"I dream it, I work hard, I grind 'til I own it!" ~@Beyonce What a Good Friday it is! After much prayer and hard work, I closed on my first home in D.C. today! I wouldn't be here without the love and grace of my Lord and Savior! I had dreams, but His plans for me were even bigger than I could imagine. I also have to show love to my amazing realtor and good friend @EricaAkpan of @KellerWilliamsRealty. She has worked so hard to get me to this closing table ahead of schedule. A special shout out to my lender Dawn Cree-Mosby and Kim Bunn of the @gwul365 who processes HPAP loans. These ladies did not let this train slow down, and I am so appreciative if their persistence. It was an honor and a pleasure to attend AU NAACP's inaugural Image Awards last night. Members of the AU Black Alumni Alliance and Alumni Board were nominated and honored for their work around campus. Congrats to our very own LaTanya Sothern for being honored as the Alumni Mentor of the Year, as well as our beloved Belinda Peter from the Alumni Relations Office for being recognized as a Staff Memeber of the Year. The students did an amazing job coordinating this event. The energy, love, and sense of community in the room was magical.
