everyone stand back im cooking (bloodweave wip)
Astarion rolled his eyes, tired of Gale’s theatrics. “It’s just sex.” He scoffed, and Gale stared at him for a long moment.
“I didn’t want it to be just sex…” Gale said lowly between them, a secret that was never supposed to be said out loud. Something so intimate, so personal, so vulnerable.
Astarion frowned, scoffing bitterly. “You don’t want me, Gale.”
“You can’t say that.”
“I’m not like your goddess-“
“But I’ll worship you like one,” Gale cut him off, his voice stern, a little wobbly with emotion. “If you don’t want me, I understand, but never….never say it’s because I don’t want you.”

The more time I have Astarion in my party and getting to see more and more of his personality, the more I realize that Gale and Astarion are more or less the same—both personality and story wise (obv their stories are very different, but the key features driving their stories are eerily similar). The only major difference between their personalities is that Gale is more aligned with good, and Astarion is more evil aligned.
Think I’m kidding? Spend a playthrough talking to Gale and Astarion literally every chance you get (especially at camp), and sooner or later, you’ll see just how similar these power-hungry attention-seeking manwhore malewifes these motherfuckers are

[...] all Gale can think about when he sees it is how he’d stood in this exact spot after he’d been cursed with the orb. How he’d stared, equal parts dumbstruck and mortified, at the freshly placed burn on his chest. The bruise in the center hadn’t yet had time to form, then. It raised and blistered aggressively over the following days, adding another layer to the pain and confusion that already addled his heart and mind. To see it after it’d healed, the perfectly formed lines of it — it almost felt like a brand. An artistic rendition of his folly, embedded into his skin forever.
As he stares at it now, he realizes that feeling has never gone away.
