Hi
200mph is so amazing
Can u tell me how many chapters are this serie?
Also when u gonna post next one? 😬
And Hope u have a good day
hi lovie, thank you so much🥺 i’m glad you’re enjoying it, and i don’t actually have a set amount of chapters for this series🫣 i have a story line and everything set out but i like to write until i feel like it’s a good place to leave off for the next part, i don’t wanna set a number for myself to try to obtain because i feel like that might take the fun out of writing☹️ i started my job back in september and have been backed up since, so although i don’t have a set date in mind i definitely did not forget about 200mph and part six is currently sitting in my drafts with content inside🤗🤗🩷

Was Jungkook dreaming, or did he just kiss you?
Not only did he kiss you, but you kissed him back! You were a blushing mess, but he loved it, loved the way you looked so content with him, so happy with him.
Oh, he definitely felt like the man now.
As he walked back to the house, he couldn't help but curve his lips into a small smile, bringing the tips of his fingers up to his lips, remembering yet missing your soft, gentle touch. He wished he could feel you more often.
Some time ago, he wasn't quite sure what he wanted, in terms of a relationship, with you, just friends, maybe even friends with benefits? He knew he started to gain feelings for you, fast, but also thought you saw him as nothing but a horndog, a fuckboy as Jimin would say.
Thank god he was wrong.
You were such a sweet person, and seemed genuinely interested in him the same way he felt for you. Hell, you wouldn’t have kissed him back if you didn’t.
He couldn't rush into things though, couldn't bring you too deep in his world just yet. As much as he wanted to, there was a lot more about his street racing than you were aware of, a lot more danger that he didn't want to put upon you. Was it fair to be selfish, to put this upon you because he couldn’t seem to turn away? Not really, but then again, he wouldn’t be questioning himself if he didnt think things would become serious with you two.
He'd have to save that conversation for a later date.
Making his way up the unkept front lawn, he noticed most of the frat house lights were still in use on the first floor, meaning almost everyone was still up. So much for trying to get decent sleep tonight, he thought.
Nonetheless, Jungkook greeted them all with waves when he stepped foot through the door, quickly heading upstairs and turning into the bathroom. He stared at himself in the mirror and brushed his hair back, letting out a sigh of relief as he rested his elbows on the counter.
“I kissed Y/n. I kissed Y/n.”
He then started to worry, panic. What does he do now? Should he text you? Would you think he was being clingy?
“Fuck,” he mumbled to himself, rubbing his forehead.
The night ended so fast and of course he wanted to come in, spend more time with you, but he can't. At least not yet. Deciding it wouldn't hurt to text you, he sent a simple message.
kook: Had a great time tonight, would love to see that pretty smile again soon. Goodnight, Y/n.
Surprisingly enough, you had messaged him back within seconds.
you: dw, i’m sure you will!! :)) sweet dreams kook xx
Sweet dreams indeed, especially with his mind full of nothing but you. Your eyes were so pretty, millions of stars shining through them. And your smile, fuck your smile was so gorgeous. Your lips, just so kissable. He was in way too deep.
Shutting the lights off, he slowly made his way to his bedroom. Spotting the smaller man across the room laying on his bed reading, he chose to ignore him. That is, until said man spoke up first, dropping his book onto his lap.
“Hey! We were all wondering where you were earlier? Thought it was weird for you to miss a party, and not even tell us.”
Jungkook scoffed quietly at him, rummaging through his drawer looking for a pair of sweat shorts. “Can't a guy go out for a night without everyone up my ass about it?”
Jimin's words were muffled slightly behind the closet door as Jungkook changed. “Just seemed odd. For you to miss stuff like that.. I mean.”
“Who's to say I wasn't having a good time elsewhere, huh?” He smirked at Jimin once he came back into their shared room, taking off his shirt and throwing it across the room and into his overflowing hamper.
“Because she'd be in here with you right now, and I would've had to find another bed to sleep in.” Jimin said quietly, shoving his face back into his large book.
If only Jimin knew who that girl could've been, unknowingly talking about his best friend and the idea of her sleeping with his roommate. But if that's the way he talks about Jungkook with the people he brings over, all hell will break loose if he actually did find you in Jungkook's bed.
He slipped under the covers, turning back to Jimin one last time for the night. “Joke's on you, I'm not like that anymore. You could say I've turned over a new leaf,” he laughs.
“I'll believe it when I see it.”

“Oh my god,” you whispered to yourself in disbelief, leaning against the door to your dorm as it closed shut. You stood there without moving, frozen and in shock.
Jungkook kissed you. And you kissed him back!
You walked over to the bathroom, checking your appearance in the mirror. You noticed your lips were faintly swollen, sporting a slightly darker red hue on them, similarly to your blushed cheeks. Hopefully Jungkook payed more attention to your lips and didn’t notice some of the mascara that was on your under eyes.
Speaking of him, why didn’t you invite him inside! Yes, you’d been moving fairly fast, but it was very obvious that the both of you feel something with each other, way more than a friendship. Would he have said yes though, would you have been disappointed if he would have said no?
You would’ve made sure the two of you didn’t go any further than kissing, but it would’ve been difficult to hold back the lust you have for him. The man was beautiful, it would’ve been difficult for anyone to keep their hands off of him.
The buzz of your phone on top of the sink broke you out of your deep train of thought. It’s almost as if he knew you were thinking about him. Picking up the small device, you smiled at his message, feeling heat rise to your cheeks.
kook: Had a great time tonight, would love to see that pretty smile again soon. Goodnight, Y/n.
Geez, if he didn’t have you wrapped around his finger before, he certainly does now.
This was a different feeling for you, getting all giddy over a simple text message. Of course, you immediately texted him back, making sure you messaged came across as cute as possible.
you: dw, i’m sure you will!! :)) sweet dreams kook xx
Fuck you wanted something more with him.
How could Jimin say such awful things about Jungkook? Maybe it’s because they’re roommates, and he has to deal with him way more than anyone else? Or was there something that Jimin knew and you didn’t?
It confused you, but you couldn’t ask him about it. If anything was going to happen with you and Jungkook, Jimin would have to be one of the last people to find out.
It hurt you a little bit, knowing that you couldn't ask Jimin for advice, since he'd been suspicious of you for a few days now, or anything about Jungkook in general.
You wanted to know more about his racing, what made him get into this kind of sport, how long he had been risking his life for, was he tied to anything else? You also wanted to know about him personally, who were his close friends, what were his relationships like with his family members? There was so much more, and yet the only person who could really give you the answers were Jungkook himself.
It also scared you that you would lose your friendship with Jimin. If he found out about you getting involved with Jungkook, what would he say, how would he feel, would he leave you? When you even mention Jungkook's name, you feel.. almost hatred coming from Jimin’s end, there had to have been deeper issues between the two of them that you weren’t aware of.
As much as Jimin claimed he "wanted to protect you," it just seemed like he could have been hiding something. But what though?
You rubbed your forehead, sleep getting the best of you after the long day you’ve had. No matter what happens, you know Jimin would never leave you like that, and if Jungkook truly felt a certain way towards you, he wouldn't either.
Just one step at a time, you thought.
♥︎⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁♥︎
The library was quiet, only a few students had been in and out while you’d been sitting here, tucked away lounging in one of the corners.
One of your afternoon classes had been cancelled, opening up a perfect spot to get some time in to study. It’s not like you wanted to study for your physics class, but there really wasn’t any other choice.
Thankfully, your phone buzzed, startling you from the sudden noise in the quiet room. A message from Jungkook appeared on your home screen.
kook: Are you free rn? I wanna see you for a little bit.
Thank god for him, physics would just have to wait.
you: yeah, i’m in the library. back corner by the windows
kook: Be there soon, pretty.
Not even five minutes later, Jungkook came jogging through the aisles of bookshelves, whispering “sorries” to the other students. A huge grin took over his face once he caught sight of you.
He began whispering to you, grabbing your hands and helping you up from the chair. “Lemme borrow you for a minute, you can leave your stuff here, I’ll bring you back.”
You weaved your fingers with his, looking up, admiring his side profile. “Is this your big plan to secretly murder me, getting me away from everyone?”
He stifled a laugh, “Yep, been plotting all day.”
He led you out of the library and down the hall a few feet. Opening the broom closet door slightly, he looked down the hall both ways, checking for anyone around before gently nudging you inside.
He shut the door behind him, turning on the light to the small boxed room. You noticed he seemed a little nervous, sweat coated his hairline and he was breathing slightly heavier than normal.
He took in a deep breath before letting out his troubles. “I wanted to do this in person, but I didn’t know when we’d see each other again and honestly I didn’t wanna wait any longer,” he let out a small laugh.
He brushed your hair out of your face, tucking it behind your ears as his hands made their way down to yours, locking your fingers together once again.
“From last night I think it’s easy to say we both have feelings for each other,” he said, looking down at his feet. “I was up all night thinking about you, about everything that I want there to be with us, and it scares me that things have been moving so fast but I just.. feel comfortable around you. I just don’t wanna continue to push for anything if you’re not ready.”
You quickly shook your head no, smiling up at him. “Trust me Kook, I feel the exact same. Last night kinda helped confirm everything for me.”
He brought his hands up to your jaw, cupping your cheeks gently, “I know you’re friends with Jimin and I’m sure he’s tried to persuade you away from me, but I can’t worry about that anymore, I can’t have people push me away from things in my life, from you.”
“Then don’t let them,” you whispered.
He quickly stole a glance at your lips, leaning forward slightly before the two of you met intimately once again.
His thumb moved slowly, lovingly, along your jawline, while hips lips kissed yours so gently. His other hand was around the back of your neck, pulling you closer into him.
You wrapped your arms loosely around his waist, moving your bottom lip, sucking on his slightly. Before things could get too heated, he pulled away, still keeping a close distance with you.
“Y/n, before I go crazy please.. please just tell me that you’ll be my girlfriend?”
He asked, his eyebrows barely pushed together as he raised them, a look of hope was painted across his pretty face. His chest rose and fell as he was breathing heavily, looking deep into your eyes.
Jungkook’s fingers continued to rub back and forth against your cheek gently, patiently waiting for you to answer his question. He was nervous, but also was confident in your answer.
You had to think, of course you wanted to be with Jungkook. That wasn’t even a question. No matter what Jimin had said, he didn’t know Jungkook like you did, he didn’t know how well he was treating you, how happy he made you feel, how loved he made you feel.
This wasn’t Jimin’s relationship, this was yours and Jungkook's. And you were willing to make things work with him, whether that would have consequences with other friendships or not.
Nobody is perfect, everyone is allowed to have flaws. Even though Jungkook seemed close to it, he wasn’t perfect either. You had done stupid things in your past, and if what Jimin had said was true, it wasn’t fair for you to hold that against Jungkook, it would’ve been so hypocritical of you.
Licking your lips, you gave the tall man a small smile as you soothingly ran your hands up and down his muscular back, in hopes to calm him down, comfort him even.
“Yes,” you whispered, lightly pecking his lips. “I'd love to be your girlfriend.”
And in that moment, you had never seen Jungkook look happier.

Your mind felt like a traffic jammed highway. There was so much to think about.
One minute you were basically a nobody, trying to blend yourself in with the crowd, and the next you’re suddenly inserting yourself deeper into Jungkook’s world.
Not that you didn’t want it that way, but it was definitely an odd couple pairing. And Jungkook seemed like a great guy, you were both just confused as to what was going on between the two of you. It was obvious there was something more than just a friendship, you would have to practically be blind to not see it, but it doesn’t mean either of you know how to act upon those particular feelings.
He became very consistent with his texts, apologizing with how busy he had been throughout the past week. You had planned on meeting at the same restaurant as before, but like clockwork, each day something would pop up for one of you and would end up cancelling the night. You would have loved to believe these were “unofficial dates” but you also didn’t want to seem like a creep.
Jimin took notice of you staring off at the wall, not answering anything he said. He thought something was bothering you for the past few days, but if that were the case you would eventually talk to him about it. He didn’t want to pry anything out of you, opting to switch the subject before your focus went back onto him.
“Y/n?” He snapped his fingers in front of your eyes, grabbing your attention.
“Sorry, I haven’t gotten much sleep recently.” It wasn’t a lie. You hadn’t been sleeping, too many thoughts of Jungkook crowded your mind, but you weren’t about to admit that.
“It’s okay, just was gonna ask if you wanted to order anything.” He mumbled, too busy scrolling on his phone.
“Uh yeah.. whatever works, you know I don’t mind.” You didn't mean to sound so defeated, but you could help all of your running thoughts.
Jimin angled his head up, concern written all over his face, but you knew he would never push you to tell him something. The two of you always just freely let the other know of anything that was bothering you, never asking about it. But maybe you should tell Jimin, he knows Jungkook! Plus, it could help clear your mind. You just weren’t going to mention where you guys met, not wanting to admit your lies to Jimin.
“Hey, so you know that friend of yours? I think his name is Jungkook, he’s really nice.” Jimin raised his eyebrows at that, what once was concern was disappearing and switching to what almost looked like anger.
“He’s not ‘really nice’ Y/n. He’s an asshole, most college guys are. Where’d you even see him?”
Fuck. You were going to have to lie, again.
“Just.. in the library. I was bored and recognized him from that night, remembered you two were friends, and just talked to him.. I guess.”
The sight of the two of you looked identical to an owner scolding their pet. You could feel the anger radiating off of Jimin as he looked down on you with furrowed eyebrows. He was about to snap.
“Yeah, we’re friends, but you don’t need to be involved with people like him, Y/n. He’s bad news.” Jimin rubbed his forehead, letting out a long, deep sigh. “Just try to stay away from him, neither of us want or need you to revert back to how you were last time.”
Although that was kind of a low blow to you, he did have a point. He's been along your side with every guy that has played with your feelings, eventually having to pick up their pieces of your broken heart himself. You couldn't blame him for not wanting you to go through those emotions again, especially with Jungkook, his roommate.
He tried his best to keep a straight face (clearly failing), but Jimin was pissed. You were his best friend, of course he didn’t want you to get hurt again by another lowlife guy. And Jimin also couldn’t understand why Jungkook didn't just listen when he said to leave you alone. He’s pretty much asking for trouble with him at this point.
“I gotta go, have to finish up some work. I’ll text you later tonight.” And with that, he up and left. No emotions were behind his words, he couldn't let anything out.
But you were so confused; why wasn’t he happy that two of his friends liked each other? It crossed your mind that maybe he thought he would be the third wheel, you’d have to talk to him later about that and assure him that would never happen. But for now, as much as Jimin wanted you to stay away from Jungkook, you just couldn’t bring yourself to do so. You were still hungry and there was a boy you knew couldn’t resist you, especially if you asked him to go out to dinner.
♥︎⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁♥︎
“Sorry for cancelling so much, stuff came up and I just got really busy—”
You reached your hand across the small oak table, softly interlocking your small fingers with his much larger ones. “It’s okay, you’re here now, right?”
He smiled towards you, a blush becoming more evident on his cheeks. “I’m glad you called though, I’ve been wanting to see you. Anything new happen with you?”
“Not really, homework, projects, essays, you know how it is. Same old, same old.” You got a laugh out of him.
“Yeah, not my favorite thing to do either.” He took a sip of his drink.
“How have the races been going? You don’t look too beaten down.” You picked at your salad, almost finishing your meal.
“Can’t win every week, that just wouldn’t be fair to anyone else now, would it?” He smirked at you, causing you to blush. God he’s so attractive. “I haven’t placed terribly, but I wish I would have done better a few of those weeks. It's hard to focus when there’s this girl I can’t stop thinking about.”
Your cheeks were so hot you knew you resembled a tomato. How could he say that so nonchalantly! “She’s lucky to have all your attention.”
“Yeah, the luckiest.”
It was difficult not to fall for Jungkook. He was so cute when he would get shy, but so sexy when he would say little things like that to flirt with you. His voice was soft and calming, and you could listen to him talk for hours. As crazy as it is, to you, he was perfect.
It bothered you why Jimin freaked out earlier. As far as you knew, they were good friends! Did something happen within the past couple of weeks between them?
You hated lying to Jimin, but you felt like you didn’t have a choice. If he wasn’t going to be supportive of yours and Jungkook’s friendship, or whatever was going on between the two of you, then the only thing you could do was lie. Someday you’ll come clean to him, but for now, you just wanted to feel out whatever was coming your way.
“You look lost in thought.” He said worryingly, swallowing a bite of his steak. “Anyone I need to set straight?”
You smiled at him, letting out a small laugh while shaking your head side to side. “No, it’s just been a long week, I’m trying not to stress over anything.”
“Well, I’m racing this Friday. If it’ll help you get away from all of the stress, I’d love for you to come.”
“Yeah, I’ll always be there if you want me there.” You knew you would be making more trips to these races. Now that you and Jungkook were getting closer, it was almost inevitable. At least you knew he wanted you there just as much as you wanted to be there.
“Get used to never having a free Friday night then.”
The waitress brought over the check but before you could even peek at the total, Jungkook had snatched the small leather booklet, flashing you a smirk. You would have offered to pay, but knowing Jungkook, that would have been a losing battle for you, even if you were offering the pay of your meal only.
“Let me walk you back. Don’t need any freaks getting to you.” He stood up from his seat, helping you gather your coat and purse.
You’ve walked back to the dorms alone at night many times before. Luckily, nobody has ever gone up to you, but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t happen, there were weird people who hide in those dark alleys. At least you had Jungkook here with you tonight.
Said gentleman held the restaurant door open for you, connecting your hands together as you embarked on the short walk through the city.
It was a beautiful night, mostly warm with a slight breeze. The weather had been absolutely miserable for a few days, and it was relaxing to have sunny days once again. There were flowers lining the sidewalk, various kinds and colors amongst them, as well as a few leaves from the trees.
You couldn’t help but smile as you felt Jungkook’s thumb soothingly rub the top of your palm. You gave his hand a small squeeze, looking up and meeting his eyes.
The two of you continued walking, hands swinging in between your bodies as he spoke up. “You don't mind me taking up your time, right?"
"Not at all, why?" The wind picked up, blowing a few strands of hair in your face.
"Just didn't know if you had a boyfriend at home waiting for you."
Jungkook wasn't an idiot, he knew you were single. He just wanted to hear you say that you were single, maybe that confirmation would give him a confidence boost.
"There's no boyfriend at home, I promise." You giggled, smile so wide that your cheeks started to hurt.
"Well, there might be soon," he said softly.
You had butterflies in your stomach again, only this time, it was way more intense. He's such a flirt, he knows what he's doing to you. Your red cheeks aren't helping you hide your feelings.
"I don't wanna beat around the bush, I think you pretty much know how I feel about you. It's kind of obvious." He laughed, nudging his head in the direction of you joined hands. "I just don't want to move forward if you aren't feeling it."
He needed to stop pouting; of course, you felt the same way! "Trust me, I wouldn't be here, out with you, if I didn't have feelings for you, Jungkook."
"Just making sure." He gazed into your eyes; you noticed his sparkled with adoration. He was too pretty.
The rest of the walk to your dorm was calm, comfortable silence followed along. There wasn't any awkwardness between you two, just two adults who mimicked hopeless romantic teenagers. And who cared, you were happy and Jungkook seemed so too.
Who cares what Jimin said to you, he doesn't know Jungkook the same way you know him. They're frat brothers, of course Jimin is going to think he's an asshole or a fuckboy, because they usually are. But Jungkook doesn't take Jimin out to dinner or hold his hand like he does with you. It's just different.
You wished the walk could have been longer when you realized you were already at the front of your dorm building. You wanted to spend more of the night with Jungkook, but it didn't feel like the right timing to invite him in, or even ask to back to the frat house with him. As much as you liked him, it was way too early for anything like that, you weren't even dating.
Oh how you wanted to be his so badly.
"Looks like this is where we'll be parting ways." He let go of your hands, instantly pulling you close and wrapping his arms tightly around your waist instead. "Thank you for tonight."
You brushed the brown bangs away from his eyes, resting your hands on his toned chest. "Don't thank me, you were the one who wouldn't let me pay."
He bit his lip, a soft smile evident on his face. "Oh? I didn't know it was a crime to treat you."
"It's not.. but you don't need to make it a habit of yours."
"Maybe I do."
You could see him leaning slowly towards you, his eyes stealing quick glances down towards your lips and arms pulling your small body closer into his chest.
He spoke in the softest voice you had ever heard. "Is this okay?"
Even if you hadn't known him for that long or are still learning about him and entering his world, this felt so right. You've had flings before, and you've been in a serious relationship, but none of that could even compare to this very moment.
You knew this was right, as you whispered, "Yes."
His lips just barely grazed along yours; he snuck a hand up to softly cup your chin and finally pulled you to him, connecting the two of you. Your eyelids shut, wanting nothing more than to focus on his lips as they molded perfectly with yours, they were so soft and plush.
You felt so secure in his arms, the feeling of hands rubbing up and down your back soothing any worry you had. It made your heart melt when you felt his lips curl up into a smile, feeling a faint hint of his teeth against yours. Each of you were releasing all emotions you had inside. You were so vulnerable right now, but Jungkook made you feel safe.
You raised your arms, cupping each of his cheeks as you began to slightly pull away from him, giving his lips few more pecks. As much as you wanted to continue, you didn't want to rush things and potentially ruin anything to come.
The kiss wasn't necessarily short and sweet, but it also wasn't ruined by being a slobber fest. If Jungkook had any doubt you didn't reciprocate his feelings, he was definitely worry-free now. If anything, it made him even crazier for you.
His eyes stared deep into yours, a small bunny smile peeking through. "You better not plan on running away from me now, not after that."
You couldn't help but laugh, god he was too cute. "I wouldn't dream it, Jungkook."
"Not that I wanna leave, but it's late and we both have early mornings tomorrow, and you also probably have a few last minute assignments you need to take care of."
"Yeah yeah, remind me of everything I have to do instead of spending more time with you."
He leaned in once more, stealing a quick peck from you as he began to take a few steps away from the dorm building. "I'll see you tomorrow, goodnight."
You wished him a goodnight, waving to him as you entered the main common room.
You really felt like a teenager again, unable to control the butterflies erupting in your stomach. The smile on your face mimicked the Cheshire cat, and if someone were to walk past right now, they would think you were going crazy. It wasn't your fault you've been loved deprived for such a long time, and now there's a man that wants nothing but your attention.
Jungkook hadn't been this serious about a girl since he had gotten into college. To him, it was easier to just mess around, never having to put full attention and effort into someone who would eventually leave him. With you, though, he felt different.
There wasn't any explanation, and he truly didn't know why he felt that way, but his instincts assured him that you weren't going to leave like everyone else did. He wanted to make a relationship work with you, and he was willing to do anything for you to make that happen.
To feel loved again, to feel complete again, meant everything to you both. Two souls who had been blindly waiting for each other were finally getting a peak at what real love could be, and they wanted nothing more.

Was it a surprise that Jungkook ended up winning again? Not in the slightest. People came up to him with their congratulations, alcohol was being sprayed in all directions, and of course, girls got very handsy.
Were you surprised that Jungkook was approaching you after he was done with all of the celebrations? Yes.
You had been making small talk with some guy, flirtatious compliments being thrown around loosely from the drinks you were sipping on the whole night. Those drinks were part of the reason why you had confidence radiating off of you, and why you didn’t mind Jungkook walking up to you.
“Oh hey, Jungkook! Congrats tonight man,” Youngbae smiled widely at him, shoving a drink in his hand.
“Thanks, getting easier each week.” Jungkook had been making eye contact with the other man but had been stealing glances at you. “I hate to steal her away from you, but Jimin wanted me to get her home safe tonight.”
“Yeah.. okay,” he said sarcastically, laughing at the words from the younger one. “Have fun tonight.”
Before you could even comprehend what was happening, Youngbae turned away from the two of you and started talking to another group of people. You heard a small, almost shaky voice that brought your focus back. Jungkook’s voice.
"You look new here." He smiled warmly, eyes capturing you with his strong gaze. "I'm Jungkook."
His cheeks had the lightest touch of pink to them, complimenting well with those gorgeous pearly whites. The shine of previous sweat had coated his hairline, looking like it ran down his temples and along his neck.
"I'm Y/n." His smile grew wider. "I was actually here last week with Jimin but decided to come back without him, didn't need him helicoptering me." You both laughed together at that comment, each taking sips of your drinks. "Guess he found out about my whereabouts though."
"Ah, about that.." Jungkook scratched the back of his neck, making eye contact with the concrete road. "I just made up an excuse to get you away from that guy, he's probably the biggest asshole I've ever met."
You couldn't tell if Jungkook was telling you the truth about that guy, or if he just wanted an excuse to talk to you. Honestly, you didn't even care, it was great that he came up to you because even with alcohol flowing through your body, you would have never been able to approach Jeon Jungkook.
"Uh, there's a party at my frat tonight. A lot of the people here start partying before we race, and then move it wherever when we're done here." A part of him was kind of glad you had been drinking, maybe you wouldn't be able to notice how nervous he was, his voice was a dead giveaway. "You don't have to go through! I just thought.. thought I should offer."
You had planned on going back to your dorm and eating alone while watching a movie, but the night was still young and who were you to say no? You smiled and nodded at him, almost getting lost in his dark eyes.
He walked you over to his car, the one you have now seen him win in twice. The inside was just as beautiful as the outside, sporting black leather seats with neon blue accents, as well as LED lights along the floorboards. You noticed a few of the girls from earlier in the night giving you dirty looks as you got in but you weren't bothered. You were the one who was getting in Jungkook's car anyways, not them.
It had taken a few minutes to get out of the crowd and onto the main road, but the atmosphere didn't feel awkward between the two of you. You had been holding conversation pretty well.
"How do you know Jimin?" You turned your head from looking at the city lights and onto Jungkook's side profile. Fuck he was handsome.
"He's my roommate, actually. We've been for a few semesters but the past couple of months we've gotten closer."
"Oh, maybe he'll be there tonight!" You had thought aloud, excited to see your best friend. After leaving your dorm room, he probably would have made his way back to the frat house anyways. It also wouldn't make sense if his frat threw a party and he wasn't there.
"I think he went out for the night. He was gone whenever I left to come here." In Jungkook's mind, there wasn't anything to worry about. Jimin was nowhere to be found and Jungkook didn't care that much to know where he was. Little did he know, Jimin was with you, and you had blown him off for the night to sneak out to another race.
Jimin could very well be back at the frat house, and if that were the case, Jungkook would, quite literally, be dead. One look at Jungkook escorting you inside, offering a drink and introducing you to his friends would send Jimin over the edge.
Fortunately for the two of you, Jimin hadn't gone back. After noticing his car was still gone from the street, disappointment was written on your face, but relief had been on Jungkook's. At least he was able to spend more time with you without having to hide.
You could hear the bass from the blasting music as you walked up the front lawn. Greetings were said while you passed through the front porch as he invited you inside, guiding you directly to the kitchen and grabbing drinks for the both of you.
He had no idea that you were familiar with this house, coming over at least once a week and partying, and you didn't plan on telling him. You thought it was cute as he walked you around, showing you each place the drinks were, how to get to the front and back yards, and where the bathroom was.
Walking yourselves to the backyard, you got comfortable on the cushiony furniture. You could feel yourself slowly get taken away with the alcohol, and you probably should have skipped the drink he gave you, but it helped with your confidence! You were actually able to keep conversation with Jungkook all night, and it made you feel a little better noticing that he was also not completely sober. At least you weren't the only one.
Hours had passed, but to you it felt like minutes. You felt so comfortable in Jungkook's presence that you hadn't realized how late it was. Everyone had either gone home by now, or they were crashed on the floor inside. Jungkook had offered to drive you back to your dorm, but you refused instantly. He was not in the right state of mind to be driving right now. He wanted to offer you a place to stay, but the reminder that Jimin still lived there, and would have seen you, killed that thought of his.
You ended up just walking back, cool air and wind blew against your skin. You were trudging through your room, lazily throwing your tight clothes off in exchange for your oversized pajamas. You were downright exhausted once you got your makeup off, slipping into bed and falling asleep almost instantly.
Jungkook hadn't seen tonight coming, almost in disbelief that he had the confidence to talk to you. It helped that you gave him your full attention once it was just the two of you, conversation seemed to flow so naturally. The only thing he regretted in the morning was that he was a bit too drunk to remember to get your number.

The idea that Friday was a dream definitely crossed your mind. Why wouldn't it be a dream? You were drinking and hanging out with Jeon Jungkook, after said man drove you back to his place. Your memory was fuzzy, but all of those conversations did happen! What if you said something stupid, or did something embarrassing? You hoped he was drinking just as much as you, if not, more.
You had been finishing up some schoolwork in the library, paying no mind to the other students around you. It wasn't until a familiar guy sat across the table from you, showing off that beautiful smile of his.
"Hey, hope I'm not bothering you."
You smiled lightly at him, cheeks now painted in the softest hues of pink. "Not at all, I was actually almost done."
"I was gonna text you Saturday but realized that I never got your number." He was fidgeting with his thumbs, biting his lip nervously as he talked. You didn't need to say anything to him, instead just handing him your phone with the contacts app pulled up.
"I was wondering if you wanted to maybe grab lunch.. if you weren't busy? There's a new place down the street," he offered, handing you back the phone.
You had been wanting to see Jungkook again, this time sober, and it warmed your heart that it felt like he had been wanting to see you too. "Um.. yeah, I don't have any other plans."
To say the new restaurant was good was an understatement. This was some of the best food you had eaten in a long time, and it was so affordable too. You were sat across from Jungkook in a private corner so other conversation could be muffled.
"Now that we're both sober," he lightly chuckled, "I'm gonna start over. I'm Jungkook."
You couldn't stop the smile on your face from growing, "Hi, I'm Y/n."
He had initiated small talk, asking you about any activities you did and what you were majoring in, informing you that he was a business major. That was a surprise. You had also found out that he was just slightly older than you, 22 years old; you shared with him that you were freshly 20.
"It's not the most exciting thing in the world, but business will bring me somewhere in life. Can't really be a street racer forever."
"Well until you get there, at least you have a pretty successful career under your belt within the college crowd."
That brought out his perfect laugh. You hadn't noticed before, but you admired him so much. How was this possible? You barely even knew him, and vice versa. Despite that, you also felt like you had been friends for years; eating lunch and drinking coffee together. This is the behavior you had around Jimin, not someone you had just met. You were so comfortable, and there was never any awkwardness in the conversation. Jungkook radiated confidence, or at least that's what you were lead to believe.
On the inside, Jungkook was so nervous. You were both sober, alcohol not helping with the flow of conversation, but it seemed like it didn't need to. The two of you just had a connection, and he couldn't figure out how. He tried to refrain the stuttering, not trying to embarrass and humiliate himself in front of you. He wanted the opportunity to see you again after today, he just had to keep it together so you wouldn't think of him as some loser.
You were so different from the other girls he had been involved with in his life. One-night stands were his thing! As awful as it sounded, that's how he was. He an adult man, college student at that, and he was just living his young life before he had to go out into the real world. But you were just.. different; good different, though.
He was never into commitment, to him it seemed too stressful and overwhelming. It scared him with the slightest thought he had to ask you out. He understood it would be way too rushed, and he knew you would have definitely rejected him had he brought it up today. This gave him the excuse to get to know you more, hopefully conforming along the way whether you had feelings for him too.
No matter what happened between you two, one thing stayed the same; Jimin could not find out he was seeing you, platonically or romantically.
Would this be difficult to keep from him? Absolutely.
It would also be difficult for Jungkook to explain why Jimin can't know the two of you were becoming friends. But that was a conversation for another day, a day he would be dreading.
All he wanted to do now was enjoy the time he had with you while he could before the two of you parted ways. He wanted to be present, showing you his interest, and hopefully you would want to see him again soon.

It was Monday. The weekend had unfortunately blown past faster than you would've liked it to, with projects and studying occupying the majority of your time. It was luck that you were able to focus on completing any of the schoolwork that seemed to be piling up rather quickly. A certain boy didn’t want to find his way out of your mind.
Part of you wanted so desperately to just shake these thoughts away; Jungkook didn't matter, and you shouldn't be thinking about him 24/7. Hell, you have literally seen him before! Why now are you all of a sudden head over heels for him?
But the other half of you wanted to keep thinking about him. You wanted to revisualize just how good he looked when he opened that car door, sweat falling down his body as he showcased his million-dollar smile. You wanted to relive the moment, rushes of adrenaline pumping through you and everyone around as he swiftly took first place.
You sighed heavily as you sat back up in your bed, pulling your laptop closer to your legs. Trying to shake those thoughts of him away permanently this time, you buried your face in the bright screen. An attempt at studying, for the nth time today. Why was he affecting you this much?
♥︎⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁♥︎
“Jimin, you were probably drinking too much.. a-and you probably wouldn’t even remember but it’s been botheri—”
“What the hell are you going on about?” Jimin shot at Jungkook, words muffled from his mouth full of grapes while his eyebrows stayed furrowed together.
Jungkook huffed loudly, pinching the bridge of his nose. “The girl! She was with you Friday night, holding onto your back, remember?”
“Okay, yeah. But what does she have to do with anything?”
Gazing towards to ground, Jungkook scratched the back of his neck, muttering quietly, “She just.. looks familiar, that’s all.”
Lies. That was such a lie.
As much as he wanted to believe that her knew you from somewhere, he didn’t. God, he didn't even know your name! But just because you two haven’t been introduced doesn’t mean you can’t! For right now, however, Jungkook wouldn’t even dare bring up the fact that he had no idea who you were, already knowing what Jimin would say.
It wasn’t like he was trying to seem like a creep, but when Jimin never brings anyone along with him to these races, and now suddenly there’s a girl wrapped around him like a lost puppy, it was (in Jungkook’s mind) fair to question it.
It was hard not to notice you, the only girl there dressed with her decency in mind, at least, that’s what Jungkook assumed. Now it was even more difficult to get the thought of you out of his head. There was just something about you that made Jungkook’s mind run wild that night.
And as much as Jungkook wanted to push this conversation further, hoping to find out more about who you were, he knew Jimin was going to shut him down sooner or later.
“You don’t know her.”
“But that doesn’t mean I can’t. Maybe you can introduce us! Invite her to mor—”
Jimin quickly interrupted, annoyance painting his face as he spoke a little louder. “I brought her because I wanted to get her out of the dorms for a night, not because I want her around that crowd of people. It’s bad enough that I bring her to the parties here, around all of you guys.” Jimin exhaled sharply as he set his fork down, glancing up and making eye contact with Jungkook. “I don’t want her getting reeled into something she shouldn’t.”
Now it was Jungkook's turn to get annoyed, conversation clearly going in the opposite direction he wanted it to. “She's an adult! I'm sure she can make her own decisions just like I can. Is it that much of a crime that I can't even ask one thing about her?”
Jimin flared his nostrils, getting up from his seat at the small table. “Jungkook, you've screwed way too many girls over these past semesters and you're not gonna screw with Y/n as well.”
So that was your name. Y/n. He made a mental note to remember that for later. But for now, Jungkook was getting even more pissed off as the minutes ticked by. He chose not to say any other snarky comments to Jimin, just turning his back on him and walking upstairs to his room.
His shared room, of course, with Jimin.
Jungkook slammed the door shut, collapsing on his bed now that he finally had a moment just to think. Was that the way he wanted the conversation to go? Absolutely not. He was hoping to at least get your phone number, maybe even going so far as to ask Jimin what you were majoring in, or what hobbies you were into.
All he got was your damn name.
It was great in the sense that he can now put your face and name together, but he can't just stand outside on campus screaming for you. Well... technically he could, but he could see the judging looks already.
What crushed him even more was that if Jimin was planning on taking you to another race, he probably wasn't anymore. Jimin was a smart guy, he knew Jungkook would try to talk to you one way or another if he were to see you there, and he wasn't going to let that happen.
As Jungkook laid in bed, staring up at the ceiling, he began replaying the conversation he just had. What did Jimin mean by 'it's bad enough he brings you to parties here'? Had you really been here before? Maybe he really is just that oblivious.
But if you had been here, most likely multiple times, maybe someone else in their frat knew who you were. There was no way that you only talked to Jimin!
Grabbing his phone, he rapidly began shooting text messages to everyone in his frat, there had to be someone else who was friends with you. There was no chance he could go through Jimin again trying to get to you, so maybe he could get someone else to help him out.
♥︎⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁♥︎
The week went by pretty quick, surprisingly. The presentation you had spent weeks on turned out better than you would have thought, some of your classes had been cancelled, and Jimin had actually finished your English paper on time. Thank god. It was smooth sailing after leaving the science building, trudging back to your dorm room.
Throughout the week, Jimin’s frat had thrown two parties, however, Mr. Grumpy wouldn’t even let you come. ‘You need to study,’ he said. Lame excuse but okay.
You noticed that he wasn’t acting like himself either, he never didn’t invite you to their parties. Maybe you shouldn’t be dwelling on it, but it was weird! And it’s not like Jimin to care more about your education than his. If he could party, then so could you.
And what better party could you think of than the one being thrown during the race on Fridays. Sure, it was intimidating, but you could get used to the crazy atmosphere from the crowd.
You chuckled to yourself as you briskly walked along the sidewalk, the chances of you going again were pretty slim to none. But if Jungkook was racing again this Friday, that could possibly change your plans. Jimin didn’t need to watch a movie with you every Friday night, and it’ll probably be one that you’ve seen a dozen times before.
You made your way into the large brick building, taking the elevator to the fourth floor. As you got closer to the door, a familiar sound bled through the walls and into the hallway.
Jimin was here, in your dorm room. Once again, watching that stupid reality show.
You made your way inside, shrugging your little sweater off and lightly pushing your shoes against the wall. “Hey stranger, last time I checked you didn’t live here,” you smiled at him.
He was laying on his stomach, sprawled out like a starfish on top of your tiny bed with his eyes focused on the TV. “Just didn’t be around the guys, too loud sometimes.”
“Oh they’re too loud but all of the partying isn’t?”
He let out a laugh and looked up at you while munching on some chips. “I can tolerate them when I’m having a good time. But when I’m lying in bed and they all have to scream for no reason, it’s not too relaxing.”
“So instead, you come over here.” You whispered to yourself, playfully rolling your eyes.
You wanted to ask him if he’d be willing to take you to another race tonight since the two of you didn’t really have anything else to do. The thought of Jungkook not racing every week had crossed your mind, but he looked so professional out there last week that it seems like he races a lot.
Plus, you could tell that Jimin was friends with Jungkook. It would be hard for him to say no.
You walked over next to where he was laying, taking a seat in your desk chair.
“I was thinking we could go to another race tonight.” You nervously spat out, receiving a glare from Jimin as he turned away from his phone and focused on you.
“And why would you wanna do that?”
“Why wouldn’t I? It was fun, we can get drinks, and I know what to expect now from last week.” You unconvincingly said to him, biting your bottom lip.
What you didn’t know was that Jimin had gears turning in his head, almost identical to you last week, trying to come up with any excuse not to go.
He wanted you as far away from Jungkook as you could get. And since he would be racing tonight, that was the last place the two of you were going. Jimin didn’t want to come off as overprotective, like a helicopter parent, but he also didn’t want you getting together with any of his frat brothers. Especially Jungkook.
When he first met Jungkook, he seemed like the average college guy. Jimin witnessed him with the occasional hookup every so often, had to help him back to their shared room some nights after too many games of beer pong, and they even studied together a few times. He was a great friend if you were a guy. But you weren't, and Jimin was worried that he would look at you like he did with every girl he saw.
Jungkook seemed to have not paid any attention to you the past semesters, even though the two of you had been at the same place many times before. He was drinking and had his eyes focused on someone else, if only that were the case a week ago. Now that he saw you sober, and had actually begun to ask about you, Jimin started to get nervous.
It wasn't that he didn't want you and Jungkook to be friends, the two of you would actually get along really well! It was just difficult for Jimin to ever introduce you both because he knows Jungkook would snatch you up for a night and would more than likely never talk to you again.
Yes, you were tough and could handle getting ghosted after a one-night stand, but it would put Jimin in an awkward situation. So, the best solution to him was just to keep you two as strangers.
“Maybe we should just stay here tonight.” Jimin shrugged, going back to scrolling on his phone.
If he wasn't going to cave in, you could just go by yourself. You remembered the way he took you to get there, and you could drink just enough so that you would be able to get back to the dorms.
Before he could even reply you interrupted his thoughts. “Actually, I just remembered I have to study for this anatomy exam next week.”
“Oh I took anatomy last semester! I could help yo—”
“No!” You said way too quickly. “I love you, but I know you're gonna distract me too much and I just need as much time to myself as I can get.”
“Okay..” He said, suspicion painting his face. Grabbing his phone and snacks, he got up from your bed and made his way to the door. “Text me if you have any questions,” he said with a smile.
Once hearing his footsteps down the hall, you bounced up and headed towards your dresser. You knew if you wanted to get Jungkook's attention without Jimin this time, you'd have to start dressing a little less than you normally would.
You slipped your clothes off and replaced them with some of the skimpiest items you owned. A baby blue skirt hugged you so tight but it made your ass look so good. You paired it with a white cropped sweater that had a deep V-neck, as well as white stilettos. Your hair and makeup were already done from earlier today, so you didn't stress about doing anything else to get ready. You grab a small purse and made your way out of your dorm room.
Hopefully, Jungkook would be there tonight.
♥︎⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁♥︎
On your drive over to the abandoned streets from last week, you had started to get nervous. But once your car was parked and you had started walking over to all of the partiers, you couldn't even remember why you were doubting coming tonight.
People were singing along with the loud music as lights flashed from all directions. You made your way over to a group of girls, immediately welcomed in with hugs from all of them. You didn't know them, you didn't even recognize them, but they were too drunk to know that or even care. You made small talk with a few of them, accepting offers of drinks as people came around to you. You were starting to feel the alcohol have an effect on you, but that's what will make your night better!
The girls you were talking to started to quiet down as they heard the announcer begin to introduce the drivers. Where the group of you had been standing gave you a straight shot at who you had been wishing to see, the man you could not stop thinking about for a week.
Jeon Jungkook.
Once you noticed him, he was already staring at you. He was happy to see you here again, but what the hell were you wearing?
Aggression was visible on his face, but no one paid mind to it, brushing off his behavior as a way to intimidate the competition. But how could he not be angry when any guy could be looking down your top right now, getting a picture-perfect view of the top of your breasts. And that short skirt you were wearing, did you plan on getting him this riled up so quickly?
It wasn't that you didn't look good, you look stunning as you showed off your hour-glass figure, but Jungkook didn't like sharing, and right now seemed like the worst time for you to dress like that. If only you would've worn another modest outfit similar to last week.
It aggravated him that all he could do was watch as guys came up from behind you, lightly rubbing their hands up and down your back, while he had to get into his car and attempt to win a race with you watching him yet again, except this time he knows beforehand that you’re here. If you were still there after the race was over, he'd have to figure out a way to get you home with him, not any of those other guys.

“I don’t understand why you want me to go, you have guy friends that are interested in that kind of stuff, don’t you?”
“That’s not the point, Y/n. If I wanted them to go, I would’ve asked them by now, but I asked you.”
You sighed, slightly shaking your head at the begging boy in front of you while slowly making eye contact with the ground and lowering yourself onto the foot of your bed. Your arms were wrapped around your upper body and you couldn’t help but let out another huff, contemplating whether or not you should give him a bullshit excuse as to not go.
Jimin has been your best friend since you were young kids, meeting for the first time in elementary school. As you grew up, the two of you became inseparable, always spending time together. And on a typical day you would have loved spending your Friday night with him, that is, up until recently.
As the two of you began college back in the fall, you both started to branch out and try new things. You knew Jimin was going to fit right in with the frat boys and it was reassuring to have someone watch your back at their parties; it made them a little more bearable. What you did not expect was for Jimin to gain an interest in motorsports, specifically street racing.
You had heard him saying not too long ago that some of the guys in the frat house raced occasionally. 'Big money,' he said, but if only you knew just exactly how much those winners were getting paid, as well as the spectators who decided to bet on certain drivers.
The two of you had just gotten takeout and were lying in your dorm room while watching (and making fun of) random reality shows. You had gotten up to use the bathroom just to come back out and have Jimin spring onto you that there was a street race tonight and a couple of his frat brothers would be there racing.
And instead of going by himself and making friends like the social butterfly he is, he of course had to invite you.
Now here you were, brain working overtime trying to come up with some lame excuse to seem busy. But Jimin knew you weren't.
"Y/n, I promise you'll have a good time tonight. It's not as boring as you think. We'll only be there for an hour or two and then we can come back to the dorms," he expressed while softly pouting his lips at you.
"What's in it for me?"
Jimin rolled his eyes at you. "I'll finish your damn English paper, okay?"
Although still reluctant, you agreed to go. As long as this doesn't become a regular Friday night occurrence for you, how bad could it be? It also helped that he gave you the biggest eye smile after you said yes.
♥︎⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁⦁♥︎
You thought that maybe four to five people would be here racing, bringing a few friends each, but no. Not at all. In fact, the streets were packed like a full house. There had to have been roughly twenty guys standing alongside their expensive muscle cars, engines roaring loudly and echoing through the streets, wheels shining as camera flashes blinded them. There were also probably two hundred people who got their asses up to come out tonight to see these men race. The atmosphere seemed similar to some of the parties you had been to, so it was to no surprise that it garnered a large viewing.
But putting it simply, you were intimidated. It was very crowded and here you were being dragged behind Jimin as he tried to get the two of you closer to the front where the start/finish line was located. Was it really necessary for these large muscular men to keep giving you side eye as you bumped into them?
Had it not been for the dozens of lights and neon signs hung up everywhere, the streets would have practically looked like a ghost town. There was nothing here, close to abandonment, which made for the perfect place. Old beer cans and ashes scattered the ground, you noted that they must have been racing here for a lot longer than you originally thought.
You brought your gaze up, looking around when you noticed there were cigarettes and blunts everywhere. Almost every guy here was either smoking or drinking, sharing with the girls who had draped themselves overtop of them. They were practically naked as they wore knee-high strappy stilettos and those short, skimpy skirts (the ones that stop just below their ass cheeks), paired with either a very cropped tank top, or a V-neck top that rested so low that their breasts would fall out any minute. It was almost impossible not to catch a glimpse of their lacey thongs as they wrapped their arms around the guys' shoulders. Although you knew those guys were enjoying the attention they got, the views being an added bonus.
But what were you wearing tonight? A t-shirt and jeans.
Did Jimin tell you about the unofficial "dress code" for this kind of event? Nope.
You wouldn't have dressed like them even if he had told you, but you also could've worn something even a slight bit more revealing than this! Even if it was a skirt that went mid-thigh along with a tighter top!
You felt a nudge on your shoulder, breaking your train of thought and gaze away from the crowd and closing back on Jimin. His hand was on your elbow as he pulled you closer, leaning down to your ear and started yelling, but you could still barely hear him over the blasting music. "The race is about to start; my pick is Jeon."
"I guess I'll go with him then, too," you said as you smiled back up at him. The two of them had been good friends for a while, so what better choice?
You had heard of Jeon Jungkook, even seeing him around a few times when partying with Jimin. How could you miss him whenever he wore those tight jeans and white shirts that hugged his muscles so perfectly, complementing his tanned skin. And his tattoos! God those fucking tattoos made you want to drop to your knees right then and there for him. It didn't help that he not only had an eyebrow piercing, but also a lip ring that he just couldn't seem to stop playing with. Jungkook is a very attractive man, and you could agree with that whether you were in a drunken state or not.
But you knew Jungkook hadn't heard of you. There was no way. In fact, he never even spared you a glance at any of those parties. His tongue seemed to be always shoved down someone else's throat. The only mutual friend the two of you had was Jimin, but since you both came from complete opposite sides of his life, you were rarely crossed paths with each other.
Yet again, your thoughts were quickly broken, startling you as everyone began to cheer louder; you noticed the guys were now getting into their respective cars. Engines revved as each of their names were introduced, girls fawning and screaming over them.
As everyone moved out of the street and onto the sidewalks, the announcer walked onto the platform, taking the mic. "I want a clean race gentlemen. You know how this goes; first place takes it all. Ready... Set... GO!"
And with that, they were out of your sight as they sped off and made the first turn. From where Jimin had you standing, there were large screens visible on the side of the buildings that showed them from a drone view as they raced through the city. It was terrifying watching as they weaved around each other, just narrowly avoiding a few obstacles that happened to be in the way.
It was easy for you not to lose sight of Jungkook. He stood out by driving the brightest neon blue Chevrolet Camaro you had ever seen, decorated with white stripes down the middle. He also happened to be leading significantly in front of the other racers, giving him just enough time to makes turns a bit more cautiously.
You turned back to Jimin. "How long are they racing for?"
"Usually about 7 miles. Not too long, but just long enough to get a good race out of these guys."
You nodded your head, eyes focusing back onto the screens.
You winced when some of the girls would let out these high-pitched shrieks whenever they saw two of the guys spin each other around, smoke engulfing their cars, but the racing never stopped. It didn't matter what happened or how badly they would place, the race would go on without them.
A few minutes passed by and you could hear the engines becoming significantly louder as they approached the finish line, back where you all stood. The overhead camera still focused on Jungkook as he led the group, but you could see someone quickly coming up from behind him.
You hear Jimin mumble, "Fuck Y/n, if he blocks he might actually win this."
And that he did.
The guy behind was racing aggressively, but Jungkook was able to perfectly block him each time he made an attempt to get around his car, which made for an extremely close photo finish as he sped past the checkered flag. Obviously, all the girls were now cheering even louder than before, starting to run into the street and up to Jungkook as he climbed his way out.
But that's reasonable because fuck did he look so good. Beads of sweat were running down his forehead as his bangs fell in front of his face. That large, tattooed arm of his just had to push the strands of jet-black hair back while a smirk was displayed across his face. He was winking to the girls all around him, once again playing with that damn lip ring.
Jimin pulled you with him to go congratulate Jungkook as they announced his name, but you kept yourself hidden behind his back. This just wasn't your place; you weren't friends with Jungkook, you didn't even know him. Most of their frat brothers were there, high fives and fist bumps being shared between them all, and you stood awkwardly, like you were invading their space.
"Jungkook holy fuck! You're a fucking monster out there!" Jimin laughed as the two of you had shuffled your way directly in front of Jungkook. You had been attempting to stay hidden behind Jimin, but one glance up and now you were making eye contacting with the winner himself.
God, he looked even better up close, those big brown eyes of his displaying so much joy. Maybe a hint of cockiness, too. Just slightly, though.
You, however, quickly looked away, looking anywhere but at him. But Jungkook didn't, he kept his eyes focused on you. Whatever Jimin had been saying became muffled and was going in one of his ears and out the other.
Jungkook was confused. Were you one of Jimin's friends? How had he never seen you before? He definitely would have noticed and remembered you! Were you usually at these races?
He must have zoned out and before he knew it, you and Jimin had started walking away from him as more people tried coming closer to talk to and congratulate him about the win. The girls you had observed from the beginning of the night were now wrapping their arms around him, posing for pictures to post to social media, but he didn't even bother to pay them any attention.
As the night passed by, Jungkook tried celebrating with the rest of his frat house but just couldn't get the picture of you out of his head. Who were you? He made a note to himself to question Jimin once he came back for the night.
