the redhead was perched in a tree, earbuds in his ears. he was simply watching the people walk by and around him. it was a rare time when he wasn’t training with his dad. more like he snuck out before enji could come and get him. he knew he was going to get it later. that made him want to go home way less. it made him want to run away. but he couldn’t, he had to protect his siblings.

he felt the weird stares from the people below him. what type of person sits in a tree and just watches? people tended to give him space. he was know for being a todoroki, and he supposed that people thought he had the same personality as his dad. he didn’t mind the space, but sometimes it stung.

he slipped down from the branch he was on, landing with a soft thud. he began walking, to where? he didn’t know or care. anything to keep him distracted. he felt the itching on his wrists and arms. it happened when he thought too hard about enji. sighing softly, he kept his gaze on the ground.

since people usually gave him a wide berth, he wasn’t expecting to just run straight into someone. he let out a gasp, stumbling backward. he caught himself before he hit the ground, pulling out an ear bud.

“hey sorry about that. i wasn’t looking where i was going.”

shindo is not exactly the most SOCIALLY CONSCIOUS PERSON, which is in concept a HUGE LIE. he is, in actuality, very GOOD WITH PEOPLE and social trends, but the front he puts up is much more airheaded. to START ACTING as smart as he really is would be to render his ACT useless.

so, yes, he KNOWS who he’s about to run into. but people would expect him NOT TO NOTICE something like that, so he fakes it, colliding into the person AS IF HE WERE DISTRACTED.

` oh ---- hey, DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT ! haha, it was kind of MY FAULT TOO, y’know ? i’m not really the best at WATCHING WHERE I’M GOING. `  he laughs sheepishly, rubbing at the back of his neck. his body language, mannerisms, EVERYTHING ---- they’ve all been perfected so his TRUE NATURE should be all but undetectable.

he laughs although there are petals TUMBLING FROM HIS MOUTH and he has not yet finished coughing, laughs because THIS IS IT and he really should have known that SOMEONE WOULD FIND OUT at some point.
