lowk there's this post i agree w about the trend wherein female characters of colour in the dcu r overwhelmingly depicted as sexual aggressors + how people shut down these discussions by accusing u of not caring about male SA survivors. and lots of ppl r reblogging and agreeing & don't get me wrong that's a good thing. but im also kind of sad & bitter about it bc women of colour have been SAYING this for so long!! but u don't listen to us it's always gotta be a white person saying it b4 u acknowledge something is a problem. & i bet even if u passively agree that it's fucked up, if a fan of colour then went on to imply they liked miriam tana catalina shado etc a lot of you would be clutching your pearls all over again like "ummm i just think it's a bit weird to Like a rapist ://"

Joey, walking into his basement to look for his hidden candy stash: …….
Slade, rubbing his forehead as he tries to figure out what to do with Dick, who he now knows is Robin and who is still tied to a chair: I can explain.
Joey: …….
Slade: …….
Joey, signing angrily: WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE FUCK
Ok but real shit imagine your dad is Deathstroke but also a weirdo, and then you find out he kidnapped your only friend who also happens to be a weirdo.
Dick, smiling, still very concussed, “Oh hey Joey! Can you tell your dad to untie me please?”
Joey, still signing, WHAT THE FUCK, WHAT THE FUCK, WHAT THE FUCK.
“Oh, he kidnapped me last night. Am I still being kidnapped? He hasn’t answered my question yet.”
“I need a drink,” Slade groans. “Joey, untie your stupid friend and take him upstairs.”
“My head still really hurts,” Dick whines.
“And don’t let him fall asleep.”
WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?
“Your stupid friend has a concussion.”
“That you gave me!” Dick whines. “And I’m not stupid! I’m first in my class!”
THE FUCK DID YOU DO TO HIM, DAD?
“I tried to recruit him. Now get him upstairs and out of my sight.”
I hate you.
Dick, who has grown very tired, groans as he leans his head back. Joey rushes to untie him and help him upstairs.
Slade moves toward his liquor cabinet to pour himself a couple shots of whiskey.

This is a turnaround for one of my OC Reptilia. She was in a previous post of mine but she was due for a redesign and this is what I managed to come up with. Her outfit is inspired by wetsuits and athletic/ military gear. I was also quite inspired by Bryan Hitch and his designs for the ultimates. The colours are inspired by counter shading seen on snakes with green backs and sides and beige undersides.
As for her story Alejandra “Alex” Reyes was an orphan from Mexico City who was kidnapped by a shadowy organisation called Crucible who take children and use them as blank slates to “forge” into super-powered weapons through horrific experiments and gruelling training to be used for their own heinous ends. Alex was experimented and had her dna spliced with several species of reptiles. This gave her enhanced strength, speed and senses, a regenerative healing factor, wall crawling, and camouflaging along with making her cold blooded. She and the other children who were given powers were trained to be an assassins, soldiers and spies by the director of Crucible, Gabriel Estrada. She would work for crucible most of her life going on her first mission at only 12 years old.
Alex’s loyalty to the crucible, Gabriel and her fellow “siblings” was unwavering until she was 23 years old. After years of missions and countless kills attributed to her she began to see the error of her ways. The way she and the rest of the crucibles children have had their very humanity stripped away from them in order to commit atrocities. She decided she could not be apart of crucible any longer and went on the run, leaving her “siblings” behind and the only life she ever knew.
Alex spent months on the lam, evading or eliminating any agents the Crucible sent after her until another organisation, the department of intelligence and defence (D.I.D) began to follow her trail as well. When their agents found her she was successfully apprehended and brought in for questioning. Alex had been on their most wanted list for years thanks to her work for crucible and had plagued the D.I.D so much their agents had took to calling her by the nickname, Reptilia. Her apparent heel turn had caught the attention of the director of the D.I.D, Nathan Song. He saw the potential in Reptilia and could see she was repentant for her actions so he gave Alex an offer, join the D.I.D as an Agent and work for them and he’ll help her take down Crucible for good. Alex this offer is more of an order but she believes this could be her chance to actually use her abilities for something good so she accepts and takes on the name they had called her for years as her new codename, Reptilia.
This would be the point my main story would pick up but we’ll see if I ever get around to making that.

to understand nagito's character you must understand his belief system.
nagito is such a complex character in sdr2 which i have had the pleasure of analyzing and understanding, and now it's my time to shine. in short, i feel as nagito had been severely misconstrued throughout the existence of the sdr2 fandom, usually being seen as a "insane" character, without much more substance outside of causing chaos for the love of the game, (oh yeah, and hope!) or, and especially in fanfiction and post game fan interpretations, a helpless person who NEEDS hajime. emphasis on needs. more than not, nagito is pushed into this defenseless "submissive" role because of his trauma and struggle, when he had been one of the smartest in the danganronpa series up until now. i kind of want to talk about nagito's belief system since i've been itching to for a while.
in simple terms, it's based on waiting for people to leave. most people who at least give a shit about nagito have watched/played through his free time events, and through them we learn about his past. usually, for people who view nagito with the role of a total antagonist, usually the argument of "his trauma does not excuse his actions" arises, which is a very valid argument, but what his past does give us is the reasons behind his actions, that we can use to understand him. the kidnapping, the parents, the ilness, and all the good luck that came along with it, disregarding this back and forth with the luck cycle, it's taught nagito to let go throughout the course of his life. that nothing good ever lasts because bad luck is coming right on his tail to get him for any good thing life decides to throw his way. this especially manifests in the way he sees himself. we all know that throughout the game, he would refer to himself as "scum" or "trash" amongst other self deprecating remarks. once everything good leaves, leaving you with nothing as if it were fate, it must be because you don't DESERVE it, because you ARE trash. if your life has been a guaranteed misfortune after misfortune, naturally it would be the conclusion. entering into hopes peak academy, nagito starts with the base assumption that he is below his peers due to the "boring" talent he possesses, and the years of build-up he had to this view of self. his world is built under three major assumptions:
- the assumption of the existence of the luck cycle, alternating between good and bad luck
- the assumption that most, if not all people would not like him, or do not
- the assumption that everyone will LEAVE
the last one is harder to understand since it is the only one not explicitly stated. it becomes more implied, especially nearing end of the game if you take note of how irrespective of nagito's murder plans, he was distancing himself from the group, and hell, he had been since the beginning of the game after the group found out that nagito's happy-go-lucky demeanor was mostly a front for his twisted view of hope and despair. i feel like i glossed over hope and despair, but in short, you could see his obsession with hope and despair as a manifestation of the consequences of his luck cycle. after being thrown into the deepest pits of despair, he always had something to HOPE for, and since this was the only thing seemingly true in his life, he had to have latched onto it. it was the only thing he really had. back to my little thing about leaving, it really goes back to that core belief system. in the end, really anyone who he had known prior to meeting the cast of sdr2 had in some way left him, particularly through death (since it is danganronpa). now we see him, in chapter 1, where he plans a murder. it may not be apparent at first, but aside from his crazy idea of hope and despair, why else would he try to leave first? why would he have to be the first to make a move? after planning and atrempting to kill Twogami/Imposter, why would he be so eager to die? We know he values his life little, but he isn't inhuman. You can see his face in the 5th chapter. That isn't the face of someone who had no fear of death. I argue it was to let go. To not get attached, to let him die, without getting close, so it hurts less. The pain of being left hurts leagues more than the pain of anything else, even death, having come so close to it. Over the story of sdr2 nagito does grow attached to characters in the story, particularly hajime, who is stuck in a similar position as him, feeling inferior, talentless, but with two completely different outlooks on their situation. it is because of their mutual understanding of the situation that hajime tries to make sense of nagito's bullshit, of his assumptions, of his beliefs. nagito's willingness to go only grows throughout the chapters, finally bursting in the 5th with the revelation of the remnants of despair. that revelation was the cutting of the tie. the people he revered so much were what he sought to destroy.
his character is extremely interesting in this sense, and how he cracks even further when hajime attempts to understand him, to get a glimpse into why he is the way he is. it was entertaining to see how nagito would begin to progress, just to be beaten back down with every death, every revelation, every thing that made us go back to square one, and by the end of the game, you have nagito leave you before you can even begin to unravel him, you keep getting threads of it, but it's never enough to fully understand him as a person.
nagito is pretty cool
thank you for listening to my practically an essay about the belief system of nagito komaeda
rip hajime you would've loved ap language and composition

It's so funny half the propaganda is: murder, attempted murder, abuse, slavery
And the other half is: kinda annoying
This tournament is really something
Some of the Jason debate is SO FUNNY to me. Like "yes he committed domestic terrorism but how dare you say he committed (x) lesser crime" is an inherently funny sentence
