about your disease being psychogenic, you're still a legend with completely real symptoms, just not psychical origin.

"sends you this post with a soft blanket and zero pressure" đźđď¸
if your body sometimes hits an emergency alarmâseizure-like episodes, but EEGs show "no epilepsy"âyou might be navigating PNES (Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures). letâs hold space for this:
đ PNES can feel like:
seizures without epileptic activity (your brainâs distress code: "overload!!")
trauma or stress stored in your body (even if you canât pinpoint why right now)
frustration with misdiagnosis ("itâs just anxiety" â but itâs so much more)
guilt or shame (as if youâre "faking," even though youâre not)
your symptoms are REAL. theyâre just speaking a different neurological language.
healing isnât about "stopping" your bodyâs criesâitâs about listening to them. đą this PNES Workbook offers:
trauma-informed grounding tools
ways to track triggers & early warnings
gentle nervous system resets

It's so funny to be diagnosed with "Pain We Can't Find The Source Of Disorder" or "Brain is Physically Fucked and we Don't Know Why Disorder" or "We Don't Know Why You Have Seizures Disorder" and instead of more research, tests, etc being performed, you're told to get Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Bonus points if your diagnosis of Exclusion was the 1st-3rd conclusion your doctor came to.

guys.. don't go off your serotonin meds to just go back on a couple days later if you are experiencing side effects. If your tummy hurts so bad because of your prozac, stay off of it. It's not worth being suicidal all over again to restart your dosage. Don't do that, folks. Just.... reminder... important life lesson.. stay off of it and ask your psych.

i've been lurking in the transandrophobia tag for a few months now and i still don't get why people hate that term. so far from what i've gathered the arguments against it are all narrow-minded, ignorant or balancing on very specific double standards:
-a refusal to acknowledge the effect that being socially perceived as both a woman and a "freak" has had on transmascs
-a general blindness to the lives of trans men in the global south
-refusing to take things like fgm, honour killings or forced pregnancy seriously
-choosing to listen to cis people over trans men
-a general weirdness around intersex people - i first started paying attention to transandrophobia when i noticed that a lot of the red blogs on shinigami eyes seemed to be people who were just intersex.
-two slightly confused camps, people who claim trans men cannot experience misogyny and people who claim that trans men "just" experience misogyny (therefore the term "transandrophobia" isn't needed)
-people who for some reason think its a good idea to associate trans men with sexual assault <- as if trans men aren't already seen as sexually perverse by the general public
-posts that for some reason exclude trans men even though trans men are affected by whatever is being mentioned, eg. i saw a post about jkr that only mentioned trans women when jkr hates all trans people and the thesis of her original shit essay was the "epidemic" of "girls" seeking to transition
-similarly to above, a common argument against transandrophobia is "well [x] doesn't just affect trans men," but i constantly see things labeled as "transmisogyny" even though they affect pretty much every trans person (jkr's antics, being considered a sexual predator, various anti-trans laws).
-"joke" posts that boil down to "we should kill all transmascs" - i haven't ever seen a "joke" post from the """transandrobros""" even remotely close to this
-"transandrophobia truthers" simultaneously being called MRAs and TERFs
-constant lies about the transandrophobia tag. from what i've seen any transmisogyny gets shut down very quickly but all anti-transandrophobia posts say its rampant with transmisogyny which is just. not true unless you believe the term "transandrophobia" is inherently transmisogynistic, in which case thats just a circular argument.
-transandrophobia is "stealing" language from transfems - this is just how language works.
-"you're misgendering yourselves" and other stupid "gotchas"
-"theyfab" "tboy" "tme" and other ways of quietly dehumanising/infantilising transmascs
-ragebait

People who say shit like "oh all foids- I mean pussies- I mean theyfabs- I mean bitches- I mean transmascs make is whiny ukelele music meanwhile transfems make EPIC music" piss me off so much but also. Do they know that ElyOtto! was transmasculine. The guy who made Sugarcrash. THAT Sugarcrash. One of the most viral trans-made hyperpop songs from this decade (the 20s). That hit Rolling Stone and Billboard rankings thrice.
ElyOtto is transmasc nonbinary. If you didn't know, now you do! Stop doing this wacky girls vs boys shit. You look like children. We can all make cool music.

Mozilla, in its finite wisdom, embedded LLM bots into recent versions of Firefox for the vitally-important purpose ofâŚÂ naming tab groups. Now, some users are noticing CPU and power usage spikes caused by a background process called Inference.
Ugh. Reminder again for Firefox users to visit your about:config page, search for the browser.ml.chat.enabled key, and set that to false:
If yours says true then double-click it until it reads false.
Doing that turns off the AI chatbot features in Firefox, but also the stupid new LLM tab-naming feature that's rolling out.

Any plan for combating CSA is going to have to reckon with the fact that teenagers are often horny and feel a desire to explore and express their sexuality and if they don't have a safe avenue for that which doesn't involve interacting with adult predators they will find an unsafe one which does

If "loving yourself" seems far away, aim for treating yourself with the basic kindness and respect that you aim to treat everyone else with. Or if even that feels unrealistic, aim for not hurting and neglecting yourself. You don't have to move from 1 to 100 all at once. Just start, even if you gotta start slow, even if the journey in front of you is long. It's okay to be a work in progress. We all are, for life.

I need some advice removing a mystery stain from a wool tunic.
Someone gave me an extra tunic for WW1 reenactment (made probably the late 40s or 50s, not sure if itâs a wool blend or not) and Iâd love to wear it for a reenactment this weekend. But for some reason, it has a single mystery red stain in the very middle. It looks like a fake blood spot done for a display that someone unfortunately left for god knows how long. I have no idea when the stain was made and no idea what it could possibly be to know what to use to remove it. But whatever it was mustâve been seriously dye based because I have spot cleaned this thing over 10 times already with both vinegar and an oxi stain remover. Varying lengths of time, various amounts of product, soaked for half an hour, overnight, hot water, cold water, etc, everything, and it has barely faded.
Anybody have any idea what I could do? (Pic when I first got it)

FTM PASSING ADVICE
- start wearing typically masculine clothing, like suits with wide shoulders
- people will tell you to not wear pinstripes because it'll make your chest and curves more obvious but think of it as a disguise to throw off their scent, like a zebra. it's urban camouflage
- start callin other men "boss" as a sign of respect
- always make sure to stay safe, keep a switchblade on you or a handgun or something
- consider your diet, work some carbs and fat in there for when T starts workin it's magic. im talkin pasta, pizza, lasagna
- tuck your hair up into a fedora if ya can't cut it
- remember to voice train, if you layer on an accent maybe it'll be less obvious, like a Brooklyn one if you're not already from there
- start snappin your rhythmically and intimidatingly when you find the poor bastard that owes the big man up top that several hundred grand who hasn't paid his dues yet. that'll show em who's the dominant man in the situation
- put a playlist of noir jazz music together and have it playing on your phone in your pocket so it follows you at all times, this is crucial to exuding masculine energy
- don't bind for more than 6-7 hours straight

why tf would shinigami eyes be for spotting transmisogyny only? Like... thats kinda weird if an extension made to call out all transphobia is used for only one type of transphobia, and people who call out transandrophobia/transmisandry are marked as red. Or y'know, intersex people. Or multigender people. It's really weird that people use shinigami eyes only for one type of transphobia, and users who mark others as red are being blatantly transphobic, just not in the way that's apparently wrong.
Like... isn't it hypocritical to say that you're only against transmisogynists, using an extension that's supposed to be against all transphobia, and being actively transmisandrist, exorsexist, and intersexist towards people who just decided to call out your bullshit?
Like... it goes to show that there's something messed up, here. Why is it only for "trans women", when its supposed to be for all trans people? I mean, it goes against what's basically advertised for the extension. To call out all transphobia. Not just one type of transphobia.
happy pride month to every trans and intersex person marked red by shinigami eyes. and a reminder to everyone who still has the extension, always check to see if the person marked red is actually just an innocent trans/nonbinary or intersex person. if they're actually a trans person or an intersex person, and not a hateful bigot, mark them as t friendly, so you dont end up seeing them later as bad.
And a friendly reminder that if I do reblog from people marked as red, double check to see if they are an innocent person, instead of assuming people are reblogging from bigots.
I see this happen more and more. Towards multigender people, towards trans men, towards intersex people, etc. It keeps happening. So look out for your community, and think about whether or not you want to keep this extension. It clearly is made by really biased people, and directs harm towards innocents.
So happy pride to every queer innocent/advocate who is labeled as bad by this extension, and if you have any better trans friendly extensions, let me know. We should not be having to see queer people put into the crossfire.
#babey reblogs#it's really hypocritical and sad#the people who are marked red aren't even transmisogynists. they're just intersex/nonbinary/trans men#don't be stupid#i scrolled down the user's blog and they reblogged a post about being kind towards intersex people#buddy pal milady whatever gender u want me to address you by- YOU DO REALIZE THAT INTERSEX PEOPLE ARE BEING UNFAIRLY AND DISPROPORTIONALLY#TARGETED BY THIS EXTENSION. CORRECT? YOU KNOW THAT? RIGHT?#THEN WHY ARE YOU SAYING THIS SHIT!!!!
