Come to Congress Theatre in Eastbourne on 14th June to see us old lot.  Let’s see Ronnie Hughes on trumpet him off the telly you know Dustin Hoffmans quartet.  Who else errrrm well trombones we have Barry Forgie from BBC Big band and the very lovely Bill Geldard, on the other side of my bald self is Natty oops I mean Martin Nicholls from the Covent Garden band.  Now who’s that hiding in the saxes mmmm.... masquerading in swing it’s modern jazz legend Pete Wareham.  Bit of a mix, that’s what makes this band so awesome

That’s some c-r-aaaazy bone right there.  I mean I’m not saying I haven’t made a noise of a roaring snake on any old bone.  Would be good for a halloween gig hey? on a new orleans style march.  Yesssssssssssss

I’ve got you under my skin.  Paris Catacombs not as creepy as I thought it would be and really amazing.  Then you just pop out into a shopping street and did it happen?, is it really there....

A lovely tour of Paris in February 2014 with L’orchestre des objets trouve or Lost and Found if you like it that way.  3 weeks of the Casino de Paris, hosepiping, sawing and making music.  Encore....

Not Only Hair
It’s not often I get asked to do a hair show, maily as I give Coots a run for their money when it comes to baldness.  As Ronnie Scott said it’s not red hair just a red head.  But I will be representing shiny with my trombone at The Old Market on 7th June in this http://theoldmarket.com/shows/noh-not-only-hair/ a live artistic hair show with real hairdressers and some excellent music composed by Scutty Lee

Our Dancing Feet.  A shiny new video of a show we did earlier in 2014 with Zap Arts Productions at the Winter Gardens in Eastbourne. I put together a Rockin in Rhythm lite with Sara Oschlag vocals, Jason Henson guitar, George Trebar on bass and Ollie Green on drums.  I loved it. More please!

Christmas song
The talented Matthew Wall arranged and put this video and recording together.  I was an absent partner recording my part at home and sending it in.  I couldn't make the video either so ably taken by Sara.  Love the vocals.

Mihaly Borbely
Paul Busbys' One world suite performed by his big band starring Hungarian Mihaly Borbely on soprano and wooden sax  tárogató .  A review on the hungarian jazz website jazzma.hu is here for those that can read in foreign.  I expect it's marvellous.

Fabulous gig with the Cuban Salsa band at the Small World Theatre in Ceredigion (Cardigan).  Well worth the epic drive and great to work with crazy Czech trumpet player Jaron Barnik.  The music comes alive with this audience of amazing dancers.

Victor Gregg
Played for this remarkable man tonight at his 95th birthday.  His story is amazing; survived Dresden as a prisoner, fought at El Alamein, to East Germany behind the wall.  That's real celebrity. The party guests included his old General and local roadsweeper.

Mike Reinstein
In the studio today with Mike for his new album Warface recording a couple of lovely tunes.  Mike is such a kind and thoughtful person and songwriter. Reina on piano today and Rob Heasman on trumpet duties.  All done at Transmission studios in Sayers Common with Ali the engineer making it all easy.  Nice to see Ali again from Monster studios where Rob and I did a session for the White Star Liners with Charlotte Glasson on sax.

Audio
New recording by my trio with Piers Clark on guitar and Terry Pack on bass.  Recorded at Henrys studio, all in one room with me hiding behind a pile of amps as an acoustic baffle.  Henrys masterful post production editing out all my wrong parps and setting the sound, I am so pleased with the result.

In Henrys studio round the corner today.  Bass and guitar sound lovely but you need to hide a noisy trombone behind this marvellous improvised baffle

Rehearsing today with Mike for his next album.  Looks like it will be my trumpet recording debut, gulp, for some military sounding overdubs.  Does he know what he's let himself in for?
