25 year old Lu Hanwen visiting Yu Wenzhou and Huang Shaotian and there’s a maths book from when he was 15 years old on the coffee table. It’s an updated edition, which means they went out and bought this recently.

Yu Wenzhou comes in as he’s holding it and his face splits into a warm smile, the same smile he used to give Lu Hanwen when he did something *great* in Glory, or made Huang Shaotian laugh.

Lu Hanwen gets to bask in the smile for approximately three seconds before Yu Wenzhou opens his mouth and says “ah I’m so glad you don’t have such a visceral reaction to workbooks now.”

And Lu Hanwen is violently yeeted back to being 15 and dramatically sweeping his workbooks onto the floor because it’s not *fair* he practiced all day and now, the rest of the team get to go out or watch tv or read and he has to sit here and do his *homework*

Yu Wenzhou’s smile widens just a few notches as if he can see the entire scene that just played through Lu Hanwen’s head and he can hear Huang Shaotian losing it from around the corner.

“Yeah yeah, you think you’re so funny, old people humour is still terrible.” Huang Shaotian jumps out from behind the wall to complain about youngsters never respecting their elders, and Lu Hanwen grins at him, tossing him the workbook, just to hear him yelp.

Being 15 was *hard*

okay so I know lu hanwen is the best goodest kid ever. but also. he's going through puberty while he's on the team and I think he should get his moments where he is an absolute nightmare teenager who shouts at yu wenzhou and curses at huang shaotian and refuses to do his stupid homework because why should he have to do stupid school homework when he already makes so much money. how annoying and embarrassing that all these old people are always telling him what to do. a decade later he has to live with the mortification of his good friends yu wenzhou and huang shaotian having a front row seat to his teenage meltdowns.

Crying once again over this, they’re so serious and intense about Everything and also each other *look at them* they’re fist bumping I’m gonna die for them 😭

#you can’t convince me this isn’t a *thing* for them #that years of habit don’t draw han wenqing’s eye towards wherever zhang xinjie is sitting #han wenqing fights alone but his pride in victory is shared
