2. What made you decide to write for this muse?
You know this is a really good question. I first played Colosseum ages ago and her character just stuck out to me. She was so spunky in the face of all this danger and I’m just so about that. Red head with an attitude, sign ME UP!

If you could “borrow” one aspect of your muse and apply it to yourself or your own life, what would you borrow?
I really want to borrow Rui’s confidence with people. I would love to just be able to walk up to people and spark up conversation like it was nothing. That’s quality content I wanna be that cool lol.

17. Why do you think you connect to your muse
Rui: It has to be her compassion. She just appears so selfless and I really identify with that.
Cynthia: Workaholic, I too am married to my job. But yet she still finds time for fun, even though my idea of fun isn’t spelunking, we can still unwind after a long day’s work.
Kimaru: Uh...honestly it has to be her free spirit. She just goes wherever life takes her, and just accepts it. I’ve always wanted to live like that.
May: It’s honestly really difficult for me to pick just one thing. She’s headstrong, determined, ready to fight for what she wants...she’s honestly everything I really want to be. Whoopsies now I’m emotional lmfao.

Rough Research (PMD Event) | | Rui & Lusamine
Event starter for @aetherealprecedent
Rui had been fascinated by how each Pokemon gifted with supernatural abilities worked. It fascinated her so much that she wanted to research it as a career. While most of her studies led her in circles, she was particularly taken with a particular project that was mentioned to her by someone else acclaimed in the field of science. Lusamine, powerful in more ways than one, and someone Rui wanted to learn about. But she was careful what she asked. She didn’t want a bad reputation.
But when the opportunity presented itself to allow her to work with the esteemed researcher, she couldn’t say no. There was a cave rumored to house very powerful stones, capable of increasing the supernatural abilities in others by using them. She had absolutely no idea what it was about, but she was curious…probably too curious.
So there she stood, outside Lusamine’s lab with all her notes and supplies to start field research. She would be playing more of an assistant more than anything else, which she was fine with. It gave her time to really let everything sink in while they worked on debunking this new and exciting mystery. Rui raised her hand, knocking on the door a couple times while she waited for Lusamine to appear. Stopping for a minute, she probably should have said something… “Uh…Lusamine! It’s Rui! I’m here for our field study! I brought all the notes I collected in my own projects to help out with whatever I can.”

Hearing from Rui set a little spark into Morty. He’d spent that whole week alone, hadn’t even gone to the dance Hall. He’d accepted a few challengers, but barely communicated with them. He couldn’t shake some feeling, and had been meditating on it for days. But hearing from Rui, with the offer of a chance to explore some place spiritual, somewhere he’d never been before, well, he couldn’t resist.
Gengar, of course, was coming. He liked Rui very much. Most of his ghosts would rather stay home, Obi floaitng around the dance hall. She could visit with Kimaru while Morty was gone, and Hades could join them. Hazel, well, she liked to keep watch over the gym, so she’d hang around there. Hellion would dutifully fly Morty to Orre, and Lune, well, he’d been restless.
Morty made the flight with Hellion, Gengar and Lune, landing just outside Agate, where he could feel the life and spirit, though he wasn’t prepared for her to have such an exhilarating suggestion. He returned Hellion to his pokeball for safe keeping as Rui ran to him. He fell into her hug with a renewed sense of warmth before stiffening, still not used to her brand of physical affection, but enjoying it nonetheless.
“I have missed you as well, Rui,” he said quietly. “This is where you brought the beasts, then? And where Michael brought Lugia?”
He was already caught up in a sense of disbelief. This is where they’d saved the legends of Johto, and all those other pokemon. It filled him with curiosity. Gengar danced out of his shadow and then around Rui, and Lune poked his head out from behind Morty.
“Ah, I hope you don’t mind,” he apologized. “These two will be joining us in the forest.”
Rui giggled softly, hugging him tightly for a few more moments. She could feel him stiffen up just a little bit, but she expected that. It was just second nature for her to be so open and affectionate with the people she cared about, that sometimes the fact that some people weren’t used to it or didn’t like it slipped her mind a lot.
Looking down at Gengar, who had started dancing around her, the smile on her face only grew. She was so excited to have Morty in the forest, and for his Pokemon to experience it too. It was certainly something else the first time she experienced it. Rui hoped that Morty and his Pokemon would have a similar experience, just taking it everything that it had to offer, especially at night time.
“I don’t mind at all! I actually brought Mystique with me too so she could play with everyone else!” She paused, smiling and motioning toward the village as she began to lead him toward the Relic Forest. “It’s a pretty short walk to get there, but the hill is kinda steep so be careful! It was…so amazing watching the Forest come to life to save those Pokemon. And it’s kinda hard to explain but I’m sure once you see it, it’ll make more sense.”
She paused, thinking for a small bit, she hummed. “The Shadow Pokemon’s hearts were closed by Cipher. And we opened them back up by battling with them, and working with them to restore their happier memories. Once their hearts were opened to undo that final lock, we would bring them here to Celebi’s relic, and it would restore them back to the way they were. It was…so amazing to see it happen, to have the happiness brought back.”

Of Rogues and Relaxation (PMD Event) | | Rui & Wes
Starter for @shadowoforre
Rui had been messing with a pencil for the last two hours trying to figure out what she was missing in this research thesis. She had been studying the effects of psychic energy and aura use for a while now, and she thought she was going to have a breakthrough! But every time she thought she had it, something always seemed to get in her way, mostly herself.
There were so many things she wanted to research. What affect did aura energy have on others? Was it some form of invasion of privacy? Did others not like it? There were so many questions that she wanted answered but she never knew where to start with any of it! And now she had been sitting there for who knew how long, pigtails bouncing and all. The Kirlia was stumped, and at a loss for words on what to do. So she decided that maybe it was time to go to bed.
And she knew it was going to be time for bed when she let out a rather loud yawn. How long had she even been working, anyway? Had it really been that long? Looking at the time, yeah, it had been that long. But not a couple minutes after she decided to sleep, she heard a noise. Her Trace instantly locked on, jolting her awake. Someone was here. Following the sounds, she ended up in one of the more quiet rooms in the lab, finding a much unexpected visitor. “Wha?! What are you…doing here? Can I…help you?”

Curiosity Killed the Skitty | | Rui & Emmet
starter for @emmaryllis
Rui had managed to wind up in Nimbasa after all her treks around Unova. Things were so industrial and big here. It reminded her a lot of Pyrite, except way less shady. There weren’t bands of gangs and criminal organizations lurking around every corner. Even though it had gotten cleaned up since both Wes and Michael cleaned things up, she still had doubts about the city. It held too many bad memories to just…be erased. And that’s why she was a little uneasy at first.
There were so many people wandering around, mostly in suits. It was like a really high end Pyrite. Instead of criminals lurking, there were businessmen rushing around trying to catch trains or buses. It was honestly really fascinating, and the more she roamed, the more comfortable she felt. She didn’t even know what to do here, but she had heard that there were these famous twins who could beat anyone. And the trains were cool to look at!
Rui’s feet led hear toward an older looking square, where most of the buildings had seen better days, and she wondered if this was the exact wrong side of town to be on. Maybe…she could ask somebody for directions…and her eyes began to scan for literally anyone that suddenly didn’t look shady. Her aura was…starting to act up and tiny sparks were beginning to wrap around her fingertips. Spotting a rather tall man in a long coat, she approached him cautiously. “Um, excuse me? Can you…uh…help me find my way out of this side of town? I was looking for the Subway but got lost…”

Ancient Greens | | Rui & Morty
starter for @gigglesintheshadows
After spending a couple of days back in Phenac in her apartment, watching Mystique float around her apartment chasing after Colin who was having way too much fun running under the tables and chairs, a thought crossed her mind. She hadn’t seen Morty in quite a long time, and while she tried to write him as much as she could, not seeing him for this long was lame.
So obviously, that needed to be fixed and she knew just the thing to have them bond over. The Relic Forest where Celebi resided sometimes, would also be something they could talk about. She needed to show it to him anyway, since he had such a strong connection with all three of the Dogs Wes and her managed to save. And Celebi was so important too. So she wrote to him, inviting him to the lush green oasis of Agate Village.
She returned her playful munchkins, and set out to leave Phenac immediately to meet him there. She was so excited she could hardly wait. And while she knew that it would take Morty a while to get there, she wanted to see her grandparents anyway. Spending quality time with them for a few days was always something she enjoyed, and when it was about time to meet up with him, she stood outside the Village, waiting for him to appear. It was getting dark, and that was exactly what she was hoping for. When he finally did arrive, she waved to him, running over and hugging him tight.
“Morty! I missed you a ton! Thanks for coming all the way out here, I know it wasn’t an easy trip. But I really hope you like this. I’ve got a great thing to show you that I’m sure we can talk endlessly about! It’s the Relic Forest, where we saved all those Pokemon seven years ago.”

basicbadges:
“Yeah, there IS a library here,” says Cheren. “But hold on one second – psychic powers? Aura?”
None of that stuff exists. A firm cynic of everything “mysterious”, Cheren had always laughed at those who believed in concepts like ghosts and magic. Psychic powers, and even aura fell under that category. He was a believer in the phrase “seeing is believing,” but up to this point, had not experienced anything wildly supernatural.
There had been an ordeal involving ghost type Pokemon, but ghost types were another story entirely and if asked, Cheren would deny the entire thing.
He grips onto the umbrella handle. He bites his lip, not wanting to seem so contrary to a complete stranger who had only been so polite to him.
“Uhhh.. I think you can find something like that here in the library up on the hill. But, if that doesn’t work out, I’d try the library in Nacrene. Nacrene is far on the main land though. But they have everything there.”
Rui continued to walk alongside her new travel companion up toward the top of the hill. If there were a few things she could read about up there, she would at least try to see what they had. She could probably find all sorts of things about spirituality and how it was connected to supernatural phenomena like her case was. At least, that’s what she thought.
“Sounds great! I’ll go there and see what they have, and if not…I’ll go to this Nacrene City!” Rui paused, the skepticism strong in his voice. She couldn’t blame him, normal people just didn’t go spouting about how they had the power to control aura. She was used to that by this point.
“Oh yeah! I’ve been training for a while now, and figured doing some reading on it would help me further train my abilities! Some of them aren’t very strong right now, but it’s a process.” The redhead smiled, tilting her head to the side. “Did you want to see some of them? I know having some random girl just start spouting off stuff about having supernatural powers isn’t exactly normal. I’d be happy to show it to you on the way there, at least the really small things.”

shxdowoforre:
Having her body so physically weak was terrifying, but she couldn’t really feel the anxiety over the burning pain and the strange sensations on her arm. Everything was so fuzzy and blurred, even her senses felt like they had taken a vacation and had been replaced with much weaker versions. As her mental capacity seemed to decline, so did her control of her powers.
Strange waves of blue would pulse from her hands every now and then, a technique she learned while she studied in Sinnoh. Heal Pulse, she used it to help heal people that needed someone to patch them up, and while she didn’t know much medicine or first aid, she used it a lot. It was cool as it hit the parts of her body that her hands were toward, but otherwise she didn’t feel much of it. It was so weak, but the drop in temperature around her hands was noticeable.
She was sure of it now, that it had to be Wes. He was talking now, moving her around a bit and telling her not to be sorry. But she had to disagree. This was all brought on because she decided to chase after him, again. And if he told her not to follow him, she would listen from now on. She was beginning to be a burden on him, and she didn’t want that. He had better things to do.
She had to force herself to open her eyes. He was probably worried, thinking she passed out or something. His questions were making her mind focus on something…anything for that matter. And now that they were here, she might as well try to get what she wanted to out in the open. Groaning a little bit more, the machine was making her feel less and less like death was waiting for her. Instead, she was starting to feel a little better, hazy blue eyes opening up a small bit. She was propped up, just laying there and not daring to move. If she wasn’t in so much pain, she would have cherished the moment a little more.
“I wanted you…to know a lot of things. I’ve held this in for a long time, not telling…anybody.” She took a pause, taking a slow deep breath. Her voice was soft and staggered, taking breaks in between words and sentences, but slowly getting through what had been building in her mind this whole time. “I know…I’m always so spunky, hotheaded, but I’m nervous. Every step I take, I’m always second guessing myself. Is this even…the right choice? Did I take the wrong turn? I never…I never know. I can’t…ever seem to find the confidence that…that you have. Trying so hard to be confident in what I have…but I can’t. Wanna prove that…can make it on my own…but I can’t because…here we are…and I’m…this mess I didn’t want you to see. Because they all know me as…that go getting redhead, the happy, confident, accepting nothing but yes…but I…fake it till I make it.”

pokelabsbrat:
“I–yeah, I met him. He was…” How to even describe the man he met in the charred tower ruins? “I liked him.”
It didn’t feel right to continue chatting about him, for some reason. Other things were on Michael’s mind now. “You, uh, do you…”
Dammit. Worse than feeling like an idiot, he felt anxious broaching the subject. “I’ve heard your name before? I mean–well, you may have heard mine before, too…”
He didn’t really want to get into this. But if anyone would understand about Cipher, and maybe even celebrity, it would be her, right? If anyone would get how he felt about everything, it would have to be her.
Rui continued to pet the little Pokemon in her lap, humming to try and make the sour mood stop. But as he was talking, she began to think a little bit harder on where she had heard his name before. His name, his face…where had she seen it before?!
His Espeon, his quiet demeanor, the way he carried himself, and the way his own aura was presented…she knew now. “No…I understand. You don’t have to say it if you don’t want to. It’s…really hard to get that kind of attention. It’s too much sometimes, and you just kinda wanna run away from it all, right?”
Rui paused, taking a deep breath. She knew this sort of subject wouldn’t be easy for him to discuss, but honestly talking about their experiences with Cipher together would help right? “Let’s both just agree that Cipher is the worst thing to ever happen to Orre. It was awful, but freeing all those Pokemon and stopping them…I just never want to see it again.”

You seem to be casual in style, which I'm not saying is a bad thing. I see it as good because in your case it means you get your ideas out there easily and your familiarity lets it flow. It gets to the point of the matter while still having room for some metaphor.
((Awww.....thank you Anon <3 I’ve been trying to write more...elegantly? To change vocab and things to make it funner to read but I just...lmao. I think it’s easier to write that way and makes it easier for everyone else too? Well anyway...I appreciate your compliment my dear anon!))
