I recently moved to Morrinsville, New Zealand, looking for a new beginning in a nice small community that looked friendly and safe.
On December 26th 4 neighbours got into my house while I was in Auckland staying with a few friends for my birthday.
They spend some time in the house, smoked inside, they went through everything, left the place super dirty. They took my Birth certificate, passports (two from different countries) with my New Zealand Visa, my diplomas, all of my foreign currency, my insulin, my freestyle libre (chips and reader), blood control meter and 1000 sticks, a hard drive containing all the photographs I took from 2002 until now, a large amount of them are Raw, and all of the ones I took underwater, my USA social security number and several important documents.
I arrived home the afternoon of my birthday on 27th and realised what happened, call 111 but, it was not an emergency so they told me to call 105 which I did, I was on hold for 40 min and managed to talk to someone.
I was told to wash everything since you do not know what they did with my bed and cloth. They used my debit cards, I called the banks, and started the process of cancelling everything.
The next day a police comes with my backpack and a few of the belongings, like all of the opened and empty boxes of blood test strips, the robbers opened all of them and throw them on the street but, they did not leave anything important.
I posted a comment online and received several private comments from people telling me that the @nzpolice does not have the resources to track the people who did this, apparently @jacindaarden is not sending the appropriate tools and resources to make these crimes stop. There have been a large amount of houses robbed during this week.
We went on an investigation and found the house on  where this guys were staying, we called the police but, by the time they went there (several days later) they were gone and my belongings as well.
I am asking @jacindaarden to give @nzpolice the necessary resources to stop these people and also ask her to help me get new documentation and passports, since they took everything I had including the cash I brought to start over again in a “Safe” country.
@JaciindaArden I believe what you said that this country is safe for foreigners, please, make that real.
