The man who inspired generations of young kids to get into playing drums is Mick Avory. A name often overlooked, given he was among so many other legendary drummers in the sixties!

Jimmy Marinos from the Romantics. Early eighties power pop group from Detroit. Jimmy played open handed and was as solid as you'd want. Early on played Slingerland and moved to Ludwigs just before their hit "What I like about you". He seems to have disappeared from view and from all reports lives a quiet life thanks to the $$$ from songwriting royalties.

A look at a Memorial Day tradition carried out by William F. Ludwig Sr. (1879-1973),and William F. Ludwig Jr. (II) (1916-2008) on their rope drums to honor our nation's fallen soldiers with playing the military rudimental snare drum solo, "Three Camps."
