Is a quiet financing uprising reshaping healthcare for Indian women?
India’s healthcare sector is at a pivotal juncture. What began as a push to reduce maternal mortality has evolved into a broader framework of reproductive justice and gender-responsive care. But as clinical options expand, a silent bottleneck persists: affordability.
Today, a growing number of healthcare needs IVF, PCOS treatment, mental health support, and cosmetic recovery procedures, remain outside the purview of traditional insurance. Labeled “elective,” these services carry high out-of-pocket costs, creating a parallel healthcare system that serves only those who can afford to pay upfront.

New guidelines allow ride-hailing apps to double fares during peak hours, introduce cancellation penalties and mandate driver insurance.
Taking a calibrated approach to balance commuter costs and driver earnings, the government has updated the rules for ride-hailing platforms like Ola, Uber and Rapido. Are we building for India or just building in India?
Imagine standing on a bridge not just spanning a river, but connecting fragmented public opinion. In India, where every new railway line, metro extension, or expressway is a visible symbol of national progress, infrastructure has the potential to do more than just move people and goods; it can connect communities, instill pride, and reflect shared aspirations. Yet, this potential is often lost in controversy, suspicion, or fragmented communication.

Unlocking the hidden middle: A high-impact opportunity for India’s food system
India’s food security efforts have long focused on farmers and consumers, overlooking the vital “hidden middle”—a network of food processors, cold-chain operators, transporters, storage hubs, and packagers. This midstream segment is essential for reducing post-harvest losses, ensuring food safety, and linking farm output to markets. Despite its critical role, it remains under-recognized and underfunded, earning the label “hidden middle”

As the world watches the US–Iran situation with concern, the ripple effect from these events are reaching global oil supply chains – and exposing their fragility.
If Iran closes the Strait of Hormuz as it is considering, it would restrict the global oil trade and trigger energy chaos.
Petrol in some Australian cities could hit A$2.50 a litre according to some economists. As global instability worsens, other experts warn price spikes are increasingly likely.

If talks fall through, a suspended 26% tariff could snap back into place immediately, a throwback to trade tensions that began under the Trump administration in 2018.
