How do I know if I'm plural?

I recently started talking to myself as like, a way to reassure and encourage myself and stuff. Saying stuff like "you're fine, you didn't do anything wrong" or "Do you want to do X, Y, Z... Z? Alright, let's do Z then." And now I'm not sure if it's just a good coping strategy for me or if I might be plural?

Like I'm not sure sometimes if the person doing the reassuring and the person being reassured are the same person, y'know? And sometimes it feels almost like a kind of dialogue, but other times it just feels like I'm speaking into a void? Are we median? Am I only one gal? Dunno!

And idk what if I'm just trying to like. Appropriate plurality because I think it's neat or something. I know and see a lot of systems and genuinely do think plurality is rly cool so what if I'm just trying to be plural on some level. It always feels kinda deliberate when I talk to myself

Needless to say I am very lost and thinking about it is making my head hurt and my chest tighten. Sorry if this is a bit of a long ask you don't have to respond I'm just trying to find answers however I can

I'm a bit under the weather rn im sorry if this is loopy so I want to make a comic on this eventually, Im just no good at general infographics Plurality is vast, complex, and varied. So its hard to say yes or no based on this But heres the three rules I'll follow looking for plurality without typical DID/OSDD redflags 1. If you have opposing thoughts or morals appear in your thinking process, particularly after a stressful event. 2. If you have names, images, or other things associated with these reassuring voice 3. If people say you have different "modes" or literally say you act like a differnet person sometimes and its confusing. 4. If these voices in your head arent... yours. Its hard to explain, but I feel like those with plurality could explain. --- Ultimately if you want to find out if your plural, 1st.

Be ready if you are scared, might freakout, or are actively angry or upset at these thoughts, understand that if an alter can emerge, they wont if they are under threat. You have to be kind, ready to accept them, and most importantly ready to apologize the them if you were toxic before. They can tell if you are sincere. 2nd.

Look yourself in the mirror, ask to meet anybody in there, tell them Thank you for existing.

3rd.

Imagine yourself a headspace if you don't have one. This is an imaginary world that can be anything you want from vast universes to an empty void. But create a place to meet.

Meditate, create a place to see them, to meet them, to speak with them. Be patient, focus on breathing, focus on visualizing the space. Try to exist solely within that space. Invite them there, they might show 4. Be Ready. Plurality cannot be unseen once you see it, your life will never be the same. And ultimately it could be the best thing ever, but it can be incredibly hard, rocky, and bring up alot of trauma in your life. Be sure you want to explore this and are in a point of your life you are able to handle it.

i do not care if you ship our sources together in whatever source it is we come from, that does not mean we should connect nor does it mean you have any sort of a say over who we end up with.

fictives are not their source character and have boundaries that should be respected.

lastly, don’t ship people in general, that includes headmates.

Normalize referring to yourself as "we" "our", even if there's just one of you guys on the front.

Btw it's fine to sometimes get like. Relapses in your ability to communicate with your system members. Like you might want to figure out if anything specific caused it (like stress, illness, etc.) but generally speaking this just happens sometimes and it's not the end of the world so don't work yourself up too much over it. Especially considering that building communication is part of recovery for most disordered systems; it's normal to hit roadblocks or to experience relapses in your recovery from time-to-time. Don't panic if communicating with your system has become difficult or impossible recently. Take a deep breath, return to the basics of what helped you build that communication in the first place, and don't push yourself too far trying to get it back. Maybe it's burnout. Maybe you're going through a rough patch. Maybe you just need a break. Who knows? But working yourself up over it isn't going to help, so try to take things one step at a time. This just happens sometimes, so give yourself/ves patience when it does.

(Anyone else remember a long time ago when my host half-joked that maybe our cat chasing its tail was one headmate using partial possession on the tail while another chased it? And then anti-endos spent a week mocking that! Good times! 🤣😁)

Plurality is such an interesting concept to consider with animals because we just... have no way of knowing what's going on in their heads.

I think that if humans can be plural, it's likely other creatures can as well.

I've also talked before about how some animals might be plural in ways that are completely unlike humans, like the Octopus!

LockHost

Ive been looking for a system term to describe myself for a while, and decided fuck it we ball and made one myself

A lockhost is an alter in a system that seems to be the 'main' host, and is almost always fronting. They may also decribe themself as 'front-locked' or 'front sticky,' but this may not always be the case. They may be able to leave front or the front area, but are usually aware of whats going on with front anyways, and they are quite often pulled back to front within a short period of time. Because of this, they usually become the bodies 'main identity' in a system.

Other alters may use the identity of the lockhost as a mask in the case that they do not want to show themself, and may also interact with or control the body via the lockhost. In the case of a lockhost being an introject, it would not be uncommon for several doubles of the lockhosts source to also be present in the system.

Lockhosts may also act similarly to 'Observers,' in that they are always aware of the body to some degree, and can quickly be pulled to front in the case that they happen to not be fronting in the traditional sense. The lockhost may also serve many other roles in the system, but not always.

In the case of a lockhost also being part of a subsystem or side system, they may or may not be a lockhost of those as well.
