A brief idea of how law as a career in India can be practiced.
Career Counseling for Law Students.
Law as a career is a one very adventurous. It demands a lot from you and surely not a “bed of roses.”
Normally, a student who gets into a law college aims to be a practicing lawyer but I call it as a hypothesis which a few of them prove it right.
The law field has a lot to offer. It can be divided into two parts;
1) Litigation, and
2) Non-litigation.
1) Litigation- It means to practice in Courts. Practice means to go and argue before the hon'ble courts for your clients. This also includes Drafting various Suits, Petitions, Notices, Following court’s procedure, etc.
2) Non-litigation- It just covers drafting part. Non-litigation means to do “out of court work” i.e draft agreements, Deeds, Notices, affidavits, Tender legal advices, etc. Any legal work done outside the court can be called as non-litigation.
This is just a short description to give a basic idea about litigation and non-litigation work done by lawyers.
