George Cinnabar Rambling

a basic summary of his character from me in discord:

that's also your warning for drug usage implications.

Summary: George spends 99% of his time at Dreams side, as both a companion and a calming aid. As Dream has never had good control over his emotions (Primarily angry outburst that are not befitting of a diamond.) George rarely is seen not at Dreams side, and when he IS, he manages to spook every single other gem (on accident/not on purpose) due to his gangly size and form, and Due to being very quite in both movement and voice, never calling out to greet other gems when alone.

Post wars, when Diamond Dream gets put in the prison (Spoilers for the au LOL.) and George has actual unopposed alone time, where he's not just waiting for Dream to return, poor guy doesn't know what to do with himself! George spent all the thousands of years of his existence attending Dream, only focusing on Dreams wants and needs and simply not thinking of himself that he is just clueless on what do to with himself. Sapnap guides him through some of self realization and wants, but Sapnap also pushes the point of "I cant tell you what you want to do or need, George" George eventually finds himself primarily enjoying a comfortable spot in the woods where he can lay for days and just watch the sky. Somewhere far from where they'd been building, alone and undisturbed, except from the occasional beast that would wander up to George to sniff him or inspect him, then George would watch the beast until it wandered off. Sometimes beasts that became familiar and comfortable with his presence would rest beside him in the sun, curled up against his side. The fungus his spores grow is edible to beasts, and it has grown around his resting spot. It doesn't cause the same intoxication effect as it has on the gems, but does cause a calming effect. Meaning animals that eat a few of these fungus are far more confident and calm around George, and when they curl up in his comfortable spot he's made beside him, they rarely react to him touching (petting) them besides the initial gentle startle and glance from his touch.

Georges Powers Description: He fungal boy. He can create spores for shrooms, that he can either grow intentionally once they've landed, allow to grow naturally, or when they are inhaled by other gems, cause an intoxicated effect that usually causes a calmness about them. George is immune to this effect of his spores.

George Physical Description: George is very tall and lean, and i think is currently going to be the tallest gem on the colony. He's not terrible at physical combat, but doesn't have much training and often is to sit out with Fundy when Dreams court combat trains. George is a big gangly, arms and legs very long, smaller torso. When he walks with Dream, he keeps his hands clasped together on his chest chest just below his diamond shaped collar. When alone, he walks with them at his side, he looks like (Endermen) the similarly lengthy black scaled beasts that roam this planet in dim light. Also i think im removing his nose from his design. i am retconning his nose if you see old art with him having a nose, no you dont.

George's job Description: George was specifically created by pink diamond to be given to Dream very early on in Gem society. George is the third oldest gem on the colony, with Dream as the oldest and Techno being a close second. He is meant Comfort and Calm Dream, either with words or his Spores. Also to entertain and counsel Dream, mostly in a way of having Dream voice his thoughts to George and work himself into his own decisions. Doodles of George below the cut

I really love this au. And i wanted to ask how dangerous are the diamonts? Like how intimidating they can be?

Diamonds very scary and dangerous. WD Dream is just sort of a sheltered dumb-dumb.

I need to sit down and really decide on all the powers each diamonds has and list them, which i will try to bully myself into doing by making a draft post referencing the concept

But basically the other diamonds can pick up a humanish sized gem and poof/crack them in their bare hand by squeezing.

The Diamonds are still the "Dictators" of the gems in this au, although they are often much softer or gentler with disobedient gems in the absence of the other Diamonds. They have themes of trying to have a "Perfect Society" but are far more war focused. If you're not a 'perfect' cut, you still better be able to put up a fight and you'll earn your right to exist.

I... i fucked up my q settings... that many posts was not supposed to be done today... i wanted to have it posted out over time... i am in misery

the instament one was posted on purpose this morning when i finished it. i figured the q would auto go to TOMORROW instead of 3-4pm THE SAME DAY also i made it post to many in one day... yall enjoy the content drop because now im going to greedily hoard the other stuff that was in the q for a bit lol, i'll shedule the other two posts for maybeeee sat and sun day this week.

Tommy’s internal storage concept

Cannon Pearl has an internal storage- I’m running on the assumption all pearls have this. Tommy doesn't have very good control over it, but over time on the colony gets better with it.

Primary Important Items in Tommy Gem Storage:

Violin 

(The first personal possession Tommy ever got)

Emerald Compass 

(Actually just a GPS that is connected to Emeralds devices he carries, so Tommy can always know where Emerald is on the Colony, so when Techno leaves the moon for one reason or another without Tommy, Tommy knows exactly where Emerald is and can go visit him. -Techno gave permission for this, although technically pearls aren't supposed to go places without their gem, or to stay in Techno’s room while alone. To “not get in any important gems way”)

Music Disks 

(Acquired while on Dreams colony, something Emerald had or made using sounds he recorded from Tommy playing music and then remixed, and build a device to play it back for them.)

A Vibrant red flower. 

(Gift from Techno early on with him, before Dreams colony. From a distant moon. Tommy was still nervous around Techno, as Techno is quite and cold in most situations... Techno doesn’t say much about the flower, just stops as the pair are walking down a path to stare at the flower until Tommy almost bumps into him because he had been walking behind him. Tommy waits quietly for a few beats, following Techno’s gaze, before asking what the topaz was looking at the plant for. Techno reached in, and plucked the flower from quite a way down on the stem. Then Techno turned to Tommy, and held it out to him, softly saying “Looks like you. I like you and it. So you should have it.” Tommy takes it, stunned. Techno turns back to walking down the path silently.)

dsmp gem au Las Nevadas Concept

Las Nevadas is a ocean temple that was cleared and originally going to be demolished/refurbished for gems, but Quackity took it over post-L'manberg, and managed to command some of the sea creatures who built it to build more structures for him.

Guardians exist but are a wee bit different, and the temples are made of sand, gravel, and a fluid the guardians secrete from their mouths which they inject and mix the sand and gravel, turning it to stone when it interacts with starlight (sun light) when brought shallow enough in water that the sun hits it.

Guardians have crab-like limbs, but don't go to the bottom of the ocean unless it's to mix, so they swim and are mid water dwellers.

Once they see that Quackity is 'like them' (of water/bends the water) and is helping restore the temple, they become loyal to him.

They're smart, like dolphins. However less brutal to each other, but very hostile and brutal to things seen to not be "of water" or "like them".

They eat squid-like creatures that breed like crazy and are usually pests to the guardians. Trying to move into their hives and over populate them and fight them when big enough in size and numbers.

They're not human intelligent, they're still animals, the guardians, but they recognize faces and can follow directions.

Las nevadas is a regular Minecraft ocean temple, but with things Quackity directed the guardians to build onto it.

Many gems have performance tools instead of gem weapons- Like instruments!

The three Lapis's each have a instrument;

Quackity has a violin

Wilbur has a Guitar

Phil has a Lyra

Both pearls also have instruments!

Tommy has a Ukulele

Fundy has a Flute, as well as a Ribbon wand

Phil, being the only lapis of the three to have seen battle, used to play music for other gems who were training or battling, as a moral boost.

Tommy spent a long time alone at the Shell (Pearl manufacturing facility, a canon thing is su) and was allowed to practice his Uke anytime he wasn't cleaning the facility or showing a high ranking gem around the facility or showing off other pearls that "weren't defects".

Tommy can't sing/keep note, and is a little clumsy. Which is what makes him a "failure" of a pearl.

Techno just took him as his pearl for "practical" reasons, including:

- Techno didn't want to have to keep going back to the shell to get a pearl made to exact specifications.

- Techno didn't want to listen to lyrics/singing anyway, as it distracts him when he's training or reading, but likes the music Tommy played.

- Tommy is perfectly capable of doing the tasks Techno needs/was assigned a pearl for. And if Tommy is just 'sitting around doing nothing anyway.' it made the most sense to Techno to just take him on his first visit. Despite the Shell system insisting otherwise, one mention of the fact that Techno has some sway with Pink Diamond, due to being a favorite in the Coliseum of early Homeworld, the shell backed down at the idea of Techno contacting and 'bothering' PD with such a trivial matter.

Can I make an attempt to draw the fusion of your Tommy and Dream designs? I don't know whether they will fuse or not in your story, but it's really fun to explore!

I think gem cdream will have a desire to do it, just to make ctommy *his* and he can always feel tommy. Their fusion's personality will be like Jasper and Lapis' fusion, where one takes most control because another one succumbs to them. It also means tommy can fight back and try to take control :D

you 100% can draw that fusion! we'd love to see it! you've hit the nail on the head with their personality, it defiantly would not be a very cooperative fusion, they'd be constantly fighting for control and dream would usually hold the position of control.

we know that d!Dream envy t!Techno but i wonder how t!Techno feels about D! Dream

Topaz!techno feels strange about diamond!dream at first. he knows in a way that he is a diamond, and his superior, but Techno has directly served the highest ranking diamond and fought his way through ranks and battles to be acknowledged by his true diamond, and he has never see Dream fight a true battle. Techno values bravery and skill, and Dream doesnt prove himself to Techno in the time Techno serves him. After Techno finds out how Dream treats his pearl!Tommy, Techno renounces his loyalty to Dream, not to the diamond authority, but directly and only to Dream. Stating to his face that he will still play his part on the colony, but unless Dream fights him and wins, Techno will not do as he says, at this point, due to it being a direct challenge, FireOpal!Bad and FireOpal!Sapnap step in to fight Techno while Dream flees. This act of cowardice on Dreams part, not even bothering to see the challenge through, solidifies Technos rebellion against him. Also, many other gems who see this rebellion from such an important and dangerous gem such as Techno gives them the strength to turn them against Dream, if Lapis!Wilburs rebellion has already made thier loyalty shaky
