My Favourite Quotes From The Hate You Give by Angie Stone
For some reason, it’s hard for me to review books that impact me greatly. The Hate You Give is one of them. I still want to post something about it though. So here are ten of my favourite quotes from the book. I hope they inspire you to check the book out because it honestly is life changing.
“Maya’s boyfriend, Ryan, happens to be the only other black kid in eleventh grade, and everybody expect…

What I Like About Black Panther
Tumblr media
It has a predominantly black cast but it’s not a ‘black movie’.
Usually, there are certain tropes and stereotypes that come to play when movies with black people are made. The characters are usually angry, poverty-striken criminals or live in a poverty-striken neighbourhood filled with criminals. Yes, the reality is people of colour are more disadvantaged and are more likely to deal with things…

February TBR List
Reading progress prior to this month: 3/200. Shame on me-I know.
January being a very, very slow reading month for me really knocked me off my game. The number of books I have to read has been almost doubled but instead of trying to play catch up this month I’m going to focus on the books I really want to read.
When Dimple Met Rishi// I’ve been meaning to read this book since it came out last…

A Court Of Wings And Ruin Review
Author: Sarah J Maas
Genre: young adult fantasy
Rating: 3,9/5 stars
A study on how to wrap up a series that took us literally everywhere in just three books.
It starts soon after the events that ended ACOMAF with Feyre back at the Spring Court pretending to absolutely hate Rhys’ guts while trying to gather information about the Spring Court’s alliance with the king of Hybern. I can’t really…

A Court Of Thorns And Roses  Review
Author: Sarah J Maas
Genre: young adult fantasy (although I think it should be new adult🙊🙊🙊)

My Favourite Things About The Sun Is Also A Star
Usually when I read books I make a list of everything that is wrong with them but every once in a while (a long while) I read a book that restores my trust in contemporary literature. Needless to say, this was one of them. TSIAAS by Nicola Yoon is one of my favourite books that I read this year and I didn’t want to review it because how do you review greatness really but I still wanted to post…

My Favourite Books Of 2017
2017 was a good year in the literary industry. There was a lot more diversity in subject matters and characters in books that were “accepted” into the mainstream.Which naturally, made it a good year for book bloggers and other readers everywhere.
Personally, I “discovered” a lot of great authors and books, some were new but most had been in the industry for a while. I was also a bit more…

The Rest Of Us Just Live Here Review.
Author: Patrick Ness
Genre: young adult fantasy
Format: Hardcover
Rating: 4/5 stars
This book is not about the cool kids, the heroes, the ones who save our world from being destroyed by supernatural beings, the “indie kids”. Quite the opposite actually. It’s about the other kids, the normal kids, the ones that you know, just live there.
Before reading this book I read a review that it was a…

As I go on a blogging spree.
You know that feeling when you realise the year is almost over then you start to panic because you didn’t do everything you’d thought you would? When you just feel like if you don’t do that one thing before the end of the year you’re going to be miserable or the world’s going to fall apart or something?
I feel like that about blogging. There are certain book reviews and other posts I’d wanted to…

Everything Wrong With Everything, Everything: A Book  Review Of Sorts.
WARNING: Contains spoilers. It’s really just one but still.
Nicola Yoon can write. She knows how to get you to root for her characters from the very beginning. She knows how to show you a character’s three dimensional personality without seeming like she’s excusing the bad they’ve done or are doing. Her style so amazing I feel like even her grocery shopping lists are probably worth reading.  BUT…

Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Books I Want My Future Kids To Read.
On a Wednesday. I really wanted to take part in this week’s meme even though I’m a little late to the party.
These are books I think everybody should read not just my future kids. It’s not the best list but I think it’s well rounded and diverse and would serve as a good starting point to being a well read, conscious human being. So in no particular order here are the ten books I want my future…

Books I Meant To Read In August
My Goodreads’ reading goal for this year was 52 books. And while that seems like a small number I figured I’d read 1 book a week for the whole year but as you’ve probably guessed,  it didn’t work out that way. By the end of last month (July) I’d read 42 books, leaving me just 10 books away from my goal. I then dug through my TBR pile-more like mountain- and picked 10 books I wanted to prioritise…

July In Review 2017
Just as quickly as it crept up on us, July is finally leaving. I’m weirdly indifferent about this month ending, possibly because it was quite monotonous and filled with a lot of bad weather. But a some good things did happen including the main reason I feel like I’m successfully “young adulting” . I became a well rounded reader who has great taste in books (the only skill you need to survive the…

June In Review 2017
Last month I entered the biggest reading slump I’ve been in all year. I literally didn’t read anything for two weeks so I spent the first half of this month trying to get over it but didn’t really succeed until towards the end. You kinda can see that in my list. But anywho, I’m back now. And I have so much reading stamina my social life is about to be nonexistent.
Without further ado, here’s my…
