El príncipe Aemond Targaryen, apodado Aemond el Tuerto, fue hijo del rey Viserys I Targaryen y su segunda esposa, la reina Alicent Hightower, hija de la Mano del Rey Otto Hightower. Era el hermano menor del rey Aegon II Targaryen. Fue el jinete del dragón Vhagar.

Despite the loss of his eye, Prince Aemond became a dangerous warrior under the tutelage of Ser Criston Cole, the Lord Commander of the Royal Guard.

Aemond was nineteen when King Viserys I died. He had a lover named Alys Rivers.

He rode the dragon Vhagar during the Dance of the Dragons, taking the side of his brother Aegon II.
