We just recently (a couple months ago) discovered that we’re plural, and I (host) have been really worrying about some stuff and don’t know if there’s any way to fix it.

So, all of my headmates are distinct, I know who they all are and about when they came to be, but we don’t really have any communication between each other. Sometimes we’ll go days of just complete radio silence between everyone, and when we do talk it’s never for very long. We also have the issue that I don’t think we’re really “switching” like it’s usually described? The best term I can come up with for it is non-possessive switching… it feels like we’re just switching modes when another goes in front instead of like someone else just took over our body. That’s not really an issue, I guess really more what seems off is that I almost never leave front and when I do, it’s not for very long and I’m pretty much always still conscious.

We also just… don’t really have a headspace, I don’t think? Or, maybe we do, but I just don’t really know how to access that at all. Any tips or information on this front would be so helpful please if you can.

All completely normal, don't worry!

You've obviously got some communication barriers, this is something you can work on if you'd like to try strengthening y'alls communication, there's recourses out there you can look up. Perhaps trying external forms of communication* could help you too

Non-posessive switching, layering, co-consciousness, there's a lot of terms out there to describe things that aren't "full switching"! You can look into them or you can simply go forth with that knowledge, you don't have to put all your nuanced experiences into labels if you don't think that's right for you :]

And there's a lot of reasons you might not be leaving front often/for long, (being frontstuck/sticky/bound, being a form of median, a non switching host, just needing to practice switching/leaving, etc) I couldn't list them all, but it's not necessarily something to worry about, at all honestly, and it could be just how your system functions! Again, all okay

Headspaces can be tricky. You might not have one or it may be, as you said, you're unable to access it. You could try building one, or using some external communication to ask the others if they can access a headspace/you have one, or you all may be content to go without. A lot of systems have unstable or non existent headspaces, or a lot of them are simply unable to access it! Headspaces aren't a Must Have so don't worry too much about that either

*things like simply plural, pluralkit, notes apps, even real world pieces of paper, etc. Just writing down your words in some way can make it a lot easier to communicate

So I suppose the short answer is don't worry, this is all normal, and to take your time and not stress yourselves to much over the specific inner workings and functions of your system. (Especially so early after syscovery, it might be tempting to figure everything out immediately, but allow yourselves some time to breathe and process the new information! If you figure out a way of communication, get to know your headmates!)

intro post!!

We’re the Muffin Batch Collective, a questioning system (endogenic). We are five in total of varying perceived ages, and will not be sharing our bodily age. We’re using this space to try out labels and interact with the plural community while we figure stuff out! We understand there’s a lot of discourse in this community regarding endogenic systems and traumagenic ones, and we understand the thought process on both sides (though we are pro endo for obvious reasons). Both sides are allowed to interact with our posts if you’d like, but please don’t use our posts to spread hate toward either side. If you don’t like our posts, feel free to block us; we’ll take no offense to it at all.

Our core and host is Bee; most of our posts will be written by her. We’re still working on figuring out switching, communication, and just in general how to system so any and all advice is 100% welcome (please please please share)!!

We’re also trying out age regressing. We regress to probably around age ten or maybe a bit younger? We’re not sure as this is very new to us as a coping mechanism. Please keep from anything sexual on our posts!
