        "Nah, I'm good for the day." He shook his head, allowing the drops of water shake out of his dark locks and stood up. "If I keep at it, I just might turn into a fish, even if I don't have magic powers." He laughed, tossing the towel over his shoulder. "I'll see ya in a bit after I change, 'kay?"

“you could, if you had some kind of magic powers,” she shrugged. “we’ll work on it, but i’d say that that’s enough for today,” leigh-rose nodded, then reached over for her backpack behind herself to put the timer back into it’s usual pouch on the side. “unless you’re not done yet?”

“well, i dunno about that just yet. but let’s just hope i’ll be timing you at the olympics too,” she laughed, smoothing the fabric of her dark blue skirt. “i think you might’ve beaten the old top score,” leigh-rose smiled, squinting down at the timer in her hands. “yep. i’m pretty sure you did.”

         "Yeah, you will! 'Cause I'll be the one to invite you when I do go!" Milo sighed with satisfaction and laughed afterwards. "Awesome. Then that means I gotta do even better next time. I wonder if I could become a blur in the water when I do get faster..."

“surprise, surprise,” she rolled her eyes, still crouched down at the pool’s very edge. leigh-rose didn’t dare go in herself, as she still held a strong fear of both swimming and drowning, so she volunteered to keep time instead of swim alongside the others. “but you beat your last time.”

       "And that only means I'm gettin' better!" Milo pulled himself out of the water and sat beside her. As he reached for the towel to dry off his face, he glanced at the clock for his time. "Whoa! Who knows, I just might be the fastest swimmer!"
