You sighed bumping your head against the metal frame of the van. You could tell him the truth. You might gain his trust which would make your life and your employers’ lives easier. Then again, the truth could also make Loki turn on you just as easily.
His piercing bluish-green eyes bored into yours as you met his gaze. You had your decision.
Your arms flared in a stretch, joints popping in relieving protest. “Well, isn’t it obvious? We’re being transported via a series of vehicles.”
His scowl brought a grin to your face. Your foot tapped his chin playfully. “What’s with that look, sourpuss? I answered your question, didn’t I?”
Loki sat up straighter, if that were even possible, the chains attached to him jingling thoughtfully. His aventurine eyes raked over you. “Yes… I suppose you did.”
He seemed… Satisfied? Maybe that wasn’t the right word for it.
His attention diverted to the binds around his wrists. He tested a few tugs and chuckled under his breath. Just as your head angled in curiosity, he pulled one more time. The metal shattered in one defining moment, one that solidified just how screwed you were.
You turned to gain the attention of the two men in the van’s front compartment. Loki’s hand to your throat arrested your movements.
“I wouldn’t if I were you,” he hissed.
His hand gave a warning squeeze before loosening. You swallowed tentatively, pursing your lips to follow his orders. The god’s lips curled into a smirk.
“Wise, little mortal,” he cooed, stroking your jugular with a thumb. “Now, I have no desire for the organizations you pretend or actually work for. You, however, could be useful.”
With a wave of his free hand and an emerald shimmer, you felt your body become lighter and… transparent? The seat you were in slid out from underneath you. As a matter of fact, the entire van was moving forward without you. Another shimmer and you landed hard on the ground. Loki, on the other hand, stood gracefully in front of your, watching the vehicle continue down the road like nothing had happened.
“Rise, mortal.” The rest of the metal adorning him had disintegrated. “Use your mobile device to acquire lodging. There is much to attend to.”
You scuttled to your feet quickly and fished out your phone.

Tell Loki the Truth
🖐️ pause this is a part of a choose your own adventure. If you just found this you can start from the beginning here.
Written by: @lilyofthesword-writes
Pairing: Loki x Agent!Reader
Summary: You have successfully gotten Loki away from S.H.I.E.L.D. and are on route to your organization when you decide to tell him the truth about what is really going on.
Word Count: 692
Warnings/Disclaimers: None
You sighed bumping your head against the metal frame of the van. You could tell him the truth. You might gain his trust which would make your life and your employers’ lives easier. Then again, the truth could also make Loki turn on you just as easily.
His piercing bluish-green eyes bored into yours as you met his gaze. You had your decision.
You leaned forward conspiratorially. Whether or not he meant to, the god did the same. “I’m going to level with you, Mischief. I’m not totally sure myself. The endgame is getting you to my employers and helping them take down S.H.I.E.L.D.”
Loki stared at you blankly for a moment before a deep set frown pulled at his lips. “You are even more of an imbecile than I initially took you for, mortal.”
“Says the one who is still technically a prisoner.” You toyed with the chains still binding him, a grin swelling your cheeks. “Taken twice over.”
“Perhaps this is where I want to be. Perhaps this is part of my plan. I am a god, as you very well know. I could disintegrate this metal whenever I please and do the same to you.”
His own cheeky smile was smug beyond belief, and it annoyed you.
“You put on a good show, Mischief,” you chortled. “Guess we’re more alike than I thought.”
“You think me weak, mortal?”
Loki’s head tilted curiously, but his words held an underlying venom. It made a chill run down your spine.
“I did not say that. What I mean is that, like me, you have no plan.” You powered through his growled scoff. “You are going with the flow, taking in information, seeing what will suit you later. When the moment arises, you will use it to your advantage. You’re an opportunist.”
The look on the god’s face made you think of a child who had tasted a sour candy for the first time — Disgusted. And it was absolutely hilarious.
Then, the corners of his lips twisted upwards into an alarming iteration of his earlier grins.
“Well, if we truly are so much alike, then you should know what I will do at the proper moment,” he spoke in a low pitch that shot through your gut and chilled your blood. He chuckled at your pursed lips only partially concealing the fear racking through you. “It seems you finally understand your predicament.”
He leaned even closer until he was only a few inches from your face. “So, little mortal, what will you do when the time comes? What will you use to your advantage?”
There was a strange glean in his eyes like there was something else he was referencing. Exactly what, you weren’t sure.
The van came to a sudden halt, its side door sliding open with a screech not a second later to reveal a small platoon of heavily armed soldiers. Snatching Loki’s chains in hand, you gave a gentle tug for him to follow you to the pavement. Surprisingly, he chose to obey your silent instructions.
“We’ll take it from here,” the commander huffed, moving to take what was essentially Loki’s leash at this point.
You tucked it out of his reach and countered, “The orders were for me to bring him to Sanders.”
The man shoved you aside, grabbing the cuff around Loki’s wrists and shucking him forward. Rather harshly, you noticed. “Well, orders changed. You are to return to your sector and await further orders.”
Your pride flared in your chest. Loki side-eyeing with that same look from earlier tamped it down.
Inhaling deeply, you managed to answer calmly, “Yes, sir.”
Loki gave you the most minute of nods as he led away in the the building, the soldiers following a short ways behind them.
It all hit you then. The moment you “stole” Loki away, you handed him all control. He could have run a long time ago, killing you and anyone in his way with ease. Yet, he didn’t. He was biding his time. His questions… He was asking you to pick a side: Loki or your organization.
Choices:
Go into sneak mode and follow the group taking Loki. (Chapter coming soon, comment below if you want to be tagged when this chapter is released.)
Follow your new orders. (Chapter coming soon, comment below if you want to be tagged when this chapter is released.)

["Alright, time to close! Good night!".]
🖐️ pause this is a part of a choose your own adventure. If you just found this you can start from the beginning here.
Written by: @likeitloveitblogit
Pairing: Loki x Reader/romantic
Summary: You decide not to let Loki know you have no plans for the holidays. But things change when Loki overhears your phone call.
Word Count: 2.2K
Warning: None
Well, Christmas was just next week. He was going to be completely alone, and, to be fair, you were too.
Was this inappropriate? Could you possibly lose your job because of this? Truth was, the sparks were evident, and perhaps inviting him over for dinner wouldn't necessarily be too bad. Maybe he would just politely decline, and you'd move on with your life and job as if nothing happened. Maybe he could come over and not tell anyone, and spend a lovely Christmas dinner with someone else other than your pets.
You sighed out. He looked at you expectantly, and you couldn't stop your words.
"Alright, time to close! Good night!"
Loki looks surprised by your abrupt response but he thanks you for the books for the day and heads towards the door.
Right then your phone rings. Almost no one ever actually calls you, so you didn't even notice that the ringer had been left on. You look at the caller ID and see that it is your mother. You decide that since you hardly hear from her and your shift is technically over you might as well answer. Better that, than listening to an angry voicemail about how kids these days have no respect for their parents. The fact that you were at work did not make one bit of a difference for her.
"Hello, Mom."
"Oh wow. Y/N? I didn't think you would answer. Always some excuse why you can't talk to your own mother. Ha ha."
Looks like you were in for a lecture anyway.
"I'm at work, so I can't talk for long."
"Oh dear, you work far too many hours. If you had gotten a nice job like your sister. Or a rich husband like your cousin you wouldn't have to work these crazy hours."
"Mom! What did you need?"
"No need to give me attitude. I was calling to give you good news. Your cousin was able to rent the larger cabin, so we can all have Christmas together this year after all. And I don’t want you to give me any grief about not coming. I know that you’re worried because you are single and you’re ashamed that you still haven’t found someone. But I still need you here to spend time with your family.”
“Wow, that is great news for all of you guys. That should be so much fun. But I am not..”
“Hello Darling, is that your mother on the phone?” You are shocked to see Loki appear at your side and take the phone out of your hand, “Hello Mrs. Y/L/N, your lovely child was getting ready to say that they are not single. So prepare a room for us at the cabin, we will be happy to see you there.”
“Uh uh uh, ok. That is what?”
“Send the details to their phone and I will set up the travel details for us.” Before your mother could respond Loki hung up and handed the phone back to you.
"Loki! What was that all about? Why did you tell my mother you would be coming to my family Christmas? Do you really think we can pass off some kind of fake dating thing?"
“Darling, I understand that I should have asked your permission first, but I have heard the way that your mother speaks to you and I couldn’t stand it. You are a truly spectacular person and you do not need a man to come in and save you, but I thought this would be a way to get your nosey mother off your back for a while. And fear not, I am the god of lies, I can pass any kind of fake scenario.” when he saw your reluctant look, he added “Plus what better way for me to learn about the Midgardian holiday traditions then to attend an actual traditional holiday celebration?”
And with that you realized there was no changing his mind, Loki was going to Christmas with your family. The next few hours passed quickly, packing your stuff, explaining to Tony why you were stealing his “guest” and scheduling a ride up to the cabin in the morning. You slept restlessly worrying what your family would think of Loki, and worse what Loki would think of your family.
In the morning the ride went quickly, and before you know it you and Loki arrive at the cabin. After quick introductions, you and Loki have the freedom on what you should do for the day.
Drinking Hot Cocoa
It had been far too early when you got up to make the trip and as soon as you get out of the car the freezing air hits your face and you already regret not packing warmer clothing. Your coat was a cute vintage one that was perfect for the city, but not nearly warm enough for the mountain air. You thought that you hid your discomfort well while doing introductions, but Loki knew you well enough to see through that. He suggested you both go inside and look for something warm to drink. You’re completely relieved to see that the cabin has a full cocoa making station set up. Different types: white chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate. With different mix-ins: peppermint, sprinkles, salted caramel, marshmallows, creamer, little cookies. And of course whipped cream. At first Loki is a bit intimidated by all the choices, but eventually he just copies whatever you pick. The two of you talk about little things and favorite memories and sip your drinks as slowly as possible to savor the moment. Some of your family come and go as you sit at the breakfast bar, and they all seem to enjoy chatting with Loki.
Build a Snowman
Once the mugs have run dry, someone makes the suggestion that everyone goes outside to make snowmen. The snow was the perfect consistency for making snowmen, just wet enough to be shaped and just cold enough to hold together. You have to show Loki how to get started making the balls, but once you do he's a natural. At some point it becomes a competition to see who can create the biggest snowman. Obviously you and Loki's snowman is the clear winner, over any of the other teams.
Go Skiing/ Snowboarding
After the snowman competition your cousin reminds you that the cabin was part of a ski resort which offered skiing and snowboarding to guests. You are not sure about going because you were never great but Loki is overly confident from his snowman building success. But it turns out to be false confidence. As graceful as Loki is, there was something about skiing and snowboarding that Loki could not get the hang of. You try to help but that just leads to the both of you falling and stumbling down the mountain. Loki's pride makes him keep trying, first skiing and then snowboarding. Eventually you have to complain that you were too tired, to get him to stop and head back to the cabin early.
Sit by the Fire
Sore from the day's activity, you're happy to change into dry clothes. But you are disappointed to realize that you forgot to bring extra shoes or slippers with you. You're so cold and Loki notices you shivering, so he herds you over to the couches near the fireplace. Grabbing a blanket Loki snuggles in close to you. When you start to complain about getting too close, he reminds you that you're supposed to be "dating". You pretend to put up a fight but secretly you love being wrapped in his arm. Feeling his chest move behind your back as he breathes. The groups slowly return and join you, keeping up easy conversations about past Christmases and general embarrassing childhood stories.
Go Ice Skating
One of the cousins comes in and excitedly tells everyone that the lake was frozen enough this year to hold up to ice skating. Loki wants to redeem himself after failing at skiing and snowboarding. This time Loki is truly graceful. Skating circles around everyone else. At first he is super competitive but once he sees that you're not enjoying that he slows down. Instead skating along with you. Trying little bits of ice dancing with you. Only doing little spins to try and make you laugh.
Make Snow Angels
On the walk back from the lake you notice a pristine patch of snow that would be perfect for making snow angels. Angels aren’t part of the mythology of either Asgard or Jotunheim, so you have to explain before Loki understands what you are talking about. Once you explain, Loki is still confused, so you just flop down and show him how they are made. He can’t stop smiling watching as you flap your arms and legs around. As you get up, you show him the angel outline that you created. But when you tell him that it’s his turn, he tries to argue that he couldn’t possibly create something as beautiful as you had. But you won’t allow that kind of thinking and push him down right next to your angel. “You wouldn’t want them to be lonely, now flap your arms and legs already”. After Loki gets up you both marvel at how perfect the two angels look together.
Drink Warm Beverages
Yet again you arrive back at the cabin freezing. The cocoa from earlier was sounding so good, now that you were freezing again, but the cocoa station had been long since emptied out by the rest of the family. Instead you and Loki are able to find yourself some more grown up warm beverages. Loki decides to try a mulled wine that your sister had made using an old family recipe she dug up, that you suspect might have actually come off of Pinterest. You go for a spiced cranberry orange cider that your cousin had made. With everyone back for the day, the inside of the kitchen felt too crowded so the two of you decided to take your drinks out on the porch. You think of grabbing a blanket on your way out and the two of you snuggle on the porch swing enjoying your drinks. Watching as the snow continues to fall.
Eventually your drinks ran out and the blanket was not enough to keep away the cold, so you were forced back inside. All that ran through your mind was how it had been a truly wonderful day with Loki. But the moment you stepped inside you were immediately greeted by your mother who looked none too happy.
“Y/N, could I speak to you?” glaring at Loki who stood at your side, “alone.”
You nod and look back at Loki, “I’ll be right back”
Your mother hardly waits for you two to make it around the corner before she starts yelling.
"Your sister told me who that Loki person is. How could you bring some kind of evil, alien monster to your family’s peaceful holiday celebrations? You can't find anyone better to date than some kind of failed villain? Hunny, I expected so much better from you."
"Mom!? You have absolutely no right to say any of those things about Loki, you have no idea what he has been through. Did you do any research to see that he has been working with the Avengers for all this time to help protect the planet? No. And I know you haven’t been spending the last few weeks getting to know how sweet, smart, charming, caring, inquisitive, and just overall wonderful of a person he is. Loki is from another realm, yes but there is nothing wrong about that. He is nothing but a hero and a gentleman.”
Once you had made your point, you turned around and made your way back to Loki. Grabbing his arm, you quickly retreated back to the room that had been assigned to the two of you.
"Did you really mean all those things you said to your mother?"
"You heard that?"
Loki nods, waiting for you to answer his question.
"Good. Well not good that you heard my mother. But I'm glad you heard what I said. I meant every word of it. You are so incredible and I wish everyone could see that."
Suddenly you realize just how close the two of them are standing. How easy it would be for you to reach out and kiss. Clearly Loki is having the same thought, because he reaches to brush a stray hair, resting his hand on the side of your face Loki says "it's not fake dating if you let me take you on a real date"
You look into Loki’s eyes and can’t find your words, instead you lean up and plant your lips on Loki’s. The kiss was warm, you could still taste the spice of the mulled wine on his lips. It wasn’t rushed like first kisses often are, instead it felt like your lips were meant to be kissing his. Like this was exactly where the two of you belonged.
Eventually Loki breaks away from the kiss, “As much as I loved that, you didn’t answer my question. Do you want to go on a date? I need to actually hear you say it out loud.”
Choices:
Go on a date with Loki.  (Chapter coming soon, comment below if you want to be tagged when this chapter is released.)
Tell Loki this was a mistake and he should probably leave.  (Chapter coming soon, comment below if you want to be tagged when this chapter is released.)

“Pardon me, Thor. I’m feeling rather tired and think I’d like to retire to my room now,” you excused yourself.
“Of course, ambassador. Shall I escort you?”
“No thank you. I think I remember the way from looking at the maps. I’ll see you later.”
“Later indeed, my friend. Ask a maid or servant for help if you need anything; remember, you are Asgard’s most esteemed guest.”
You thanked him again before taking off in the direction Loki went in. It took you a minute, but you found his retreating form and followed from a distance. You tried to figure out what to say to the prince. It’s not like you could exactly say you were captivated by his eyes and had some questions about him. At least no so bluntly; that would be weird, you were sure.
For a second, you thought it might not matter what you wanted to say; you lost him when you turned a corner. Then his voice sounded behind you.
“May I ask what you are doing, ambassador?”
“Loki!” you squeaked, spinning around to face him.
Unfortunately, you slipped and began tumbling toward him. Somewhat harshly, he grabbed your arm to keep you upright.
“Why in the Nine are you following me?”
“I wasn’t.”
“If you are going to tell a falsehood to the God of Lies, I would suggest you do so convincingly,” he smirks, letting go of your arm.
“Fine. I was going to my room and got lost.”
He raises an eyebrow as if he still does not believe you, but you were persuading enough that he chose not to press. “Could my brother not spare the time to guide you? Or at least send someone along with you?”
The prince was an odd mix of cold and caring. You supposed whatever family and personal drama he had going on, he still knew how to be polite. Really, you shouldn’t read much into it. And yet, you found him charming.
“He offered, I refused. I thought I could get there by myself.”
“Ah. I see. Well, ambassador, pride can only get you so far.”
He cocked his head then, observing you. His piercing blue-green eyes seemed like they could reveal your deepest secrets, causing you to wonder just how much he could see. You were hyper aware of yourself in that moment. Every slight shift of your body made you worry you were somehow making a fool of yourself.
“Alright then,” he finally says, seeming satisfied. “Come along.”
“Pardon?”
“To your room, of course. You need a guide and I’d rather not get an earful from my brother about leaving you alone to wander. Unless you’d rather ask a servant, of course, but I get the feeling you’re trying to make a good impression and would rather not admit to being lost.”
Well, this was what you wanted, wasn’t it? A chance to talk with him.
“Ok. Lead the way.”
He did, going into full tour-guide mode. Yes, Loki was an odd one for sure. You couldn’t figure out how sincere he was and how much was an act. Whichever it was, his face fell as he gazed out toward the Bifröst. Before you could ask if he was alright, though, he was already ushering you along. Scrutinizing his actions led you to no conclusions, so you decided to just enjoy the tour.
“And now, ambassador, we have arrived at your room,” he finally declared. “I do so hope after I have spent so much time showing you around that you can manage not to get lost again. Just so we do not end up in this situation again, I may as well ask, have you any questions?”
This was, you supposed, the perfect chance to try to learn something about him. Better to ask one specific thing, though, rather than rudely ask why he seemed so distant and aloof. Maybe, just maybe, you could ask about what he was thinking about when he looked at the Bifröst. All you had to do was gather your nerves.
Choices:
Ask Loki what was on his mind (Chapter coming soon, comment below if you want to be tagged when this chapter is released.)
Say thank you and part ways (Chapter coming soon, comment below if you want to be tagged when this chapter is released.)

Summary: You pull yourself from Loki’s care and return to the Avenger’s Tower, but the mischievous god is not done with checking in on you.
Word Count: 720

Your heart hammered in your chest. The offer was certainly tempting, but could you handle sleeping in his bed? The scent of the sweater was already overwhelming as it was. To be completely swaddled in it within the privacy of his bedroom? Your mind was already muddled from blood loss. It wouldn’t take much more. You would break. If you stayed the night, you would surely wind up confessing to Loki and ruin one of the few good things in your life.
Shaking your head vehemently, you stood from the couch. “No, I— I appreciate it, Loki. But… If I call them, they’ll freak out and march down here to drag me back for a full medical assessment. I won’t be able to stay regardless.”
Well, that was mostly the truth… Depending on which of the Avengers you called.
“Darling, please,” Loki pleaded, rising to his feet to coax you away from your path to the door.
Your hand reached behind you for the doorknob, fingers grazing the cool metal and twisting to throw the door open. Meanwhile, your wounds burned in protest at your quick movements. You tried to keep a straight face as you swung yourself around to step outside. No need to give the trickster more ammo to add to his case. The worried agony in his eyes already made you want to change your mind.
“H-how about this,” you stammered a compromise when he pulled the door from your grasp so nothing stood between you. “I’ll text you when I get back.”
His jaw set as he considered your proposition. A heavy huff blew through his nose. “Call. I need to hear you’re well.”
Of course, he had to bargain. Might as well ask you to Face Time at this point.
“Okay. I can do that,” you agreed.
“Promise me.” Though resolute, he voice had a small waver to it, something that felt like desperation.
“I— I promise.”
Loki’s hardened gaze softened, and he took a step back, adding space between you and an agreement to allow your departure without further interference.
You did eventually make it back to the Tower. It just took longer than you would have liked. All you could think about was making it to your room and calling Loki. With how he acted earlier, he was probably losing his mind right about now. The only problem was a certain member of the team.
Steve was standing the lobby, leaning against the reception desk, arms folded across his chest like a parent who just caught their child trying to sneak into the house after curfew. He eyed you sternly with a hint of distress.
“What happened?” were the first words from his mouth.
“The mission—,” you cleared the grime from your throat as you stood taller. “The mission got a little hairy, but I managed.”
“Right,” he sighed.
A discomforting quiet settled, leaving you awkwardly loitering by the door. Maybe if you just started walking to the elevator, he’d leave you be.
“You went to him for your injuries again, didn’t you?”
Damn him for being perceptive. Then again, the green sweater was a dead giveaway. But damn him regardless.
“And if I did?”
He pinched the bridge of his nose and groaned. “You should have stayed there and called. What if your wounds reopened on your way here? No one would have been able to help you?”
Why did he have to make similar points as Loki?
“Look, just… Just come on. Let’s go to Med Bay and make sure you’re okay.”
Steve waved you towards the elevator.
“But—”
“No ‘but’s. You can call him after. This comes first.”
Relenting, you allowed him to herd you through the doors.
Once the elevator was finally on its way up, you broke the relative silent. “How did you know I was going to call Loki?”
It was in that moment that Steve’s steeled face melted into a tiny smile and he bit back a laugh. “You really don’t see it, do you?”
“See what?” You blinked, completely baffled.
“You two are hopeless. That boy is completely enamor—”
The ringing of Steve’s phone cut him off. He checked the Caller ID before handing it over to you.
“Looks like you took too long for his taste,” Steve chuckled.
The screen held Loki’s name.
Choices:
Answer Steve’s phone and talk to Loki. (Chapter coming soon, comment below if you want to be tagged when this chapter is released.)

[You Invite him to stay with you through the night.]
🖐️ pause this is a part of a choose your own adventure. If you just found this you can start from the beginning here.
Written by @theaudacitytowrite
Word count: 1.288

You fumbled nervously with the hem of his coat as Loki approached you slowly.
“I know this is a lot to ask of you but um...” you chewed on your lips nervously, not brave enough to look directly at Loki, “Would you perhaps stay with me? Just so I’m not alone. I don’t know why but the thought of staying alone after tonight's events makes me feel queasy.”
When he didn’t answer you plucked up the courage to face him, expecting a sickened expression. Perhaps you had read too much into the pleasant conversations from earlier. But when you caught the first hesitant glimpse of Loki's face, you were rewarded with a warm toothy smile that adorned his lips.
“Of course I can stay with you if you feel safer that way.” he nodded in affirmation.
“Great.” you smiled coyly at him before you let yourself and Loki in. You quickly got rid of your purse and hung up his coat neatly. You lead Loki towards your living room where you had a retractable couch for him to sleep on.
You talked while you fetched a blanket and a bedsheet at the same time. Even though you barely knew him, and your mother would probably give you a lecture if she ever found out that you had invited a stranger to stay the night, his presence radiated tranquillity. You felt safe around him and you needed it more than ever.
“I should have a spare pillow somewhere too,” you muttered in thought while Loki and you spread the bed sheet onto the couch.
“No worries. I will survive a night without one,” he assured you. You paused for a moment and met his gaze.
“Thank you, again. For everything.” you smiled thankfully.
“No need to thank me. You are more than welcome and I would do it again in a heartbeat.” he smiled back but registered what he had just said, “Not that I hope that such a horrible thing will happen to you ever again.”
“It’s ok. I know what you wanted to say.” you giggled at his flustered ramble.
“Good.” he chuckled visibly relieved.
“Good.” you agreed.
“So,” you cleared your throat, “I’m gonna see if I can find that pillow now.”
After a fight with your crammed closet, that wouldn’t hand over the pillow you had finally retrieved it, resulting in only minor chaos of clothes that covered your floor.
“Found it!” you chimed as you barged into your living room, the pillow held high over your head in victory. You froze in your tracks when you caught sight of Lokis bare chest.
“I hope you don’t mind. I wanted to get a bit more comfortable. Even though these buttons up are of exquisite quality but they’re not really comfortable to sleep in.” Loki began to explain why he stood half-naked in your living room.
“No, no problem at all. Make yourself at home.” you swallowed hard and handed over the pillow. You wished him a good night and walked back to your bedroom. According to your burning cheeks, your head had turned into a shade of a dark crimson red. You facepalmed yourself and decided to search the welcoming arms of sleep instead, which would hopefully help you forget tonight's events and reward you with a deep slumber instead.
~
Much to your chagrin, you couldn’t keep your eyes closed. You tossed and turned but every creak or crack made you jump. After hours of unsuccessful attempts, you decided to get a glass of water.
When you passed your living room you came to an abrupt halt. Your hand hovered over the handle as you debated your next step. Would you make Loki feel uncomfortable if you were bold and intruded his current bedroom? After all, he was here to make you feel safer. He surely wouldn’t mind, would he?
“Loki?” you whispered into the dark room and listened intently. You slowly shuffled into the room, trying to be as quiet as possible.
No answer. Only the steady rhythm of his breathing. You began to shiver as you stood barefoot on your hardwood floor. You felt silly for cowering in the dark like a little child that had a nightmare and tried to wake up his parents, so it could cuddle up against them and fall asleep once more.
“Y/N? Is everything ok?” Loki's mumbling startled you, even though you had waited for him to respond.
“No... I mean yes everything is ok it’s just...” you whispered.
“Can’t sleep?” he asked groggily.
“No.” you sighed heavily.
“Come here.” it took you a moment to compute his words, just to be sure you hadn’t misheard him. When you heard the distinct sound of a blanket that got folded back, you found the courage to shuffle to your couch.
You hadn't even time to evaluate what to do next when two strong arms pulled you down onto the couch.
“Are you comfortable?” breathed into your as he pulled your back close to his chest.
“Yeah.” you breathed.
“Good night then, little mortal.” he snuggled against your head and you could feel him smirk against the crown of your head.
“Night, Loki.” you smiled to yourself before sleep encased you soothingly.
~
The next morning you woke up cuddled closely to Loki, his arms wrapped tightly around you. You couldn’t deny it, last nights sleep was the best sleep you had in a while. You must’ve turned during the night since you were facing his bare chest now. You relished the moment for just a little longer as you shut your eyes tightly once more and let your senses flood with his heavenly scent. He smelled like a walk through a forest after a rainy day, familiar and soothing.
“Morning.” he rasped sleepily as he glanced down at you.
“Morning.” you replied content, “You up for breakfast?”
~
You quickly got ready before you went to get breakfast with Loki at a nearby cafe. The two of you walked together peacefully, enjoying the sun with the occasional conversation. In a blink of an eye, you had arrived at the tower. You had never realised that your apartment was only a stone’s throw away.
As you entered the big entrance hall Loki guided you directly to the med bay. A nice doctor named Cho greeted you and brought you into a consulting room. She thoroughly examined you and after a while, all tests were done. Besides some faint bruises from where the brutes had grabbed you, you were completely fine.
“See. I told you I’m fine.” you teased Loki.
“Better safe than sorry.” Loki jokingly turned up his nose at you.
“I agree with Loki. You were lucky.” doctor Cho agreed.
“I was. It’s not every day that one gets saved by a hero.” you smiled at Loki bashfully. Loki blinked at you a few times as if your words had caught him by surprise. You waited for a snarky response but he seemed to be rendered speechless. You weren’t sure of it but you could swear that you saw a faint blush creep upon his cheeks for just a moment.
After the examination was done you said your goodbyes before Loki lead you through the tower.
“Soo...” Loki began after he had shown you the view from the tower.
“So?” you asked intrigued by what was going on in his pretty head.
“I was wondering if you perhaps liked to come to the park with me. Maybe have a picnic, enjoy the sun and talk some more?” he nervously rubbed his neck, “Or would you rather go home and get some rest?”

[You backtrack and only call attention to his coat that you still wear.]
🖐️ pause this is a part of a choose your own adventure. If you just found this you can start from the beginning here.

You fumbled nervously with the hem of his coat as Loki approached you slowly.
“It‘s just…“ you began to mumble, “I still have your coat.“
Loki looked surprised for a moment but caught his expression quickly.
“Oh. Don‘t worry, I‘ll just get it tomorrow when I pick you up.“ he smiled at you, closing the coat around you a bit tighter, “Besides, it does suit you very well.”
You couldn’t bite back the smile that appeared on your lips accompanied by a light blush on your cheeks.
“Thank you. For everything.“ you gazed deep into his sapphire eyes, getting lost in them immediately.
“You‘re more than welcome.“ he returned your gaze.
“See you tomorrow then.“ you breathed out, a small cloud of your condensed breath floating between the two of you before it dispersed.
“Yeah.” he smiled, his eyes darting to your lips, before he cleared his throat, “See you tomorrow.” he softly pecked your cheek before he turned on his heel, leaving you behind with a racing heart.
You shivered yourself out of your dazed state and unlocked your front door, glancing one last time into the direction where Loki had disappeared to. You snickered and shook your head amused. It only took you some hours of knowing Loki and you already had it bad for him. As you entered your flat, you missed when Loki too, turned back one last time to sneak a peek at you before he rounded the corner.
~
The night had been rather short and less restful than you had hoped for. Every creek and crackle made you wince and secure the blanket even tighter around you. You were relieved once the sun had finally begun to rise over the skyline, the first sunbeams intruding your bedroom, shooing away the frightening darkness.
You pealed yourself out of bed and got dressed. As if on queue your doorbell rang when you stepped out of your bathroom. When you opened the door you were greeted by a warm smile and his now crystal blue eyes. Loki looked even more handsome in the daylight, his sharp features perfectly highlighted by the natural light.
“Hi.” he greeted you with a dashing smile and a velvety voice.
“Hi.” you grinned back at him, the troubles of last night immediately forgotten.
“Did you sleep well?” Loki inquired as he inspected your face.
“Not really. But it’s no big deal. I haven't slept well in a while.” you waved him off.
“How about an extra-strong coffee then?”
“As if you could read my mind!” you gasped.
You quickly grabbed your purse and coat before you went to get breakfast with Loki. The two of you walked together peacefully, enjoying the sun with the occasional conversation. In a blink of an eye, you had arrived at the tower.
You marvelled at the tall building. You couldn’t remember ever being this close to the tower even though your flat was just a stone’s throw away.
Loki guided you directly to the med bay.

You waited for a snarky response but he seemed to be rendered speechless. You weren’t sure of it but you could swear that you saw a faint blush creep upon his cheeks for just a moment.
You said your goodbyes to doctor Cho before Loki guided you out of the med bay. As you walked down the corridor towards the exit you walked past offices. Through the big glass front of one of the offices, you got a glimpse of a certificate hanging on the wall.
“Helen Cho… geneticist?” you wondered out loud and stopped in your tracks. Loki gently grabbed your hand, trying to pull you away.
“Did you really bring me to a geneticist?” you laughed in disbelieve.
“Well, yes. She’s the best in her field. So why not?” you couldn’t help but shake your head at him but let it slide. Instead, you followed him, your fingers still joined.
“I have something to confess.” he suddenly blurted out.
“Ok?” you chuckled.
“Yesterday I talked with Stark-”
“Tony Stark? As in Iron man?” you asked with a bit too much enthusiasm.
“Yes, that’s him.” Loki side-eyed you.
“Sorry, continue.” you smiled awkwardly at him.
“I talked to him, explained what happened and told him that I would bring you here to get checked out. And well… perhaps I have slipped some info about your current job situation.” he bit his lip, waiting for your reaction.
“You’re kidding me!” you gaped at him.
“No?” he chuckled amused, “Tony would like you to introduce yourself. Only if you’re interested of course.”
“Really? You’re not messing with me?” your mouth gaped in shock.
“No, why would I?” Loki looked almost offended at your distrust but you couldn’t pay any mind to it at this moment. You squealed in excitement and fell around his neck.
“Thank you, Loki! You’re the best.” you hugged him tightly before you released him, his hands casually resting on your waist.
“Wait, what did you tell him about my profession? How can I be useful for the avengers?” you pulled back and looked at him, panic rising in you. But Loki quickly dissolved your worries.
“I told him what you told me and he said you sounded interesting.” he explained, “Do you wanna meet him?”
“Like right now?” you tensed.
“Yeah, why not?” Loki shrugged but noticed your hesitant expression, “Or we could do something else if the interview is too overwhelming for you right now. Maybe go to the park and just enjoy the weather a bit.”

Will you meet up with Tony right away? (Chapter coming soon, comment below if you want to be tagged when this chapter is released.)

[Ask Thor about Loki]
🖐️ pause this is a part of a choose your own adventure. If you just found this you can start from the beginning here.
Written by: @lilyofthesword-writes
Pairing: Loki x Midgardian Ambassador!Reader
Summary: At the end of the meeting with the King and Queen of Asgard, you decide to ask Thor more about the aloof Loki.
Word Count: 643
Warnings/Disclaimers: None.
Following your captivated gaze, Queen Frigga grazed your upper arm with gentle fingertips. “Please, don’t mind him, my dear. He tends to withdraw more often than not, especially around newcomers,” she excused her younger son.
You wrung your hands as you thought about her words as she strode gracefully across the room and out the door after Loki. Something about them struck a chord with you. The blue didn’t just color her eyes.
A large hand suddenly clapped down on your shoulder which nearly popped on impact. “What troubles you, my friend?” Thor’s voice was indicative of his God of Thunder title.
“I guess…” You paused, unsure if you should be bringing this up. Part of you would rather just go talk to Loki, but at the same time… Would he even give you the light of day? With a sigh, you soldiered on, “I guess I’m worried about all of this. It seems I’ve made a good impression on you and Queen Frigga. Your father… Well, I kind of figured it will be difficult to win him over to begin with. It’s just…”
“Loki, yes?”
You nodded, regarding the intricate knotted design on the floor as you picked at your nails. Thor only sighed, giving your shoulder a quick squeeze before releasing you.
“It’s complicated… For all of us, right now,” he answered uncharacteristically softly.
That made sense, yet somehow you felt Thor was referencing something other than New Mexico or New York.
“I can imagine…” You worried your bottom lip. Perhaps you could get him to talk about it. “What was it like growing up in Asgard?”
Thor waved you forward to follow him out into the hall to continue the conversation.
“What was it like growing up with Loki, you mean,” he chided, his eyes shining with mirth. The God of Thunder was more clever than he let on.
You bobbed your head sheepishly. “Yes…”
“Do not worry, my friend. I have no problems speaking about some of our past. I would like to say our childhoods were joyful, and they were for the most part. Well, at least they were in my eyes. We were more competitive with each other. Although, I do believe Father played a hand in that.”
Part way down the gilded halls, you caught sight of the royal garden through a massive archway. Loki’s back was turned to you as he gently guided his mother down the path.
“But our experiences were different.” Thor had stopped in place when he noticed where you were looking. “I trained in brawn and weapons while Loki followed knowledge and the mystic arts. He has a love for stories and storytelling. It is what earned him one of his titles.”
You turned to him, eyes wide. “He has more than one?!”
Thor barked out a laugh, catching the attention of the two garden walkers. “We all do. You know Mischief. There is also Chaos, Magic and Stories.”
Loki and Frigga changed course in your direction. The Queen’s face upturned to a smile. Loki, on the other hand, remained just as sullen as ever.
“Speaking of stories,” Thor leaned down and whispered, “You should ask Loki about our childhood. He could give you a much more enthralling depiction.”
There was a crooked, mischievous grin on his face that morphed into a much more joyful smile as he greeted his family. Strangely enough, the glint in Frigga’s eyes seemed to reflect Thor’s strange energy.
“Loki,” she squeezed his forearm before extricating her arm. “Perhaps you should escort the ambassador to their chambers. I’m sure they would like to rest and freshen up before dinner, and the palace can be quite confusing for the unacquainted.”
The younger prince immediately stiffened at that, jaw hanging slightly agape as if he could not believe his mother would ask such a thing from him.

[Make a run for the getaway car with Loki]
🖐️ pause this is a part of a choose your own adventure. If you just found this you can start from the beginning here.
Written by: @youlightmeupfinn
Pairing: Loki x Reader
Warnings: None
“Shall we?” His voice asked. You looked to see your fiancé standing there, his eyes trained on you. Gulping, your eyes maneuvered to the sight of Loki’s keys already being pulled from his pocket. Looking up at him, you inhaled sharply. Your husband-to-be found himself beginning to close in on the space, looking at you as though you were crazy.
Well, you were.
Maybe?
Wiping the corner of your mouth, Loki waited for your response, his eyes shifting between you and the angered man approaching.
“Sweetheart,” The groom’s voice pitched through your ears, causing you to decide.
“Darling, it’s now or never.” Loki added seconds later.
“Get me the hell outta here!” You cried.
That was all it took for Mischief himself to activate his senses. He quickly gathered your hand and began to push through the crowd of people on the floor, the sound of the groom’s voice bellowing out.
“HEY!” He screamed, his footsteps running faster. You had your hands tangled through that of the raven-haired beauty beside you, those blue orbs flickering with a newfound intensity.
Adrenaline.
Oh, adrenaline was real, baby!
Your fight or flight response was initiated. Loki glanced behind him, watching as the infuriated groom was knocking people down left and right in order to catch up.
“Darling, can you run a touch faster?” Loki suddenly asked you, his strides overbearing yours. He was having to slow down in order to run. You shot him a stare, grumbling under your breath.
“Heels aren’t the ideal running shoe!” You cried out. Taking a few seconds, you ripped the heels off of your feet. Loki watched as you hurtled them behind you, the sound of your groom’s groan of pain filling the air.
“My eye!” He screamed.
Loki felt as you pushed yourself farther, your speed somewhat catching on with his. “Was throwing your bedazzled heel really necessary?”
Giggling, the two of you bustled out of the doors finally. “I thought there wasn’t this much talking during an escape?” You asked him with a subtle wink. The door to the bar suddenly crashed open and there your fiancé was, one hand covering his eye, the flaps of his dress jacket whipping with the motions.
“Where’s your car?” You asked.
“Down the street.”
“DOWN THE STREET?!” You cried. “I can’t run any longer! Not in this poofy-ass dress!” You looked down at the billowing dress that swallowed you.
Loki glared at you before a devious smirk crossed his face. “Good thing I can do this,”
Your eyebrows furrowed and a scream released from your throat when you felt the demigod throw you over his shoulder.
Suddenly, you two were in front of a sleek black coupe. You were screaming the entire time until Loki opened the door. When your eyes reopened, you gazed around, seeing that the bar was still in sight, but your fiancé was spinning in circles, trying to see where you went.
“You can teleport?” You asked.
Loki winked. “Perks of magic, love.”
“Was throwing me over your shoulder really needed?” You added, already hooking your seatbelt.
Loki smiled. “I felt the drama was necessary. Plus, it was funny to hear you scream.”
Glaring, you listened as the engine came to life. It wasn’t long before Loki pulled out of the parking space and you two were zooming down the street. You watched the man who you almost made the mistake of marrying, point a finger at you as you rolled the window down.
Taking your veil off, you threw it out of the window, watching as the wind blew it in his direction.
“How dare you!” He screamed, but Loki put the pedal to the metal, earning yet another scream.
“Love, I could listen to that sound all night long.” Loki prodded as he gripped the steering wheel.
Your cheeks began to turn crimson red, your heart rate quickening.
Oh, this devilish man was up to no good.
And you loved every moment of it.
Do you;

“Oh, oh! Thank you! Thank you, my king!” You exclaimed, smiling widely. Loki chuckled lightly at your excitement. He waved his hand and, with a light green shimmer, cleaned your apron from the wine stains.
“Now be on your way, mention to no one of our conversation today.”
“Yes, your highness, of course,” You replied, bowing before leaving the room. The rest of the day you felt as though you were walking on air. King Loki seemed to favor you!
The next morning, you hurried to the servants washroom before dawn. When you returned to your room you saw a small box on the bed. Opening it you gasped as you saw a beautiful, delicate, gold & emerald necklace, far more expensive than you or any other servant could ever afford. You had no doubt it was from Loki, however, you had a decision to make. Would you wear your servant's gown with the open neck so you could display the necklace for all to see? Or would you wear the high necked one and leave the necklace under the layers so as to avoid questioning as to where it came from?
What will you do?
Wear the necklace proudly?
You quickly put the necklace on, fastening the clasp and admiring how it looks on you. You slipped on your open necked gown and hurried to the King’s room. On your way there, though, the head maid stopped you. “Where do you think you’re going?” She nearly yelled. “Your assignment is on the other side of the palace!”
“I was told to report to the king this morning!” You exclaim. She shook her head and forcefully grabbed your arm, pulling you away.
“Tramp,” She muttered. “Where did you even get that necklace! You must have stolen it since you could never afford that on the pittance you’re given! You don’t even deserve that much!”
"I will decide what she does and does not deserve," A deep voice said from behind you. Turning around immediately, you both bowed.
"My king!" She exclaimed. "I was simply trying to keep a worthless maid from entering your quarters unbidden!"
"Worthless? Unbidden?" He replied, shocked. Turning to you he asked, "Did you inform her why you were making your way to my quarters?"
"Yes, my king," You whispered. He shook his head, tutting at her.
"And what do you think may happen if you were to prevent the King's handmaiden from completing her assignment?"
"I would never!" She exclaimed. He frowned, glaring at her harshly.
"But you already have!" The head maid looked between you and Loki frantically.
"My lord, my deepest apologies! But she is a thief! Look at her necklace! She is but a maid! How could she have-"
"Are you assuming again?" He yelled. The head maid at this point was nearly shaking in terror. You, however, found yourself both terrified and absolutely turned on. "Do you not know your king is a generous king? Who cares for everyone under his command and gives as he pleases?"
"Yes, my king. Of course," she replied immediately. Loki pulled you to his side, wrapping his arm around you protectively.
"Now I have been generous enough to you with my time and patience. You will spend 1 week in the dungeons so you may reflect undisturbed on your treatment of others."
"Only a week? My king you certainly are generous. Thank you," She said, bowing.
"Guard!" He called out, summoning one of the palace guards. "Take her to the maid's quarters so she may make arrangements for the chores this week and then escort this woman to the dungeons."
"As you say, my lord," The guard replied.
Once they left you looked up at Loki and smiled softly. "Thank you, my King," You said. Loki smiled back and nodded.
"You're quite welcome," He replied. "Now come with me, I want to show you your duties." You fell into step just behind him but he stopped and turned to you. "You may walk beside me," He said. "After all, you are my personal servant. I must be able to speak with you easily."
"Oh," You said, surprised. "Okay." He took you back to his quarters and you marveled at all he had there. There were so many bookshelves with stories from all across the Nine Realms, a large bed with the most comfortable looking sheets, not to mention the windows, balcony, and view. "Oh my!" You gasped. "This is beautiful!"
"I thought you would like it," Loki grinned. "Tell me, have you had the chance to do much reading from the libraries?"
"Well," You said nervously. "I only had basic schooling before I began working as a maid," You explained. "But, admittedly, I did sneak a book out from the library once to read."
"Oh really?" Loki asked, raising an eyebrow at you.
"I swear I put it back!" You immediately replied.
"I hadn't even given that a thought," He replied. "I trust you. Would you like to read more? Learn more about Asgard and the rest of the realms?"
"Absolutely!" You exclaimed. He chuckled and nodded.
"Well then," He said. "I have an assignment for you in addition to your regular duties for me. Every day, we will spend 1 hour reading. If I am not available, read by yourself and then ask me whatever questions you have later. What do you think?"
"I-yes! But why?"
"You intrigue me. And I want to help you. You can go places, but you need a little helping hand to get started."
"Really?" You ask, surprised. Loki smiles at you and nods.
"Shall we start now?" You grin and he grabs one of his favorite books off the shelf. For the next hour, he had you read to him, explaining the more difficult words to you.
As the weeks progressed, you noticed a marked change in your understanding and reading level. However, this particular week, you were feeling quite under the weather. Not wanting to disappoint Loki, you still reported to him that morning. He was in a rush for some meeting, but promised to be back for your reading time. After a few hours of work, you were simply too exhausted to do any more. Figuring Loki wouldn’t be back for another few hours, you decided to take a nap on his bed for a bit. It had always looked so comfortable. Just long enough to get some energy back would be fine.
“Y/N? Y’/n, darling, wake up,” A voice whispered to you. Opening your eyes you let out a rather high-pitched squeak of surprise, seeing Loki sitting on the edge of the bed next to you.
“Loki! I’m so sorry!” You exclaimed. “I didn’t mean to-”
“Hush,” He said, interrupting you. “Are you feeling well?” He asked genuinely. You shook your head and he hummed in reply. “I thought as much.” He got up on the bed next to you, sitting up, leaning on the headboard. The book the two of you had been reading appeared in his hand. “Let me read to you today,” He said. You stared at him once again in surprise.
“Okay,” You nodded. He smiled and was about to begin when he saw how you were rather uncomfortably propping yourself up to watch him.
“That cannot be comfortable,” He commented. You chuckled and shook your head.
“But I want to see you!” He rolled his eyes slightly, pulled a pillow in his lap, and patted it.
“Then you can rest your head here instead,” He stated plainly.
What will you do?

[“Do you want me to help you get out of here?”]
🖐️ pause this is a part of a choose your own adventure. If you just found this you can start from the beginning here.
Written by: @likeitloveitblogit
Pairing: Loki x Reader.
Summary: Seeing Loki hiding under your desk stirs something inside you and you offer him help. But once you're out of the tower where will you go?
Word Count: 1.1k
Warning: very brief mentions of bullying and post trauma
Looking down at Loki hiding under your desk. You can't help but be reminded of that little boy you had seen hiding under the teacher's desk. So you blurt out, "Do you want me to help you get out of here?”
Loki is completely caught off guard at first, but once your words register he asks "why would you do that? You don't even know me."
You decide that honesty is your best option, "No, I don't know you. But I know that look. The last person I saw with that look I ignored, and they ended up hurt. I don't think I can handle watching another person get hurt when I could have done something about it. And before you say that you're a big strong man who can defend himself, let me remind you that pain comes from more than just physical punches. We all need help sometimes."
"Okay"
"Ok?"
"Okay, yes. I would like for you to get me out of here. If that's even possible."
On your way in you noticed an exit leading away from the front, straight into the parking lot. It had struck you as silly that you'd had to walk all the way around the building just to end up so close to your car. Now you were glad for the luck, a plan forming in your mind.
You look down again and tell Loki "stay here I will be right back for you".
Leaving your purse at the desk, you head towards the front but as you're passing the desk you make a show of "realizing" you forgot your purse. You look back and forth between the front door and the back office, making sure to look extra frazzled. The guard watches you before he decides to ask, "is everything alright?"
"Oh sorry. It's been a long day," you tell him about your long morning, "and I left my purse back there and at this point I'm considering just leaving it. I don't know if I can handle walking all the way there and back."
"I know how that feels. Did you notice the door at the back of the office?"
"Yes."
"Well that leads straight into the parking lot, you can just head back grab your purse and be on your way."
"Won't you get in trouble for letting me use that exit?"
The guard winks at you and clicks a button as he says "Oh dear. The camera for that section seems not to be working. What a shame."
You wave "thank you so much" as you head back.
"Sure thing"
Once you reach the desk again, you're glad to see that Loki is exactly where you left him. Grabbing your stuff, you sneak Loki straight to your car. As you turn out of the parking lot, you ask Loki "So where do you want to go?"
"I must confess I did not believe it was possible I would be free from that place. I'm impressed with your mischief skills. Although I've been here for a considerable amount of time I cannot say I have somewhere that I feel comfortable to go to."
Loki stares out at the city as you continue to drive aimlessly. Yet again you are struck by a need to comfort this strange man. How could someone live with so many heroes and not feel comfortable, not feel safe?
"Well we probably should go somewhere you won't be noticed so…?"
"Again I do not know where that would be. Perhaps you should just drive me back. It was lovely enough to get out for a moment."
"Nonsense. How about I take you back to my apartment? I could cook you dinner." Suddenly you're not sure if you sound stupid "If that's ok with you?"
You forget that fear for a moment as Loki grins a genuine warm smile at you "That would be wonderful"
-
Once you arrive at your apartment, you feel even more self conscious. Your apartment feels so small and cluttered, nothing like the modern Avengers Tower. Or the grand palaces he must have had at home. But then you notice Loki, and the way that he seemed to relax as soon as he walked through your door.
"You have a lovely home." Loki wanders about noticing the little things that you've chosen to fill your home with. Picking up an item here or there to ask you about it.
You walk into the kitchen to look at what food you have to cook. When you step back to ask Loki if he's ok with pasta, catch sight of your cat Mittens. Before you can warn Loki, Mittens run full speed towards Loki. You're afraid that Mittens will attack, so you chase after. But to your surprise Mittens simply bops Loki's legs and waits patiently for pets.
"Oh, hello there kitty, what is your name?"
You cannot stop smiling watching this literally god, crouch down to pet your cat. But you manage to answer "that's mittens," before you slip away to cook dinner.
As you're eating, the two of you talk. The conversation varies from little things like favorites: colors, books, seasons. To bigger things like your childhoods, or your hopes for the future. It somehow feels right talking with Loki. The conversations just flow together and you quickly lose track of time.
Eventually Loki looks at you and asks "Why are you doing this? I tried to destroy your world. I'm a monster. And now you're welcoming me into your home? Cooking for me?"
"Loki, that was the past. You've been helping save the world for years now and I think it's time someone said thank you for that. And it doesn't hurt that you're the best dinner guest I've had in a long time."
"It was not that far in the past. Honestly I'm still a monster."
"Are you telling me that you're planning on taking over the world again? Or that you have some evil plan at work?"
"No but there are things you don't know about me. Things about who I am. Where I come from."
"That might be true but I think actions speak louder than words. And your actions over the last few years have been nothing but honorable. And whatever you think is hidden in your nature, is only a part of you. Plus Mittens loves you" you point to your cat that is curled in Loki's lap purring, "and animals are the best judges of character."
After making the meal last as long as possible. And Loki taking the time to help you clean up, you and Loki get in the car so you can drive him back to the tower. But you find yourself not wanting him to go.
What do you do?
Choices:
Ignore the feeling and drive him back. (Chapter coming soon, comment below if you want to be tagged when this chapter is released.)
Ask him, do you want to see my favorite place? (Chapter coming soon, comment below if you want to be tagged when this chapter is released.)

[It was your first day as a maid for the king.]
Written by: @high-functioning-lokipath
Pairing: King!Loki x Servant!Reader. Not romantic yet.
Word Count: 855
Warnings: Loki is a bit harsh but understandably upset for the context. He is nevertheless kind with the reader so...I'm just mentioning it here to be safe 👍❤️
So much had changed for Asgard in the past few months. Odin had died, Thor abdicated his kingship in favor of joining the Avengers, and Loki, rather reluctantly, became the new king instead. You had been recently promoted to be a handmaiden for the king. When Odin died, you were temporarily reassigned back to your previous job of cleaning the palace.
One day, early in the morning, as you were cleaning the halls near the throne room, you heard a commotion. Leaving your bucket beside one of the large columns, you went to investigate. “Norns! Did he truly think me stupid?” You heard someone yell. There was a loud crash of something being thrown over before he yelled again. “I never wanted this title, I never asked for this title! I just-” Unfortunately, at that moment, you yourself accidentally knocked something over. “Who goes there?” He called out. “Reveal yourself!” You walked into the throne room and nearly cried at seeing who you’d interrupted. None other than the new king himself.
“Y/N,” You called out nervously. “I am a maid in the palace, my king,” You said. You knew that a blunder like this could cost you your position in the palace and certainly you would never receive back your job as the king’s handmaiden.
“What did you hear?” He inquired. You bit your lip nervously, trying to come up with the least offensive answer. Seeing the tray on the floor you ran over to it started cleaning up the food and wine that had spilled.
“I heard a crash, your highness,” You said, kneeling and not looking back up at him. You righted the tray and collected the dishes on it. The spilled wine you mopped up with your apron. You heard footsteps and saw his large boots in front of you. Slowly, you sat back on your heels and looked up at him.
“And what more?” He demanded. “Do not forget I am the God of Mischief but also of Lies. I know you are omitting something.” You nodded shakily and looked down again ashamed.
“You were upset, you do not wish for the throne.”
“Excellent memory,” He replied. “Now why is it so dangerous for you to have heard this? I’m sure you can figure it out. You are not a stupid maid,” He said. You nodded again.
“If one were to know the king does not want the throne, his subjects would see him as disinterested and easy to overthrow.” Loki hummed in reply, walking around you slowly.
“You are smart,” He praised. “Tell me, do you think that yourself, little one?”
“No!” You exclaimed, standing quickly. He raised an eyebrow at you and you blushed brightly in embarrassment. “You may not be-” You paused, searching for the right word. “Overly enthusiastic about the situation. But if you truly didn’t care you wouldn’t be here. I-I know of Prince Thor’s invitation.”
“How did you find that out?” He hissed, grabbing your arm.
“I was the handmaiden to the Allfather briefly before-” You trailed off, shaking your head. “I heard. I promise I have told no one, my king!” You cried. He nodded and let you go.
“I believe you,” He said. "Apologies if I hurt you," He added, rubbing your arm gently. You blushed and shook your head.
"I'm fine," You assured him. Loki nodded turned away, deep in thought. You gathered the dishes and tray and carried them to the doorway.
“Have you any more need for me, your highness?” You asked quietly.
“Oh, yes,” He said, walking over to you. “Was there any reason you were not immediately assigned to me?”
“I don’t know of any reason. I was told that there were too many details being worked out surrounding your coronation and therefore my reassignment would be postponed.”
“I see,” Loki nodded. After pausing for a moment, he gave you a small smile. “Report to me in the morning. I will have you reassigned right away.”
“Oh, oh!

The rain continued to pour hard throughout the city. You held onto your stomach, noticing the blood continuing to pool from the opened wound. Your comms unit had been ultimately destroyed, giving you no way to contact Steve or Tony. Neither of the two men had any idea that you were in trouble, or bleeding out for that matter. You told yourself you should’ve grabbed your phone on the way out of the tower, but told yourself you wouldn’t need it.
You had two options. Either you could stumble your way into the emergency room, which was probably the best option although it was farther, or saunter your way to him. He was closer and that was the route you ultimately took, noting the edge of the street insight that gave you the confirmation you were close. Your vision had already begun to blur and everything around you was foggy. You weren’t sure if anyone had started to look for you, either.
But what did it matter? At this rate and the amount of pain you were in, you were mere minutes away from rushing into the bright light everyone said to not go into. Making your way up the doorsteps, you couldn’t even knock. You fell forward, the weight of your body crashing against his front door. You heard the sounds of rustling emerge from behind the door and seconds later, he pulled it open, only to have your body fall at his feet.
Loki Laufeyson. The once sworn enemy of the Avengers, Thor’s hot adoptive brother, the secret love of your life, such a secret that Loki didn’t even know. The two of you had made yourselves acquainted after the events of New York and you somehow managed to convince Thor to take you to Asgard. He was suspicious, he always was. He was confused on why you wanted to spend so much time with his mischievous brother until it clicked in his head.
“YOU LOVE MY BROTHER?!” He screamed at you, making you rush forward and cover his mouth.
“Shut your mouth, you idiot! No one is supposed to know!” You reprimanded him by grasping his blonde locks. “And if you dare tell anyone… if your damn brother finds out, I’m cutting your hair off myself!” You hissed, pulling the sharp blade from your pocket. Thor’s blue orbs glistened in utter fear and he nodded his head.
“Not my precious hair! Please, no!” He squealed in your grip. You released him with a hard sigh.
“Then don’t say anything.”
You blinked, noticing your face had met the hard surface of the ground.
“Darling?!” Loki immediately called out and hurried to pick you up off the ground. He hoisted you into his arms, whisking you over to the couch where he laid you down, his eyes scanning your stomach where your bloody hands sat. “What happened to you?!” He exclaimed, pulling your hands away to see the blood oozing from the wound.
“You know how they say to never bring a knife to a gunfight?” You coughed with a sly, painful smirk. Loki watched you, his eyebrows knitting. “I was the idiot who brought the knife.” You raised your hand, groaning at the surge of pain flashing through your body.
“Am I gonna die?” You asked Loki with a cough who immediately shook his head. Ripping your gear off, you stared up at the ceiling, your voice hoarse from the screaming you had done prior. Loki tore off the t-shirt you wore, leaving you in your bra. He examined the wound, noting the silver bullet that protruded from the wound.
“You’re in luck, darling,” He sighed. Reaching out, he gently grasped the bullet and pulled it out, making you scream in pain. “It wasn't lodged completely inside.”
You cried out and gripped his arm. Your face was all scratched up, blood pooling from a cut above your eye. Your bottom lip was busted, your arms had bruises covering them, but your main issue was the bullethole. Thankfully it didn’t enter your body completely, but it did enough damage to send you into a panicked state.
“Can you like, I don’t know,” You groaned. “Snap your fingers and use magic to make it go away?” You looked up at him. He chuckled, shaking his head.
“No, darling, you’re going to heal naturally.” He sighed, disappearing before returning with the first aid kit.
“Mischief has first aid?” You gasped, Loki glaring at you.
His eyes searched yours. “Once I had a woman begin stumbling herself onto my doorstep… I invested.” He expressed with a small sigh.
This wasn’t the first time you had come to Loki hurt. He’s had to mend your wounds several times, just not as severe as a bullet to the stomach.
As you laid there, you felt as he began applying the cleaning solution for your wounds, dressing them and all. While he took care of you and patched you up, you were coming awfully close to spilling your heart out to him right then and there. Although you had an obvious feeling he knew how you felt, based on the premise you were a hardcore flirt and he gave into it, he never made an advance to you.
“Do you like me?” You suddenly questioned, Loki wrapping the bandage around your waist. Your ribs were starting to throb now.
Loki scoffed. “What kind of question is that, love?” He used his soft tone on you, his voice melting against your eardrums.
You shrugged, but winced upon doing so.
“Just asking…” You sighed. Loki noticed the cut on your eye and he began grabbing supplies to tend to it. Dabbing the saline solution over the cut, his face came close to yours. He leaned forward, positioning himself so he was propped against the couch, while he dabbed at the cut.
He looked so inviting.
In one simple sweep, you could brush your lips against his.
But what if he didn’t like you in that way?
Do you:
A. Kiss him
B. Don’t kiss him and hold your feelings back for fear of rejection?

[ I do?... (Based on Getaway Car by Taylor Swift)]
Written By: @immersed-in-mischief
Pairing: Loki x Female Reader (Bride)
Word Count: 1.4k
Warnings: drinking, anxiety, other than that it’s fluffy 😊
Loki was trying to enjoy his drink at the end of the bar when the sound of swooshing fabric continued to distract him. He had been trying to get the woman’s attention at the other end of the hotel bar. Just as she looked his direction finally, the swooshing returned directly behind him. He frustratedly downed the drink in his hand and pushed himself away from the bar.
As soon as he stepped around the corner to confront the person making so much noise, his eyes settled on a billowing pile of white. The noise he had heard was a bride in a magnificent wedding gown and veil pacing back and forth down the hallway. As she turned around to make the return trek, he saw her face. Even though it was full of worry and anxiety, she was gorgeous.
You weren’t sure how long you had been pacing outside of the event hall where all your guests were impatiently seated. All you could think about was the feeling like you were being pulled under water. Through the entire process of planning this wedding, you had a knot in your stomach. It had begun to form the night he proposed to you. He came from a great family. He had plenty of money to support you. The two of you had been together since the beginning of college. He was a great catch. Right? You should have been happy. This was your wedding day!
Just as it became difficult to breathe, you saw a pair of black dress pants and dress shoes come into your line of sight. It was him. He had come to find you and you had to face him now. Taking a deep breath, you slowly looked up at him. Instead of the face of your groom, you were met with a pair of hypnotizing eyes and long jet-black hair. His hand came up to your cheek as he stared down at you.
“Are you alright, Love?”
He was a complete stranger, yet the sultry melody of his voice somehow calmed you. When you didn’t answer him, he took your hand and pulled you along with him into the room a few feet away.
“Come. You look like you could use a drink.”
Loki slid into a booth in the corner instead of returning to his position at the bar. He was pleased to see you take the seat across from him, even if your dress barely allowed it. The sight in front of him was comical to say the least. With the veil bunched up around your shoulders and the gown taking up every square inch of space around you, it appeared that it was swallowing you alive like a blob-like creature he had seen in an older Midgardian film a few years ago. The waitress appeared to take your drink order and gave the two of you a smirk.
“Well, I guess congratulations are in order! Drinks are on the house tonight for the newlyweds.”
Before you could respond, Loki reached out and took your hand.
“Looks like we are starting our honeymoon in style, Darling. What will you have?”
You gave him a slight grin and kept the charade going.
“Old fashioned, please.”
Loki turned his attention to the woman next to you while bringing you hand up to his lips.
“Make that two, please, as well as two shots of your finest whiskey for the Mrs. And I.”
When she walked away, you let out a quiet laugh and let yourself relax a little more. She quickly returned with the shots while the bartender was making your drinks. Loki watched as you downed the shot with ease. He was even more intrigued. After following suit, he set the now empty shot glass back on the table.
“If you want to talk about it, pet, I’m a great listener. If not, I’m an even better distraction.”
The wink he gave you brought a warmth to your cheeks. Just as you went to respond, the waitress returned with your drinks and another round of shots. Giving him a smirk, you reached out and quickly consumed your second shot.
“I always assumed cold feet was something people just joked about. Is it still considered cold feet if you feel like your life is ending? Obviously, I knew this day was coming but for some reason, I woke up this morning and felt like each minute that passed was a countdown before a bomb detonated. I left the room to head downstairs and for some reason, I couldn’t open the door and just walk inside...”
He sat back and watched you unload all your thoughts and feelings onto him. It was obvious that you just needed to get it all off your chest, so he patiently sipped on his drink and simply listened.
“… I mean that’s what you are supposed to do, right? That’s just what you do! You date someone and after a few years, you get married. I just feel like one morning I’m going to wake up next to him and realize that it was all a mistake, and it will be too late. Of course, I love him… at least I think I do. He’s a great guy and he treats me well. I just always thought you were supposed to get this over-the-top feeling when you want to spend your life with someone. You get fireworks when you kiss, and they are all you think about. Is that what love feels like? Can it still be love if it’s safe and secure? I always thought that my wedding day would feel like the first day of the rest of my life, not the end of it…”
Loki got the bartender’s attention and held up the empty shot glass for another round. When the waitress brought them over, he whispered to her as you continued to talk at him.
“Let’s keep these coming.”
When you took a break to lift the shot to your lips, he slid his over to you with a smile.
“No wonder you were pacing the pattern out of the carpet. Sounds like a lot of pressure on your shoulders.”
Finally taking a moment to breathe, you looked up at him with a look of embarrassment.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to just throw all of that at you like that. It just feels like all my friends and family love him, and I’ve just told myself that it was just pre wedding jitters, and it would be fine once the day came. “
You watched as he seemed to carefully choose his next words. With a sigh, he reached across the table and took your hands into his.
“Kitten, I don’t exactly have experience in the subject, but I’m pretty sure brides are usually excited for their wedding day, not terrified of it. You have every right to feel whatever you feel. This is your day. You need to do whatever is best for you. Don’t worry about what anyone else thinks.”
Loki watched you take a deep breath as relief washed over your features. It could have also been the three shots you had already done. As the alcohol continued to flow, the subject shifted to small talk and getting to know each other a little better. It was nice to just have the company from each other as well. Neither of you kept up with how much time had passed or exactly how many rounds of shot were consumed. The stranger in front of you had you laughing harder than you had in a long time.
Loki watched the color drain from your face as you stared at something behind him. When he turned to look over his shoulder, there was a gentleman in an expensive black and white tuxedo with a red rose in his lapel. The angry man quickly glanced around the bar before his eyes locked onto the woman seated across from him.
He found the groom that belonged to the missing bride. Loki turned back to you with a mischievous smirk and produced a set of car keys from his jacket pocket.
“Shall we?”
Choices:
Make a run for the getaway car with Loki
Or
Thank him for the chat and leave with the groom

[You take a temporary position at Avengers Tower]

Summary: You're surprised when it turns out your new temp assignment is at Avengers Tower. You're even more surprised with who you meet on the job.
Word Count: 1.3k
Warning: mention of bullying
You need the money. You need the money. You need the money. This was the mantra that you had started repeating to yourself every morning as you drove to the temp agency where you had been working for the last few months. Well technically you never knew exactly where you would be working that day, but the agency was where you went and collected your assignment. You prayed this time it wouldn’t be another substitute teaching position. The school board had proper educated substitutes for long term or planned absences. But for last minute situations they hired out anyone they could find from one of the local temp agencies.
You could not understand how someone would ever choose to be a teacher. And maybe it was better for full time qualified educators, but as soon as you walked into a classroom the students turned into little goblins. Those days had to be the most difficult, they were the days you almost considered going back to retail. Almost. The office jobs you didn’t mind, they were mind numbingly boring, but they were easy and typically paid the best. Your favorite by far though was when you were able to snag a spot reshelving books at one of the public libraries. It was laid back and the librarians usually let you sit around and read if there was extra time.
The way it worked at this particular agency was that jobs became available at 5 am each morning. Anyone interested in taking a job for the day would go in, pick an assignment and then head out to that location. If you were the first one to get there you would get the first pick of the assignments. Normally you did everything in your power to be the very first through the door, it had served you well. But today was not going to plan at all. Your phone had gotten unplugged and died overnight, so your alarm didn’t go off. And then your car didn’t want to start. And then because you didn’t leave on time, you hit the worst rush hour traffic. Standard construction. Plus some kind of clean up from whatever alien invasion Avenger fight had taken place over the weekend.
By the time you arrived at the office it was already past 9 am and you wished you had just stayed in bed. Chances were there wasn’t even going to be any assignments left, and if there was they would be bottom of the barrel bad. But you were nothing if not stubborn, and you had already driven all this way. Maybe a library regular had called in sick last minute and you could have a relaxing day surrounded by books. So you lifted your head off of the steering wheel and headed inside to see just how bad the damage would be. You threw in a final “I need the money” for luck and walked through the door.
Immediately you were greeted by Candace, the manager incharge of hiring out the temp positions. “Oh thank God, you have no idea how happy I am to see you.” She walked quickly moving towards her office, expecting you to follow as she spoke. “None of the other hires with a completed background check decided to show up today.”
Background check? Great, you knew what that meant.
“What school am I going to today? Is it at least a science class where I can just turn on Bill Nye?”
“School? Oh no. This for a new client. Some kind of big tech company.” She finally found the assignment form she had been looking for under her coffee mug, the name of the company was completely unreadable under a coffee stain. “You're going to need to hurry. They were expecting someone to be there at 9 am sharp.”
“Uh, okay? What kind of assignment is it? You said tech, I’m not really a tech person”
“It’s nothing fancy. Just some data entry, maybe some file management. Please help me with this. I really need to land this client, and you are by far my best hire.”
“Alright. Leave it to be. I will charm their pants off and they’ll be begging for you to send more temps”
“Oh thank you dear. Knew that I could count on you. Hurry along now.” She shooed you out of the door.
You plugged the address into your phone’s GPS and headed off. As you turned the final corner you understood why you had needed a background check to temp for a tech company. The address was Stark Tower, or as it was known in recent years Avengers Tower. You were going to be working in the same building as the Avengers! You quickly found parking, hurried in apologizing for your tardiness. After signing multiple NDAs and passing a security screening you were lead a pretty normal looking office area, and handed a stack of forms to enter into their system, organize and then file away. Turned out that despite the novelty of the location it was still the same boring paperwork stuff as every other office assignment you’d taken.
You found yourself zoning out.
That was until a certain trickster god came running in, calling "hide me" before diving under your desk. Your brain went into full on panic mode. There was a stranger, a handsome stranger, but a terrifying stranger hiding under your desk. Mere inches from your body.
You had watched the attack on New York and seen Loki standing on top of this very tower watching as the city burned. You should be screaming in terror and running away. But looking at Loki crotched there, he didn’t seem like the same villain. He seemed almost small. You had seen that look before, during one of those dreaded substitute assignments at a middle school. You had found a small boy hiding under the teacher’s desk. The boy had looked terrified as he said “Don’t let them find me.” You told him he could stay until class was over but he still needed to attend his other classes for the day. As soon as he’d left that room, the bullies grabbed him. If you were honest that day was a big part of what made you truly hate taking those substitute assignments.
You were lifted from your thoughts when another man came storming into the room, this time you recognized him as none other than Captain American.
"Have you seen a man come running through here?"
Your brain stalled for a moment unsure what to do, "What kind of man? Anything recognizable about this man you're looking for?"
"Well actually I'm looking for Loki. The guy from the attack on New York."
You risked a brief glance down at Loki before you decided that you weren’t about to let a bully find the boy this time. "Do you think I'd be standing here calmly doing my temp work if the Loki of Asgard had just run through here?"
"Um, no. I'm sorry for disturbing you. Have a nice day."
Steve paused a moment longer looking at you, before he turned on his heels and headed out of the office space.
Once Steve was out of sight you leaned down to look at Loki, "You can come out now. Steve is gone."
"Thank you for not alerting Captain Rogers to my presence. I owe you. I'll be leaving now.
You weren’t sure why, but you didn’t want him to leave. "Are you headed somewhere specific? Or just hiding from the Avengers?"
"Honestly just trying to avoid those annoying mortal overachievers. They expect me to do exactly as they say at every moment. But then even when I do they act as if I will betray them at any moment."
Without giving it a second thought you look down at the god hiding under your desk and say:
Decision Time:
[ "You know you're welcome to stay here. It would be the safest place for you to hide since they think they've already cleared the area."]
Or
[“Do you want me to help you get out of here?”]
