Ooh, this is fun, @lestappenforever thanks for the tag!
So I am native in Arabic (mother tongue) and can understand most of the dialects (though some like Moroccan, Algerian, Tunisian, the not-so -easy one, they are pretty tough or I can’t understand), pretty fluent in English, actually can speak it since I was maybe 3-4. I understand to some extent French, took it for about 9 years though it was a third language not one of the primary languages when I was in school (had to say this because we do have French schools and English schools). Started a bit of German, though very very VERYY basic (duolingo I give you credit for this). I can read a bit of greek/coptic (I can read it, but I can’t really understand or speak, and its more coptic that greek tbh, just the common words I can read). Surprisingly, I can very slightly understand some Italian and Spanish, is it because of its similarities with French, is it because of Netflix, idk but I can understand them very slightly. But I do still want to learn more languages, mainly more German, Dutch, Italian and Spanish.
but yeah, I enjoyed reading this, and tagging @paint-it-red-and-black @hotmandrivefast @slythereen @thearchercore @trees-ofwire and anyone who wants to join in
I'm curious, what languages do my mutuals know?
I speak both English and German, and I know some very basic phrases of Finnish, Spanish, and French.
Tag your mutuals!!
@serene-sky-kid @halcyon-xxy @plutonium-sky @ari-skycotl @arsolitaforever @beigetiger @ejsuperstar
If I forgot you, I'm sorry, and don't be afraid to join in regardless <3

Everything I learn about the f1 movie is against my will but I just want to say for the umpteenth time FUCK BRAD PITT AND EVERYONE WHO HAD ANY DECISION MAKING POWER REGARDING THE SCRIPT AND EDITING OF THIS DUMPSTER FIRE.
The only female character will be the race engineer who has an inappropriate workplace relationship with geriatric Pitt's self-interest. In real life, Laura Müller is the 1st full-time female race engineer. She got that job this year. This movie has been in development since at least 2021, we deadass nearly got this movie & this bs relationship BEFORE A WOMAN EVEN GOT THAT JOB.
We've not had a woman on the grid since 1992, when 18 of the 21* current drivers on the grid literally didn't exist. The last woman to participate in an f1 race weekend was Susie Wolff in 2015. Grid Girls only stopped being a thing in 2018. How women in motorsport are portrayed absolutely matters because it impacts how they are seen and how they are treated. This depiction is a huge setback and its being fucking endorsed and promoted by the sport itself.
They also cut the only woman of colour from the movie, despite her involvement being used as marketing since the literal moment they announced her casting. They reduced her to a fucking cameo.
Justice for Simone Ashley, for Laura Müller & for women across motorsport because this movie is going to do significant harm.

It’s been 24 hours approximately since Charles’ contract announcement was made, and to be quite frank, I’m happy for him really, but I do have some concerns, because it’s Ferrari and from what I’ve seen in my limited knowledge as an F1 fan, Ferrari can’t be trusted.
From watching old season’s races, to watching Drive to Survive, and reading a lot into the whole situation, Ferrari are the sort of team that would put the expectations, yet they somehow find a way to fuck up.
Yes, I understand that the team has changed in the past 15 years multiple times, with the team principal changing and Ferrari getting Fred specifically for Charles, but let’s all look back at something very simple and very small. Ferrari never learn.
We’ve seen it with some of the big names, Fernando was a champion contender to the last race in 2010, but in a way, Ferrari fucked him over. Seb was fresh if 4 consecutive titles, and went to Ferrari because of the issues at Red Bull, hoping to be victor again with them, and he had the chance to be a world champion with them, but again, Ferrari fucked him over. Then after giving them hope, after being the first title contender since Alonso, they decided to fire him, and sign Sainz. Kimi was the only exception of him being their only champion since Schumacher, and even his title has controversy around it, and when he came back in his second stint, they fucked their last champion over, again. Why? Because it’s Ferrari and they never learn!
Ferrari runs high in politics, that is something that is very VERY well known. They are also in some sort of daydream if them being the best because of their history, and while yes, history does play a major part in Formula 1, the teams that are currently successful and have been fir the past few years, it is the “young” teams, the teams that are focused on now, rather than back in the day, with Mercedes who were founded as Mercedes in 2010 as Mercedes that we know today, and Red Bull who were founded in 2005, with no prior history, an energy drink company breaking records left and right over prestigious car constructors from around the world.
And as Horner said in a podcast episode (if i remember correctly it was Eff Won) he clearly said that Ferrari’s main problem is that they really a country team, not a motorsport team now. They’re so focused on being that Italian historical team, rather that being a true competitor. And while yes, 2024 will show us what will happen, I’m still on the look for them, because they have now one of the best drivers on the grid committed to them, for fucks sake he bleeds Ferrari, and we all can bet that there is an exit clause that is very VERY prominent in that contract, because Charles wants to win, ideally with Ferrari, but ultimately he wants to win. And if Ferrari can’t provide him that, you can bet that other teams (Red Bull I’m staring at you my beloved team) are going to work hard on snatching him. And let’s all be real for a minute, if Horner likes a driver, and believes in them, you can bet your money that whenever the slightest of chance appears, he will snatch it with everything, and Christian believes in Charles in a way that I’ve only seen with Max, so you can put two and two together and wait. Let’s see what 2024 will bring for Ferrari’s predestined

the p10 doesnt bother me as much as the actions of the whole team including max do. they should have never pitted for hards,gp shouldnt have told max to switch, max shouldnt have lost his head like that. strat, comms, driver all went shit today. not to mention he might get pen points or even a race ban we could have been fighting for lead if we stayed out and at worst finished 3rd max would have to win 7 races in a row now, considering oscar and lando in 2-3rd respectively to get championship lead.
Perfectly said, anon, no notes.

With the F1 Movie release lingering closer and closer, it’s time to have an uncomfortable conversation.
Forgive me for going all feminist on you (I’m not sorry), but have a seat and let’s chat, yeah?
Let’s discuss the negative impact this movie is going to have on women in motorsport as well as female fans, shall we?
Of course the obvious conversation is about the women working in motorsport. Imagine how poorly the plot is going to reflect on them. Why? Oh, well let’s see. You’ve got an entire plot that revolves around the main character (who’s played by a misogynistic wife beater, by the way, great casting choice!) sleeping with his fucking female engineer.
Now bear in mind how that’s going to negatively affect the PR of women working in motorsport. Especially Laura Mueller, who is the sport’s first ever female race engineer in its entire 75 year history. Who literally already has incels on the internet saying the only way she got her job is because she slept with someone.
And of course, consider the female fans.
There are so many of us out here every day fighting with male fans who think we “don’t know anything” and “only watch F1 because the drivers are hot.” We are constantly ostracized in this fucking sport and feeling like we have to prove that we’re even allowed to like it.
Can you imagine how poorly the F1 Movie will reflect on us?
All this movie is going to do is push the harmful, negative stereotype that F1 is a “man’s world.” It’s just going to make women feel like they don’t belong in a sport where they already feel shoved aside.
So, and maybe I’m being a little dramatic here, but if you happen to know a female F1 fan, please be kind to her. Please check on her.
And to all my ladies, we do belong in this sport. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. 💜💜
