Mess
So *crickets…*
If I’m being 100% honest, I’m currently cringing right now so I am going to keep this intro short and sweet. (Skip to the topic if you wish)
Why do I write and what is the purpose of me joining WVW (Word Vomit Wednesday)?
Simple.
Because I love writing lol and creativity in general, I’m too opinionated and vocal, I’m very curious, but importantly I want to grow intentionally in my personal and spiritual walk and see others be inspired to grow themselves in their hobbies too. BAM. *cue John Cena music*
Oh and its the first step I guess to take my writing of short story collections, children’s books and blogging journey seriously.
DISCLAIMER: I am a professional writer >:) lol no seriously, I am extremely amateur so there will be plenty of grammar errors and enjoy discussion so you’re own opinions on topics would be awesome too :) Also i run on african time so this may not appear on Wednesdays lol.
TOPIC: Mess
This was like the perfect topic to start my “sharing of posts” because I, shamelessly admit to embracing the word mess through and through. Haunting flashes of my room and car immediately pop up, even tho I am a perfectionist in many ways, I am so messy.
My mum is helping me on my rehabilitation against mess so I’m seeing improvement HAHAHA.
I have a thing where I pay attention to very minor things and they make me so like curious or excited. This us how my mind works. So see how the word Messy ends in a y but doesn’t it sound like y. It sounds like:
Mess-eeeeeeeee
Eeeee-eewwwwww. Mess-eeeeee-eewwww. MESS = EW ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED.
Jokes nah the point i’m getting at, is that the ending sound made me think of 3 E’s that i thought I could categorise mess in my own opinion.
Mess is Evident…
This is the tangible mess we see. Like our dysfunctional room or Uni notes. There is an obvious correction that our eyes can calculate, even if we don’t get to it right away, we know it’s there to rectify.
Mess can be Evanescent…
I’m applying this more to mess that isn’t tangible. The mess in our mind or in-between. They can be messy emotions in your current relationships with friends, family. Irrational thoughts, decisions that need to be made, accumulation of so many ideas etc. Why I use the word evanescent is that we don’t constantly see this mess. We tend to lock it away or brush it off when we want. Sometimes it fades away but there can still be an essence of that mess present and you will come back to it when necessary or it will randomly appear subtly, or in explosive ways.
therefore in light of these two types
Mess can be Essential…
It can be an indicator that there needs to be a decluttering in your life. Letting going of needless items that you are hoarding onto or that current relationships in your life are toxic.
Mess allows for evaluation of your current status. It allows for evaluation of your anchors in life as well. As a Christian, I know I’ve had mess/disorganisation in my life that has opened my eyes to see my theological anchor was way off, my decision making was all over the place and I was constantly relying on my own strength. If your studies or work are in disarray you can ask am I staying in this pathway because of my parents; because it will put me on a social pedestal amongst my peers or am I doing this because this is where I have been spiritually lead. When you look to the root of the mess, thats when you can begin to find correction, direction and extension.
If disorganisation didn’t exist in the external and internal facets of our lives, it would actually be BORING but would you even be able to grow as a human being?

When you go through a rough spot, the true colours of your friends really come out. Seems in life sometimes, people like to take advantage of your difficulties for their own personal gain, and neglect your feelings completely.
practice what you preach and stop being fake
